Part of what many fans love about the Marvel Cinematic Universe is how Marvel Studios hints at the next big event or reveals surprise character introductions with each movie. It evokes one of the most iconic things about Marvel Comics, with big font stingers exhorting True Believers to stay tuned. Even if the onslaught of MCU media has worn deep tracks in the greater film/TV audience over the last decade, there's still a thrill to a well-executed stinger or credit cookie.
However, for every promise that the Avengers will return or a tease of Thanos' threatening rise to power, there's a chance that we might not see a cool hint pay off down the road. There are several things that have been teased in the MCU, especially in credits scenes that have yet to yield any significant results. While that can be disappointing, especially for fans of newly introduced characters or plot threads,...

Genndy Tartakovsky’s Fixed gets the Coyote vs Acme treatment at Warner Bros. after the studio decided not to release it. With the relaunch of Warner Bros. Animation, the studio was supposed to offer a global platform for animated films. However, Fixed is the latest in the list of animated films passed on by the studio.
Genndy Tartakovsky’s Fixed | Sony Pictures Animation
WB earlier abandoned the Scoob! prequel, Scoob Holiday Haunt!, and Coyote vs. Acme. They also passed on Bruce Timm’s Batman: Caped Crusader, which luckily found a platform in Prime Video. Some of the live-action films also got the same treatment, like Brendan Fraser’s Batgirl, which was a completed project.

With the Avengers becoming torch-bearers of the past and their memory serving as mythical reminders of what the MCU once used to be, fans too have languished in the glory days of old. After spending years and billions in resources behind rebuilding the franchise, it’s high time Marvel regrouped its best and brightest for a team-up movie in an effort to jumpstart its lost momentum.

Smith and Martin Lawrence may be in the career wilderness but the serial rule-breakers are back with a winning cop comedy
Martin Lawrence, America’s lost hero of broad comedy, has had his movie profile kept on a kind of life-support by the near 30-year-old Bad Boys franchise; but some of us furtive Lawrence fans still sheepishly bond over re-watchings of the great man’s masterpiece, his 2001 merrie England adventure Black Knight alongside Tom Wilkinson. Now Lawrence appears in the fourth Bad Boys film in the remarkable situation of being in better career shape than his Oscar-winning co-star Will Smith, who is still in disgrace for the Slap Heard Around the World and then, just as importantly, the F-Bombs Heard Around the World So Everyone Knew the Slap Was Real.

If you keep up with our updates, you’ve probably noticed that ‘Blade’ gets mentioned almost weekly. We often share news about plot changes and delays. It’s safe to say this movie’s had a rough time in development – there have been a lot of rewrites and some big names backing out. The latest rumors, from Daniel Richtman, just confirm what we shared a few weeks back: ‘Blade’ won’t be a period piece anymore, and Mia Goth is still set to play the villain.
Additionally, it’s said that the movie will connect to the ‘Midnight Sons’ project. Currently, it’s set in the present day. Michael Green has reportedly been brought in for rewrites and is now the sole scriptwriter for the movie.
‘Blade’ is reportedly now set to take place in present days.

"Deliverymen must be tough." Netflix has revealed a teaser trailer for another large-scale sci-fi series from Korea, this one titled Black Knight, based on the comic series known as Delivery Knight. This will debut for streaming in May. Netflix has been developing tons of Korean films and series, specifically lots of sci-fi, including JUNG_E, Space Sweepers, and The Silent Sea. Black Knight is set in the year 2071, when it is impossible to live without a respirator due to extreme air pollution. The Korean peninsula is a wasteland, so delivery drivers play a crucial role in the survival of its inhabitants. The legendary delivery man who goes by the name "5-8" with extraordinary fighting skills meets a refugee who dreams of becoming a delivery driver, the only hope of refugees. Netflix announced Kim Woo-bin would star in one of the anticipated K-drama lineups for 2023. The actor will be the male lead in the sci-fi drama Black Knight. Set to release in mid-May, Black Knight is based on a webtoon by Lee Yoon-kyun. While most K-drama adaptations stick to the source material, Black Knight makes a noticeable tweak to the character Sa-wol from the webtoon.
Actor Kang Yoo-seok and ‘Black Knight’ webtoon character Sa-wol | via Netflix ‘Black Knight’ takes place in a dystopian world where deliverymen help humanity stay alive
South Korea is unrecognizable in the K-drama’s official posters, as it became a barren wasteland by 2071. In a dystopian world, air pollution has become extreme and changed humanity’s way of life. The only way for the remaining 1% to survive is by purchasing oxygen and wearing filtration masks outside the safe zone.
While humanity stays safe indoors, a select group of people risks their lives.

