Shame The Music These Days Is So Crap

Rage was so much better in the 80's and 90's even early 2000's, its such a shame that there's so much crap so called music being played these days.

They need to play more of the classics back when the world wasn't so talentless & simple.

Rage great Gauge and Unbeatable Music Video Show

Rage is Advertising free on The Peoples TV network not some media moguls toy.

Rage, therefore, is not beholden to play advertisers releases and their parent companies influences.

Rage plays a wide range of music that, yes, unashamedly plays the occasional crap Aussie new release - at least it proves its independence!

At the risk of stating the obvious. It's "prime time" (breakfast time)is taken up by the Top 50. Think about it - the Top 50 SINGLES sold. Such sales have had a real ability to be manipulated in the past - I once bought a new release I wanted for 50 cents (a 2 week special price) - it shot to the top of the charts. Dah! Byers of SINGLES are largely kids and fans and maybe if the album is largely crap. Byers of ALBUMS are very different, in that they are a far more diverse group, than single byers. People including me.

Since Rage began in 1987 I have seen the evolution of music forms. I am right now watching some fat under understandable bros wrapping some crapping with, what looks like, condoms on their heads... but someone buys it. It's all good to see the changing form over time (opps Delta Goodrams apparently permanent place in the Top 40 'Together we are one' seems to never move :)

The key is variety; and this shows links with ABCs JJJ radio and others enabling it to showcase up-and-coming artists which, when it all comes down to it, is what keeps Rage cutting edge!

    The best music show ever

Rage would undoubtedly be the best music show ever made. They play all the latest music videos plus have all the greatest bands come in and host the show every now and then and let them choose their favourite music videos of all time. Each week they also do the nationwide top 50 countdown of the highest selling CD singles for the week. They have had bands and artists such as Marilyn Manson, Hole, Blink 182, Muse, Jane's Addiction, Kylie Minogue, Coldplay, Fatboy Slim and many others come in to host the show. Rage would also be the longest running free to air music video show in the world with runtimes which usually consist of 12 hours straight at times.

The best music video show on Australian TV, until....

....The Top 50 comes on. Then it becomes seriously bogged down with banality. Wipe that smile off your face, you!. ;)

Whilst Rage's quality control, on what ends up on the screen, isn't exactly "controlled", it at least provides one with a heads-up on music that might actually be good out there (just not frequently played). Until the Top 50 starts.... Then we're given a view into the minds of Ritalin-munchers. ;)

Besides, this thing runs from midnight to dawn. Normal people are in bed, sleeping or doing other things that run under the category of "having a life", as difficult as that is for people who have a "left" or "right" wing media mentality to understand.... ;)
