I, Robot

$353M Will Smith Movie’s Creepiest AI Prediction Comes to Life in Viral Video
Image
I, Robot is undoubtedly one of the most memorable movies in Will Smith’s career. Despite many criticisms surrounding its plot, Smith’s performance and the visuals garnered praise. Interestingly, a new viral video featuring a headless robot in San Francisco has brought back some of the creepiest moments from I, Robot.

Will Smith’s 2004 movie was set in 2035. It showed a world where high-tech robots took over major public service positions worldwide, working under the Three Laws of Robotics to keep humanity safe. However, a big conspiracy is unveiled when Smith’s Spooner looks into the mysterious death of the founder of U.S. Robotics.

“The show felt insanely cozy for a sci-fi”: ‘Firefly’ Can Return Like ‘Star Trek: Tng’ But I’m 100% Convinced It Just Won’t Be the Same
Image
It’s true that Firefly was taken off television too soon, and the Browncoats will never forgive Fox for that. For years, fans and stars of the show did their best to convince the studio to bring it back. However, we’re still stuck with the 14 episodes that ran for a single season back in 2002. Some fans have suggested a modern revival of the show.

Their plan is that Firefly will return to the screen like Star Trek: The Next Generation, which continued the legacy of the original Star Trek series with a new cast. However, I can tell you that it is a risky gamble and has a high chance of falling apart.

Fox canceled Nathan Fillion’s show after airing just eleven episodes. On paper, Fox couldn’t justify the huge budget of the show with its below-average ratings. Without giving it another chance, Fox decided to pull...

Alan Tudyk Instantly Regretted Taking Shots at Netflix’s ‘Cowboy Bebop’ After What Happened to Firefly
Image
If you haven’t noticed it yet, Alan Tudyk has been a champion for the Firefly revival in the last decade. Tudyk talks about his canceled space western whenever he gets the chance during interviews. Even though he realizes that his character might not return due to his death in the film Serenity, the actor wants the audience to experience Firefly all over again.

Tudyk’s Hoban “Wash” Washburne was the pilot of the spaceship Serenity, where Nathan Fillion’s Malcolm Reynolds served as the captain. The adventures of the group of misfits, led by Mal, will get anyone hooked on the single-season run of the series.

5 Reasons Why ‘Murderbot’ Is Different Than Your Usual Sci-Fi Robot TV Shows
Image
While the streaming giants battle it out with quantity, Apple is playing a different game—quality over everything. Each release feels like an event. Whether it’s a gut-punching drama, a feel-good comedy, or a twist-filled thriller, Apple TV+ keeps delivering gold.

Beyond just TV, it’s prestige storytelling wrapped in cinematic brilliance. You might come for the star-studded cast, but you’ll stay for the stories that hit hard, linger long, and leave you waiting for the next drop.

One of their newest teases has been about a robot that has gained a conscience and is living among humans who use him as a tool; it doesn’t sound like a fresh premise, right? Well, that’s where Apple TV does its magic. The show is not just a sci-fi thriller now; they introduced quirky dialogues and humor, and watching the trailer that they dropped, it looks quite different...

‘Five Nights at Freddy’s 2’ Trailer Brings the Mayhem as Blumhouse Unveils New ‘M3gan 2.0’ and ‘Black Phone 2’ Footage at CinemaCon
Image
Jason Blum’s house runneth over at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. Horror label Blumhouse brought four new films to tantalize global theater owners on Tuesday, which will roll out steadily through 2025.

The titles feature homicidal robot girls, murderous animatronic mascots, a jacked and terrifying (and undead?) Ethan Hawke and a sentient sex doll. It’s what we love and expect from the producer of “Whiplash” and “BlacKkKlansman.”

This is the first time Blumhouse has presented to exhibitors since merging with horror company Atomic Monster, founded by “The Conjuring” and “Insidious” mastermind James Wan.

Here’s a rundown of the Blumhouse wares:

Five Night’s at Freddy’s 2

Blum himself kicked off his section of the Universal presentation dressed as the titular animatronic bear, Freddy. He pumped up the crowd of exhibitors by revealing that “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2” will debut exclusively in theaters in December.

Quick LinksWho is Netflix's Cassandra?Cassandra Doesn't Get a Happy EndingCassandra Has a Deeper Story Than M3GAN

The following contains spoilers for Cassandra, now streaming on Netflix.