The Black List founder Franklin Leonard kicked off the virtual Sundance panel “Array 10: A Decade of Disruption” by chatting with Array founder and Emmy-winning Ava DuVernay, President Tilane Jones and VP of Public Programming Mercedes Cooper about the origin of the narrative change collective which puts shine on creators and artists of color as well as women filmmakers.
Leonard and DuVernay reminisced about special dinners of Sundance past where, at the first one DuVernay hosted included “more Black folks in the room than at Sundance” as a whole. The conversation shifted to a dinner party icebreaker which Leonard loves to ask his guests: “What is your guilty pleasure movie?”
Cooper claimed the classic Mahogany as her guilty pleasure while Jones said Breakfast at Tiffany’s was hers — DuVernay quickly intervened.
“These are not guilty pleasures ladies!” said DuVernay. “A guilty pleasure is a film you slightly feel hesitant to share — which I will share.

There used to be a comedian named Louis Ck who had a standup bit about the historical upside of being white. “Here’s how great it is to be white,” he would say. “I could get in a time machine and go to any time and it would be fucking awesome when I get there. That is exclusively a white privilege — Black people can’t fuck with time machines.” Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead’s dense and dingy sci-fi thriller “Synchronic” is, among far too many other things, the story of a Black man who fucks with a time machine. Complications ensue.
This isn’t the first film to broach the subject (“Men in Black III” and Martin Lawrence’s “Black Knight” are just two of the more famous examples), and yet few of them have been as pointed or philosophical about the relationship between race and nostalgia. “Synchronic” may...

On Game of Thrones, Kit Harington played the lonely, taciturn and somber Jon Snow, whose status as a bastard child within the Stark household informed his aloof personality. In next year’s McU film Eternals, he’s set to play the Black Knight, and a broody name like that might make you assume he’ll be a similarly gloomy hero. Well, a new interview with the actor hints that this may not be the case.
Speaking with The Telegraph, Harington revealed that his parents raised him in what he describes as a “gender-fluid” environment, saying:
“I idolised my mum. I followed her around the house. It was because of her that I wanted to be an actor. She used to take us to the theatre at least twice a week. I asked for a Mighty Max and she bought me a Polly Pocket. I asked for an Action Man and...

We haven’t heard any concrete news surrounding the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Eternals for months, besides the studio recently dropping the ‘The’ from the title. Minor cosmetic changes aside, anticipation is starting to rise for the intergalactic epic, which has the potential to bring something completely unique to a franchise that’s been around for well over a decade, which is no easy feat.
There’s only a little over five months to go until Eternals hits theaters, meaning that we surely can’t be too far away from a debut trailer, and Marvel might even be considering attaching it to November’s Black Widow in an effort to draw some extra paying customers into the slowly-recovering theatrical industry.

Game of Thrones fans were thrilled when it was revealed that co-stars Kit Harington and Richard Madden would be sharing the screen again in The Eternals, although their characters couldn’t be more different. Madden is playing the all-powerful Ikaris, while Harington will be the only major human among the ensemble.
His Dane Whitman might be a mere mortal, but thanks to the power of a mystical sword he becomes the Black Knight, which puts him on a more even playing field with the rest of his immortal alien teammates. Having a regular Joe be part of the intergalactic squad presents a relatively straightforward method of connecting The Eternals with the rest of the McU’s earthbound heroes, and a new report from insider Mikey Sutton claims that Black Knight might even end up becoming a member of the Avengers in the future.

