Rolfe Kanefsky said all of the actresses loved the fact that they were able to participate in the physical humor instead of just sitting around looking pretty and/or stripping naked like they usually do in their other roles.
Amy Brassette's debut.
Shot in three-and-a-half weeks with a budget of $5 million.
According to Rolfe Kanefsky, the main character Howard Duckell's name comes from Marvel Comics character Howard the Duck.
Writer/director Rolfe Kanefsky said the idea for this film originated from a sci-fi sex comedy script he wrote in 1993 called Hormones: The Movie. Julie Strain and Brinke Stevens were all set to star in it, but it was never made because he couldn't get the money together. In April 2000 he rewrote the script into what became Pretty Cool. Since he had better connections and had already made a few successful films since then, he had no problem getting funding.
