Chicago – “Game of Thrones” is over and you’ve already binged “Orange is the New Black,” what are you supposed to do now? There are a few interesting new programs this season – FX’s “Tyrant” & “The Strain,” HBO’s “The Leftovers,” CBS’s “Extant,” and a few more – but it’s also a great time to catch up what you may have missed with new Blu-ray and DVD releases. There are five TV-to-Blu-ray releases this month that might warrant a look.
The top of the pile is also the best program of 2014 to date, a show that has really redefined the year in that it’s already used as a watermark (“Sure, Fargo and The Americans were great but they were no True Detective.”) With fantastic performances from Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey, HBO has wasted no time in getting the wildly acclaimed “True Detective” on Blu-ray and DVD a...

Comic-Con may be more than a month away, but scheduling for the panel-heavy pop culture convention is already well underway.
On Tuesday, Warner Bros. released their slate of series planning to make appearances in San Diego. Old favorites "Chuck," "Fringe," "The Vampire Diaries" and "Supernatural" will be joined by newcomers "Alcatraz," "Person of Interest" and "The Secret Circle."
Late last week, HBO announced that "Game of Thrones" scribe George R.R. Martin would be moderating a panel on his "Song of Ice and Fire" books that have been adapted for TV and already picked up for a second season. The cable network will also be hosting a "True Blood" panel with stars Stephen Moyer, Anna Paquin, Sam Trammell and creator Alan Ball.
And it isn't all about TV. Jon Favreau's "Cowboys & Aliens," starring Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig, will premiere at this year's convention.

This year's behemoth of a show, the San Diego Comic-Con 2011, is gonna be a strange one. With lots of movie studios holding back, and even Marvel Comics, rumored not to be there, this should be really interesting. One thing that will be happening though is a tremendous amount of love given to all the TV-based terrors.
Here's a brief look at what to expect:
Friday, July 22:
True Blood (Fox): Attendees include Alan Ball, Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Sam Trammell, Ryan Kwanten, Rutina Wesley, Kevin Alejandro, Kristin Bauer van Straten, Nelsan Ellis, Joe Manganiello and Deborah Ann Woll. The panel will be the show’s fourth Comic-Con appearance.
Saturday, July 23:
Teen Wolf (MTV) Terra Nova (Fox): The first episode will be screened with Stephen Lang, Rene Echevarria and Brannon Braga set to attend.

Yes, it’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year. In less than five weeks, all of geekdom (who were able to secure tickets) will be descending upon the San Diego Convention Center for a mass celebration of the wonder that is Comic-Con. The internet has been all a-flutter about which movies and television series will have a presence there this year. Studios have been leaking out scraps of information, but Comic-Con itself doesn’t usually release the schedule until about two weeks before the event.
Even then, things have been known to change right up until the week of the event. Those of us who packed the room for Terra Nova last year were more than a little irked that it had been pulled at the last minute, to be replaced by Teen Wolf. Lucky for us (and for the panel), we were pleasantly surprised with the substitute presentation.

Welcome to a new edition of Gays of Our Lives. You don’t want to miss the clips from last week’s episodes that I’ve got in Gool Theater, as they are the stuff that good soaps are made of. Meanwhile, As the World Turns introduces snarky Dr. Reid Oliver and a new story arc for Luke and Noah. Does it have potential or is it dead on arrival?
Also, find out if the second episode of Raw is any better than the first and see what happens when Lucas asks Marco what he wants from him on the German version of Good Times, Bad Times.
How was Dr. Reid Oliver’s debut last week?
In Gool Scoops And Spoilers, Kyle and Oliver discover their lives are getting much more complicated by the baby drama on Oltl and Luke learns just how evil his bio-dad Damian can be on As the World Turns.
