The Hunger Games screenwriter Peter Craig is ready to dabble in one of the properties that inspired it.
Warner Bros. has tapped Craig to work on Logan's Run, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. The remake of the cult classic 1976 movie has long been in development, with X-Men: Dark Phoenix director Simon Kinberg set to helm back in 2015.
The original film from director Michael Anderson centered on Logan (Michael York), an executioner in a society that kills its citizens once they reach the age of 30 as a way of conserving resources. He ends up on the...

Ryan Condal, showrunner of the TV show Colony, is the new writer on the Logan's Run remake...
The last we heard with regards the plans to bring Logan’s Run back to the screen in a remake was that X-Men scribe Simon Kinberg was on board the movie. This is a remake that’s been in the works for a long time now, and Kinberg had penned a treatment for the film, and was stepping aboard as a producer (along with Joel Silver). this seemed to grease the proverbial wheels a little.
Now, a new writer has been hired, with the job of fleshing Kinberg’s treatment out into a full screenplay.
Ryan Condal, the co-creator and showrunner of the TV show Colony, is the man who’s landed the job. He’s also recently been working, along with Carlton Cuse, on rewriting the planned Rampage movie,...

Warner Bros. has been trying to remake Logan's Run since the mid-1990s, but for whatever reason, they just haven't been able to crack it. The remake has slipped through the hands of Bryan Singer, Ryan Gosling and Nicolas Winding Refn, Joseph Kosinski, Carl Erik Rinsch, and Bioshock's Ken Levine, but now it seems to have new life once again.
Deadline reports that Ryan Condal, the co-creator/showrunner of the USA series Colony and co-writer of the upcoming Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson movie Rampage, has been hired to write the screenplay, which will be based on a treatment written by Simon Kinberg. Kinberg will produce alongside Joel Silver (who's been attached to this project since the beginning) and Greg Berlanti, who I thought might be a little busy handling his upcoming four-show crossover on The CW.

Exclusive: Warner Bros is back on track with its long-gestating remake of the pulp sci-fi classic Logan’s Run, and has tapped USA’s Colony co-creator/showrunner Ryan Condal to write a new script. Condal will be basing his screenplay on a treatment by X-Men Apocalypse co-writer Simon Kinberg, who will be producing along with Joel Silver and DC television universe honcho Greg Berlanti. The film would be a fresh take on the 1967 novel by William F. Nolan and George Clayton J…...

"X-Men" film series producer Simon Kinberg signed on to the proposed remake of the 1970s sci-fi classic "Logan's Run" earlier this year. In a new interview with Collider, he reveals that Warner Bros. Pictures sees the property as a potential franchise launcher should the first one prove a success:
"It's something that potentially is their Hunger Games kind of franchise that is about a younger audience for a younger audience with a big idea. Logan's Run, as you know, is the granddaddy of Maze Runner and Hunger Games and so many of these books and movies now/ So yeah, [the studio is] seeing it as a potentially really big franchise."
As the film could be a potential franchise, that had to be taken into consideration when penning the screenplay says Kinberg:

Simon Kinberg confirms plans to make multiple films out of Logan's Run, as the studio eyes a new franchise...
It looks like the planned remake of Logan's Run is accelerating, with X-Men and Fantastic Four writer and producer Simon Kinberg overseeing the project. He's penned the story and treatment for the new film, which presumably will be adding further personnel shortly.
Chatting to Collider, Kinberg confirmed that "we are talking to directors for that movie", saying that the film is a priority for Warner Bros.

The one trend that threatens to overtake the remake in Hollywood's hierarchy is the cinematic franchise. However, when the two somehow collide in a perfect storm of synergy, it's a force to be reckoned with. Which means that the Logan's Run remake might be around for a while, as it's looking to branch off into multiple events. Simon Kinberg, the project's writer, said as much in a recent interview, stating that Warner Bros. has special plans for the remake of the 1976 sci-fi classic. Their reasoning is basically coming from the train of thought you'd expect, and Kinberg detailed the inspiration behind the decision in his comment below: It.s something that potentially is their Hunger Games kind of franchise that is about a younger audience for a younger audience with a big idea. "The Hunger Games" franchise comes to an end, for now, this weekend with the release of "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2," which means a void will be open for dystopian Ya fare that will need to be filled. And while the "Divergent" and "The Maze Runner" series are chugging along, they hardly match the phenomenon that Katniss and co. brought to multiplexes around the world. And if producer Simon Kinberg ("Fantastic Four," "The Martian") has his way, the long developing remake of "Logan's Run" could be the franchise to reign supreme next. Chatting with Collider, Kinberg reveals that the plans for "Logan's Run" go beyond one movie, and cites "The Hunger Games" directly as the model he and Warner Bros. are chasing. "It’s something that potentially is their 'Hunger Games' kind of franchise that is about a younger audience for a younger audience with a big idea," he explained.