As the Marvel Cinematic Universe slowly expands on the rest of its comic book-inspired world, we’re going to meet more super groups than just the Avengers. Among them will be the Eternals, who are getting their own self-titled movie in 2021. We’ve already been introduced to one Eternal in the McU, as grand villain Thanos owes some of his epic abilities to his mutant-Eternal heritage, but he might not be the only Eternal we’ve run into so far.
In the ‘70s comic series of the same name, Marvel introduced three new races, the Celestials, Eternals, and Deviants, each with their own backstory. The Celestials were god-like beings who experimented with human DNA to created the hybrid races, the Eternals and Deviants. The two were polar opposites, with the Eternals characterized as superpowered immortal beings who looked like humans, while the Deviants suffered from unstable genetic mutations, which rendered them looking like monstrous,...

Game of Thrones may have gone out with a whimper after fans were left massively disappointed by the final season, but it will long remain a cultural landmark and one of the most popular and iconic shows in the history of both the fantasy genre and television at large.
Now that the core cast are no longer committed to multi-season contracts, they’re freer than they’ve been in a long time to pursue other ventures, and an awful lot of them seem to have been making the jump into comic book blockbusters. Sophie Turner played the title role in critical and commercial disaster Dark Phoenix, Kit Harington and Richard Madden will both be seen in The Eternals, Peter Dinklage showed up in Avengers: Infinity War as Eitri and Maisie Williams is still waiting for The New Mutants to be released after originally shooting the X-Men spinoff in 2017.

Just a few months ago, Marvel fans were gearing up for both Black Widow in May and The Eternals in November. Of course, that’s not to be anymore and we’re only getting the single McU pic this year. With Bw taking the November release slot, the aforementioned superhero ensemble flick has moved to February. That may be a while away, but it sounds like Marvel is working on something to reward fans for their patience.
As pointed out by McU Cosmic’s Jeremy Conrad, Amit Chaudhari – who’s been accurate when it comes to imminent trailer info in the past – is claiming that sources have told him the studio has got something up their sleeves when it comes to The Eternals. Chaudhari can’t say whether this is a full teaser trailer or perhaps a smaller sneak peek, but apparently something is on its way.

After being pushed back to February 2021 as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase Four delays, we’ll have to wait even longer to find out some concrete details about The Eternals. After all, there isn’t much point in trying to predict what’s going to happen in an intergalactic adventure based around a group of immortal aliens that’s set to take place over thousands of years.
We do know that the title characters will be forced to do battle with their arch-nemeses the Deviants though, and with Kevin Feige admitting that the Eternals are more than aware of the existence and activities of the Avengers, they might even be linked to Thanos somehow, given that the Mad Titan’s comic book history places him as the son of two Eternals and a carrier of the Deviants gene.

Thanos might’ve been killed – twice over, in fact – in Avengers: Endgame, but the shadow of the Mad Titan will still continue to be felt in the McU. The Eternals is coming up in Phase 4, for example, and the villain actually belongs to that race. Or their mutant rivals, the Deviants, more specifically. And the mention of Thanos’ father A’lars in Avengers: Infinity War has got fans wondering whether he could appear in the movie.
Of course, there’s also Thanos’ brother, Starfox. Also known as Eros of Titan, Starfox is generally depicted as a hero who has the power to control other people’s emotions (as creepy as that is), having been a member of the Avengers at various points. Rumors have said that he was originally attached to appear in The Eternals, but plans changed and we shouldn’t expect to see him in the film.

As we wade deeper into the uncertain waters of isolated living, the list of movies and TV shows you haven’t seen already may be starting to dwindle. But fear not, quarantine content consumers — HBO is out with its list of everything new coming to the streaming service in May, and there are lots of fresh options to keep you entertained this month.
Popular movies like “BlacKkKlansman,” “Crazy Rich Asians,” “Jaws” and “School of Rock” are all arriving Friday, May 1. Plus, the director’s cut of “Little Shop of Horrors,” “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” and “The Art of Getting By,” to name a few.
TV shows arriving throughout the month include the premiere of limited series “I Know This Much Is True” starring Mark Ruffalo, out May 10, and the season finale of HBO’s dark comedy “Run” starring Merritt Wever and Domhnall Gleeson, out May 24.

