Late Kim Sae-Ron’s Clip Goes Viral!(Photo Credit –Instagram)

It’s getting scandalous each day as new evidence gets introduced in front of the public regarding Kim Soo-Hyun and Kim Sae-Ron’s case. After the actress passed away, her aunt made some shocking revelations about her past relationship with the Queen of Tears actor that left everyone shocked. As per her claims, they had a six-year-long relationship which started in 2015 when she was just 15 years old while he was 27 and ended in 2021. The massive age gap sparked the controversy.

Based on Sae-Ron’s aunt’s claims, Soo-Hyun groomed, harassed, and pushed her to the brink of committing suicide. According to the aunt, the actor and his agency even tried to extort money from her. However, while many fans have already been talking about boycotting the actor, others had faith in him. But, after the recent leaked video, things have gone out of hand.

Gerard Butler's Forgotten $221M Sci-Fi Disaster Film Set to Resurface on Netflix
Image
The early 2000s were a decade rife with disaster movies about how the world would come to an end (or at least very close): The Day After Tomorrow, 2012, Knowing, etc. The 2010s tried to continue the trend, and whilst it worked for a while, disaster movies never really stayed on a true course.

Maybe it was fatigue from audiences at the notion of the world ending, or maybe Marvel movies were more appealing to the larger customer base of cinema goers at the time. Whatever the cause, the trend ended (or at least became a lot less popular), though that didn’t stop studios from making highly entertaining disaster movies. One of those movies, Geostorm, is soon coming to Netflix for streaming, set to arrive on the platform on April 1, via What's On Netflix.

What is Geostorm About?

Geostorm follows Jake Lawson (Gerard Butler), a satellite designer who helped...

Every Kryptonite Color in Superman History Explained (Along With Their Effects & Rarity)
Image
Anyone who knows the name Superman knows that his greatest weakness is Kryptonite. The radioactive crystalline ore was formed under the extreme pressures and geological instabilities that eventually led to Kryptons destruction. Like radioactive elements on Earth, Kryptonite is highly lethal to Kryptonians, breaking their cells down until theres nothing left. However, while the Green Kryptonite is the most iconic form of the ore, its far from the only type.

Each variation of Kryptonite exhibits a varied array of effects on Kryptonians besides cellular degradation. Some versions of the alien ore significantly alter a Kryptonians mind, while others possess seemingly mystical effects. Throughout every reincarnation of the DC Universe, the list of known Kryptonite variants has only grown in size. Fortunately, this list is here to finally catalog every Kryptonite color in Superman history and the effects they have.

Sound And Vision: Alex Proyas
Image
In the article series Sound and Vision we take a look at music videos from notable directors. This week: several music videos by Alex Proyas. I'm an Alex Proyas-apologist. His film record is widely considered spotty with Dark City and The Crow having a deservedly large cult following, I Robot and Spirits of the Air, Gremlins of the Cloud having some staunch defenders, and Knowing and Gods of Egypt only being defended by a handful of people (including me). Garage Days? Well, that one doesn't measure up to the rest, which I do all love wholeheartedly. There is a reason it was forgotten, but its inclusion in the Proyas-canon does make sense when you realize that he started out doing music videos. So him directing...

“I laughed like a 12-year-old girl”: Kevin Costner’s Charm Left Matt Damon Weak in the Knees While Starring in a $84.4 Million Film Together
Image
Over the years, Matt Damon has turned into one of the biggest names in Hollywood. He was the protagonist of his own film series, has been in many Oscar-winning projects, has been nominated for the award five times himself, and even won once. It is safe to say that he is one of the most talented, respected, and recognized actors in the film industry.

While he has come to be known through these adjectives, he was also once a lesser-known actor. Every A-list star had to start somewhere, and many years ago, Damon worked as an extra in a Kevin Costner film alongside his long-time friend, Ben Affleck.

During a recent interview, Jimmy Kimmel told Costner exactly what was going through his mind when he was working with him for the first time.

The Crow Review
Image
The Crow opens on Devil's Night, an evening of mischief and mayhem in Detroit, Michigan. The evening before Halloween, the Motor City is awash in iridescent orange light as cars and buildings are set ablaze. If not for the endless rain, there would be no respite from the fire. Alt-rocker Eric Draven (Brandon Lee) and his fiancé, Shelly Webster (Sofia Shinas), are going to get married tomorrow. That is, until they're both horrifically murdered at the hands of Paradise Lost-quoting criminal named T-Bird (David Patrick Kelly) and his merry band of sadistic killers.

