In the annals of magic history, few figures have risen to such global renown as Siegfried Fischbacher and Roy Horn, better known to most as German-American double act Siegfried & Roy. With their flamboyant attire, death-defying animal tricks, and passionate yet deeply private shared romance, the pair were a billion dollar grossing, Ocean's Eleven cameo making, occasionally controversial force of nature in the world of illusion. And now, having told the duo's story in podcast form with eight-part series Wild Things, THR is reporting that Apple has picked up a same-named limited series starring Andrew Garfield and Jude Law.
Set to be written and showrun by Only Murders In The Building co-creator John Hoffman, with WandaVision director Matt Shakman aboard to helm the pilot, the Apple TV+ bound series — which, like the podcast, will also be an eight-parter — will see Law playing Siegfried and Garfield taking on the role of Roy.

(Welcome to Tales from the Box Office, our column that examines box office miracles, disasters, and everything in between, as well as what we can learn from them.)
"I don't understand how they're not still shooting that film, and I don't understand how hundreds of people aren't dead." Those are the words of "Ocean's 11" director Steven Soderbergh in 2017, marveling at the cinematic classic that is 2015's "Mad Max: Fury Road." 10 years later, its place in cinema history is unquestioned.
It might then surprise many people to know that "Fury Road" did not top the box office when it arrived in the summer of 2015. Despite its reputation, it was actually not an outright hit upon release. In stark contrast, Universal's "Pitch Perfect 2" opened directly against Miller's long-awaited fourth "Mad Max" film as counterprogramming and, in defiance of most Hollywood logic at the time, won the day. Many of us thought that Ryan Gosling had reached his peak heartthrob era in 2004, as Noah in The Notebook. But we couldn’t be more wrong. Because with Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, the man just stole the show and reclaimed his heartthrob era. Well, now, Gosling seems to be leveling up with some major movie magic coming in 2025, and beyond.
From zooming through space to joining the Star Wars fam, and even collaborating with Margot Robbie to pull off slick heists in an Ocean’s Eleven prequel, Ryan Gosling seems to be setting the bar high. Also, this man’s range deserves its own Oscar. So, let’s dive into the Gosling-verse and mark those calendars.

Sutton Foster has always been Broadway’s shining star. But lately, it’s not just her stage magic making headlines—there’s been some behind-the-scenes buzz too, and it has everything to do with her rumored closeness to Hugh Jackman.
Ever since the duo teamed up for The Music Man, fans have been picking up on a little something extra between them. That sparkling chemistry didn’t just stay on stage—it seemed to follow them off it, and well, you know how fast the rumor mill spins when sparks are flying.
But before Jackman’s name started floating around in the gossip circles, Foster was happily married to screenwriter Ted Griffin. They were together for nearly a decade, and from the outside, it seemed perfect.
So when news of their split broke, around the same time Foster and Jackman were spending more time together, it caught a lot of people off guard.

Brad Pitt may finally have found happiness again, but his friends are worried he might blow it. After two high-profile divorces and years of personal setbacks, the Oscar-winning actor has been quietly building a life with Ines De Ramon. By all accounts, things are going well for the couple.
Now whispers from behind the scenes suggest that none other than George Clooney isn’t letting him off the hook so easily. Clooney, Pitt’s longtime friend and co-star, is said to be among those urging Pitt to stop dragging his feet and marry his girlfriend Ramon or lose her favor.

Writer, director, cinematographer, and editor Steven Soderbergh has many talents, but he attributes career longevity to one skill above all.
“I’m someone who tries to be adaptable,” said Soderbergh when he was a guest on IndieWire’s Toolkit podcast earlier this year. “I feel like the cockroach of the industry, like there’s no version of this that I can’t work in, no matter how nuclear it gets.”
In his 36 years of making films and television, Soderbergh has seen the business go through its share of ups, downs, shifting trends, and technological revolutions. Throughout, Soderbergh remained prolific, whether it meant rebooting the once-dead “Ocean’s 11” franchise, shooting movies on an iPhone, or trying his hand at self-distribution. No matter how much the way movies are watched or made has changed, he kept making original and unexpected films.
Which is why, considering how challenging things are for indie filmmakers...