May isn’t quite summer yet but it is usually time that the networks start wrapping up their newest shows and preparing for a relatively fallow summer period. Since HBO isn’t a network, it has no such business model. But May sees the winding down of some HBO blockbusters all the same.
While there are some notable new releases for HBO in May 2020, the bigger story might be the things that are ending. Westworld concludes its third season on May 3 while new series Run wraps up on May 24. Thankfully the film losses in May aren’t too bad for HBO, unless the Agent Cody Banks saga drives a lot of traffic.
The most notable TV premiere in May is I Know This Much is True, a book adaptation starring Mark Ruffalo. This is a very bleak story coming along at a bleak time in history but perhaps those two things will cancel out.

When you hear the phrase ‘CGI costume in a superhero movie,’ most people tend to have flashbacks to Ryan Reynolds’ terribly animated outfit in Green Lantern, something the actor himself would go on to poke fun at in Deadpool. However, with the advances in technology, a lot of costumes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been very convincingly created using visual effects, making it increasingly difficult to know where the practical ends and the digital begins.
While it’s obviously heavily used during the action sequences, even when it comes to minor closeups and dialogue scenes, Marvel Studios have used CGI to either partially or entirely create the costumes for Iron Man, War Machine, Spider-Man and Black Panther on the big screen, while Brie Larson’s hair was added to Avengers: Endgame in post-production.

The plot’s dumb but there’s plenty to enjoy as Will Smith and Martin Lawrence return after 17 years to trade jibes and blow stuff up
Martin Lawrence may not have starred in a motion picture for close to a decade, but he has a special place in my life. When I went to see his dopey 2001 comedy Black Knight, it was the first time I truly laughed with abandon post-9/11. With absolute seriousness, I will be forever grateful. So, while Bad Boys for Life has a completely asinine story, generic action, predictable plot beats, moronic dialogue and truly reprehensible politics, I still had a good time.
Lawrence, who can tell an entire story on his face in one reaction shot, must shout “Oh shit!” a hundred times in Bad Boys for Life. Each time it is funny for a different reason. He uses an exclamatory “Oh shit!” the way Rembrandt used oils.

The Eternals, Marvel’s second and final movie of 2020, is still undergoing filming in the UK. While previous set pics have captured a part of the shoot involving the whole ensemble superhero team together, right now the production appears to be splitting them off in different locations. For example, Angelina Jolie – who’s playing Thena – is known to be shooting some scenes in Oxford University’s Museum of Natural History.
These latest photos, meanwhile, focus on Marvel newcomer Kit Harington, who’s joining the franchise as Dane Whitman/Black Knight, and Gemma Chan, making her second McU appearance as Sersi after starring in Captain Marvel as Minn-Erva. And as you can see below, Dane and Sersi appear to be having a cosy time together. This isn’t surprising, either, given all the reports that have said The Eternals will explore a romance between the human hero and the immortal woman.

Thanos may have been turned to dust by Iron Man at the conclusion of Avengers: Endgame, but is there any chance of the Mad Titan returning in the future of the franchise? Maybe, as after all, no one’s truly dead in the Marvel universe. Even if a resurrection isn’t on the cards, though, McU Phase 4 is expected to jump around the timeline a bit more, meaning Thanos could show up prior to his death. The Eternals is by far our best shot at seeing him again, but how likely is this to happen?
Well, we now have an answer to this question from the highest authority, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. Brazilian site Omelete caught up with the producer at Ccxp 2019 and asked him about whether Thanos is going to show up in Eternals. Intriguingly, Feige didn’t rule out the idea, admitting that there are “connections” to be drawn.

Fresh off completing Game of Thrones, Kit Harington signed up to join the McU over this past summer. Specifically, he’ll be featuring as part of the starry ensemble cast of The Eternals.