One year later, it's Devil's Night again. The city is burning once more -- if it ever stopped. A crow visits Eric Draven's grave, resurrecting and imbuing him with otherworldly powers that can take others' pain and withstand gunshots. A young girl, Sarah (Rochelle Davis), who knew Eric and Shelly, will tell us that a "crow...

15 Sci Fi Movies With Awful Reviews That Are Actually Worth Watching
Image
The sci-fi movies on this list are not all great works of art. They're not all "secretly great," not all misunderstood masterpieces, and they're certainly not all even "good." Some are! Some are merely fun. Some are bad but instructively so, movies whose bad-ness is thought-provoking. Some are even so bad, they circle back around to being incredibly entertaining.

Is "bad-ness" a lack of competence, or one of taste? As C.S. Lewis once wrote, labeling something negatively is an easy way out. "The distinction [between highbrow and lowbrow] is certainly used to allow us the satisfaction of despising certain authors and readers without imposing on us the labour of showing that they are bad," he wrote. He was talking about books, but his point still stands.

I steadfastly believe that it's worthwhile to watch "bad" movies. I believe we can learn a lot from them about our taste, about what works and what doesn't,...

Leave the World Behind Review | Another Netflix Apocalypse with No Point but Great Actors
Image
Leave the World Behind is an aimless and overlong apocalyptic drama that wastes the talents of its star-studded cast, except for Julia Roberts, who delivers an excellent performance. The film borrows heavily from other, better films, but fails to bring anything original or meaningful to its narrative. The characters in the film lack depth and are one-dimensional, making it difficult for the audience to connect with them or invest in their story. Ultimately, the movie's a shallow, pointless thriller with a great performance.

Sam Esmail's Mr. Robot started off as one of the best shows on TV, but soon devolved into a needlessly ambiguous, intellectually pretentious, and overlong melodrama. Unfortunately, that's the exact same fate which befalls Esmail's star-studded apocalyptic thriller for Netflix, Leave the World Behind. From Ethan Hawke and Kevin Bacon to Mahershala Ali and the audience themselves, everyone's time feels wasted here, except for Julia Roberts,...

More than a decade after its original 2009 release, Knowing remains one of the rare movies no one can guess the ending. Ouija: Origin of Evil (2016) Revisited – Horror Movie Review
Image
The Ouija: Origin of Evil episode of The Black Sheep was Written and Narrated by Andrew Hatfield, Edited by Brandon Nally, Produced by Lance Vlcek and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.

The Ouija board, and that’s weejee board not weeja board with all due respect to Joe Bob Briggs, has been a constant source of fascination since it’s inception in 1890. Ghostly movements and other supernatural appearances went back further than that and there were crude inceptions before 1890 but that’s when the board as we know it came about. It was commercialized sometime later and of course; it’s showed up as a device in horror movies ever since. The Witchboard series that started in 1986 is probably the most popular series that features the spirit communicator but another, more straightforward series called Ouija is also out there. While the first one that came out in...

2009's Knowing movie had an unforgettable ending, and here are the answers to some of its biggest questions. How Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer Recreated A Nuclear Explosion Without Using CGI
Image
As has been previously written about in the pages of /Film, filmmaker Christopher Nolan has endeavored to make his new film "Oppenheimer" -- a biopic of J. Robert Oppenheimer, one of the men behind the invention of the atomic bomb -- with a minimum of computer-generated images. Nolan has always been very vocal about his fondness for analog filmmaking, preferring to shoot on physical film and rely as much as he can on practical effects. Nolan has used some CGI throughout his career, but will never be one of those directors who finds themselves filming inside greenscreen environs.

This sense of artistic purity, perhaps alarmingly, led Nolan to recreate nuclear explosions in real life for "Oppenheimer." The director, quite naturally, wasn't about to start exploding actual atomic bombs, but he did want to get real-life explosions on camera. This involved a lot of munitions experimentation, needing to find other, non-nuclear...

What Nicolas Cage's Knowing Movie Was Really About
Image
Nicolas Cage's Knowing movie was panned by most critics and viewers, primarily because of its baffling themes and seemingly over-the-top ending, but a closer look at what it is truly about suggests that it is far better than it is given credit for. Opening with an intriguing hook, Knowing sets the stage for its overarching mysteries by introducing a young girl who scribbles random numbers when asked to draw pictures of the future to put into a time capsule. The girl almost seems possessed by the numbers she etches into her time capsule letter, which makes it hard not to wonder whether her message is a code for something meaningful.

