Spider-Man: Brand New Day casting news sparks Miles Morales speculation
Image
Spider-Man may be a title used by many in comic book pages, but there's no denying that the two most popular interpretations of the character are Peter Parker and Miles Morales. The former is currently making waves in the Marvel Cinematic Universe thanks to his upcoming live-action movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, while the latter is just a few years away from the release of his animated adventure, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. But as fantastic as the two heroes are on their own, watching them work together is double the fun.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2's incredible success was, in great part, because it featured Peter and Miles as playable characters. Furthermore, the dynamic duo has its own comic book, The Spectacular Spider-Men (2024) — a series that has made it clear that it's easy for them to bounce off each other's jokes. But even if we have yet to see their...

Spider-Man 2's Train Sequence And The Best Batmobile Are Getting Lego Sets
Image
Lego is reaching back into the history of comic book movies to deliver two outstanding new building brick playsets featuring a couple signature superheroes from both Marvel and DC Comics.

In recent years, Lego hasn't been shy about releasing new Lego sets tied to the latest movies of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and thanks to the integration of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man into the MCU, there's been renewed interest in collectibles featuring Tobey Maguire's take on the webhead. Following the recently announced Marvel Legends action figure of the symbiote suit webslinger from "Spider-Man 3," Lego is turning the incredible train sequence from "Spider-Man 2" into a Lego set.

But that's not all, because Lego also continues to build out the legacy Batman on both the silver screen and the flickering box. Along with massive sets like the Lego "Batman Returns" Batcave and the "Batman: The Animated Series" Lego Gotham City skyline,...

Takashi Shimizu
This Terrifying J-Horror Remake Is Now Streaming For Free!
Takashi Shimizu
The early aughts launched a wave of horror remakes, but they’re especially known as an era full of American remakes of Japanese horror classics. One such adaptation is Takashi Shimizu‘s 2004 film, The Grudge, based on the Japanese film Ju-On: The Grudge, which Shimizu directed in 2002. It’s not often the original director is brought on for the American adaptation, so this is a fascinating film even for just that reason.

In the film, “An American nurse living and working in Tokyo is exposed to a mysterious supernatural curse, one that locks a person in a powerful rage before claiming their life and spreading to another victim.“

The Grudge stars horror icon Sarah Michelle Gellar, as well as Jason Behr (Roswell) and Clea DuVall (The Faculty). It was a massive hit upon release, raking in a reported $187.3 million on a $10 million budget. It was released when I was a kid,...

GTA 6 2025 Release Will Be a Massive L for Split Fiction
Image
GTA 6 release has everyone on their toes as it is the most anticipated game of 2025. Rockstar plans to release the game sometime in Fall 2025, which would allow the title to be qualified for The Game Awards. The game has been in the making since 2018, after the release of Red Dead Redemption 2.

Additionally, players will get their hands on another Grand Theft Auto game after almost 13 years. Moreover, Rockstar got a lot of time to create the open-world game and add more features than before. Though there are talks about it being delayed to February 2026.

Now, the main issue is, 2025 has already seen strong contenders like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Split Fiction. While Split Fiction holds a stronger place for having a very unique story, soundscape, and most importantly, gameplay, it would be sad if it doesn’t get any recognition when GTA 6 comes out.

GTA 6 has to be extremely...

Today, Starz released the official Bmf season four trailer and key art. The new season of the hit crime and family drama series will premiere on Friday, June 6, with all-new episodes available to stream weekly on Fridays on the Starz app.

The explosive Bmf season four trailer teases the feud brewing between the drug organization’s leaders and brothers, Meech and Terry Flenory, as they launch their own music label in the Atlanta hip-hop scene and expand the business into new national territories during the 1990s.

Emmy Award-winning actor Michael Chiklis becomes the latest notable cast addition, portraying DEA Agent Taylor, a no-nonsense cop who assists in the pursuit of Bmf, while adding to Meech and Terry’s growing list of enemies.

“There’s No Absolutes for Me”: Tobey Maguire Was Always Ready for Spider-Man 4 but It Never Happened
Image
It was a different time. It was a different era. Tobey Maguire donning the mask of Spider-Man and climbing walls was something that the world hadn’t seen before. Naturally, sequels were made for this iconic franchise.

