Alan Cumming is ready to revisit his greatest hits following Avengers: Doomsday's massive casting news.

In the wake of Marvel confirming his return as Nightcrawler, Cumming shared a video to Instagram of him running and jumping in poses similar to his X2: X-Men United character's iconic intro scene, even dressing in a blue scarf matching Nightcrawler's skin color. Amongst those who responded positively to the post included X2 co-star Rebecca Romijn -- who played fellow blue-skinned Mutant and, in the comics, Nightcrawler's biological mother, Mystique -- who wrote, "Can't wait to see blue!"

Alan Cumming is reprising his X-Men role of Nightcrawler for Marvel’s upcoming Avengers: Doomsday.

After the cast reveal was made on a live stream, the Traitors US host took to social media to express his excitement about returning and share a video of himself practicing his Nightcrawler moves.

“Never say never,” Cumming captioned the Instagram post.

Cumming played the comic book role in 2003’s X2: X-Men United. The actor will also reunite in the new Avengers movie with his co-stars including Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier / Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), and James Marsden (Cyclops).

A transformation is coming to Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox). In a new slate of set photos from Daredevil: Born Again, a little spoiler from the series' upcoming Season 2 episodes was revealed, but fans are happy to know it. The photos reveal that the superhero will don his famous black outfit for the first time in the series. At this point, we don't know in which episode this will happen, but Cox's face with the mask off confirms that it's indeed part of his storyline. Season 1 of the series is still rolling out new episodes on Disney+.

The Dd on Matt's chest is a big development because Marvel fans have noticed its absence in the red suit that the protagonist wore ever since the series first debuted on Netflix. The red suit from the show is considered fairly accurate, but the D's are a defining element from the comic books that fans missed.

In a five-and-a-half-hour live stream on Wednesday, Marvel revealed its initial lineup for “Avengers: Doomsday,” set to hit theaters in 2026. And, beyond the length of the announcement itself, there were a few other surprises in the group.

The reveal came in the form of a camera slowly panning outward, roughly every 15 minute, in a massive hangar, revealing cast chairs with the names of the stars one at a time. In total, there were 26 names revealed — though insiders say there are more surprises to come — and for the most part, it was who fans expected.

Still, as Marvel is prone to do, there were a few big surprises in there (though none as big as the reveal at San Diego Comic-Con last year that Robert Downey Jr. would be returning to the franchise as Doctor Doom).

With the announcement today that Patrick Stewart would be returning to the MCU as Professor Charles Xavier alongside his fellow X-Men in next year's Avengers: Doomsday, the Star Trek icon is positioned to take the crown as the longest-serving character actor in Marvel's on-screen history. He'll have played Professor X for 26 years across eight films by the time the big crossover film comes out next May, with his debut coming in 2000 in the original X-Men. However, his usurping of the position isn't guaranteed, as it relies on Hugh Jackman, who kicked off his tenure as Wolverine alongside Stewart in the mutant film, not appearing in the latest Avengers.

At 11 a.m. this morning, the Marvel Studios social media accounts started live-streaming a video they labeled as an all-caps Announcement. The video showed a soundstage where, one by one, chairs reserved for actors were revealed, with a new chair coming into view every 10 minutes or so. As it turns out, this was a very long and slow way of revealing the star-studded cast of Avengers: Doomsday, which is now heading into production and aiming for a May 1, 2026 theatrical release.

The first chair belonged to Chris Hemsworth, who has played Thor, the God of Thunder, in Thor, The Avengers, Thor: The Dark World, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Doctor Strange, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Thor: Love and Thunder. The second chair was reserved for Vanessa Kirby, who plays Susan Storm (a.k.a. Invisible Woman) in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which will be reaching theatres on July 25th.

Six years after Avengers: Endgame became one of the biggest movies of all time, the Avengers are finally assembling again.

During a nearly five-and-a-half hour livestream, Marvel Studios unveiled its cast for Avengers: Doomsday, revealing a mix of Marvel Cinematic Universe mainstays as well as actors from 20th Century Fox’s now-defunct X-Men universe and upcoming stars of Fantastic Four: First Steps. “The Electric State” is a world filled with robots, and odds are, you’re definitely going to recognize a lot of their voices.

Now streaming on Netflix, the film follows Michelle (Millie Bobby Brown), an teenager living on her own and navigating life in a society where robots — yes, robots, this movie takes place in an alternate version of the 1990s that’s much more futuristic — now live in exile after a failed uprising against humans.

Teaming up with a kind robot named Cosmo, Michelle sets out to find her younger brother, who she thought to be dead. Along the way, she also teams up with a smuggler and his own sassy robot sidekick.