Which Actors Nearly Made It To Ocean’s Eleven Crew Opposite Brad Pitt & George Clooney?(Photo Credit –Facebook)
Ocean’s Eleven is the kind of film that oozes incredible Vegas heists, slick suits, and a cast so star-studded it practically sparkled off the screen. George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and their charming crew made robbing casinos look like a high-fashion runway with a criminal twist. But here’s the twist you didn’t see coming: not everyone was eager to join the crew.
Believe it or not, several big-name stars turned down a seat at Danny Ocean’s table. Whether it was scheduling drama, script doubts, or just missing out on the Vegas glitz, some seriously famous faces passed on a chance to steal cinematic gold. Curious who they were? Let’s just say hindsight might be kicking in harder than a blackjack loss. Grab your chips, we’re dealing out the surprising...

When you think of Brad Pitt, what comes to mind? Handsome? Check. Talented? Undoubtedly. But it’s also worth noting that the actor has also made a pretty penny throughout his Hollywood career. One of his most iconic roles? That would be his depiction of Rusty Ryan in the Ocean’s franchise.
The Ocean’s Eleven movie in 2001 made huge ripples in Tinseltown, and Pitt’s role was just one part of what made it so indelible. But here’s the thing: just how much did Pitt make for playing Rusty Ryan? That’s the real question we’re here to answer.
Pitt has had a career that’s made him a superstar. From his early days in Thelma & Louise to being a producer on major hits like 12 Years a Slave, he’s accomplished it all. And when he got entangled in Ocean’s Eleven? Well, that turned out to...

Lionsgate has released the first trailer for Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, the third movie in its magic-fueled heist franchise. The trailer is packed with flashy illusions, fast cuts, and a new generation of performers. But three movies in, it’s worth asking whether the magic act has truly mastered the art of the con.
With its latest installment on the horizon, the movie series continues to dazzle with spectacle yet struggles to deliver the clever precision that defines the genre’s best. If Now You See Me is truly about heists, it might be time the franchise took a few notes from the Ocean’s movie series, where clever antics make the magic real.

From slick Vegas heists to messy break-ins, these movies prove crime can pay — at least on screen.
There are few things as bad ass — or as flat-out fun — as a well-executed heist movie. You want to be that cool, that calculated, and that smart, even if it’s just for a couple of hours. Watching the plan come together is half the thrill. Watching it all fall apart? Somehow even better. A great heist movie gives you both… the rush of seeing everything click into place, and the chaos when it inevitably goes off the rails. So if you’re in the mood for some big risks, big rewards, and even bigger betrayals, here are my top seven heist movies you can stream right now, ranked.

Steven Soderbergh was frustrated by the underwhelming box office performance of his latest film, “Black Bag,” and he is concerned that its poor earnings could represent a dark sign for Hollywood’s future.
When “Black Bag” hit theaters in March, the film received widespread praise and emerged as one of the most well-reviewed films of the year. Its critical success did not translate financially, though. The film grossed just over $38 million at the worldwide box office, falling short of its reported $50 million budget.
“It was frustrating. The people we needed to come out didn’t come out. And unfortunately, it’s impossible to really know why,” Soderbergh told Business Insider Monday about the spy thriller‘s financial performance. “My concern is that the rest of the industry looks at that result and just goes, ‘This is why we don’t make movies in that budget range for that audience because they don’t show up.

Gerard Butler is one of those actors who exists in a category all of his own: a subgenre unto himself. 2018’s Den Of Thieves was among the better of Butler’s prolific recent output, the film that introduced the world to the classically Butlerian role of ‘Big Nick’ O’Brien: a grizzled detective in the Los Angeles Major Crimes Unit with a shit-eating grin, a disastrous home life, a chain-smoking cigarette habit, and a distaste for playing things by the book.
The first film established a kind of trashy, brashy take on Michael Mann’s Heat: a two-sides-of-the-same-coin cops-and-robbers relationship between Butler’s Big Nick and Pablo Schreiber's bank robber Ray Merrimen. That frenemy dynamic returns, this time between Big Nick and O’Shea Jackson Jr's heist mastermind Donnie.
Look, nobody’s saying they’re De Niro and Pacino, but the dynamic between Big Nick and Donnie gets more interesting in this sequel,...