Veteran director Sam Raimi crushed it, and Spider-Man 2 received even more love and fame than the first part. The third part was a disastrous failure, but Tobey Maguire wouldn’t have minded making a fourth movie as the masked wall crawler.

After Maguire stepped down, Andrew Garfield followed up, becoming the next Spider-Man, and then the MCU got Tom Holland to take up the baton. But Maguire’s portrayal remains a fond memory in the minds of millennials, and they almost got a fourth movie with him.

Spider-Man icon 'officially' confirmed for MCU return
Image
It sounds like we might be seeing a lot of Spider-Man next year. Depending on how the Marvel Cinematic Universe's releases play out in 2026, that could be true in more ways than one. Either way, Spidey will be back on the silver screen, and that is somehow still the second-biggest story for the McU's next chapter, as Avengers: Doomsday is the one getting the majority of the attention right now.

We know that Tom Holland will return as the webslinger in Spider-Man: Brand New Day but his Avengers: Doomsday involvement is unclear. The wall-crawler is rumored to feature in some capacity but reports claim that Holland's filming schedule might prevent him from filming any scenes directly. But the character might also be absent from the film as Spider-Man 4 will reportedly take place alongside the events of Doomsday.

The good news is that Brand New Day promises to be...

The title itself hints at a fresh start for Spidey, pulling from some pretty iconic comic book storylines that shook up Peter’s life big time. And while everyone’s hyped about the new chapter, the real fireworks started when casting rumors popped up. Word on the street is that new villains are about to crash the MCU, including a few faces fans have been dying to see. Now, fan theories are exploding everywhere,...

“These movies created the simp mindset”: 20 Years Later, One Spider-Man 2 Scene Proves Kirsten Dunst’s Mind-Boggling Superpower in the Film
Image
The Raimi trilogy’s influence on the then-blooming superhero landscape can’t be overstated, as not only did it set the benchmark for Spider-Man movies, it gave us one of the best CBMs of all time, Spider-Man 2. But despite all of its feats, Spider-Man 2, and the whole trilogy in general, couldn’t get one character right, Kirsten Dunst’s Mj.

Kirsten Dunst as Mj | Credits: Sony Pictures Releasing

From being the literal embodiment of the girl next door in the starting to a damsel in distress in the follow-ups, the screenwriters never got her character right. And one scene from Spider-Man 2 perfectly highlights the character’s narcissistic tendencies in the franchise.

While Spider-Man 2 perfectly demonstrates a superhero’s grapple between responsibility and personal struggles, the same can’t be said for Mj’s character progression.

Netflix is dropping 55 movies and series this week
Image
Oof. Beginnings of months are difficult in terms of how many titles on any streaming service we are forced to say goodbye to. Each month, Netflix brings in many new items, meaning some older ones have to leave. Some months are worse than others.

May isn't worse than other months unless you are a fan of a couple of franchises. If you love Spider-Man, we have bad news for you. If you are addicted to watching Thomas & Friends, we have more bad news.

Perhaps the worst part is that a lot of comedies are saying goodbye. Wedding Crashers, the Fockers films, and a couple of the Friday flicks are going away. So are some Oscar-worthy films, such as Schindler's List and Whiplash.

A large number of titles are leaving Netflix this week (April 26 through May 2)

The weird 1978 version of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is also leaving.

“Being able to… play portably” Is the Biggest Advantage of The Last of Us Part 2: Remastered PC Port, Devs Claim
Image
2025 has been a stacked year so far in the video gaming industry, and Sony’s Remake/Remaster mill just added another title to the mix with The Last of Us Part 2: Remastered. But you know one thing about this new port that stands out to us? It’s not just the storytelling and visuals, but how surprisingly well it performs on the Steam Deck.

Naughty Dog and porting specialists Nixxes have gone above and beyond. Recently, a Steam Deck Verified has often meant little because games still release unoptimized for the handheld. And while we want Valve to do something about it, Tlou Part 2: Remastered is in great condition, and that’s exactly what the developers planned.

