10 Worst Cameos In Marvel Movies & TV Shows
Image
Marvel Studios ruled the cinematic landscape from 2008 until around 2019, thanks in no small part to the novelty of its shared universe, a concept every film studio tried and failed to mimic. Beginning with Jon Favreau's "Iron Man," the Marvel Cinematic Universe successfully propelled popular heroes and villains to the big screen, culminating with enormous blockbuster events in the form of "Avengers" movies, not to mention standout hits like Ryan Coogler's "Black Panther" and Jon Watts' "Spider-Man: No Way Home."

More impressively, the MCU made frequent use of the ultimate gimmick: cameos, often arising during mid-credit scenes, which usually introduced or teased new characters like Thanos (Josh Brolin) and the Collector (Benicio del Toro), who would often go on to play vital roles in later pictures. In fact, one could argue the MCU took off due to Samuel L. Jackson's surprising appearance as Nick Fury in "Iron Man.

The Canceled Hellraiser Prequel That Would Have Cast A Dark Knight Actor As Pinhead
Image
The "Hellraiser" movies, which originate from Clive Barker's "The Hellbound Heart" novella, have inflicted legendary suffering on their victims for almost 40 years. In that time, the franchise has traveled everywhere from New York City to medieval France to even outer space. Regardless of the location, however, one thing remains constant: The Hell Priest, aka Pinhead, and the Cenobites have such great sights to show anyone bold (or merely careless) enough to summon them using the Lament Configuration (a puzzle box with hellish powers).

In the original 1987 "Hellraiser" film, Frank Cotton (Sean Chapman) sets in motion the chain of events that befall his family at the hands of the Cenobites. However, all we learn about Frank is that he acquired the puzzle box, got punished, escaped from Hell, and rekindled an affair with his brother's wife while she delivered blood sacrifices to restore him. The time between him finding the...

The Scene That Ruined Dumbledore’s Legacy, ’Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’s Biggest Mistake Explained
Image
Dumbledore may be one of the wisest wizards to ever rock a robe, but Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince gave him a moment so questionable, it left us all awfully baffled. We’re talking about a scene that didn’t just bend his legacy, but straight-up cracked it.

For a character built on wisdom, foresight, and compassion, this one decision felt oddly out of character. Call it poor planning or just lazy writing, this moment turned the beloved headmaster into a baffling enigma.

The moment Half-Blood Prince turned Dumbledore into a sitting duck A still from Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince | Credits: Warner Bros.

Let’s get this out of the way: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince did Dumbledore dirty. In the book, our beloved headmaster had a plan. He immobilized Harry under the Invisibility Cloak, knowing full well the kid would jump in to save him if he could.

‘Firefly’ Cast: What Are They Doing in 2025?
Image
Nathan Fillion’s Firefly aired only eleven out of its fourteen episodes when Fox abruptly cancelled the series. The show didn’t have the necessary ratings to justify its budget, but received a cult following after its cancellation. There were calls for its revival, and the actors of the series often got together at Comic Cons to reminisce about their experience.

Firefly was set 500 years into the future, when humans have entered a new star system. The series followed the adventures of a group of misfits aboard the Serenity, a Firefly-class spaceship. This group of nine anti-heroes was led by Fillion’s Malcolm Reynolds.

While a revival rumor is still in the air, the stars of the series have moved on. Nathan Fillion, Morena Baccarin, Gina Torres, and Alan Tudyk have all gone on to build great careers for themselves and are actively part of successful projects. Here’s...

Kiefer Sutherland Gave One of His Best Performances in a 33 Year Old Movie Where Tom Cruise Overshadowed Him
Image
Kiefer Sutherland can play the protagonist in the story, like Jack Bauer from 24 or Tom Kirkman from Designated Survivor. And he can easily slip into a cruel antagonist, like David from The Lost Boys or Freddie Lee Cobb from A Time to Kill. The variety of roles in Sutherland’s filmography, spread over more than four decades, speaks volumes about the actor.

However, there is one role for which we never appreciated Sutherland enough. In 1992, Sutherland took on the supporting role alongside the likes of Tom Cruise, Jack Nicholson, Demi Moore, and Kevin Bacon in A Few Good Men. He had a limited role in the film as Lt Jonathan Kendrick, but this villain performance of the actor was different from his others.