Logan's Run, the iconic 1976 sci-fi film adaptation of the classic novel, is a direct precursor to all of these post-apocalyptic young adult adventures that have been all the rage since The Hunger Games came out. A remake has been in the works for at least fifteen years, and writer/producer Simon Kinberg is the latest to try to bring it to life with a new treatment. In a new interview with Collider, he spoke about how this isn't intended to only be one movie — Warner Bros. wants it to kick off a Hunger Games-style franchise:
“We are talking to directors for that movie [right now]… It definitely is [a priority for the studio]. It’s something that potentially is their Hunger Games kind of franchise that is about a younger audience for a younger audience with a big idea. From The Craft and The Birds to The Fugitive and She's All That, the many film reboots and remakes currently in the works...
Over the years that Den Of Geek has been going, we've regularly been charting the assortment of reboots and remakes that are making their way through the Hollywood system. This, then, is the current state of play. We've removed a bunch of projects that seem utterly dead - the once mooted remakes of Videodrome and Timecrimes, for instance - but we'll keep this list up to date as and when we hear of more.
Without further ado, here's what's coming up...

"I'm like a friend of the court", explains Simon Kinberg, as he talks about the genesis of the new batch of Star Wars films.
Writer/producer Simon Kinberg is already a trusted force at 20th Century Fox, helping oversee its X-Men and Fantastic Four movies. But he's also been involved with the new bunch of Star Wars films. He has Star Wars form, of course, having helped create the Star Wars Rebels animated series, before going on to produce it. But where does he fit in with regards Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One?
Chatting to Entertainment Weekly, he's shed some more light on the Star Wars process, and how he, original The Force Awakens writer Michael Arndt, and co-scribe Lawrence Kasdan helped come up with the stories. The stories that just happen to sit at the heart of the new trilogy, and Anthology films.

Sony Pictures has registered a number of BioShock movie-related domains.
Kotaku discovered that bioshock-movie.com, bioshock-movie.net, and bio-shock.net have all been snapped up by the studio in the past month.
Universal had previously been linked to an adaptation of the 2007 first-person shooter, but the project was hit with multiple setbacks, including disputes over awarding it an R rating and the departure of two directors.
Series creator Ken Levine then put a dampener on fan hopes, after admitting he had made the decision to "kill" the project last year.
" It's weird, having been a scriptwriter... begging for any rewrite of a script, to then [go to] being in the position where you're killing a movie of one of the things you've worked so much on," he told the audience at a 2013 BAFTA Q&A for BioShock Infinite.

Several years ago, Universal Pictures hired Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean) to direct a big screen adaptation of the "Bioshock" video game. The studio then quickly killed the project after the budget ballooned to $160 million and was headed for an "R" rating. A few months later, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later) stepped in to replace him, but eventually left the project as well. Then last year, "Bioshock" creator Ken Levine revealed that he personally killed the movie. Now comes word that Sony Pictures may be interested in the project, since it just registered several domain names, including Bioshock-Movie.com, Bioshock-Movie.net and Bio-Shock.net. It's not clear what this means, but Levine may have changed his mind. He has been talking about getting into screenplay writing and making an attempt at writing the "Bioshock" movie. Last March, Bioshock video game creator Ken Levine revealed that the movie adaptation of the popular game was dead, due to the box office failure of Watchmen. However, the adaptation may be back on track, with a report from Kotaku revealing that Sony Pictures has registered several web domains, including Bioshock-Movie.com, Bioshock-Movie.net and Bio-Shock.net which could hint that the movie is back on track.
The project was indefinitely delayed back in 2011, when Gore Verbinski was attached to direct, just weeks before production was scheduled to begin after the budget ballooned to over $160 million. Universal Pictures controlled the property at that time, bringing in Juan Carlos Fresnadillo to replace Gore Verbinski before he bowed out as well. Now it seems that Sony Pictures has been brought on, but there is no confirmation of the movie actually happening, aside from the web domain registrations.

