Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves in The Lake House (2006)

Speed 3: Things Would be Different If Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock Says Yes to Another Speed Movie
Image
Before there were superheroes saving the world, and stopping buses with their bare hands every weekend, there was a bus that they did not come to save, and if it dropped below 50 mph, boom. That’s Speed in a nutshell. And somehow, that wild setup turned into one of the biggest action hits of the ’90s.

With Keanu Reeves playing the cool cop and Sandra Bullock as the driver, Speed raced into theaters and blew past expectations. It cost under $40 million to make and made nearly $350 million worldwide. Critics loved it, and so did the fans.

Given its runaway success, a sequel was inevitable. Speed 2: Cruise Control thus arrived with Bullock reprising her role, but Reeves opted not to return. Unfortunately, the sequel failed to replicate the original’s impact, both commercially and critically. Now there’s talk of a third film, and if both stars say yes,...

Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock to Have 'Speed' Reunion in Romance Thriller
Image
Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock are reuniting for a new feature film, nearly two decades after they last starred in a movie together. The duo will be back in action, but this time, they're mixing the thrill of Jan de Bont's 1994 pulse-pounding classic Speedwith a touch of romance, reigniting the chemistry they exuded on-screen throughout their (extremely) long-distance relationship in Alejandro Agresti's 2006 love story The Lake House, to star in an as-yet-untitled "propulsive" romantic thriller currently in development at Amazon MGM Studios.

The wheels are in motion on the romantic thriller, but plot details are still under wraps for now. However, the script is in safe hands with Noah Oppenheim, who wrote the 2016 historical drama Jackie and recently co-created Netflix's political thriller Zero Day, starring Robert De Niro as former U.S. president George Mullen. Oppenheim is also producing the next Reeves and Bullock team-up with Sarah Bremner via Prologue Entertainment,...

Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves are speeding towards a “Speed” reunion exactly 30 years after the film was released. The duo, who also famously co-starred in sci-fi romance drama “The Lake House,” will be back onscreen together with an untitled thriller for Amazon MGM Studios. Keanu Reeves And Sandra Bullock Reuniting For A New Amazon MGM Romantic Thriller
Image
They've done thriller with a touch of romance in Jan de Bont's 1994 action classic Speed, and romance with a touch of thriller in Alejandro Agresti's 2006 supernatural weepy The Lake House, but now Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock are reuniting to make an out and out romantic thriller at last. Yes, per THR's reporting, Keanu and Sandy B are teaming up for the first time in nearly two decades to make an as-yet-untitled, "propulsive" new movie together for Amazon MGM Studios.

Written by Jackie scribe and Zero Day co-creator Noah Oppenheim, Bullock and Reeves' reunion feature is, you'll be delighted to hear, shrouded in secrecy at the moment: not only is the title being withheld for now, but the plot for the movie is also being kept entirely hush-hush, too. Now, on the one hand, that means that we've got very little to go on in terms of parsing...

Keanu Reeves & Sandra Bullock Reunite For New Romantic Thriller 19 Years After Last Movie Together
Image
Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock will reunite for a new romantic thriller almost two decades after their last collaboration. Released in 1994, Speed marked the first collaboration between Reeves and Bullock, with the hit action film memorably featuring a premise involving a bomb on a bus that will explode if the vehicle goes under 50mph. Reeves opted not to return for the 1997 sequel, which saw Bullock reprising her role as Annie, but the two did eventually work together in 2006 with The Lake House, a supernatural romance.

Per THR, Reeves and Bullock are now attached to star in an untitled film that is currently in development at Amazon MGM Studios. The romantic thriller will feature a script from Noah Oppenheim, who recently co-created the hit Netflix show Zero Day starring Robert De Niro. While no plot details have been shared just yet, the project has been described as "propulsive." The movie will...

Argentine director Alejandro Agresti (“The Lake House”) returns to the big screen with “Lo Que Quisimos Ser” (“What We Wanted to Be”), a touching story of two people who develop a unique relationship yet continue to long for more.

