This show has it all! There are some great actors in it as well. This is probably one of my fav. TV shows because its very life like, unlike Disneys Lizzie Mcguire which I rate that show a 3 out of ten stars because the comedy in that is quite corny. Anyway back to In a Heartbeat has everything every tv show has and more. Fast pacing action, some thrills, tells life of a teanager and has some comic realief in it. It is a shame Disney canceled this show though, because this show is the best show ever made by Disney and the stupid other 'kid' shows don't come close to this masterpiece.
This is a great Disney show. Most of Disney's shows are pretty corny, but this one is an overall winner. The show is about a teenage EMT (not really, all of the "teenage" EMT members are over 18 in real life) who go around and save people. there is also some comic relief in this show, even though it is mostly a drama. Kids and adults might not like this show, but teenagers will. it is a very informative show about the teenage EMT program. I give it a 8/10 - a little un-realistic (the teenage EMT in the shoe does some things that REAL teenage EMT's are not allowed to do, like administer medications), but the show itself has great actors and entertaining stories.
This show has a good story line, but is a bit realistic in some aspects. For example, technically, an EMT-B, which Disney characterized these characters as being, cannot administer medication, defibrillation (clear...shocking!), or other items that they do on the show. Despite that, which really isn't important, this show is entertaining, funny, and even in its own way, informative. In my opinion, the general age group that will enjoy the program at its best is 12 to 17, but don't go by me, check it out for yourself anyway! Its a good show, with a good "helping people and promoting international goodwill" story line.
Why did you have to cancel such a great show?! All they show on Disney are the same thing. All of their shows relate to comedy and its all the same. In a Heartbeat had originality, but no Disney was probably too scared that a kid may see a little blood. This was one of my favorite shows and I can't suggest that you check it out because Disney stopped showing the reruns, which is a shame. Its a shame Disney is not ready to handle a drama series and until then you will get the same old children comedy.
Sometimes I love you Disney other times you just screw up.

How often do you come across a show aimed at teenagers that does not portray dumb kids doing stupid things in unrealistic situations?
What happened to shows that were "real", that people could actually relate to, that didn't have to be completely mindless to be successful?
"In a Heartbeat" was exactly what TV viewers needed. A very intelligent show, it followed the lives of EMT teenagers dealing with their daily lives in school, at home and at work. The characters easily hooked you on, and their adventures were interesting to watch. It was neither overly dramatic nor sugarcoated, and yet was still very enjoyable to watch. The acting was terrific and the storyline was simply remarkable. Most everyone who watched the show fell in love with it.
I have no idea what reason Disney could give on why they cancelled the show, and I'd love to see it start up again, but I know that it most likely won't happen. Instead, Disney should consider releasing the lone season of "In a Heartbeat" on VHS/DVD to make up for their big mistake.
A definite 10/10 stars show. Catch the reruns if you can.