With what follows, the Knowing movie leaps to fifty years in the future, where MIT professor John Koestler gets his hands on the coded letter. As he races against time to unravel the mysteries behind the letter, he learns...

Seth Meyers at an event for Portlandia (2011)
Meyers Pities Brian Kilmeade Looking for DeSantis Fan On-Air: Like ‘Gerbil Trapped in a Maze’ Looking for a ‘Reward Pellet’ (Video)
Seth Meyers at an event for Portlandia (2011)
Seth Meyers actually felt some sympathy for “Fox and Friends” host Brian Kilmeade on Wednesday night, after watching a segment in which Kilmeade ended up running frantically around a Florida diner, looking for anyone to say they weren’t supporting twice-impeached former president Donald Trump in the 2024 election.

The segment came from Tuesday morning’s show, when Kilmeade was sent to a restaurant called Metro Diner in Ponte Vedra Beach. In the clip, Kilmeade first asks the crowd “who’s pumped up” for the 2024 election. When they all enthusiastically agree, Kilmeade begins rapid fire asking everyone there “Who’s your man” or “who’s your woman.”

By Meyers’ guess, Kilmeade and Fox News were hoping to get a lot of Ron DeSantis as an answer, because “they’re hyping Ron DeSantis” in an effort to “put the genie back in the bottle.”

WWE Hall of Famer Says Sami Zayn Is The "Next Big Superstar"
Image
Over the last five months or so, Sami Zayn has been the talk of the WWE Universe. He's not the biggest star in the ongoing Bloodline saga—that title belongs to Roman Reigns—but the faction's run has done more for The Honorary Uce than anyone else involved. There's an argument to be made for Solo Sikoa. After all, he was called up to the main roster to work with the group. Still, everyone seems to love what Zayn has managed to do since initially feeling tacked onto this storyline. WWE fans will remember the recent Trial of Sami Zayn as one of the best segments in Raw history, and Triple H has woven one of the top long-term storylines in recent memory.

Teddy Long joined in on praising Zayn for his recent work during the Raw is 30-anniversary show this week. Appearing on WrestleBinge, the WWE Hall of Famer spoke highly of the 38-year-old.

M3GAN Knocks Avatar 2 From #1 For First Day Since Its Release
Image
Avatar: The Way of Water has been knocked from its No. 1 daily domestic box office perch for the first time thanks to the killer doll flick M3GAN. Coming 13 years after the original 2009 film, Avatar: The Way of Water reunites director James Cameron with stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, and Sigourney Weaver, among others. Since its theatrical debut on December 16, 2022, the Avatar sequel has already grossed over 1.5 billion total, becoming the highest-grossing film to be released in 2022, though Top Gun: Maverick is still the film that made the most in the domestic box office during the 2022 calendar year.

Per Collider, Avatar: The Way of Water is facing some competition however as the promising box office run of M3GAN has just earned another feather to put in its cap. Although Avatar: The Way of Water will still be claiming the No. 1 spot for the weekend as a whole with a...

Shonen Jump Tackles the Harsh Realities of Bullying in Brutal New Manga
Image
Warning: This contains Spoilers for The Ichinose Family's Deadly SinsWhile the new Shonen Jump manga series The Ichinose Family's Deadly Sins is ostensibly about uncovering the secret lives of the family members after they suffer a horrific accident, so far the story has focused on addressing that unfortunately common aspect of a teenager's school life, namely bullying.

Taizen5's The Ichinose Family's Deadly Sins doesn't begin in the traditional manga manner. After being involved in a terrible car accident where their vehicle is thrown off the road, the story opens with the Ichinoses recovering in the hospital. On the one hand, the family feels fortunate to have suffered only minor physical injuries. However, by some strange coincidence all members, including grandparents, parents, and children, suffer complete amnesia, not only to what happened to cause the accident but more importantly who they are individually and collectively. On their return home, it's...

Box Office Predictions: the calm before the Avatar storm
Image
This week sees the highly anticipated release of… nothing! In the lead up to Avatar: The Way of Water it seems all other studios have decided to play it safe and not even attempt one big weekend before dropping significantly next week.