One of the best horror movies of 2023 is the action-packed M3GAN. It mixes together many concepts that play on artificial intelligence and the robot apocalypse, such as Terminator and I, Robot. The movie also riffs on killer dolls such as Chucky.

In 2025, Netflix does its own take on the concept with the German series, Cassandra. While many viewers haven't seen or heard of Cassandra, it's worth watching due to how it makes M3GAN's dark storyline more personal and heartbreaking.

10 Best Anime That Completed Their Story in the Past 5 Years (& Where to Stream Them)
Image
It's sometimes a rare treat to see an anime series actually finish its story, since it's rather common for an anime to either go on hiatus or never finish the original manga's story at all. Recent anime titles, meanwhile, haven't even had a chance to finish their stories yet, such as My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen, so anime fans end up with a lot of unfinished stories. However, there are some wonderful exceptions to that trend.

In past decades, fantastic anime like Neon Genesis Evangelion and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood finished their stories, and more recently, other great anime titles have done the same. From 2020 to the present, fun anime series in all different genres crossed the finish line and aired their final seasons or concluded with anime movies. Anime fans can either watch these series for the first time or revisit them so they can get a complete viewing experience.

Will Smith Reveals Plans To Cast Zendaya In ‘Hancock’ Sequel

Will Smith is on the path to bringing back some of his most iconic movies, including ‘I Am Legend’ – idea is reportedly being developed with ‘Creed’s’ Michael Jordan – ‘Hitch’ and ‘Hancock.’

Will Smith's 5 Best Sci-Fi Movies Ranked
Image
Will Smith is a bonafide movie star, and you don't get to become a movie star if you're not multi-faceted. Smith's career is one that clearly demonstrates his versatility and then some; he's got a physicality and swagger that lends itself easily to an action film lead, as seen in the "Bad Boys" franchise as well as movies like "Suicide Squad" and "Bright." He has the emotional depth and soulfulness to take on a variety of dramatic roles, as in "King Richard," "The Pursuit of Happyness," "Ali," and "Six Degrees of Separation." He also has a natural comic timing — honed during his years starring on the wildly successful sitcom "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" — which crops up in many of his performances, but has also led to winning leading roles in the rom-com "Hitch" and Disney live-action remake "Aladdin."

Despite his considerable range and his continued appeal, Smith has one...

10 Best Sci-Fi Books Of All Time, Ranked
Image
Art carries with it a reflection of the world. The media we make, whether the times are turbulent or peaceful, shows us who we are, or were, or what could be, and it's almost always political. Science fiction is even more political by nature, as it draws from big ideas about technology and its applications, or arguments about gender and individuality, or how we treat an alien people we barely understand. These concepts are derided by misinformed individuals as 'woke,' as if cultural and social awareness is some disease, but these individuals also like to act as if 'woke' is some recent phenomena.

Unfortunately, this behavior is generational, as some of science fiction's greatest minds often had to obscure their identity as they were -- gasp! -- female, such as James Tiptree Jr. (Alice Sheldon) or C.J. Cherryh, or numerous people of color, like the Hugo-winning Samuel R. Delany.

Will Smith's $353 Million Isaac Asimov Sci-Fi Adaptation Is Coming to Peacock
Image
I, Robot, the 2004 Will Smith-led film that takes its name from Isaac Asimov’s 1950 collection of short stories, is headed to Peacock. Starting Feb. 1, viewers will be able to stream I, Robot, which was nominated for a 2005 Oscar for Best Achievement in Visual Effects.

The film, which also starred Bridget Moynahan, James Cromwell, Bruce Greenwood, and Resident Alien’s Alan Tudyk made $353 million at the worldwide box office against a budget of $120 million. The film currently has a 57% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 70% Popcornmeter Score based on more than a quarter of a million ratings.

When the film was first released, some fans had issues with it since it shares the title with the first of Asimov’s Robot book series and includes Asimov’s three laws of robotics. However, the movie does not share many similarities with any of the author’s works beyond that.

Oscar-Winning Writer John Ridley Adapting Isaac Asimov's Sci-Fi Novel 'The Caves of Steel'
Image
Another classic Isaac Asimov science fiction novel is getting a live-action adaptation, with a crack duo of writers bringing The Caves of Steel to the big screen. Isaac Asimov is one of the most prolific sci-fi writers of all-time, alongside other notable authors in the genre, like William Gibson, Frank Herbert, Richard Matheson, and Gene Wolfe. Many of his works have been adapted to the big and small screen in the past, including Apple TV+'s Foundation, the Will Smith-led I, Robot, and Bicentennial Man starring Robin Williams.