Leonardo DiCaprio’s Gritty Transformation In Revenant(Photo Credit –Facebook)
Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio gets into the skin of each character he portrays in his films. And on some occasions, he has gone to extreme lengths to play the role to perfection. During the shooting of one such film, the immensely dedicated actor stepped inside the carcass of an animal to make the scene look real. And this was the film that won him his first Academy Award in the Best Actor category. Can you guess the film’s name?

Brad Pitt Didn’t Just Star in Ocean’s Eleven ( Photo Credit – Prime Video )
When Ocean’s Eleven rolled the dice in 2001, it wasn’t just another glitzy heist movie. It was Brad Pitt’s masterclass in how to steal scenes without breaking a sweat. Sure, the cast was stacked with Hollywood royalty, Clooney, Roberts, Damon, but Pitt? He was the secret weapon. As Rusty Ryan, he didn’t just play second-in-command; he became the smooth-talking, snack-munching soul of the film. His effortless charm turned what could’ve been a one-off into a cultural reset for cool.
But Pitt wasn’t just there for the close-ups; he was instrumental behind the scenes too, helping shape the vibe, chemistry, and laid-back wit that made Ocean’s Eleven a genre-defining hit. It wasn’t just a reboot, it was a Brad Pitt blueprint. The kind of star power that makes a movie sparkle before the first line is even delivered.

For decades, Steven Soderbergh was the king of the hill when it came to the “one for them, one for me” model. We’re talking following up one of the highest-grossing movies of its year, Ocean’s Eleven, with the $2 million Full Frontal, along with balancing the Ocean’s trilogy with indies, classic Hollywood homages and four-plus-hour biopics on Argentine revolutionaries. More than 35 years into his career, Soderbergh has been the champion of mid-budget fare. But when it doesn’t succeed as intended, what’s the reaction?
Speaking with The Independent, Steven Soderbergh said it’s a bit of a disappointment that movies like his most recent, Black Bag — which had a budget around $50-$60 million — don’t have big turnouts at the theatre. “This is the kind of film I made my career on. And if a mid-level budget, star-driven movie can’t seem to get people over the age...

Only four people have been named People’s Magazine’s Sexiest Man of the Year on two separate occasions. Richard Gere, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, and George Clooney. You would probably find all four of those men in most women’s top-10 hottest actors list, without a question. But if there’s one guy who defined the term Silver Fox in Hollywood, it’s Gorgeous George. And this goes without any disrespect to Mr. Gere.
But what happens when your Silver Fox isn’t all that… silver anymore? Well, that is the current situation a lot of fans are dealing with, since Clooney is donning an entirely different ‘do. The Ocean’s ringleader has ditched his signature salt-and-pepper look for a darker, more clean-cut image. Now, he has his reasons. But will those reasons fly with the legions who swooned for the silver?

Released in 2001, Ocean’s Eleven is the quintessential Las Vegas heist film — a slick, high-stakes caper that reintroduced casino glamour to a new generation of moviegoers.
With a sharp script, a star-studded ensemble cast, and a plot that unfolds across some of the most iconic properties on the Las Vegas Strip, it’s no wonder the film remains a cult favourite over two decades later.
But while the plot may be fiction, the casinos are very real. The researchers at Wizard Slots have taken a closer look at the real-world venues that inspired the movie, how they were featured, and why they still captivate visitors to this day.
The Three Casinos at the Heart of Ocean’s Eleven
In Ocean’s Eleven, the crew sets their sights on not one, but three major Las Vegas casinos — all supposedly owned by the film’s antagonist, Terry Benedict.

Over the years, George Clooney has done more than just earn critical acclaim from fans worldwide for more than one reason, even though acting and filmmaking may be the primary ones. At the same time, the heartthrob has also been a victim of sincere criticism from those very fans, with some of them even being mad at him for his political stance.
That being said, while some of his fans defended him, there were quite a few others who were disappointed with his decision to go up against Joe Biden in the 2024 elections. However, when it comes to the actor’s own reaction to his fans’ disapproval of his political stance, Clooney claims he doesn’t know if it was ‘brave’ or not, but he is okay with people being mad at him for it.

