One Tree Hill

FAQ

The following FAQ entries may contain spoilers. Only the biggest ones (if any) will be covered with spoiler tags. It is assumed that no one who is diligently avoiding spoilers will be visiting this page in the first place.

The show was originally going to be called Ravens because the show often focused around the local, high school basketball team, the Ravens, but the network asked Mark Schwann, the creator, to change the name because it sounded too sports-centered.

The name "One Tree Hill" is named after a song written by the band U2. Later, in Season 1, Karen says, "There is only one Tree Hill - and it's your home."

You can find every song ever played on One Tree Hill at http://www.oth-music.com. Also at http://cwtv.com/music/one-tree-hill & http://www.what-song.com/Tvshow/95/One-Tree-Hill

It is commonly said that Season 1 takes place during the first semester of their Junior years in high school, while Season 2 takes place during their second semester as Juniors. Like Seasons 1 and 2, Season 3 takes place during the first semester of their Senior years, while Season 4 would take place during their second semester.

In Season 5, the show took a four year jump into the future, and the characters are already past their college years.

The original theme song and credits were removed in Season 5 due to the discretion of The CW.

Now, the 'black credits,' which state the words "One Tree Hill" on a black screen, appear in every episode. The 'black credits' were previously used for episodes that featured sensitive or violent subjects, or if an episode was too long.

No, as of February 24, 2009, One Tree Hill was renewed for a 7th season, by The CW. Season 7 is set to premiere in Fall 2009.