Per Deadline, Asimov's 1953 sci-fi detective novel, The Caves of Steel is being adapted into a feature film. The movie is in the early stages of development, but the project has found its writers. John Ridley, the Oscar-winning screenwriter behind 12 Years a Slave, is teaming up with Cheo Hodari Coker to co-write the script. 12 Years a Slave writer John Ridley is adapting Isaac Asimov’s Caves of Steel novel for 20th Century Studios
Image
John Ridley, the screenwriter behind features like 12 Years a Slave, Needle in a Timestack, and Ben-Hur, and comics like Gcpd: The Blue Wall, The Other History of the DC Universe, and Black Panther, wants to break into the Isaac Asimov business. Deadline announced today that Ridley will adapt Asimov’s 1954 sci-fi novel Caves of Steel, otherwise known as the first installment of the prolific author’s Robots series. Joining Ridley to help create a draft of the script is Marvel’s Luke Cage alum Cheo Hadari Coker.

Here’s a synopsis for Isaac Asimov’s Caves of Steel courtesy of Amazon:

A millennium into the future two advancements have altered the course of human history: the colonization of the galaxy and the creation of the positronic brain. John Ridley Developing ‘Caves Of Steel’ Film Based On Isaac Asimov Sci-Fi Novel For 20th Century Studios
Image
Exclusive: John Ridley, the Oscar winner behind 12 Years a Slave, is developing a feature take on Isaac Asimov’s 1954 sci-fi novel The Caves of Steel for 20th Century Studios, Deadline can reveal.

Ridley plans to direct Caves of Steel, having written the most recent draft of the script with Cheo Hodari Coker, the multi-hyphenate best known for creating Marvel’s recent Luke Cage series.

A landmark work of science fiction, which is the first in Asimov’s Robot series, The Caves of Steel introduces readers to a future Earth where humanity has retreated into vast, domed cities — known as the “Caves of Steel” — to escape the harshness of the outside world. The story follows Elijah Baley, a New York City detective who is reluctantly partnered with R. Daneel Olivaw, a humanoid robot, to solve the high-profile murder of a “Spacer” scientist. As Baley navigates the investigation, tensions arise between Earth’s overcrowded, robot-wary society and the more advanced Spacer civilizations, which embrace robotic integration.

Previously, BBC adapted the novel for television, with radio and game adaptations also emerging. Sources said Ridley’s film may also take inspiration from The Caves of Steel‘s sequels, The Naked Sun and The Robots of Dawn.

For Asimov, the Robot series captured a longtime interest in artificial intelligence, which produced his influential “Three Laws of Robotics.” Introduced in his 1942 short story “Runaround,” these laws have become a framework for discussing AI ethics and the challenges of programming intelligent systems to interact safely and effectively with humans.

Asimov’s “Three Laws” are discussed in I, Robot, the 2004 film starring Will Smith, which took inspiration (and its name) from the Russian-born author’s collection of short stories, published in 1950. One of the most prolific and influential writers in the history of science fiction, Asimov is also well known for his Foundation series, exploring the rise and fall of civilizations across a galactic empire, which inspired the Apple series, heading into its third season. Notably, he also co-wrote 1992’s The Positronic Man, which was adapted into the 1999 film Bicentennial Man starring Robin Williams.

Ridley won an Oscar for writing Steve McQueen’s 12 Years a Slave, earning three Emmy nominations for his work on American Crime, the anthology he created for ABC. Most recently, he wrote, directed, and produced Shirley, a biopic of the United States’ first Black congresswoman, Shirley Chisholm, for Netflix, which starred Academy Award winner Regina King. As a director, his other credits include series like Five Days at Memorial, Godfather of Harlem, Guerrilla and Let It Fall: Los Angeles 1982-1992, as well as 2013’s Jimi: All Is by My Side. Ridley is also known for his work with DC Comics including “The Other History of the DC Universe,” “Gcpd: The Blue Wall,” and the recently released “Justice League: The Atom Project #1.”

Most recently writing on and co-producing Paris Barclay’s doc Billy Preston: That’s the Way God Planned It on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee of the same name, Coker has also worked on films like Notorious and Creed II, along with Southland, Ray Donovan and other series.

Ridley is repped by Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Rohner Walerstein; Coker by CAA and Literate Management/Production.