The Last of Us Part 2: Remastered runs great on the Steam Deck

Speaking to GameRant, game director Matthew Gallant highlighted the Steam Deck support as a major milestone. The team...

Red Dead Redemption Was a Glowing Success Because Its Target Audience Was ‘Aging Gamers’, Not Youngsters
Image
Back in 2010, Red Dead Redemption was launched soon after the likes of other Rockstar releases such as Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars. Rockstar was on its mission to revolutionise gaming with the open world mechanics, and boy, with RDR1, they definitely hit the mark. Contrary to the modern urban surroundings of the GTA series, the game was set in the open-world Wild Western landscapes of America and Mexico. While many youngsters preferred fast-paced games such as Call of Duty Black Ops, this cowboy action-adventure title was never made to compete with them.

Instead, the Red Dead Redemption (the first in the series) was a cinematic, story-first game that felt nothing less than a surreal visual experience, especially for a 2010 game. Far from kill streaks or skins, the game did not rely on the dopamine rush as one finds these days. Instead, the game threw in...

Mel Gibson's Controversial Jesus Movie Unsurprisingly Finds New Success 21 Years Later on Streaming
Image
Mel Gibson's Jesus movie, The Passion of the Christ, has been drowning in controversy since the project was announced. Aside from a stunning box office run and multiple award nods, the movie has just become a hit on Netflix 21 years later.

With a sequel on the way over two decades later, The Passion of the Christ's success on streaming was not coincidental. Movies following the life of Jesus Christ were a big hit over the Easter weekend, as expected. Per Tudum, The Passion of the Christ was one of the big hits of the week.

The Mel Gibson-directed film just debuted on Netflix and, for the week between Apr. 16 and 22, it reached the second place spot in the global non-English charts. The movie received 8.5 million views and 17.1 million hours viewed. Although it didn't manage to top the charts, its run 21 years later is still highly impressive.

Andrew Garfield Still Wants to Play Spider-Man Again, but With 1 'Very Weird' Condition
Image
Andrew Garfield may only have three movies as Spider-Man under his belt, far fewer than his replacement Tom Holland, but he's still a lot of people's favorite Spidey. When he triumphantly reappeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home, he got a colossal cheer from audiences all over the world.

Now a question has hung over Garfield's career for a long time - will he ever return to the MCU as the Amazing Spider-Man? While Holland is still in the role, there's nothing that says he can't meet his variant again. And at the moment, the MCU is built on multiverses. Garfield was asked about the prospect of returning while at the Middle East Film and Comic Con in Abu Dhabi recently.

Garfield said (via Deadline) that he "really loved playing Spider-Man" but he wanted his next go at the role, if it ever came, to be something a bit different.

Spider-Man is, without a doubt, one of the most popular characters ever created across any medium. Most people have related to him at one point or another ever since his comic book debut back in 1962. His sense of responsibility and willingness to do the right thing without caring about the cost have set an example for many generations. A lot of us aspire to be like him, and it is thanks to this level of popularity that he has been able to make his way into multiple adventures on the big screen.

Since Sam Raimi created one of the best superhero movies ever made in the form of Spider-Man (2002), there has been no shortage of big-screen adaptations of the character. Some of them have been so good that they paved the way for the entirety of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to be created. However, others have failed to live up...

Spider-Man Brand New Day: How Tom Holland’s Next Adventure Could Benefit Both the MCU and PlayStation’s Insomniac Universe
Image
Marvel Studios has officially revealed that Spider-Man 2026 will be titled: Spider-Man Brand New Day. The last time we saw Tom Holland’s Peter Parker at the end of 2021’s No Way Home, he was in a trepidatious position, so fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are eager to see what’s in store for him next. The title of this new movie gives hints towards what that could look like.

Spider-Man Brand New Day Echoes a Pivotal Comic Book Arc

In the comics, the Brand New Day run follows the infamous One More Day arc, where Peter controversially struck a game-changing deal with Mephisto to save Aunt May’s life by erasing his relationship with Mj through a magic spell, and Doctor Strange also played a notable role in the story. If that sounds familiar any of you who haven’t read the comic, that’s because the events of...