Despite hearing last fall that The Outsider starring Tom Hardy in the film directed by Takashi Miike (Ichi the Killer, 13 Assassins) was moving forward with Worldview Entertainment financing and producing the film, it appears the project has lost both talents. Twitch is reporting that Hardy backed out of the project, and while the hunt is on for a new leading man, the production delay has also caused Miike to drop from the production, due to other commitments in 2014. That means The Outsider is now looking for a new director as well. That's a real bummer, because Miike and Hardy working together sounded pretty great. However, he won't stay away from action for long since THR has word that Elba is set to star in Bastille Day, a CIA thriller written by Andrew Baldwin, a writer who has had two scripts show up on The Black List and was once writing the remake of Logan's Run for Nicolas Winding Refn. Taken director Pierre Morel was once on board to to direct, but right now the position is still open, meaning it won't be Elba's next project. Read on! The planned remake of Logan's Run is getting a bit of help from the man who created the Bioshock gaming franchise...
The planned new big screen take on Logan's Run has been through development hell for some time, with no shortage of people trying to get it off the ground in the time we've been running this site. Joel Silver, Bryan Singer, Ryan Gosling and Nicolas Winding Refn are amongst the names that have been attached to the film in the past.
Now, though, it seems that the new Logan's Run has fresh impetus, courtesy of the news that Ken Levine has been hired to write the script for it. Levine is the man credited with created the Bioshock videogame franchise, Levine has a background in playwriting and screenwriting, and reports describe Logan's Run as a "passion project" for him.
This doesn't mean that Levine is leaving videogames behind.

Finally some major progress on the long-awaited Logan's Run remake. Warner Bros has been developing a reboot of the sci-fi classic Logan's Run, based on the 1967 novel turned into a 1976 movie. It initially had Nicolas Winding Refn attached for years, but he's no longer on-board and seemed pessimistic when I asked him about it in my interview. Deadline is reporting they've lined up a big name from the video game world to write a new script for the sci-fi remake - Ken Levine, the creative director and co-founder of Irrational Games, behind the incredible BioShock series. Levine was named one of the "Storytellers of the Decade" by Game Informer. His career began as a screenwriter and playwright and he's venturing back for this project. The news only mentions that Levine has been hired to "write the screenplay" for the studio. That's all they say besides all the basic details about the Logan's Run project,...

Dredd 3D screenwriter Alex Garland is set to make his directorial debut with the sci-fi thriller Ex Machina for DNA Films.
Alex Garland wrote the screenplay which centers on a billionaire programmer who chooses one of his young employees to spend a week at his lavish estate and test his latest creation: the world's first artificially intelligent female robot.
Scott Rudin and Eli Bush are producing alongside DNA Films' Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich. Production is slated to begin in either the summer or fall on a $15 million budget. This project is unrelated to another project entitled Ex Machina, based on the Brian K. Vaughan and Tony Harris comic book about a superhero who becomes mayor of New York City.
Alex Garland wrote the novel that Danny Boyle's The Beach was based on, before making the transition to screenwriting. His other screenwriting credits include 28 Days Later, Sunshine, and Never Let Me Go.

Nicolas Winding Refn's in-development Barbarella series adds Bond writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade...
In addition to his Logan's Run remake, Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn has been motoring through another classic sci-fi revival project, a TV adaptation of Roger Vadim's sixties camp-fest Barbarella.
Originally based on the graphic novel series by Jean-Claude Forest, Vadim's film starred Jane Fonda as the pneumatic lead, a "space-age adventuress" who, between "sex-ploits", is tasked with stopping evil weapons inventor Durand Durand.
Winding Refn first announced his Barbarella plans last summer, and now has enlisted the writing talents of regular Bond scribes Neal Purvis and Robert Wade (Casino Royale, Skyfall) to work on the script.
As there's been no word on potential casting yet, would anyone care to join us in a lunchtime round of 'Who could be Jane Fonda?' To get us started, let's remind...

