Hilarity thy name is Let's Bowl. You don't have to be an Olympic athlete to enjoy the side splitting antics on America's number 1 indoor bowling show, but it helps. Who doesn't love to bowl? Let's bowl is a riot, and charming as hell. Old school bowling in an old school lane, none of that high falutin wide world of sports nonsense. These are real Minnesotans, locking horns on the parquet floors, and bowling for vengeance and great prizes. I love Let's Bowl and you will too!
This show is one of the funnier things that Comedy Central has ever done, and is an integral part of Sunday night's triple threat of The Man Show, Let's Bowl and South Park. Pay close attention to Wally's dialogue- those are the best parts and Wally is one of the funniest charcters on TV right now. No matter whether you like bowling or not- this show is great and I recommend it whole-heartedly.
I can't put my finger on it, whether it's the matching suits that the commentators wear, the 50's-style theme song, or just the sheer absurdity of the show, I can't stop watching! I'm planning a trip to Minnesota just so I can be in the audience! I'm trying to think of people I can have small disputes with so I can be on the show! I am hooked on this show, and I can only hope that one day there will be enough episodes for Comedy Central to run a marathon.
I disagree with those who bash Let's Bowl. That show, though it ran only for one season, will forever rank as one of my favorite things...EVER! It was such a mockery! Wally and Chopper were hilarious hosts and what was up with that pig anyway? Ridiculous, one of the funniest things on TV. Watching Insomniac and Let's Bowl back-to-back was bliss. If any of you are into that Extreme Japanese Challenge thing that Spike TV plays, you'll LOVE Let's Bowl. May it rest in peace (alongside Sifl & Olly and The State).
This nutty show from the same state that gave us the all-time classic MST3K and the Coen Brothers is one of those rare things that you'll either "get" immediately, or you won't (and no amount of lecturing from the converted will ever change your mind). Personally, I just about fell off the sofa when Wally gave the "Inside Bowling" tips on how to mentally psych out your rival, including baseball bat and stick figure diagram noting "possible witness."
With bowling lifestyle references that aren't much of an exaggeration (cheap-o bowling lounges, drinking, and prostitutes) and prizes of used snowmobiles and meat, "Let's Bowl" creates a hilariously insane "one bubble off" universe. It's an original!