'Blood of Zeus' Season 3 Sets a Thunderous Release Date for Heron's Final Journey [Exclusive]

There is officially only one month left until Blood of Zeus returns for its final chapter. Collider can exclusively reveal that Season 3 of the animated Greek mythology series created by brothers Charley and Vlas Parlapanides has been set for a May 8 release, landing it almost exactly one year apart from the debut of Season 2. The return of the smash hit will bring about the end of Heron and Seraphim's story, as the half-brothers look to fulfill their roles as prophesied saviors of the world. A greater threat than ever looms, however, with the return of the Titans and of Typhon, the monstrous creature Olympus nearly fell too in the distant past.

‘John Wick’ Director Chad Stahelski Credits Academy With “Really Doing Their Homework” In Order To Honor Stunt Community At Oscars

More than 30 years after embarking on his Hollywood stunt career, Chad Stahelski is praising the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for finally recognizing the field.

“None of us [in the industry] would be here if it wasn’t for the last 100 years of stunt people,” noted Stahelski over the phone while overseeing a color-correcting session on Ballerina, which he is producing. “We’ve come a long way because a lot of other people have sacrificed a lot. Miles Morales actor reveals who he'd like to fight in Marvel's Spider-Man 3
Image
Back in 2023, video game players worldwide hopped back in Insomniac's rendition of New York to save the day as two different wall-crawlers. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 elevated the saga to a whole new level by introducing web-wings, new improved combat mechanics, almost no load-times, multiple playable characters, and two new terrifying antagonists. It was a fantastic superhero epic that left us wanting more. Fortunately, the post-credits scene teased that the story is far from over, as more heroes and villains are soon to enter the picture.

While Marvel's Spider-Man 3 hasn't been officially announced, it's a well-known fact that it is coming. Peter Parker's voice actor, Yuri Lowenthal, recently confirmed that he'll be back for the next chapter in Insomniac's franchise even when his character hung up the suit in favor of a simpler life with M.J. the last time we saw him. Neil Patrick Harris Voiced Spider-Man In A Forgotten Animated MTV Series
Image
"Spider-Man" is one of the most popular superheroes of all time, and one that is quite versatile when it comes to adaptations. We've had several "Spider-Man" shows and movies, from live-action to animation and video games, each with a unique take, visual style, and tone. Tom Holland's boyish Peter Parker is vastly different from Jake Johnson's jaded Peter B. Parker and Tobey Maguire's tragic, mopey version of the character (which audiences voted as the single best live-action Peter Parker).

Even in animation, we've seen many different interpretations from voice actors across games, TV, and film, portraying Peter as an older man, a newcomer just getting started with his powers, or an established hero. Though there have been many animated "Spider-Man" TV shows, each with their own fans and defenders, one show is usually left out of the conversation — MTV's "Spider-Man: The New Animated Series."

This was a wild experiment.

Spider-Man 3 PS5 Star Teases Silk & Miles Morales' Roles In New Game (Exclusive)

Marvel's Spider-Man star Nadji Jeter teased Miles Morales' role in the Spider-Man 3 game and how the newly introduced Silk character could fit into Insomniac Games' web-slinging video game universe.

While not yet formally announced, several reports indicated that Insomniac (also working on the Wolverine PlayStation 5 (PS5) game) is already developing a proper third entry into the Marvel's Spider-Man video game franchise.

The last time fans heard from the series was in 2023's Spider-Man 2. In that wall-crawling adventure, Jeter's Miles Morales teamed up with Yuri Lowenthal's Peter Parker, defeating the dastardly Venom while setting up a new era for both versions of the web-headed heroes.

“We’re actively working on Marvel’s Wolverine for PS5”: The Wolverine Update We All Have Been Waiting For
Image
It’s been nearly four years since Marvel’s Wolverine was first announced by Insomniac Games during the PlayStation Showcase in September 2021. Aside from the short teaser that came with the announcement, official information about the game has been few and far in between, until now.

Well Done, Kevin Feige: Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s Rumored Villain Will Be an Industry-First for Marvel, A Major Win for Representation

There have been several iterations of Spider-Man, and Tom Holland was the latest one under Sony and Kevin Feige’s MCU (a first for the two companies). It was indeed a big win for the world since they got to see their favorite superhero fighting alongside the greats.