With Nicolas Winding Refn exiting "The Equalizer" with Denzel Washington, and losing bromatic collaborator Ryan Gosling for "Logan's Run," it might seem that the director is suddenly adrift. But in his back pocket is the "Babarella" TV series reboot, which he signed on to last summer, and it seems things are moving foward on that project with a couple of big names coming on board. "Skyfall" writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade have signed on to write the show and character that Gaumont International Television and producer Martha De Laurentiis are reconfiguring for a new generation. For those of you who may be too young to remember, Jane Fonda skyrocketed to fame playing the 41st century astronaut in Roger Vadim's 1968 movie, and the goal is keep things equally alluring. “I’m certain that the combination of our creative forces will produce a show that is as enthralling as it is sexy,...

In December, we reported the exciting news that Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn was in talks to direct Denzel Washington in an adaptation of the 1980s crime series, The Equalizer. The show centered on Robert McCall (originally played by Edward Woodward), a former covert operations officer who dedicated his life to helping people in trouble. Washington will play McCall in the adaptation, although the movie will only share the conceit of the show. Unfortunately, we've learned that while Sony was close to closing a deal with Refn, the deal fell apart at the last minute due to unknown reasons. We've also learned that Sony remains hot on adapting The Equalizer, and is continuing to search for a new director to start shooting in May with Washington still attached to star. If you want to get a better sense of the TV series, hit the jump to see the intro for The Equalizer.

A couple of years ago, Sony was looking to remake The Equalizer TV series as a feature film with Russell Crowe attached to star. The project had been in development for a while, but in the wake of The A-Team movie, it was re-energized following a sudden surge of interest in '80s TV properties. Since then, Denzel Washington has taken over the lead role instead of Russell Crowe with Richard Wenk (The Expendables 2, The Mechanic) writing the script. After almost a year without any updates on this project, this week it appears that they have finally found a director: Drive helmer Nicolas Winding Refn. The series ran on CBS in the late '80s and starred Edward Woodward as a retired spy named Robert McCall who offers his services free of charge to those in need. Not only is the premise somewhat similar to The A-Team, but it...

1.) Drive helmer Nicolas Winding Refn is in discussions with Sony to direct The Equalizer. The adaptation of the '80s TV show and potential franchise will star Denzel Washington as a former CIA operative now working as a private investigator as a way to redeem himself for his dark past. Refn's next film, the Ryan Gosling-led Only God Forgives, will debut this spring, while Sony has already set an April 11, 2014 for The Equalizer. I'm also guessing this move will spell further delays for Refn's long-gestating remake of Logan's Run. Variety 2.) Although Christoph Waltz was originally attached for one of the major human roles in the currently Untitled Muppets Sequel, but that deal fell through and Disney has replaced him with "Modern Family" star Ty Burrell. While Jason Segel isn't returning for the sequel, director James Bobin and writer Nicholas Stoller are. The film is scheduled to shoot in London this winter,...

Clearly Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn has been keeping a clone of himself stashed in the closet. It's the only way to explain his manic work schedule. Currently wrapping up bits and bobs on his post-Drive effort Only God Forgives, Refn is already attached to a long gestating reboot of Logan's Run, sex thriller I Walk With The Dead, a television reboot of Barbarella, and a pair of untitled projects - one a thriller, one a comedy - as a director. Plus he's involved in a few more - a remake of Maniac Cop, for one - as a producer. You'd think his schedule would be full. But no.You can add one more to the mix, Deadline reporting that Refn is entering negotiations to direct...

We can't quite say we saw this coming. As Nicolas Winding Refn puts the finishing touches to his "Drive" follow-up, "Only God Forgives," many had assumed that he would move on to his "Logan's Run" remake with Bff Ryan Gosling. But the actor recently departed the project, and one perhaps suspects that Refn's lost his taste for the film as a result, as word's been very quiet on it late. But it looks like the director's next film will be a studio movie after all, rather than "I Walk With The Dead" with Carey Mulligan. But it won't be "The Button Man," a thriller set up at DreamWorks, and it won't be "Logan's Run." Instead, Refn's teaming up with a major A-lister, taking the helm on Sony's remake of 1980s TV series "The Equalizer," which will star Denzel Washington. Back in the summer, he was one of a number of...

