A cynical reader, such as me, could look at that title and think “oh, good, they’re finally ending this repetitive superhero waffling that never actually goes anywhere.” But that reader would be wrong.
This is not “last” in the sense of anything actually ending. This is a superhero “last,” meaning it’s about something in the past, and retelling a story already at least half-told multiple times before – but now telling it in greater detail. Even more so, what we have here pretends to be the actual issues of the 1986-era comic in which the original Black Hammer snuffed it, with covers that have fake high numbers and everything.
So The Last Days of Black Hammer is actually a prequel to nearly all of the Black Hammer stories we’ve already seen.
The whole premise of the entire vast Black Hammer-i-verse was that there was a big superhero fight (cough Crisis!

Former Hercules star Kevin Sorbo called Hollywood men “bumbling, useless idiots” with a poor understanding of masculinity.
In an essay written for Fox News, Sorbo takes aim at actors Timothee Chalamet and Billy Porter, saying they are contributing to a crisis in masculinity.
“Society today seriously misunderstands masculinity… On the one hand, we love to normalize androgynous, Billy Porter-type men who sport skirts and poofy dresses… GQ‘s 2019 best-dressed man, Timothée Chalamet, for example, often wears clothes that your grandfather wouldn’t have been caught dead dressed like Chalamet,” Sorbo stated.
He also lambasted male tropes, particularly criticizing sitcoms.
“To me, it goes back to even sitcoms. You look at sitcoms over the last 30 years, the guy, the husband’s always kind of fat and dumpy, the mom’s kind of hot. And then they got the teenage kids, and all they do is belittle a father. It’s this...

Wang Bing, an essential Chinese filmmaker and a regular presence in Doclisboa’s programme, returns to the festival with Man in Black, the opening film of the 21st edition, scheduled for 19 October, 9pm, at Cinema São Jorge. Leonor Teles’ first feature-length fiction film, Baan is the closing film of Doclisboa’ 23 – and will have its Portuguese premiere on 29 October 29, 9pm, at Culturgest.
In Man In Black, Wang Bing – author of works such as Fathers and Sons (Doclisboa 2014) and Dead Souls (Doclisboa 2018) – portrays the body and soul of Wang Xilin, a Chinese composer and dissident. Using excerpts from Xilin’s symphonies, the filmmaker registers the horrors recalled by the octogenarian composer, stories of dehumanization in a country and a regime in permanent upheaval. Wang Xilin will be in Lisbon for the opening session of the 21st edition of the festival.

Actor Kevin Sorbo has reportedly said that he lost his Hollywood career over his conservative and Christian views. The 64-year-old actor is famous for starring in the TV series ‘Hercules: The Legendary Journeys’ in the 1990s but felt that it was “sad” that work dried up in the mainstream entertainment sector over his opinions even though the industry claims to be inclusive, reports aceshowbiz.com.
“It was sad to me, you know, my manager and agent for so many years said that we can’t get you jobs anymore, work with you because of you being a Christian, being a conservative,” he told FoxNews Digital.
“And I almost had to laugh at that because it’s an industry that screams for tolerance, and yet it’s a one-way street. It screams for freedom of speech. But Hollywood’s a one-way street as well. And that’s just too bad, you know.

Actor Rosamund Pike successfully built up her career with films like Die Another Day and others. But there was one film she did during her rise to the stop that she could only describe as chaos.

Pike starred in the 2012 feature Wrath of the Titans. The film was a sequel to 2010’s Clash of the Titans, which starred Avatar actor Sam Worthington. Worthington would reprise his role for the second film and find himself working alongside Pike for the first time. The story was a big budget action fantasy thriller that Pike was glad to be a part of. But at times, she confided that the scale of the movie could be a bit overwhelming.

This article is spoiler-free for The Ark premiere.
Around the dawn of the new millennium, TV shows primarily set aboard spaceships were abundant if not universally watched. The era produced classics like Battlestar Galactica and the Stargate franchise, but it also found niche audiences for shows like Farscape and Andromeda. Even the most low-budget efforts have only become more revered with time, and audiences remember them fondly.
Thankfully, The Ark evokes that same sense of adventure, only with more modern sensibilities and special effects. That shouldn’t be too surprising given that the showrunners of the Syfy series are Dean Devlin, who co-wrote the original Stargate movie, and Jonathan Glassner, who co-created Stargate Sg-1, the successful televised spinoff that itself spawned several other series.

Mass Effect comes from the time when Bioware and Bethesda competed with sci-fi and fantasy RPGs. Bioware had Mass Effect and Dragon Age, while Bethesda rolled out Fallout and Elder Scrolls games. Mass Effect was the pinnacle of production, storytelling, and gameplay. The worst Mass Effect game is still incredible. Still, there are levels of greatness, with one of the titles being the unequivocal best game, not just in franchise history but among the entire video game universe. The Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic franchise is a legendary series that affected the course of gaming history and solidified their development studios as RPG juggernauts. Given the clout this franchise holds, one might expect greenlighting further entries would be an easy task. To quote Thanos, “Reality is often disappointing.”
The Kotor franchise currently consists of three titles: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords, and The Old Republic. But the third entry, despite existing within the same continuity, is not a sequel to the first two single-player RPGs. Instead, it’s an Mmorpg side story that takes place 300 years after the first two games.
A proper sequel to the first two games has existed in a state of development hell limbo for almost 20 years, pitched around and canceled at different studios, only to be revived again several years later and subsequently canned again.