A new rumor is on the internet now about the lead antagonist of the upcoming Tom Holland film, Spider-Man 4. If the rumors are true, the world might just see a lead antagonist who is of Asian origin and a Person of Color for the first time in a Spider-Man film!

It was recently reported that Holland was very excited about the premise of the upcoming film Spider-Man 4 (currently titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day). The premise was set,...

‘Hell of a Summer’ Review: Finn Wolfhard and Billy Bryk’s Sleepaway Camp Slasher Is a Coming-of-Age Story with a Sharp Edge
Image
Finn Wolfhard and Billy Bryk’s “Hell of a Summer” is a sharp and funny enough sleepaway camp slasher from two people with an obvious love for the genre. Still, it’s hard to watch the movie without being constantly reminded of the fact that its writer/director team — a Netflix star and a low-key Canadian nepo princeling who struck up a friendship when they were both cast in “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” — were basically still children when they shot it. Actually, not “but” so much as “because.”

Nothing about the actors’ modest yet assured directorial co-debut suggests that they were undeserving of the opportunity to make it, or that Wolfhard was overeager to cash in on the cachet he’s earned as the lead of “Stranger Things.” On the contrary, “Hell of a Summer” only stands out from the endless sea (or crystal lake) of “Friday the 13th” knockoffs precisely because...

‘Devil May Cry’ Netflix Review: Adi Shankar Continues His Golden Streak Of Amazing Animated Shows
Image
A few weeks ago, I was watching a video essay from a YouTube channel called DanBoyWonder titled “The Lost Art of Action Cartoons!,” which basically stated that we aren’t getting action-oriented shows like Batman: The Animated Series, Ben 10, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Teen Titans, Swat Kats, Gargoyles, Samurai Jack, Justice League, etc., any more. He argued that recent reboots of older animated shows or the overall landscape of animated shows made in America is really bland. He did say that stuff like Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and Invincible are decent but not as amazing as the stuff from the good old days. And you know what? I almost agreed with him. But then I realized that any discourse on the current state of American animation is incomplete without bringing up the work that Adi Shankar and his collaborators have done in this space. Castlevania’s four-season run is spectacular.

Avengers: Secret Wars Could Allow One Marvel Legacy Character Finish Their Saga After Spider-Man: Brand New World
Image
Spider-Man: No Way Home delivered a cliffhanger by causing Eddie Brock to leave behind a piece of the Venom symbiote in the mainline MCU universe. With Secret Wars fast approaching, it is expected that Spider-Man is going to debut his black suit, as he did in the comics.

While fans are expecting that Tom Holland is going to get his Venom arc in Secret Wars, Marvel Studios actually has the opportunity to let another hero take the spotlight. Given that Marvel Legacy’s existence is largely driven by nostalgia and fans being emotionally attached to these characters, it would make sense for one of them to take center stage in Secret Wars.

It was clear that Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man was still dealing with some things after Gwen Stacy’s death, even during the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse Trailer Review: It Still Remains Sony’s Only Spider-Man Franchise That Never Disappoints
Image
If there’s one thing Sony knows how to do right with Spider-Man, it’s the Spider-Verse films. Live-action Peter Parker has been through a lot, dancing emo phases, questionable villains, and even a movie about a guy who talks to bats, but the animated Spider-Verse movies? Flawless.

With the latest trailer for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse dropping at CinemaCon, we’re once again reminded why this is the franchise that never lets us down. Packed with jaw-dropping animation, an insane level of detail, and enough multiversal madness to make Doctor Strange sweat, the upcoming film promises to deliver yet another cinematic masterpiece.

This trailer isn’t just a sneak peek, it’s an experience. The moment it dropped, the internet exploded with theories, frame-by-frame breakdowns, and enough excitement to power an entire city. If Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse...

Why Jake Gyllenhaal Nearly Replaced Tobey Maguire As Marvel's Spider-Man
Image
Sam Raimi's superhero flick "Spider-Man" was a huge hit when it was released in 2002. It was made for a whopping $132 million (big money at the time), but it ended up grossing over $825 million worldwide, more or less ushering a new age of superhero movies that remained strong all the way through the 2020s. It's easy to see why a story about superheroism in New York would have caught on in the early 2000s; superheroes live in morally simple universes where good and evil are clearly delineated, a stark contrast to the wickedness and chaos of a post-9/11 world. Noble beings with extraordinary powers can now prevent massive acts of terrorism.