Premiering out of competition at the Malaga Film Festival, the film, set in 1998, follows a man and a woman (Luis Rubio and Eleonora Wexler) who meet for the first time outside a movie theater in Buenos Aires, where they were the only people in the audience to see Howard Hawks’ 1940 classic “His Girl Friday,” starring Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell.

They decide to go for a drink and, at her request, make up new identities for themselves, becoming who they always wanted to be: she is Irene, a romantic novelist; he is Yuri, an adventurous astronaut who grew up in Africa. Hitting it off, they decide to meet every Thursday at...

Sandra Bullock's Flop Action Comedy 'Miss Congeniality' Is a Hit on Streaming
Image
Before becoming a romcom icon, thanks to leading roles in The Proposal and The Lake House, Sandra Bullock was a bona-fide action star during the '90s and 00s, with major roles in Demolition Man, and the Speed franchise. But, one of Bullock's often-forgotten, and vastly underappreciated action flicks came six years after Speed, when Bullock starred in Miss Congeniality. For those that have never seen the action comedy, or won't pass up an opportunity for a long-overdue re-watch, it's currently a hit on streaming.

Miss Congeniality was recently added to Netflix, and flew up the streamer's Top 10 most popular movies of the week list. At the time of writing, Miss Congeniality is the 4th most popular movie on Netflix. The film sits behind Amy Schumer's latest comedy, Kinda Pregnant, in 1st, with The Menu and Back in Action in 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Severance Season 2 Features A Secret Cameo From A Hollywood A-Lister
Image
The first episode of "Severance" season 2 had the unenviable task of following the show's spectacular season 1 finale, and instead of instantly providing answers, it immerses viewers back into some of the key mysteries established in season 1. The whole episode takes place within the Lumon office, with no glimpses at the outside world or what the characters there may be getting up to. The only clues we get are through exposition given to Mark S. (Adam Scott) and the rest of the gang, who are told that their temporary escape at the end of season 1 made them famous and has led to major reforms in working conditions for severed employees.

The events of the season 1 finale are recapped in an animated corporate instructional video, which is shown to the Macrodata Refinement (or Mdr) team after they all return to the office. Anyone who's seen "The Matrix" or "John Wick" likely perked...

Why Keanu Reeves Was Not In Speed 2 And What Happened To His Jack Traven Character
Image
The original launched Keanu Reeves as an action star, but he passed on Speed 2 with good reason. While he had fronted Point Break a few years earlier, it was Speed that transformed Reeves into an action lead. The movie's success led to all the Keanu Reeves action movies that followed, but he was wise enough to pass on 1997's Speed 2: Cruise Control when it was offered. This saw Sandra Bullock return as Annie, with Jason Patric replacing Reeves as new hero Alex as the couple become trapped on a cruise ship seized by a vengeful hacker.

Speed 2 was a critical and commercial disaster, and sits at only 4% on Rotten Tomatoes and it barely recouped its budget. Bullock has confessed more than once that Cruise Control was a huge mistake, while Reeves appeared like a genius for passing on it. That's not to say his decision didn't come...

Exclusive: Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner David Auburn (Proof) has been tapped to write a new draft of Another Round, the English-language remake of Thomas Vinterberg’s Oscar-winning Danish drama from 2020, which has Chris Rock on board to direct.

Rock joined the project in January, as we were first to report. At the time, he had a draft in hand from Stuart Blumberg but was looking for another writer with which to partner. We’re told Auburn landed the job after a long search, beating out maybe 200 scribes in the process.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way Productions secured the remake rights to Another Round shortly after the film landed the Best International Feature prize at the Academy Awards. We’re told that the project is picking up steam now that Auburn is involved, though Rock did just sign on to direct and star in Misty Green, a Hollywood drama for which he wrote the script,...

Last month, Remedy revealed Fbc: Firebreak, the studio’s first multiplayer game. Now, the studio plans to integrate Alan Wake, Control, and Firebreak into one universe, creating an McU-like interconnected universe. What Remedy is trying to create here is indeed unique and it makes us wonder why other video game publishers never tried to create something like this.