Looks like Ryan Gosling is going to be staying away from big studio blockbusters for at least a couple more years. Last year he signed on to star in a remake of the sci-fi classic Logan's Run for Warner Brothers, which was potentially going to be his first headlining role in a big budget tentpole. It didn't seem like the kind of project that he would normally be interested in, but having Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn at the helm probably helped get him on board. Now this month we have learned that although Refn is still attached to direct, Gosling will not be starring in the film after all. What we don't know is whether he left on his own terms or if Warner Brothers opted to go with someone else instead. The news comes courtesy of Variety's Justin Kroll on Twitter, who simply tweeted that Gosling is "no longer attached to the project.

Busy acting in films, not to mention moonlightning as the boyfriend of our dreams and the dude all dudes want to be friends with, Ryan Gosling has pulled out of what would have been his third collaboration with Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn, without explanation at this point, although we're going to imagine scheduling proved to be an issue.
Announced back in February 2011, before the world had even laid eyes on Gosling and Refn's visceral Drive, the popular Canadian had signed on to star as the lead in big-budget studio remake of 1976's sci-fi tale Logan's Run, which would have represented his first time as the main guy in a tentpole film but alas, it wasn't meant to be.

Looks like Ryan Gosling is no longer attached to star in Nicolas Winding Refn's remake of Logan's Run. The news comes from Variety's Justin Kroll via his Twitter, but there is no reason given as to why. It makes me wonder if Refn is actually still attached to direct. Most of the time it ends up being scheduling conflicts.
I was looking forward to seeing Gosling in this film, but maybe he's found something better to do. It will be interesting to see who gets hired to replace him. The story takes place in a future society that demands the death of everyone upon reaching a certain age. Anyone who veers from that destiny is dubbed a "runner" and is hunted by operatives known as Sandmen. Logan is a Sandman who is forced to go on the run.
Who do you think would make a good replacement for Gosling in this film?...

Have you lost that loving feeling, Nicolas Winding Refn? According to reports, the bromance between Ryan Gosling and the Danish film director won't be continuing for the upcoming Logan's Run remake. Variety's Justin Kroll tweeted the update, saying, "Rough news for those Logan's Run fans, I can confirm Ryan Gosling is no longer attached to the project." We're still taking it with a grain of salt for now. Refn will direct the futuristic script from Will Beall about a dystopian society that dispatches with people when they reach the age of 30 as a means of controlling the population and preserving limited resources. Logan 5 is a fugitive known as a Sandman, who runs for his life to avoid execution. Gosling was set to play the lead...

Though it has been years in development, it looks like Nicolas Winding Refn's remake of Logan's Run starring his Drive star Ryan Gosling has hit a snag, namely because Gosling has apparently dropped out of the production. Variety's Justin Kroll confirmed that Gosling dropped out in a tweet yesterday, but didn't get into why the actor dropped out. There are, of course, a number of reasons why Gosling may have dropped out. He's certainly got a busy schedule as one of the most in-demand actors working right now. It's possible his exit may be a result of an unavoidable scheduling conflict. Refn still remains attached to the project and is still aiming to shoot next year. In the meanwhile, fans of the Gosling-Refn combo can take solace in Only God...

Breakups are never easy. That's why we're hoping that Ryan Gosling leaving Warner Bros' adaptation of "Logan's Run" doesn't mean the end of his collaborations with director Nicolas Winding Refn.
Variety's Justin Kroll tweeted out yesterday that the star had severed ties to the sci-fi film.
"Rough news for those Logan's Run fans, I can confirm Ryan Gosling is no longer attached to the project," he wrote.
"Logan's Run" was set to be the third collaboration for Gosling and Refn, who had previously worked on "Drive" and the yet-to-be-released "Only God Forgives." For a while, the two were looking like best buds, set on making visual, violent films together forever, but that sadly seems like it's not the case.
While Kroll's tweet didn't precede a full article on the news, The Playlist had a number of well-reasoned theories for why Gosling walked away. As this would be a rather high-profile adaptation for Warner Bros.

Although Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn had hoped to lead Ryan Gosling into bigger-budget tentpole waters, nuzzling the flighty Gosling into his long-developing remake of Logan's Run for Warner Bros., it seems that Gosling has now finally waddled astray, quacking off to smaller ponds. ["Gosling" means "a young goose"!—ed.] Variety's Justin Kroll reports that Gosling has left the sci-fi film he was attached to star in for Refn, which would have continued a relationship that has also so far produced the upcoming Only God Forgives and quotes like this one where Refn tells Gosling to call him ...