Despite the success of "Spider-Man," however, franchise star Tobey Maguire almost stepped away from the role for the 2004 sequel. Maguire had just become a notable Hollywood player with "Spider-Man," as well as with his acclaimed performance in the Oscar-bait horse picture "Seabiscuit,...

Venom's new host reportedly revealed, and Spider-Man fans aren't happy
Image
Venom is known for being a combination of two beings: an alien symbiote and an unsuspecting host. So when you think about the Lethal Protector, you usually picture Eddie Brock behind the pointy teeth and big white eyes. However, that hasn't always been the case. Many people have bonded with the Venom symbiote, including Spider-Man, Mac Gargan, Flash Thompson, and even Eddie's son, Dylan Brock. That's why learning somebody new recently took on the mantle wasn't shocking in the slightest.

Fresh out of the events of Venom War (2024), the Venom symbiote and Eddie Brock parted ways for good. While the latter eventually bonded with the Carnage symbiote to create a new version of Marvel's most lethal character, the former teamed up with a mysterious host whose identity hasn't been revealed yet. However, the All-New Venom (2024) comic book run gave us four likely candidates to keep an eye on: Luke Cage,...

That’s Why Tobey Maguire is the Goat: Sam Raimi Trilogy Immortalized One Iconic Stunt That’s Missing from All Tom Holland Spider-Man Movies
Image
When it comes to Spider-Man, every generation has its favorite. But for many fans, Tobey Maguire’s portrayal in Sam Raimi’s trilogy remains unmatched. His web-slinging adventures not only redefined superhero cinema but also delivered some of the most unforgettable moments in comic book movie history. Among them, one particular stunt stands out the most, which in itself is a defining image of Spider-Man himself.

Strangely enough, this signature move is completely absent from Tom Holland’s Marvel Cinematic Universe films. So, what is this missing stunt, and why does it cement Maguire’s status as the Goat?

The MCU cannot really match Toby Maguire’s iconic Spider-Man stunts

For many fans, Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man remains the most pivotal live-action version of the web-slinger. And the key reason for this being his extraordinary web-swinging. While the MCU has tried their...

Rumor: Has O'Dessa Star Sadie Sink Been Cast As The McU's Black Cat In Spider-man 4?
Image
Aside from Tom Holland and Zendaya, Stranger Things star Sadie Sink is the only actor to have officially joined the cast of Spider-Man 4. As a result, speculation about her role in the movie continues to run rampant, especially as she was initially rumoured to be in line for Marvel Studios' X-Men reboot as Jean Grey.

Multiple scoopers have since dismissed the idea of Sink playing Marvel Girl in Spider-Man 4, though Mary Jane Watson's name has been thrown around alongside characters like Mayday Parker and Firestar.

Now, it seems Felicia Hardy, a.k.a. Black Cat, is another likely contender. Many fans have suggested Sink play the character as it makes sense on a few different levels. Not only is Black Cat's live-action debut long overdue, but she's an ideal love interest for a Spider-Man who has pretty much given up being Peter Parker.

There's also the small...

Marvel Games Writer Reveals Idea For Connected Marvel Gaming Universe, Even Before The MCU
Image
A writer for Marvel Rivals opened up about a shared universe of Marvel video games that never took off. While the Marvel Cinematic Universe has revolutionized film and television with its interconnected storytelling, most Marvel games have lacked this narrative cohesion. Usually, each title tells its own standalone story, unrelated to the others. Players are left with games that, while inspired by the same Marvel characters and stories, remain largely disconnected from one another — but Marvel could have had its own MCU for games, once upon a time.

In a March 13 episode of The Fourth Curtain podcast (via IGN), co-host Alexander Seropian and the episode's guest, longtime Marvel games writer Alex Irvine, revealed there was once a pitch for a Marvel Gaming Universe. Seropian, best known as a co-founder of Bungie, ran Disney's video game publishing arm until 2012. Irvine most recently contributed story and dialogue writing to Marvel Rivals. During...