You probably thought the next time Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling would share screen time, it’d be in hot pink convertibles with more glitter than the plot. But surprise! This is not another Barbie movie. Instead, the two are sliding into tailored suits, vintage cars, and potentially, casino vaults, because they’re teaming up for a prequel to the Ocean’s Eleven franchise.
Yep, that Ocean’s Eleven. The one with all the suave criminal masterminding and jazz-heavy montages of people looking very serious while eating shrimp cocktails. Now, before you imagine Ken trying to crack a safe while Barbie distracts a security guard with jazz hands, take a deep breath. This is not a dollhouse caper.

It is two years since Warner Bros’ Discovery boss David Zaslav made it clear that one big push he wanted to see happening at the studio is to draw out more content from some of their biggest IPs. Since then, a Harry Potter TV series has become a reality, a new Lord of the Rings movie is in development over a decade after the release of The Hobbit, and several other well-known properties are set for expansions. In a recent interview with Deadline, Warner Bros Pictures co-chairman/CEOs Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy shared a little insight into some other projects on the horizon. De Luca shared:
“Drew Goddard [is] writing and directing The Matrix. Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling and Jay Roach, with their Ocean’s Eleven prequel; Matt Reeves as producer, working with Marvel’s Werewolf By Night director Michael Giacchino on a remake of our library title Them; Andy Serkis directing Gollum.

Ever since his debut feature “sex, lies, and videotape” established him as a major director in 1989, Steven Soderbergh has been preoccupied with the secrets people keep and the lies they tell — both to others and themselves. It’s been a recurring theme in everything from heist films to true stories utilizing a variety of tones and styles and idiosyncratic comedies.
After 36 years of filmmaking and over 30 features, you might think Soderbergh has said everything he has to say on the subject. He’s now back with “Black Bag,” a spy thriller that might be his smartest and most beautifully directed meditation on secrets, lies, and betrayal to date — it’s certainly one of his most entertaining. Screenwriter David Koepp’s story of a British intelligence agent (Michael Fassbender) investigating five of his colleagues — including his wife (Cate Blanchett) — to figure out which one of them is a traitor is intricate,...

We always knew it would be rough once someone figured out Madeline Matlock’s secret, but the reveal was far better than we could have imagined.
First, we have been waiting all season for Olympia to learn about the pen and blow up on Matty. Granted, there was every chance it would be explained away.
Thankfully, the Matlock writers knew at this point in the story that we would want to see the fallout of Matty’s lies to Olympia.
(Sonja Flemming/CBS)
Be careful what you wish for because you could practically see the steam coming out of Olympia’s ears as she confronted Matty on the sidewalk.
That was one hell of a way to kick off the last episode before the Matlock Two-Part Season 1 Finale.

No one can say that Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh delivers the same movie time after time. In an eclectic three-decade career, he has directed crowd-pleasing all-star vehicles, action comedies, political dramas, micro-mini experimental works, true-life story ("Erin Brockovich") and even a film starring porn actress Sasha Grey ("The Girlfriend Experience").
In addition to his Oscar success, Soderbergh has also found success bringing his singular vision to the small screen, winning an Emmy for directing and editing the TV movie "Behind the Candelabra" (which isn't included on this list of big screen outings). He's also been nominated twice as a director on "The Knick," as a cinematographer on "Behind the Candelabra" and as a producer on "Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired," "His Way" and "Godless."

It's the beefiest, bulkiest Christmas we could ever hope for later this year when The Man With The Bag comes out, bringing us the dynamic duo we didn't know we needed in the shape of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Reacher star Alan Ritchson. Ritchson has done us all a festive solid by sneaking a look at the movie in amongst an Instagram photo dump of the last few months that shows Schwarzenegger in costume as jolly old Saint Nick, while Ritchson's also got a little bleach blonde highlight job going on there. Did the elves do that one for ya, big guy?
The story centers on Santa’s magical bag—yes, that bag, the one that makes Christmas happen—getting swiped. To retrieve it, Santa enlists the help of Vance (Ritchson), a reformed thief who's spent years on the naughty list. Honestly, Santa should start giving the rule-breakers more credit—they get results.