Alan Wake is a game that can easily be turned into a film. Since it is a narrative-driven game, it is relatively easier to adapt it for the screen, which makes it even more enticing to do it.

Sandra Bullock sent fans into a frenzy when she admitted her massive crush on Keanu Reeves—and her absolute fear of taking it further. Yeah, they had crazy chemistry in Speed, but Bullock was all nerves when it came to getting up close and personal with Hollywood’s favorite heartthrob. She was practically starstruck!

Alan Wake Live-Action Adaptation is the Only Way Forward for Remedy’s Survival After Upsetting Financial Update
Image
Since its release almost a year ago, Alan Wake 2 has drawn people in with its cerebral narrative, oppressive atmosphere, and experimental approach to game design. It has earned tremendous praise and cultivated a cult-like following along the way.

Unfortunately, the game continues to face an uphill financial battle and be somewhat of a burden to Remedy. That said, however, there is a chance that the studio’s upcoming collaboration with Annapurna could finally be the saving grace it—and the larger connected universe—so desperately needs.

Latest Remedy Financial Report States ‘Alan Wake II’ Has Recouped Almost All Development Costs
Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves in The Lake House (2006)
Way back in August, Remedy had revealed in its financial report that Alan Wake II, despite all of its acclaim and awards, had yet to turn a profit for the developer. Flash forward to the latest financial earnings report, and things are a little better, as Alan Wake II has nearly recouped its development and marketing expenses.

While it’s still a ways off from finally giving the developer some earnings, there’s still good news as a whole for Remedy. The report highlights revenue growth of 128.6% between July and September 2024, generating €17.9 million compared to 2023’s €7.8 million in the same period. That in turn offsets the increased development fees, which were primarily driven by a Control 2 related one-time payment from Annapurna (which is working with Remedy to bring Alan Wake and Control to TV and film), as well as higher development fees from the in-development Max Payne 1&2 Remake and Control...

Taking a Closer Look at Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves’ Friendship Over the Years
Image
Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock can easily be two of the most bankable actors in the Hollywood business, with several well-acclaimed movies. But other than that, they also share a very beautiful, decades-long friendship. The duo crossed each other’s paths while working on the 1994 release Speed and have been friends ever since.

They also collaborated for a second time in the 2006 movie The Lake House, and fans wondered if there was something more to this friendship. Not so surprisingly, their camaraderie could have turned into something more in the midst of the movie, but the timing was just not right.

Alan Wake 2: The Real Horror Story About Sam Lake’s Sequel is its Financial Update Even After The Lake House Dlc
Image
When Alan Wake 2 first launched almost a year ago, it felt as though Remedy was all set for this generation, having created one of the greatest horror games of our time. But, a year later, Sam Lake’s horror masterpiece is facing a more mundane nightmare of our own reality: money, or more specifically, the lack of it.

Unfortunately, despite critical acclaim and a recent boost from The Lake House Dlc, the game has yet to generate any tangible profits for the company. For a title like Alan Wake 2, with all the decisions Remedy was forced to make with it, this lack of profitability is a bit like a jump scare we all saw coming from a mile away.

Alan Wake 2: The Lake House Dlc isn’t Subtle About its ‘Anti-Capitalistic’ Stance After Game Struggled to Make Profits
Image
Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake 2 was one of the standout titles of 2023. It captivated players and critics with its immersive storytelling, haunting visuals, and intricate gameplay mechanics. Despite this acclaim, the game struggled to achieve the commercial success that many anticipated. It faced challenges in capturing a broad audience, leading to disappointing sales figures that didn’t reflect its critical reception.

Recently, Remedy released a new Dlc for the game called The Lake House which is set against the backdrop of the eerie Cauldron Lake. This expansion delves into themes of creativity, exploitation, and the often painful relationship between art and profit. It seems that Remedy is reflecting on its own journey, which was marked by both artistic ambition and the harsh realities of the gaming market.