That doesn’t mean there isn’t anything to see. If you live in an area with some Indie theaters (basically New York or Los Angeles) you may be able to see the limited releases of Darren Aronofsky’s The Whale starring a soon to be Oscar Nominated (if the buzz is true) Brendan Fraser. Or perhaps the Sam Mendes film Empire of Light is more your speed, if you can find a theater that is playing it. Or maybe, just maybe, you have been eagerly anticipating the release of a PG rated version of the Mark Wahlberg film Father Stu this time called Father Stu: Reborn? Although,...

A mystery movie has to deliver a satisfying answer to all the questions fans have been asking throughout the story. But fans on Reddit point to some examples of mystery movies where all the intrigue and suspense are ruined by a disappointing ending.

Frailty (2001)

The small indie mystery Frailty tells the story of a widowed father of two young boys who believes he is on a mission from God. He insists he can see evil spirits disguised as ordinary people and it is his responsibility to kill them, recruiting his sons to help him.

Image
Actor and director, Jonathan Frakes, reveals that the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds crossover with the animated series, Star Trek: Lower Decks, will be a comedy. Alex Kurtzman's 2018 rebranding of the long-running multi-generational science-fiction franchise saw the birth of multiple new Star Trek shows for fans of all ages to the adult-oriented animated show, Lower Decks, and the franchise's live-action return to episodic storytelling with Strange New Worlds. Early this year, it was announced that Strange New Worlds season 2 will feature a crossover episode with the animated series, bringing Ensign Beckett Mariner (Tawny Newsome) and Ensign Brad Boimler (Jack Quaid) into live-action while Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) gets the two-dimensional treatment.

In a recent interview with TrekMovie, Frakes explained that the upcoming Strange New Worlds crossover episode with Lower Decks will be a comedy. The former Star Trek: The Next Generation star, who has reprised his role on Lower Decks,...

Liam Hemsworth's Weird Road From The Hunger Games To The Witcher
Image
When it was announced that "The Hunger Games" star Liam Hemsworth would be replacing Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia on "The Witcher," fan reactions ranged from perplexity to downright rage. Cavill has served as the leading monster slayer on the hit Netflix series' first two seasons and upcoming third, but due to what is presumably scheduling conflicts regarding Cavill's return to the DC Extended Universe as Superman, Hemsworth will be stepping into the role for season 4. In Cavill's statement regarding the replacement, he called Hemsworth "fantastic," and indicated he found him to be a worthy successor as the White Wolf.

"As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam's take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men," he said. "Liam, good sir, this character has such a wonderful depth to him, enjoy diving...

Black Adam's Aldis Hodge Had To Factor In Imaginary Wings When Memorizing Fight Choreography [Exclusive]
Image
When "Black Adam" finally hits theaters this week, it won't just introduce audiences to the antihero Teth-Adam (Dwayne Johnson), but to a whole cadre of heroes who could end up playing a major part in the future of the Dceu. The team is called the Justice Society of America, and trailers for the movie have already given us a great first look at their impressive, assorted powers.

Among them is Hawkman, the leader of the Jsa who can be spotted body-slamming Black Adam into a building in clips from the movie. Hawkman, whose real name is Carter Hall, sports a pair of gorgeous and intimidating gold and red wings and a golden helmet with its own wing-like pattern. But the actor that plays him, "One Night in Miami" and "The Invisible Man" star Aldis Hodge, apparently had to make do with imaginary wings while on set.

Box Office Predictions: The Woman King to Slay First Place
Image
The third week of September finally brings a glimmer of hope to the box office in the form of Viola Davis and her film The Woman King. Full disclosure, this isn’t my type of movie, I like some warrior movies, but they aren’t the type of films I rush out to see. However, being a fan of Viola Davis, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t intrigued by seeing her in the type of role we have never seen her play before. I think you combine that level of curiosity among moviegoers and the film’s quite solid reviews. You have a recipe for the first film to open in the 20 Million range since Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero did nearly a month ago. The studio is playing it slightly more modest, saying The Woman King is only tracking to open around 12 Million.

Just six months ago,...

Back To One Episode 209: Antonia Campbell-Hughes

I watched the movie Cordelia not knowing anything at all about it, and never having seen Irish actor Antonia Campbell-Hughes in anything before. The psychological thriller greatly impressed me in no small part due to the captivating performance of Campbell-Hughes, particularly the emotional depth that she invites the viewer to examine without words. In this episode, she talks about the layering work she did to build that character, the unorthodox way her process (or conscious lack of process) has developed over the years, and why it all started with what continues to be the main ingredient—truth. Outer Range (2022)
Here’s What’s New on Amazon Prime Video in April 2022
Outer Range (2022)
If you’re looking for new movies and TV shows to watch on Amazon Prime Video in April, you’ve come to the right place. This month doesn’t bring a ton in terms of new Prime Video originals, but there are a few noteworthy titles. “Outer Range,” premiering April 15, is a new series that’s essentially “Yellowstone” but sci-fi. Josh Brolin plays a rancher fighting for his land in Wyoming who encounters a supernatural twist.