Since the Golden Age of Hollywood, the horror genre has given audiences an assortment of great scary movies, from Psycho and Dracula to Hellraiser and Halloween. Throughout that time, the genre has built up a number of iconic careers, with the likes of Robert Englund and Jamie Lee Curtis becoming household names in cinema. However, some of the best horror movies make great use of stars known for other genres, such as action, science fiction and comedy.
Scary movies have proven some of Hollywood's best stars every bit as versatile as their reputations suggest, turning action heroes into killers and child actors into horror icons. Seeing actors go against type often gives them some of their most memorable roles and best-remembered films, and some are great examples of this. Ranging from haunted house thrillers to slashers, these films proved their stars were more than their best-known roles.

George Clooney’s First Movie Was A Box Office Disaster: Here’s Why Hollywood Wants You To Forget It!

George Clooney First Movie(Photo Credit –Wikimedia)
Very few people remember George Clooney’s first movie, and honestly, that’s for the best. Before he became one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, he made his feature film debut in Return to Horror High (1987) – a movie that was, well, a total disaster.
“Return to Horror High is an early example of meta-horror, and it was completely ahead of its time,” Looper once noted. “That’s not to say the film is good.” And that about sums it up.
Clooney played Oliver, an actor in a low-budget slasher film being shot inside an actual murder site—a high school where grisly killings had taken place. The movie tried to be a mix of horror and comedy, but critics weren’t laughing. According to Rotten Tomatoes reviewer Dustin Putman, it had “only one scene that is actually scary, and it has to do...

When Christian Gudegast's Den of Thieves hit theaters in 2018, it was met with mixed reviews. While some viewers praised the film's gritty action and Heat-inspired heist sequences, others criticized the film for its bloated runtime, generic and predictable plot, and underdeveloped characters. The result? A lukewarm 41% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Fast-forward to exactly seven years later, and its sequel,Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, has debuted and also made its way onto streaming platforms. The sequel has managed to build upon the original, and, drawing on the positives of the first film, now boasts a more respectable 63% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Den of Thieves 2: Pantera sees Gerard Butler's case-hardened detective, "Big Nick" O'Brien, pursue mastermind Donnie Wilson (O'Shea Jackson Jr.) across Europe. Rather than sticking to the first film's formula, which stayed local and saw Nick on the correct side of the law, Den of Thieves 2 takes...

Steven Soderbergh has done everything, from heist flicks to artsy experiments and everything in between. With a decades-spanning career, this Oscar-winning director has made films that are as wildly diverse as they are memorable. Whether it’s the sleek charm of Ocean’s Eleven or the gritty realness of Traffic, Soderbergh has a knack for keeping us guessing. One minute, he’s giving us big-budget blockbusters; the next, he’s diving headfirst into indie territory with handheld cameras and tiny crews. Who does that? Steven Soderbergh, that’s who.
Ranking the movies of the Swiss Army knife of filmmakers feels almost unfair because each one carries its own unique vibe. From star-studded casts to experimental narratives, there’s always something surprising in his work. Love action-packed thrillers? He’s got you covered. Prefer something slow, cerebral, and artsy? After 1997’s “Good Will Hunting” won them the Oscar for original screenplay, Damon joined forces with the likes of Steven Spielberg (“Saving Private Ryan”), Anthony Minghella (“Talented Mr. Ripley”), Robert Redford (“The Legend of Bagger Vance”), Steven Soderbergh (“Ocean’s Eleven”) and more. Affleck, meanwhile, leaned into action blockbusters like “Armageddon” and big studio fare such as “Pearl Harbor,” “Daredevil” and more.
“I thought you were going to compare our acting careers, to which I would’ve said, well, Matt learned and knew earlier than I did to really key in on the director as the fundamental basis on which he’s going to make a decision whether to do a movie or not,...

Nevada's population is slightly more than 3.2 million, with about 2.3 million living in the Las Vegas metro area. Which means that in a 110,000-square mile state (the seventh largest by land area in the U.S), more than 70% of the population lives in approximately 1,600 square miles. Urban concentration isn't exactly unique to Las Vegas, Nevada, so you're probably wondering why we're bringing it up. It's because Vegas' cultural footprint is larger than the state where it resides: Nevada. Except for New York City, maybe no other American city completely overwhelms the cinematic representation of its state. When it comes to Nevada, that's a mistake.
After all, The Silver State on the silver screen is much more than Sin City. It's westerns, sci-fi, romantic comedies, and even a few Best Picture winners. While there is no shortage of all-time classics set in Sin City, we're only going to rank the best movies set in Nevada,...