However, whilst the version of Clayface in Creature Commandos was certainly a terrifying version of the character, making him the murderous monster we have seen him mostly portrayed as in the comics, it isn’t the best version we have seen put on screen. That came in Harley Quinn, where Tudyk voiced a comedic version of the character alongside performing as The Joker and numerous minor characters throughout the show's now 5-season run.

Will Smith’s $1.66B Action Franchise Climbing Streaming Charts 27 Years After Launching
Image
As he continues to find success with one of his ongoing movie series, a Will Smith franchise is finding renewed success on streaming. Since his breakout turn with The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Smith has found widespread success both as a blockbuster actor and a prestige actor. This, in turn, has netted him four Oscar nominations and one win for Best Actor for King Richard, as well as seven Golden Globe nominations and one win for Best Actor for the same Venus and Serena Williams biopic.

When it comes to his blockbuster productions, Smith has been the face of both a variety of one-off titles and major franchises. Some of the more notable include Roland Emmerich's Independence Day, which helped cement him as a major box office name, 2004's I, Robot and 2007's I Am Legend adaptation. The Michael Bay-helmed Bad Boys movies marked Smith's first venture into the world of franchise storytelling,...

Akiva Goldsman Had Two Cameos In Star Trek Before He Started Writing Episodes
Image
Akiva Goldsman has had many highs and many lows in his Hollywood screenwriting career. The scribe won an Academy Award in 2001 for writing "A Beautiful Mind," but he had previously been nominated for Razzies (honoring the worst in filmmaking) for writing the screenplays to "A Time to Kill" and the atrocious "Batman & Robin." He's been deeply involved in major blockbusters and media franchises, writing "The Da Vinci Code," 1998's "Lost in Space," and "The Divergent Series: Insurgent." He also penned "I, Robot," "I Am Legend," and most recently, "The Dark Tower."

Since 2017, Goldsman has fallen in with the head honchos at "Star Trek," serving as one of the franchise's executive producers and writing multiple episodes of "Star Trek: Discovery," "Star Trek: Picard," and "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds." He has also directed five episodes, embracing his new place atop the "Trek" heap. Goldsman is also working on other projects...

Margot Robbie Thinks Babylon is Our Generation’s Fight Club That Was Misunderstood: ‘I wonder if in 20 years people are gonna be like…’
Image
Margot Robbie had Babylon on her mind and a bold take to share. She believed the chaotic, polarizing flick was the Fight Club of our generation—misunderstood on arrival but destined for cult status. While critics and audiences clashed over its wild narrative and unfiltered excess, Robbie stood firm, comparing its divisive reception to David Fincher’s now-iconic masterpiece.

Sure, the box office numbers didn’t scream success, but like Fight Club, this chaotic ode to old Hollywood might just be waiting for the world to catch up.

Babylon’s Fight Club Moment: Margot Robbie Says Time Will Prove the Critics Wrong A still from Babylon | Credits: Paramount Pictures

Margot Robbie didn’t mince words when she compared Babylon to Fight Club. Speaking about the polarizing reception of Damien Chazelle’s unhinged Hollywood epic, Robbie wondered aloud if, years from now,...

Casting Clayface For A Live-Action Movie (The Batman 2 or DC Universe)
Image
Of all the Batman villains that have yet to be adapted into a live-action movie, Clayface presents some of the most interesting potential for casting. The villain Clayface has been rumored to appear as the villain of Matt Reeves' The Batman - Part II, though his monstrous appearance and impressive superpowers might make him a better fit for the Dcu continuity in Batman: The Brave and the Bold. In the comics, Clayface has a variety of origins, most of which involve a failed actor whose body becomes transformed into a mutant sludge monster.

There are several directions a live-action version of Clayface could go in. Obviously, actors experienced in motion-capture work could do wonders for the character, able to effectively provide frame data for a terrifying CGI appearance. However, other casting choices could lean into Clayface's origins as an actor, emphasizing his ability to shapeshift into different people rather than...

In a thrilling update for sci-fi enthusiasts, Warner Bros. has announced plans to remake the 1956 film ‘Forbidden Planet,’ according to Deadline.

This ambitious project will see comic book writer Brian K. Vaughan, celebrated for his work on titles like ‘Saga’ and ‘Y: The Last Man,’ leading the charge with a fresh script that promises a new take on the original story.

