Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners” is both a crowd and critical darling — and a box office smash, so you may be wondering where you’ve seen the cast of his vampire horror hit before.

“Sinners” reunites Michael B. Jordan with director, Coogler. They first teamed up for his directorial debut “Fruitvale Station” and have since worked together on “Black Panther,” “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” and “Creed.”

The film broke box office records with the best opening weekend for an original film this decade, earning over $60 million in its first week domestically. The film, set in the 1930s Deep South, follows twin gangster brothers Smoke and Stack, played by Jordan, as they return to their Mississippi hometown to start a juke joint, but they are confronted by a bloodthirsty vampire gang led by Remmick (Jack O’Connell).

Yukiko, a 29-year-old elementary school teacher in Tokyo, lives a rather normal life, dealing with her students and retaining a relationship with a fellow teacher. However, she is also disgruntled with her life, particularly when she realizes that she is not one among the favorite teachers in the school, while her relationship is not as fulfilling as she expects. As such, she channels her frustration in hip-hop, rapping at nights in a park along with some similar-minded friends. When she loses miserably in a rap fight, however, she realizes that she needs to make a change.

Starz has announced the movie and TV titles that will be available on the service in April. The Starz April 2025 schedule includes new episodes of Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 4.

Warner Bros. has shared thirteen new character posters from Ryan Coogler's Sinners, offering a fresh new look at the devlish heroes and villains set to feature in the upcoming horror thriller.

While not much is yet known about the plot, save for the fact that Michael B. Jordan will be forced to square off with vampires, including his recently turned twin brother, which should only up the ante as he and a small group of survivors attempt to make it to daybreak.

When asked about his latest film, Coogler teased, “Sinners is a unique one. It’s genre fluid. There are vampires in the film, but it’s really about a lot more than just that. It’s one of many elements, I’ll say. I think we’re going to surprise people with it.”

Director Ryan Coogler and star Michael B. Jordan are ready to enter the supernatural realm with their latest feature-length collaboration, Sinners. The upcoming Warner Bros. blockbuster gets its official rating, one not associated with a Coogler movie since his first joint venture with his Black Panther franchise teammate.

According to FilmRatings.com,Sinners landed an R-rating heading into its spring release for strong bloody violence and sexual content. This marks new ground for Coogler as Sinners is his first R-rated film since 2013's Fruitvale Station, his critically acclaimed first project alongside Jordan.

During a recent appearance on The Pivot, Mackie opened up about raising his kids. “I keep my boys humble. Like my boys have never had a pair of Jordans. My boys don’t do all that internet fly shit,” he said. “I could be the biggest star in the world. Do not let me catch you being stupid.”

One would assume, considering its success, that everyone on the project had the time of their lives when they were making the film. However, it would seem that one part of the production was tirelessly unrewarding.

Even though the movie’s soundtrack was made by two members of the legendary band Nine Inch Nails, the experience was very frustrating for the two musicians.

Campaigning for an Academy Award can often be a laborious process, as studio politics and preordained narratives often play a greater role in securing a nomination than the actual quality of a film or performance. Even though most film fans recognize that the Oscars are entirely subjective and often overlook some of the best work done in a given year, it can be disappointing for actors who would like to be awarded by a community of their peers. Anthony Mackiehas expressed his frustration with this and mentioned that he has had several performances that were unfairly snubbed. Murphy died on December 20, 2009, and Katie O’Grady, who worked alongside her on her final film Something Wicked, described Murphy as being like “a little bird you wanted to be around and you wanted to help.”

O’Grady told People magazine that Murphy’s cast and crew were all concerned and mindful of Murphy’s physical and mental condition, and tried to be “soft” with her while on set. O’Grady recalled the late actress looking “frail” and noticeably “going through a hard time” while filming the movie.