Hollywood shows persistent interest in the world of high-stakes casinos, and this goes beyond the glamorization of gambling culture. Watching the house lose as a sweeping, calculating void is strangely satisfying. These narratives give the audience what they truly want: witnessing the underdogs succeed against impossible odds.
Movies where casinos lose are fascinating because a grandiose empire built on the certainty of mathematics is toppled. These films prove that even the most complex systems can sometimes succumb inexplicably to human determination and ingenuity.
The Mathematical Underdogs
Typically, casino films are either of two kinds: one showing customary desperate individuals making ridiculously bold decisions or another class depicting highly innovative people mastering astoundingly complex systems. The latter is displayed in “21” (2008), which follows the story of MIT students who learn to count cards and end up winning millions from Las Vegas casinos.

Four years after bringing the world the high speed comedy classic Smokey and the Bandit (and three years after their stuntman comedy Hooper and one year after Smokey and the Bandit II), director Hal Needham and star Burt Reynolds teamed up again for another high speed comedy, the goofball ensemble film The Cannonball Run. The film was a big hit, the sixth highest-grossing domestic film of 1981, and it was followed by a pair of less successful sequels, Cannonball Run II (1983) and Speed Zone (1989). Even though the follow-ups aren’t highly regarded, The Cannonball Run is still a well-known title, which is why we’ve been hearing rumblings of a remake for years. Now, industry scooper Jeff Sneider of The InSneider reports that Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan is likely to be the one to finally bring The Cannonball Run back to the screen, as his production company, Bosque Ranch, is developing...

Earlier this month, a new film debuted at SXSW alongside a host of new and impressive movies. This one stood out in a major way, however, as Lifehack, the cyber-heist thriller "told entirely through the digital lens of our hyper-connected world" emerged from the festival with a stunning 100% positive score on Rotten Tomatoes. Directed and penned by the Irish newcomer Ronan Corrigan, and produced by the master of "screenlife" movies Timur Bekmambetov, the reviews suggest that Lifehack might be the best film yet from the genre. In the wake of the film's success, Collider is thrilled to exclusively present a sneak peek at the film, in which our team of intrepid, young techno thiefs put their plan into motion with a snappy, propulsive dialogue about how to snare their target.
As for the plot of the film, well, it revolves around the group's ringleader Kyle (Georgie Farmer), coding guru Petey...

In some ways, “Secret Mall Apartment” does what it says on the tin. The documentary charts the adventures of an artist collective in Rhode Island that found a hidden space inside the bowels of the Providence Place Mall in 2003. There, the collective created a domestic hideaway in defiance of the consumer mecca that the mall represented, documented the project, and used the space undetected for years.
Director Jeremy Workman and editor Paul Murphy knew there was more nuance to the story than a clandestine performance piece, though. They didn’t want the documentary to feel like a conventional, fill-in-the-blank news item. So they didn’t work in a conventional way, either.
Workman, based in New York, and Murphy, hailing from Australia, divided up the material and worked siloed on specific sequences and with specific types of footage — Murphy with the astonishing Dv shot on an Optio stills camera from the...

Being partly responsible for turning George Clooney into a movie star, Steven Soderbergh knows a thing or two about spotting a hitmaker. Sure, Clooney had the looks, the charm, and a juicy part on the hit medical drama “E.R.” that gave him the opportunity to hone his craft, but in casting him to lead “Out of Sight,” and their most successful collaboration, “Ocean’s Eleven,” Soderbergh gave him a leg up few stars manage to receive today. Nowadays, it seems acting is a talent you have to be born with, and no one knows this better than recent Oscar-nominee Timothée Chalamet.
“It would appear Timothée Chalamet is a movie star,” said Soderbergh in a recent interview with Men’s Health. “Like, this guy can make movies hits, and they’re a wide range of movies. So, everybody’s chasing him. I don’t know him, but he seems to be making interesting choices.