The production will be helmed by Emma Watts, a veteran producer known for her work on major films such as ‘I, Robot’ and ‘Avatar.’ Watts’ experience with visually stunning and complex sci-fi films makes her a perfect fit for reviving this classic.

Compelling Foundation Theory Reveals Another Sci-Fi Apple TV+ Project Is A Prequel To The Isaac Asimov Space Opera
Image
Apple TV+'s Foundation show began life as a series of books by legendary sci-fi author Isaac Asimov, but another project from the streaming platform could be part of the same, larger shared universe as Asimov's space opera. Although the Foundation books have been altered quite drastically to create the show, it's still somehow recognizably the same story. Asimov's worldbuilding and extensive lore have allowed for a great deal of flexibility during Foundation's adaptation process, and Apple TV+ has applied a huge piece of Asimov's canon to another project on its platform.

With Foundation season 3 confirmed and on the way, the show's next run of episodes will continue the centuries-long saga of war between the Empire and Hari Seldon's titular organization. Even among the huge number of sci-fi shows on Apple TV+, Foundation stands out for its glossy aesthetic and cerebral premise. The scope of its fictitious universe is so...

Will Smiths I, Robot Predicted the Future 20 Years Ago
Image
Quick Links Did Elon Musk Rip Off I, Robot? Did I, Robot Signal the Rise of AI? I, Robot Remains Prescient in Fascinating Ways

Sometimes, the future arrives in unexpected ways. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Will Smiths blockbuster sci-fi thriller, I, Robot (now streaming on Tubi for free), inspired by the short-story collections of the great Isaac Asimov (though the film only shares the title and basic setup in common). The movie, set in 2035, follows a detective, Spooner (Smith), who investigates the alleged suicide of the U.S. Robotics founder. Even though the Three Laws of Robotics prevent robots from directly causing harm to humans, Spooner becomes increasingly convinced that a particularly human-like robot, Sonny (Alan Tudyk), was responsible for the murder.

Since I, Robot arrived at arguably the peak of Will Smiths superstardom, it was a massive box-office hit despite mixed reviews, grossing over $350 million worldwide on a $120 million budget.

Alan Tudyk promises that smartass droid K-2So will bring humor to Andor season 2

Rogue One was the unlikeliest of Star Wars success stories: a spinoff movie revolving around an entirely new cast of characters trying to steal plans for the Death Star. And then at the end everybody...well, I guess I shouldn't spoil things explicitly. The movie came out in 2016; you can find out happens if you want.

In any case, Rogue One was a big hit at the box office, but it was still surprising when we heard that Disney was going to make a spinoff TV show about supporting character Cassian Andor, a rebel willing to give anything in the fight against the Empire. Once again, Andor turned into an unlikely success; many fans consider it the best Star Wars TV show Disney has yet made.

The upcoming second season of Andor will bring back more of the Rogue One cast, including K-2So, a reprogrammed Imperial droid given to sarcasm and back talk.

Veteran visual effects producer Nancy St. John, whose credits include the films “Babe” and “Gladiator” (both of which won VFX Oscar kudos), has died at the age of 70, the Visual Effects Society confirmed.

St. John held a career in VFX and computer animation that spanned more than four decades. She was a former Ves executive board committee member who received the distinction of Fellow in 2021.

“Nancy and I served together on the Society’s executive committee, and she passionately represented the worldwide members,” past Ves chair Jeffrey A. Okun said in a statement. “She was a vibrant, creative person and a knowledgeable practitioner who helped so many individuals and VFX companies along the way – always generous with her wit and wisdom, but also always aware of the bottom line. I Am Legend 2 Can Redeem A Different Will Smith Sci-Fi Movie Thanks To New Canon Ending
Image
With I Am Legend 2 discarding the theatrical ending of I Am Legend in favor of an alternate ending, it could help improve some of Will Smith's other sci-fi adaptations at the same time. Smith is a huge action star, but his track record in sci-fi movies has been spotty, as the movies often drastically change the source material they are based on. With I Am Legend, the original novel was based on a book by Richard Matheson that told a very different story to the movie.

Instead of a nuanced story about vampires, and analyzing how sometimes the monster in a story is more about the perspective than the outward appearance, the movie was a straightforward dystopian sci-fi with monsters. But Smith also starred in I, Robot, which was an even bigger departure from the source material by Isaac Asimov. Despite these movies and their clear changes, the...

