Season 1 contains a scene where a man undergoes a sterilization process for an immunodeficiency quarantine good boy. During the process he is initially shown nude from behind with his butt quickly blurred from behind frosted glass, but then a side and top view is shown unhindered, and from the top his penis is visible.

A woman's buttocks are partially visible in a couple of brief shots.

Loads of jokes or mentions of sex. Nothing too bad tho.

Dr. Cuddy often wears a low-cut top which Dr. House makes crude comments about. Dr. House also makes sexist remarks frequently about female colleagues and females in general.

One episode deals with the topic of rape, as one of House's patients is a victim. No depictions or graphic description of rape is present, but discussions of the after-effects are present.

Several episodes feature patients who are suffering from STDs.

Very bloody at times.

Some episodes contain strong violence and fighting which lead to bloody injuries.

Most, if not all, episodes contain strong depictions of injuries and surgery, with gruesome side-effects of diseases shown and described in detail.

A man says "fag," in one episode.

Use of the word "cripple" used multiple times throughout the show, usually self-deprecating

Dr. House is often very rude to his colleagues and his patients.

Crap, ass and damn are very commonly used, with bitch, piss and slut also used frequently. There is also occasional uses of bastard, whore and dick.

Some episodes deal with alcoholism

Social drinking is seen occasionally. Some episodes show some of the characters getting drunk for various reasons. Some people are seen occasionally smoking, including (albeit very rarely) House himself. ( a cigar)

An ever-present feature of the show is House's addiction to hard drugs (pain medication called Vicodin which he takes because of chronic pain in his leg). He is frequently seen taking these drugs and bragging about his addiction, and several episodes graphically depict him detoxing from the drug. House is also suspected to be taking Heroin in a few episodes, (but is actually on Methadone) as well as some other experimental medication.

Frequent discussions about drugs in relation to patient's symptoms. Several episodes centre around patients whose symptoms are caused by drug use, which are discussed in detail.

Arguably the most brutal and bloody episode of the series, a man crucifies himself, blood seen through his hands, and a large, unrealistic amount of blood dripping from his mouth.

Scenes with characters hallucinating can be quite intense.

Characters often face moral dilemmas as they weigh the diagnosis and care of a patient vs. violating the rules and working outside the system in order to do so. Ethical questions regarding these decisions are often discussed.

Surgery scenes can be extremely graphic and gory and sometimes very intense.

In almost every episode, patients can be seen having seizures, vomiting blood or something similar whilst doctors or people around them attempt to help, which can be very intense sometimes.

Discussions about death, rape and other sensitive mature topics are frequent. There are also episodes which depict suicide and suicide techniques.
