When the three lads get to the Lake District and enter the caravan, they turn the light on, which comes on immediately. It then goes out. Young Dave then turns them on again - by lighting them with a match.
The three lads browse through a copy of "Health and Efficiency", made out to be the April 1959 issue, complete with shots of nudity on the front cover. In keeping with the times, the real issue of the magazine does not show nudity on its front cover and is also priced differently.
When the three lads go back to the girl's boarding house in Blackpool they are seen walking down Blundell Street. An illuminated tram can be seen driving by (something, incidentally, it would never have done in this part of Blackpool), but the tram is a 1965 model and the action is set in 1959.