Shocking Reason Why You Might Never See Jenna Ortega in Marvel Movies
Image
Jenna Ortega has gained widespread attention after her breakout role in the Netflix series Wednesday. She has been in the industry for quite some time and has been taking on roles since she was a kid. She was one of the main characters in the Disney Channel series Stuck in the Middle, playing Harley Diaz.

I won’t blame you if you didn’t recognize her from any of this and instead were introduced to the American actress via the popular TikTok video that made rounds on the internet—the iconic scene from Wednesday where she dances to Lady Gaga’s Bloody Mary. However, with her rising popularity, there was speculation that she might star in a Marvel movie, mainly due to Marvel’s reputation for casting up-and-coming actors.

This is what a Daredevil video game looks like (and it's awesome)
Image
When it comes to video game adaptations, any superhero who isn't Spider-Man or Batman usually gets the short end of the stick. Granted, there have been a few rare occasions when a hidden gem starring a different character gets released and takes the world by storm. However, it's perplexing how some of the world's most recognizable heroes have had next to no chances of stealing the spotlight in this beloved medium. Daredevil is, unfortunately, a member of that group.

The Man Without Fear is currently making headlines thanks to his long-awaited Marvel Cinematic Universe comeback in Daredevil: Born Again. But why should his tale stop there? For a long time, fans speculated that a hidden easter egg in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 indicated that Matt Murdock would appear in a Dlc or even his own title. In time, it was revealed that this mysterious secret was just a reference to Insomniac's next game: Marvel's Wolverine.

'Spider-Man 4' Sadie Sink Casting Could Hint at X-Men MCU Debut
Image
On Mar. 12, 2025, it was announced that Stranger Things star Sadie Sink had joined the cast of the highly anticipated Spider-Man 4. This news was shocking because Sink was previously rumored to be Marvel Studios' top choice to play Jean Grey in the McU's upcoming X-Men reboot. It isn't unheard of for an actor to be considered for one role only to end up with another, and there certainly is precedent for it between X-Men and Spider-Man properties, like in 2010 when Michael Fassbender was being eyed to play both Magneto in X-Men: First Class and Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard in The Amazing Spider-Man, with him accepting the former.

Yet the fact that the news of Sink's casting for Spider-Man 4 did not mention a character and Sink's previous status as the top contender to play Jean Grey might suggest big plans for the upcoming Spider-Man movie. While there are...

Throughout the season, Maddie is still stuck in the afterlife with the knowledge of what happened to her and must unite her friends in the spectral and living worlds in order to reclaim her stolen life.

“Those are the ground rules going in”: After Rex Splode, It’s Our Glorious King Spider-Man Who’s Been Damned as Marvel Confirms It’s a Rule to Never Let Him Be Happy
Image
It has not been a great time for young, funny superheroes like Invincible’s Rex Splode and Marvel’s Spider-Man. While the former faced a terrible fate in the latest season, the Spider-Man comics seem to be out to get Peter Parker and stop him from being genuinely happy in his life. This was confirmed by comic book writer and editor Tom Brevoort.

Brevoort, who is currently the editor for the X-Men comics, was reportedly asked about Marvel’s editorial guidelines and how much freedom writers have when writing legacy characters. When asked if Spider-Man and Mary Jane not getting married was part of Marvel’s guidelines, Brevoort confirmed it was.

Deadline recently reported that American actress Sadie Sink has joined the cast of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's upcoming fourth Spider-Man film. Sink began her career as a stage actor, but she is now best known for playing Max Mayfield in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things. No plot details are currently known about the sequel to Spider-Man: No Way Home, so the possibilities for Sink's role in the film are endless. Since the actress has naturally red hair, many fans have speculated that she will portray a redhead from the comics. It was previously rumored that she would play the McU's version of Jean Grey, one of the founding members of the X-Men,...