Before Becoming A Horror Icon, Saw's Tobin Bell Showed Up In Seinfeld
Image
With over 100 IMDb credits to his name, Tobin Bell first debuted in an uncredited role in Woody Allen's "Manhattan" in 1979, and has been consistently performing in film and television for more than four decades. But his legacy and most memorable performance is with the "Saw" series thanks to his role as the maniacal trap architect and retribution seeker Jigsaw, aka John Kramer. "Saw" put the so-called "torture porn" subgenre on the map and features one of the most convoluted timelines in movie history, but what anchors all the twists and turns is Tobin Bell's chillingly even-keeled performance.

Interestingly, one of Tobin Bell's many credits is on the NBC sitcom "Seinfeld," in season 4, episode 18, "The Old Man." The episode centers around Jerry and the gang volunteering for a senior citizen program, which inadvertently ends up helping with Kramer and Newman's scheme to make money by selling records. Tobin Bell's...

Why George Lucas's VFX Company Refused To Work On James Cameron's Avatar
Image
James Cameron's 2009 ultra-hit "Avatar" seems to be praised and lambasted in equal measure. The film's script is often mocked for its simple dialogue, poor characterization, and embarrassing "going native" conceit. At the same time, though, one cannot fault the film for its dazzling special effects. Cameron utilized the most advanced computers available to visually realize Pandora and the Na'Vi, making them look as realistic as he could. And he succeeded. The effects are legitimately amazing. Say what you will about the story, "Avatar" is one of the slickest movies ever made.

The lead visual effects company on "Avatar" was the New Zealand-based Wētā FX, the studio responsible for the "Lord of the Rings" movies, and many others. The sheer volume of digital effects famously drove prices up on "Avatar," leaving its budget somewhere close to $237 million. As we all know, though, "Avatar" made all that money back and then some.

11 TV Characters Who Came Back From the Dead, From Jon Snow to Buffy
Image
Why did TV fans have such a hard time believing that some of their favorite characters were just killed off? Because so many TV shows like “Game of Thrones,” “Supernatural” and “The X-Files” have brought back supposedly dead characters so often that the word “dead” has kind of lost all meaning in genre TV.

As for “9-1-1,” which killed off beloved fire captain Bobby Nash (Peter Krause) last week, the series’ first responders were routinely saved from certain death over and over in the previous seven seasons, that it seemed like none of them could ever really die.

Whether the fans, or the plot, demanded it, here are 11 onscreen deaths that were reversed by magic, rewritten or simply retconned away. Naturally, beware, there are lots of spoilers below.

“I wasn’t going to be a part of it”: Kiefer Sutherland Refused to Meet the US Military Who Used ‘24’ to Justify Inhumane Torture
Image
Kiefer Sutherland’s 24 ran for 9 seasons on Fox, followed by a short-lived spin-off series, 24: Legacy. Sutherland plays counter-terrorist federal agent Jack Bauer, who uses any means necessary to protect the country. Bauer takes things too far in the series, using inhumane torture to get information out of criminals and terrorists.

However, Sutherland doesn’t personally support such measures and is often annoyed when people accuse his show of inspiring torture techniques. He once shared that he refused to meet a delegation from West Point who claimed that the show had negative consequences on military training.

How Star Trek: Enterprise's Creator Feels About The Controversial Series Finale
Image
In 2005, it appeared that "Star Trek" was pretty much over. And, rather tragically, it ended with more of a whimper than a bang. "Star Trek: Voyager" had finally completed its run in May of 2001, and a new prequel series, called just "Enterprise" at the time, was slated to begin the following September. When the World Trade Center Incident occurred on 9/11, though, the national mood changed overnight. The public was very suddenly uninterested in a sci-fi franchise about peace and diplomacy, and turned their attention to grittier, more violent, revenge-based entertainments like "24." "Star Trek" had been flagging in the ratings for a while anyway, but when "Enterprise" debuted on September 24, it seemed doomed from the start.

The "Star Trek" death knell became official in 2002 with the utter failure of "Star Trek: Nemesis," the lowest-grossing "Star Trek" movie to date. Meanwhile, "Enterprise" was eventually re-titled "Star Trek: Enterprise," and it began dabbling with long-form,...

Kiefer Sutherland fought his way through Hollywood to reach the stage of being called one of the finest stars that the entertainment industry has ever seen, with iconic projects like 24 and Designated Survivor.

Although these projects were the ones that gave fame to Sutherland’s name, there were some things that the actor was unable to do in each one. That is why Kiefer Sutherland agreed to take part in a remake of a 1993 Oscar-winning Harrison Ford film.