1.) I didn't really mind X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Everyone else seemed to hate it. That's fine. Now a sequel to the film everyone hated is on the way and with the new picture of Hugh Jackman sporting some bone claws as the title character in the pages of Empire magazine, director James Mangold reveals that while the first film may have been considered a prequel to all the other X-Men features, The Wolverine is not. Mangold told the mag, "Where this film sits in the universe of the films is after them all. Jean Grey Famke Janssen is gone, most of the X-Men are disbanded or gone, so there's a tremendous sense of isolation for him... I wanted to be able to tell the story without the burden of handing it off to a film that already exists and having to conform to it. The ideas of immortality reign very heavily...

After Drive, it looked like director Nicolas Winding Refn and actor Ryan Gosling would be constant partners since they were both doing Only God Forgives and then the remake of Logan's Run. It looks like that partnership will be taking a break after Only God Forgives. Variety's Justin Kroll has tweeted that Gosling has left the remake of Logan's Run. Before everyone starts speculating on a falling out between Refn and Gosling, there are numerous reasons why Gosling might have dropped off Logan's Run. Hit the jump for more. As The Playlist points out, there are multiple reasons why Gosling departed Logan's Run. First, Warner Bros. may have gotten skittish about placing what will likely be a tentpole sci-fi action movie on the shoulders of Gosling, who has never opened a blockbuster before, although everyone has to start somewhere, and it's not like he's a stranger to mainstream movies. He's...

Ryan Gosling is no longer attached to star in the remake of Logan's Run. This would've been Gosling's first attempt at carrying a big-budget, tentpole movie, after years of turning down such roles. Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn, with whom Gosling also worked on the upcoming Only God Forgives, is still onboard to direct. There's no word yet on why Gosling left, but we suspect he was too busy starring in all of our dreams.

After bonding hard on the stylish neo-noir film Drive, Ryan Gosling and Nicolas Winding Refn seemed all set to revive their bromance on not one but two more movies, with plans to make both the Thai-boxing thriller Only God Forgives and the big studio remake of Logan's Run, which was set up at Warner Bros. But with Only God Forgives almost completed, that second reunion seems to have been scrapped. Here's the news, a tweet from Variety's Justin Kroll: There's no more reason given, but Gosling-- as you would expect for an up-and-coming star-- has a pretty busy schedule ahead of him. He's planning a spring start date for his directorial debut, a fantasy noir that will star his Drive co-star Christina Hendricks (more famous as Joan on Mad Men), and he's also been eyed by his Crazy, Stupid, Love directors to reunite with his co-star Emma Stone in their...

Is the magic already gone between Ryan Gosling and Nicolas Winding Refn? Will "Drive" and "Only God Forgives" be the only record of their bromance that captivated the cinematic world? This much is certain: Gosling will no longer be starring in the long-developing "Logan's Run" remake. The news comes from a tweet by Variety's Justin Kroll, without any other context, so allow us to speculate. We'd wager that this is being viewed as a big tentpole picture for Warner Bros., and to be fair, for all his popularity, Gosling still isn't quite at the level to open a movie to big numbers. He has mostly been a player in indie movies or prestige projects, and his dalliances with mainstream fare for WB ("Crazy Stupid Love," "Gangster Squad") are essentially ensemble pictures that surround him with bigger names. Simply put, he hasn't led a $100 million movie on his own, and as studios are ever more wary,...

Director Nicolas Winding Refn won't do a sequel to Drive, but is exploring possible new spin-offs for the character of the Driver
Nicolas Winding Refn has both put the brakes on Ryan Gosling's enigmatic wheel-man from last year's Drive purring back onto the big screen, and fuelled speculation he's already drawn up a road map for his return.
"That is never going to happen," said Winding Refn, when asked by the Evening Standard about the possibility of a Drive sequel. "But the character of the Driver might return in another film. We're playing with that idea. We'll see what happens."
James Sallis, who wrote the novella on which the original film was based, has already published a sequel, Driven, which takes place seven years later. But Refn's comments suggest he might be unhappy with the steering Sallis's book puts on the Driver – and his girlfriend.