Kirsten Dunst, Alfred Molina, and Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man 2 (2004)
Two Marvel veterans confirm they won't be in Spider-Man 4 amidst speculation
Kirsten Dunst, Alfred Molina, and Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man 2 (2004)
For more than three years now, we've been living a real-life adaptation of Spider-Man: No More! Tom Holland's iteration of the wall-crawler was last seen back in 2021 during the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, and then completely disappeared from the public eye. On the bright side, the wait for his return is getting shorter and shorter. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is staging a big comeback for one of its most popular heroes, and all eyes are set on Spider-Man 4 to create an engaging story capable of surpassing all expectations. The only problem? We know very little (if anything) about what the movie will be about.

Sony Japan issued a now-deleted press release that teased Tom Hardy's Venom will make an appearance. Furthermore, Tom Holland said that the film's script is excellent even if it needs a bit more work. But aside from those "official" statements we...

Novocaine Is More Proof That Horror Filmmakers Make Great, Brutal Action Movies
Image
Ask any stunt person, and they'll tell you: the ability to sell taking a punch is just as important, and perhaps more so, than credibly throwing one. Ask any editor or sound designer, and they'll corroborate this and then some. If you've ever watched raw dailies from an action movie, you'll note how oddly weightless a lot of fight sequences become when they're robbed of their rhythm and the satisfying Thwam sound of their body blows. All this is to say that action in cinema is so incredibly dependent on selling the total effect of the violence, even more than show-stopping stunts and feats of strength and dexterity. Since it's all in the timing, it's no wonder that so many great action directors either come from or are adept at comedy -- from Buster Keaton to Jackie Chan.

However, there are just as many great action filmmakers who come from the world of horror,...

Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, and Riz Ahmed in Venom (2018)
The MCU storyline we’ve waited for is finally happening
Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, and Riz Ahmed in Venom (2018)
Ever since the first Venom movie premiered back in 2018, audiences have been eager to see a crossover between Tom Hardy's iteration of the Lethal Protector and Tom Holland's friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. However, for the past six years, we've lived in a world where these two characters have yet to come face-to-face on the big screen, even if they are both well-established enemies in comic book pages. While the Marvel Cinematic Universe is home to Peter Parker and his alter-ego, Venom was concealed to wreak havoc in Sony's Universe — which unfortunately means multiversal barriers (and licensing rights) prevented them from ever clashing.

Fortunately, there is one saving grace.

During the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home audiences were treated to the rather shocking revelation that Eddie and the Venom symbiote traveled to the MCU as if by magic (quite literally). But before they headed home, a piece...

Touted as Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ Killer, Rise of the Ronin Continues the Trend of Poor PC Releases for PlayStation Exclusives
Image
Rise of the Ronin seemed like it could’ve been a refresh of sorts of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Even more so considering that it could compete with Ubisoft’s upcoming Assassin’s Creed Shadows. But like a lot of previous PlayStation exclusives that have made their way to PC, its launch has been far from smooth.

It could’ve been the competitor to Assassin’s Creed Shadows. | Image Credit: Team Ninja

Released a year after its PS5 debut, the PC version came out on Steam on March 10, 2025. And for everyone who waited to play the game, all we’ve gotten is a flood of complaints about poor optimization, stuttering issues, and outdated visuals. With only 44% positive reviews, Rise of the Ronin has joined the growing list of Sony-published titles with bad PC ports.

Rise of the Ronin‘s PC port is just another Sony fumble Why does this keep happening?...

Daredevil: Born Again Mirrors Sam Raimi's Spider-Man In One Major Way
Image
Spider-Man will not be showing up in "Daredevil: Born Again," but watching the series, I can feel some influence from Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man" films. How so? "Spider-Man" and its sequels are as heightened as the original comics, whereas "Daredevil" prides itself on being a gritty crime drama. It comes down to the moments spent with ordinary New Yorkers.

The original "Daredevil" killed off journalist Ben Urich (Vondie Curtis-Hall), a longtime supporting character in the "Daredevil" comics. That forced the show to plug Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) into Urich's role whenever the show needed a Pov in New York media. "Daredevil: Born Again" is more directly continuing Urich's legacy: his niece, Bb Urich (Genneya Walton), is an independent reporter running a web show called the Bb Report.

Each "Born Again" episode so far includes interludes from the Bb Report, featuring Bb interviewing New Yorkers about the issues of the...