Dragon Ball Super Officially Teases Black Frieza Saga With New Illustration

Three years after being teased, Black Frieza’s return to Dragon Ball Super now appears closer than ever based on the series’ latest volume release. Dragon Ball Super Volume 24 completes the current manga collection while hinting at bigger things for the future.

Dragon Ball Super Volume 24 will be released in Japan on April 4, 2025. With the latest volume only a few days away, new photos of the printed collection are being shared online. Initially, the cover art of Ultra Instinct Goku, Ultra Ego Vegeta, Beast Gohan, Orange Piccolo and the Legendary Super Saiyan Broly was revealed in early March, suggesting these heroes will be the new main characters for future stories. Now, the back cover of Volume 24 has been released, and it answers an important question about what sort of monumental threat would require assembling heroes as strong and heroic as these. The answer, of course, is Black Frieza.

Denis Arndt, Tony-Nominated Star of ‘Heisenberg’ and Actor in David E. Kelley Shows, Dies at 86
Image
Denis Arndt, the familiar character actor who appeared on L.A. Law, Picket Fences and other shows for David E. Kelley and earned a Tony nomination for his turn opposite Mary-Louise Parker in the Broadway two-hander Heisenberg, has died. He was 86.

Arndt died Tuesday at his longtime cabin home in Ashland, Oregon, his family announced.

Arndt also portrayed the newlywed husband of Mary Tyler Moore’s character on the 1988 CBS sitcom Annie McGuire — Adrien Brody played his son — and he was one of the cops ogling Sharon Stone’s Catherine Tramell in the iconic interrogation scene in Paul Verhoeven’s Basic Instinct (1992).

Arndt started out with Kelley on NBC’s L.A. Law as lawyer Jack Sollers, who arrives in season five (1990-91) to represent the naughty Rosalind Shays (Diana Muldaur) in her sexual discrimination case against McKenzie Brackman.

He recurred as another lawyer, Franklin Dell, on CBS’ Picket Fences over four...

Brad Dourif Joins Fiona Dourif in Max Series “The Pitt” Next Week [Image]
Image
The legendary Brad Dourif is largely retired from acting these days, with the three-season “Chucky” television series being the only real exception to the rule. Dourif voiced killer doll Chucky throughout the series, and he even played Charles Lee Ray in the flesh in the third season. When and where can you see Brad Dourif next? On Max’s medical drama, “The Pitt”!

A sneak peek at the fourteenth episode of the debut season of Max’s “The Pitt,” which airs on Thursday, April 3, reveals that Brad Dourif will make an appearance on the show.

What’s extra special about Brad Dourif’s role on “The Pitt” next week is that he looks to be playing the father of Dr. Cassie McKay, who is played by his real-life daughter Fiona Dourif. Before landing a role on “The Pitt,” Fiona of course starred alongside her dad in “Chucky” – and in a fun little twist,...

The Pitt Season 2 Is On The Way, With A Promise That's Music To Our Ears
Image
"The Pitt," the latest hit for HBO's proprietary streamer Max is already set to return for a second season. Now, in an interview with Vulture, Casey Bloys, the chairman and CEO of HBO and Max Content, has all but promised that the series will return annually. TV audiences who grew up before the advent of streaming know this is just how the medium used to work, so this is particularly welcome news from Bloys. The executive also spoke to the difficulty of making high-concept, big-budget shows that require a lot of time to craft and perfect ... and how "The Pitt" is just as excellent as those series, yet is made in such a way that it can actually release a season each year without much trouble.

Speaking to Bloys, Vulture's Josef Adalian asked him about each season of "The Pitt" being 15 episodes, which the executive described as a callback to older network procedurals.

10 Best TV Shows Like Hulu's Paradise
Image
There may be trouble in "Paradise," but that's just how we like it. The hit Hulu series (created by "This Is Us" showrunner Dan Fogelman) landed on the streamer in 2025 to positive reviews and much buzz, quickly making a case for itself as one of James Marsden's best TV shows ever. The "X-Men" alum plays slain U.S. President Cal Bradford, whose sudden death sends Secret Service agent Xavier Collins (Sterling K. Brown) on a winding mystery through a post-apocalyptic America.

Along the way, Xavier comes across hidden clues, government secrets, and deep state conspiracies, all hallmarks of a story rooted in a subgenre that is perhaps the guiltiest of pleasures -- the speculative political thriller. Stories under this umbrella can just as easily be titillating, smartly written, and dramatically engrossing as they are oblivious, self-important, and totally ridiculous. Sometimes, a story can be all these things at once,...