It’s Not a Bug: Alan Wake 2 Boss Admits the Extremely Unsettling Strategy the Game Used That Gave us Sleepless Nights

The scary element of Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake 2 is certainly much higher than its predecessor. It seems like Remedy has focused a lot on providing fans with a proper spine-chilling experience, in fact, the studio added a small creepy detail that many fans may not have even noticed.

In the game, the areas where players are not looking often change, particularly during jumpscares. Initially, many players new to horror games thought this was a bug, but it is a deliberate addition to give players a proper psychological horror experience. One of the game’s directors recently talked about this small gameplay element, also admitting that the studio might have “overdid” a bit in terms of its jump scares.

Alan Wake 2 Boss Apologizing for the Game’s “Mental Assault” on Players is a Wildly Stupid Take
Image
Alan Wake 2, the long-anticipated sequel to the 2010 psychological horror title, debuted in October 2023. The game follows two interconnected storylines involving novelist Alan Wake and FBI agent Saga Anderson. The game was met with enthusiasm from critics and players alike, shipping over 1.3 million units by February 2024.

One of the biggest talking points about Alan Wake 2 was the flashing images that developer Remedy sneaked from time to time, showing us that the monsters haunt the game and sometimes Alan himself. Even though Remedy’s boss believes the studio over-delivered on such scenes, the entire point of such a horror game is to keep us on our toes.

“The Lake House” Dlc Is a Tightly-Paced Welcome Addition to the ‘Alan Wake 2’ Mythology [Review]
Image
One of the things that makes Alan Wake 2 a masterpiece is its ability to juggle multiple tones. It’s a dark detective story. It’s a metafictional surrealist horror story. It’s got humor, scares, and even a full-on musical number. Remedy flexed their tonal muscles earlier this year with Alan Wake 2’s first Dlc, Night Springs, giving us three separate Elseworld-style stories all with their own thematic focus. These were charming little tales, but it feels like The Lake House, the game’s second and final Dlc, is the more substantial follow-up that fans of both Alan Wake and Control have been waiting for.

The story of The Lake House fills in some gaps in the main Alan Wake 2 narrative, showing how the Federal Bureau of Control ended up in Bright Falls when Alan returned. You play as the returning Agent Kieran Estevez, played by Janina Gavankar, who comes...

“Why am I even here?”: Sandra Bullock Couldn’t Believe Stephen Colbert Called Her 1 Movie ‘Stupid’ to Her Face

Sandra Bullock is no stranger to Hollywood, having starred in many movies, from comedies to thrillers, and dramas to romantic films. Although most of the 60-year-old’s films have been successful, some have been seen as completely nonsensical yet hilarious hits. But even an A-list actress like her isn’t immune to the occasional jab about her projects.

In fact, during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the actress was playfully taken aback when the host jokingly called her 2022 movie, The Lost City, “stupid” before calling it amazing. Alan Wake 2 Fans Will Return To The Game Soon As The Next Dlc's Release Date Leaks
Image
Alan Wake 2 fans have waited nearly a year to finish up the game's extended story and based on a recent leak, it seems that they'll soon be able to conclude the sequel's mysterious narrative. Alan Wake 2 has already treated fans to an extra dose of content with the Night Springs Dlc and while that was a fun distraction within the creative mind of the titular protagonist, the upcoming chapter The Lake House promises to answer more questions. Image
Quick ViewA Tale of Two PsychesThe Fragility of the Human MindA World Beyond Worlds

When Remedy Entertainment decided it was time for another twisted and gripping narrative about a troubled protagonist, Alan Wake 2 came to light. The psychological horror title is a sequel that explores Alan Wake’s journey as a writer and storyteller. Thanks to the Night Springs and The Lake House DLCs, the game feels like an ever-evolving tale to be told around a campfire in a dark (preferably haunted) forest.

If you’ve been enjoying horror games for a while now, perhaps it’s time to dive into something deeper. Something that’s not just an experience filled with jumpscare clichés and predictable plot lines. This one’s a game that feels like Remedy Entertainment’s dive into Alan Wake’s many stories as it clutches onto the remaining fragments of a broken mind.

Note: there are no spoilers for the story.
