Joseph Quek (Ko) was originally cast to play Richard, but after an extensive search for a Singaporean lead, he was called in to read for Ko. He was the last person left to audition.
There are references throughout the movie to Writer and Director Max Makowski's first film, The Pigeon Egg Strategy (1998).
Francis Ng was Makowski's first choice for the role of T.
The film premiered in Competition at the Sundance Film Festival in 2006.
The film's European premiere was at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006.