Image
Portraying Jack Bauer in 24, Kiefer Sutherland has cemented a legacy that is not only a highlight of his illustrious acting career but has also left a lasting mark on television. Establishing such a legacy has been the result of the actor’s strong commitment to his role, which often blurred the lines between him and his iconic character.

Amid the successful run of the TV series, Sutherland often spent considerable time in makeup to have his character’s tattoo applied. To streamline the process, he ultimately decided to get the same tattoo himself, permanently embodying a piece of Jack Bauer in real life.

“It doesn’t bother me”: ‘24’ Reboot Sounds Great, but I’m Convinced They Really Can’t Replace Kiefer Sutherland After His Remark
Image
The 24 franchise has become one of the most popular action franchises of all time, and a major chunk of this recognition and fame goes to none other than Kiefer Sutherland. This is because the actor immaculately embodied the lead role of Jack Bauer for more than a decade, giving such an epic performance that we fans aren’t willing to have anyone else in the role anymore.

Then again, reboots of such major sagas are only inevitable, and for one as successful and fan-beloved as this respective one, it doesn’t sound like a bad idea as it will make a lot of fans’ wishes come true. But while that’s that, I’m convinced no one could replace Sutherland and work in his place better than the actor himself, especially after his remark on his 24 journey.

“That’s why I like Jack Bauer that much”: There’s No ‘24’ Without Kiefer Sutherland but Another Show Needs Him More Than Ever
Image
Kiefer Sutherland was best known as one of the young ones in Stand By Me before he hit it big with the show 24. Playing Jack Bauer, a federal agent tasked with thwarting a terrorist threat within 24 hours, Sutherland became a household name and his character became one of the most celebrated agents in pop culture.

However, Sutherland is one of the few actors who got to own yet another action-oriented character on TV. He starred as the reluctant President Thomas Kirkman in Designated Survivor, which unfortunately did not enjoy the longevity of 24 despite his character’s similarity to Bauer.

“I’d say it to his face”: ‘24’ Star Hated Kiefer Sutherland So Much That He Felt Vince McMahon Was a Much Better Partner
Image
For nine seasons spread across the course of almost a decade, 24 has ruled the screens and fans’ hearts with some of the most epic plotlines ever, with Kiefer Sutherland at the center of it as the leading protagonist Jack Bauer. Throughout its run, it picked up a lot of other actors and characters too, and Freddie Prinze Jr. was yet another one of them.

24. | Credits: Fox.

Playing a character among the lead cast, Prinze Jr. was a part of the smash-hit saga for one whole season—except that it all didn’t really pan out all too well for him: He openly confessed to hating working with Sutherland all the while trash-talking about his experience on the series. In fact, he hated it so much that he even claimed Vince McMahon was a better partner than Sutherland!

Kiefer Sutherland has starred in innumerable projects over the course of the past few decades that he has been a part of the entertainment industry, but the 24 franchise still manages to top the list. How ‘Severance’ and ‘The Last of Us’ could rewrite the Emmy history books for sci-fi
Image
Can Apple TV+'s Severance or HBO's The Last of Us win Best Drama Series? For most of Emmy history, the answer to that question would be no. That's because they're science-fiction shows, which have historically been under-appreciated by voters and thus underrepresented at the Emmys. Only one sci-fi show has ever won Best Drama Series: Lost in 2005. That was 20 years ago, but the TV Academy has changed drastically in the intervening years.

Some of the most beloved shows in TV history are sci-fi or fantasy, including Star Trek and Doctor Who that have been around for almost as long as TV has existed. But Emmy winners for drama series usually follow real-world professionals like doctors, lawyers, and police officers. Even as those procedural genres started falling out of fashion in the 21st century, the subjects that replaced them were still couched in reality: politics (The West Wing), organized crime,...

Brady Corbet Net Worth in 2025: How Rich Is ‘The Brutalist’ Director?

Brady Corbet is proving himself to be one of the most popular voices in independent cinema. His new film, The Brutalist, has earned praise from critics and recognition from the Academy. With a rare career journey from acting in Thirteen and Mysterious Skin to the very unique directing debut on The Childhood of a Leader, Corbet’s vision has allowed him to receive various prestigious awards, like the Silver Lion of the Venice International Film Festival and Best Director Award at the Golden Globes, for The Brutalist.
