The Comic-Con 2012 schedule has now been released in full, and barring any major updates, is set. The blessing and curse of being an attendee is deciding which panels/autograph sessions/special events to attend, when they conflict. And they always do.
For you to see for yourself, below are what we are calling the “headliner” panels; those panels that are taking place in Hall H, Ballroom 20, Room 6Bdf, and the just-next-door Hilton Indigo Ballroom, the four major venues for panels. There are descriptions of each panel as well as the show(s) and/or movie(s) they are there to discuss.
See how many conflicts you might have, or how you might arrange time and space to somehow attend these plus spend every day in the vendors’ Exhibit Hall and chasing zombies in the nearby The Walking Dead Escape. By the way, if you figure that out, Please let us know.

Another day, another schedule for the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con. Next up is Day 3 - Saturday, July 14th - which is just about as chock-full of events for the horror crowd as Friday the 13th!
As always, our focus is the horror panels, but included are a few others that we think will be of interest as well. Remember that times and participants are subject to change so keep your eyes on the official Sdcc site for updates. And hopefully they'll provide a fix soon for the Sdcc smartphone app - in years past it's been extremely helpful.
10:00-11:00 Comic-Con How-To: Anatomy of a Fight Scene, Part One— Stories are about conflict, and there is no purer form of conflict than a good ol' fisticuffs-style brawl-or sword fight, laser battle, western shootout, or even two chicks pulling each other's hair. How do you put that much action down on...

A look at what's new on DVD today:
"The Thin Red Line" (1998)
Directed by Terrence Malick
Released by Criterion Collection
No, you won't be getting the hours of deleted Adrien Brody or George Clooney footage from Malick's World War II epic, but this Criterion version is most certainly an upgrade from the previous bare-bones DVD edition with 14 minutes of outtakes, new interviews with Sean Penn and composer Hans Zimmer, among others from the cast and crew, an audio commentary with cinematographer John Toll, production designer Jack Fisk and producer Grant Hill and more.
"7 Days" (2010)
Directed by Daniel Grou
Released by Mpi Home Video
French Canadian horror author Patrick Senécal adapts his own novel to celluloid about a doctor (Claude Legault) who intercepts the man (Remy Girard) who raped and murdered his young daughter and turns the tables on him in a cabin in the woods. With a résumé including TV series like "Vampire High,...

What was the worst day of your childhood? For most it's the day a favorite pet died or a parent passes. For the lucky view it's just a birthday that didn't bring that much coveted gift. For Claire Thompson (Meghan Ory, 'Vampire High'), it was the day she found several children murdered in a local foster home. Flash forward 14 years and Claire is in college studying acting. Her mind is as messed up as they come. Therapy, medication and night terrors are everyday events for this unfortunate young woman. Her therapist suggests she go back to the house to try and jog her...

The Canadian, French language production “7 Days” (“Les Sept Jours du Talion”) is a film which has been making a stir amongst fans of tough cinema following its well received and much talked about debut at Sundance in 2010. The film was helmed by television director Daniel Grou (who also goes by the odd name of Podz, and who was responsible for episodes of “Vampire High” and “The Hunger”), and was adapted for the screen by author Patrick Senécal from his own novel. Given its high concept torture premise, the film has unsurprisingly drawn comparisons with popular hits such as “Saw” and “Hostel”, as well as, more tellingly, the likes of Lars von Trier’s “Antichrist” and Michael Haneke”s “Funny Games”. Brave viewers can now judge for themselves, as the film arrives on region 2 DVD via E1 Entertainment. The plot doesn’t waste much time in getting down to business, as...

E1 Entertainment have announced the UK DVD release of 7 Days on 23rd August 2010.
Directed by Daniel Grou (Vampire High; Big Wolf On Campus; The Hunger), aka Podz, and adapted for the screen by author Patrick Senécal (5150 Elm’s Way; Evil Words) from his best-selling novel, ‘Les sept jours du talion’, 7 Days is an intense and disturbing French Canadian thriller in the tradition of the Saw movies, but if they had been directed by Michael Haneke or Lars von Trier.
Middle-aged surgeon Bruno Hamel (Claude Legault), his wife Sylvie (Fanny Mallette) and their eight-year-old daughter Jasmine (Rose-Marie Coallier) are living a happy but fairly uneventful life in the quiet suburban town of Drummondville. That all changes one beautiful autumn afternoon when Jasmine fails to return home from school and is later found to have been raped and murdered by a local man, Anthony Lemaire (Martin Dubreuil). The loss of their daughter...