As viewership of YouTube in the living room continues to grow, the company is getting into the ad-supported longform game, adding 4,000 library TV episodes and 1,500 movies.
The move will give the Google-owned video power more of a profile in the burgeoning AVOD marketplace. Fox, NBCUniversal, Paramount, Disney and WarnerMedia have all either acquired major AVOD services or launched their own, doing battle with Roku, Crackle and a number of others in the space. The focus has come as cord-cutting and smart-tv adoption both continue to shape the entertainment sector.
Advertising has long been the lifeblood of YouTube and its parent company, Alphabet, and the wind has recently been at the company’s back. In the fourth quarter, YouTube reported a 25% year-over-year increase in ad revenue, to $8.6 billion.

Androids such as Mother and Father in HBO Max’s Raised by Wolves are unique among their robot cousins depicted in science fiction television. Instead of being metallic, mechanical servants devoid of any life-like appearance, androids are by definition built to look just like humans, and as a result, they are often written to have some of the same emotional strengths and flaws. But while their function may be to assist the humans that created them, they often are either caretakers like Father or killers like Mother, at least as it applies to her necromancer origins.
Reconciling those two sides is never easy, and androids weren’t always so realistic in the different eras of television, often acting as Pinocchios who wanted to be “real.” There have been many android characters in film and TV, but below are a few exemplars of each type among the main cast of some...

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition will undoubtedly inherit the original franchise’s controversies (and start a few new ones of its own thanks to some fresh camera angles), but a series of changes recently revealed by BioWare suggest that the Legendary Edition may just become the best way to experience the divisive title that kicked this series off.
2007’s Mass Effect was touted as BioWare’s most ambitious game until that point, which was true in a lot of ways. Unfortunately, all that ambition resulted in a game that clearly wanted to be a more modernized version of BioWare’s best RPGs but often fell flat on its face as it baby stepped its way into a new era of game design. Like re-watching certain TV shows, the quality and design of the first Mass Effect created a division over whether you should endure that awkward first season.

The Game Awards 2020 concluded its cavalcade of celebrity cameos, The Last of Part 2 awards, and Fortnite cameo reveals with a teaser trailer for BioWare’s next entry into the Mass Effect franchise.
The trailer doesn’t offer many details (another trend of the evening), but it does feature some sweeping views of space coupled with grand ramblings that conclude with an Asari digging through the snow of an ice planet and uncovering a remnant of discarded N7 armor. The implication is that this is Shepard’s armor and that we’re viewing the aftermath of Mass Effect 3‘s stunning conclusion which seemingly unraveled the fabric of the Mass Effect universe.
The trailer concludes with the Mass Effect title card hovering above the text “will continue.” It’s designed to be a teaser for the next Mass Effect game, but at this point, it’s starting to feel like more of a threat.

“These are the stars of Andromeda!” Education, the fifth episode of Steve McQueen’s 2020 Small Axe anthology, co-written with Alastair Siddons, sets the tone in outer space. This is a film about strong, formidable performances by women, whose characters take on the systemic wrongs and grinding injustices imposed upon the children in their community.
Twelve-year-old Kingsley Smith (Kenyah Sandy) visits the planetarium with his class and knows then and there that he wants to become an astronaut. The 26th Sarajevo Film Festival has revealed a lineup of 49 films which will compete for the Heart of Sarajevo awards, whose main competition jury is being overseen by The Artist director Michel Hazanavicius. Scroll down for full lineup.
Set to take place from August 14-21, the Balkan event will be the biggest physical festival to take place in Europe since the coronavirus shut down most film and TV gatherings after Berlin in March.
Cinemas in Bosnia re-opened May 28 with numerous protocols including cleaning footwear before entering auditoria. International travel is permitted to the country, though in a limited form and providing travelers are tested for coronavirus. The event traditionally attracts tens of thousands of visitors and a couple of hundred films, but this year’s lineup is reduced and international attendance is likely to be significantly down.

Antonio Sabato Jr and Robert Rabiah.
Antonio Sabato Jr. was one of the few American actors who supported Donald Trump in the 2016 election and soon found he was virtually blacklisted in Hollywood.
His agents and manager deserted him and work dried up so after a 30-year-career he decided to move to Florida and get a job in construction.
Now he plans a comeback, producing, co-writing, directing and starring in Trail Blazers, a Western about a band of brothers who were once outlaws and decide to turn their back on their old ways to fulfill their father’s dying wish.
Safe Harbour and Secret City star Robert Rabiah, who has been a mate of Sabato since they worked in Crawford Productions’ Queensland-shot series Tribe in 1999, will play Gabriel, his younger brother.
The brothers take refuge near a small town in Utah and quickly lock horns with the local Sheriff and his deputies.
