8 Mile

FAQ

In the movie, B-Rabbit (Eminem) sees Wink (Eugene Byrd) hanging out with the Free World and starts a fight with them. (It's the fight where Cheddar Bob (Evan Jones) shoots himself.) There isn't a clear reason for the motives behind the fight but we know this: (1) Wink said during the Chin Tiki club scene that he won't hang out with the Free World guys anymore; (2) Wink wants a piece of the profit, in that he knows that Papa Doc (Anthony Mackie) and B-Rabbit have potential, so he hangs around both of them hoping that he'll can get a piece of the profit; and (3) Janeane (Taryn Manning) had told B-Rabbit earlier on that everyone was dissing him behind his back because he choked at The Shelter a few nights before and because of Lyckety-Splyt (G L Strike Sanders) mocking him the next night, and he could have assumed that it was him and the rest of the Free World guys spreading stuff about him. This probably gave B-Rabbit the reason to start the fight.

"Uncle Tom" is a derogatory term for a black person who behaves in a subservient manner to white people.

Rabbit was insulting his opponents' tough gangster facades, by showing them how they were all trying to act like 2Pac (Tupac Shakur). He continues to do so by calling Papa Doc "No Pac" as if he were the only one in the crew not able to act gangster. The line says, "You're Pac, he's Pac, no Pac, none", and with "none", he's referring that even if they have that attitude none of them is 2Pac and finally, Rabbit makes a cut-throat sign. After that, he begins to discredit credibility and raps about Pap Doc's real background (like how he attended Cranbrook, a private school); Papa Doc's background showed that his "gangster" attitude was all just for show.