There’s also “A Very British Scandal,” which stars Claire Foy and Paul Bettany and focuses on the divorce of the Duke and Dutchess of Argyll, and the second season of the animated series “Undone” on April 29.

In terms of Prime Video movies, Chris Pine and Thandiwe Newton star in the thriller ”All the Old Knives” which is streaming on April 8, and noteworthy library titles being added in April include “Fast Times at Ridgemont High,...

John Malkovich, Frank Grillo, Lilly Krug, and Cameron Monaghan in Shattered (2022)
New on Hulu in April 2022: Every New Movie and TV Show This Month
John Malkovich, Frank Grillo, Lilly Krug, and Cameron Monaghan in Shattered (2022)
April is here and that means there’s a whole slew of new releases headed to Hulu to meet your streaming needs.

In the realm of original films, Hulu has the queer rom-com “Crush,” starring Rowan Blanchard and Auli’i Cravalho, which debuts April 29. Meanwhile, new library arrivals this month include the Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt sci-fi mind-bender “Looper,” both “Shrek” and “Shrek 2,” and all four films in “The Twilight Saga.”

April is also a big month for new TV shows on Hulu. Andrew Garfield’s hot streak continues with the FX drama “Under the Banner of Heaven,” which debuts exclusively on Hulu April 28. For reality TV fans, “The Kardashians” premieres on April 14. Hulu also has two franchise spinoff kids shows returning with Season 7 of “Madagascar: A Little Wild” on April 4 and Season 2 of “The Croods: Family Tree” on April 5.

These are but a few highlights in a rather...

Under the Banner of Heaven (2022)
Hulu New Releases: April 2022
Under the Banner of Heaven (2022)
Though the confusingly named initiative “FX on Hulu” is on its way out, FX is still bringing premium television to Hulu in the meantime.

Hulu’s list of new releases for April 2022 is highlighted by FX limited series Under the Banner of Heaven. This adaptation of the non-fiction book by John Krakauer stars Andrew Garfield as a Mormon police detective whose faith is shaken when investigating a murder involving the church.

It’s not all just FX on the TV side of things for Hulu this month, however. The streamer is debuting second seasons of its series The Hardy Boys (April 6) and Woke (April 8). There isn’t much to report from Hulu’s original movies arm aside from true crime documentary Captive Audience on April 21. But that doc about one family’s 50-year journey for justice sounds like a must-watch.

April 1 sees the usual arrival of library film titles. Looper,...

Josh Brolin
Amazon Prime Video New Releases: April 2022
Josh Brolin
Good news for all you Brolin-heads! Amazon Prime Video’s list of new releases for April 2022 is highlighted by one very intriguing TV project starring Thanos himself.

The Josh Brolin-starring Outer Range premieres April 15 and looks like it could be a wild ride. The synopsis is terse and reads “A rancher fighting for his land and family stumbles upon an unfathomable mystery at the edge of Wyoming’s wilderness, forcing a confrontation with the Unknown in ways both intimate and cosmic in the untamable American West.” That, combined with an enigmatic first trailer, has our interest piqued.

Also on the TV side of things this month is season 2 of the beautifully rotoscoped series Undone on April 29. Rosa Salazar returns as Alma, a woman who may have become unstuck in time to help save her scientist father’s life. Before that, the British TV series The Outlaws makes its debut...

Why fan associations are a male stars only phenomenon in Mollywood
Image
MollywoodBarring exceptions like Manju Warrier and Nayanthara, women actors in Malayalam cinema hardly see any fan-led celebrations like the kind enjoyed by their male counterparts.CrisAmong all the folks that Malayalam movie makers like to thank at the beginning of a film are groups after groups of fan associations. Promptly, applause – ranging from loud to feeble depending on the strength of each group – breaks out in the theatre. If you screw your eyes and read through the names of these associations, chances are that you will be quite impressed. For you’ll very likely find a fan club for the newest male actor on the block, whom you hardly recall. Naturally, if you’re in the habit of introspecting, you’ll wonder where all the groups for women actors are. Surely, if the little known chap has one, the much senior women actors would have a few, you think. To that,...