‘Blade Runner 2049’ Producers Sue Elon Musk Over AI Art in Cybercab Presentation

Alcon Entertainment, the production company behind the dystopian sci-fi opus Blade Runner 2049, is suing Elon Musk, Warner Bros. Discovery and Tesla over part of an Oct. 10 presentation to unveil the car maker’s designs for hypothetical future products, including an self-driving “cybercab.”

The much-hyped event, which also included plans for a larger autonomous “robovan” and remotely operated Optimus robots serving drinks, contained few specifics about when any of these products would become a reality. Tesla staged all this on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, California, in hopes of leveraging some movie magic,...

Bill Burr Says Elon Musk Is the New Steve Jobs in Terms of Burr Hating Him
Image
The new Steve Jobs is “that laminated-faced hair plug cunt on Twitter,” or so says the iconic rant comedian who can’t be bothered to learn his name.

There might not be a genre of celebrity whom Bill Burr hates more than “tech billionaire who pretends to be a genius because he takes credit for other people’s inventions.” Long before the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs saw a post-mortem shift in public opinion as people slowly realized that he “invented” the iPhone about as much as Elon Musk “founded” Tesla, Burr appeared on a 2012 episode of Conan less than a year after Jobs’ death and trashed the late tech mogul for making himself the face of others’ innovations in a legendary rant that still ranks among the irate comic’s all-time best.

Now that Burr’s stance on the deceased Apple don who was once widely considered to be...

The Electric State on Netflix | When is an adaptation not an adaptation?
Image
Netflix’s upcoming sci-fi adventure The Electric State adapts a much-loved art book by Simon Stalenhag. Or does it? We weigh up what counts as an adaptation.

Does Netflix read YouTube comments? If so, it’s a wonder what it makes of the 2,200 (and counting) responses beneath the debut trailer for its upcoming movie, The Electric State. They’re not what you’d call enthusiastic.

“It’s literally an art book,” reads one. “How did they make it look so wrong.”

“The tone looks nothing like the book whatsoever,” reads another. “I loved the hopeless, lonely, and dystopian feel of the source material.”

It’s churlish to judge a film too harshly based on its marketing, of course, but watching the 147-second promo for Netflix’s upcoming, (reported) $320m sci-fi adventure raises a number of questions. Most pressingly: why option Swedish artist and author Simon Stalenhag’s graphic novel of...

‘I, Robot’ Director Says Elon Musk May Have Ripped Off His Movie: ‘Can I Have My Designs Back Please?’
Image
There’s something oddly familiar about Tesla’s new Cybercab and Optimus humanoid robot designs — especially to Alex Proyas.

The director of “The Crow” and “Dark City” pointed out via X the striking similarities to his 2004 film “I, Robot.” The choice of platform had to sting Elon Musk, who owns both the former Twitter and Tesla.

Proyas tweeted, “Hey Elon, Can I have my designs back please?”

The filmmaker shared three pairs of side-by-side images: On the left, pictures from “I, Robot,” and on the right, Tesla’s recent prototypes. Tesla’s Optimus, a prototype of a Tesla Bot, is a sleek, standing, walking robot that shares some of the same features and build as the ones that stood opposite Will Smith in the 20-year-old film.

There’s also have the Robovan, a bulky, Art Deco-looking vehicle envisioned to carry up to 20 people. It looks an awful lot like an “I,...

I, Robot Director Alex Proyas Accuses Elon Musk Of Stealing Designs At Tesla
Image
Science fiction has always been a genre meant to inspire and caution us in equal measure, and 2004's "I, Robot" is no exception. Taking place in the year 2035 in a future where self-driving cars are the norm, legions of robots have taken over menial tasks, and Converse All-Star sneakers are still as fresh as ever, director Alex Proyas' messy action movie was a solid hit upon release and has aged surprisingly well -- particularly as our own reality has taken larger and larger steps toward a similar status quo. One can easily imagine Will Smith's old-school cop Del Spooner looking at our own reality and stubbornly rolling his eyes at our own acceptance of and overreliance on AI. Sure, we're not quite at the level of technological advancement that Proyas and writers Jeff Vintar and Akiva Goldsman envisioned (to say nothing of famed author Isaac Asimov himself, who wrote...

Elon Musk Faces Allegations of Copying Ideas For His Robovan and Optimus From Will Smith’s I, Robot Fans

Elon Musk has long established himself as a pioneer in pushing technological boundaries and coming up with innovations that we could only dream of having.
