With Earth Day coming up in a few days, Brian Eno has called on Mother Nature to give David Bowie’s 1995 deep cut “Get Real” a unique twist using environmental sounds. The remix has been released as part of a global music initiative called Sounds Right, which has made Nature an official artist on streaming platforms to raise money for earth conservation.
Thanks to Sounds Right, a share of royalties from any song that credits Nature as an artist will go to EarthPercent, a charity founded by Eno. The organization will then distribute that money to conservation and restoration projects in the world’s “most precious and precarious ecosystems” under the guidance of the Sounds Right Expert Advisory Panel, a group of world-leading biologists, environmental activists, Indigenous People’s representatives, and experts in conservation funding.

Actor Anne Hathaway broke into the Hollywood scene as a teenager. Her talents were spotted right away, and Hathaway soon became one of the biggest film stars of the early 2000s. While her initial roles were quite tame, Hathaway soon found herself in more risque scenarios as her career progressed.
On more than one occasion, Hathaway found herself in just her birthday suit on set. While the birthday suit look was called for in most of these situations, on one occasion, Hathaway stripped down in front of the entire film crew by accident. Here’s a look at one of Hathaway’s most embarrassing moments on set.

It may have been mere months since Taskmaster series 15 ended, but the brand-new series 16 feels like it’s arrived at just the right time, giving us a chance to escape endlessly depressing talk of the latest celebrity criminal revelations and our world leaders’ somewhat “lalala can’t hear you” approach to climate change.
There’s a lot to live up to after the excellent last series, but Taskmaster series 16 has a promising line-up that fits the show’s tried-and-tested dysfunctional family dynamic. The ‘mum and dad’ figures of Julian Clary and Sue Perkins are joined by three distinctive ‘kids’: the ditsy persona of Lucy Beaumont, the intelligent fun of Susan Wokoma… and Sam Campbell, who is completely bonkers.
Although he’s probably the least UK-famous of this batch of contestants right now, he’s got serious comedy chops, winning the top prize at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2022 and appearing in some great sitcoms.

As U.S. streamers like Netflix and Amazon Prime make greater inroads into the Canadian market, a stateside trend has shown up north of the border: Less local coin for feature documentaries as broadcasters chase docu-series.
The Documentary Organization of Canada, releasing its latest Get Real report on Sept. 12, said local TV networks are backing more documentary series that look very much like reality TV series. “Now, when we talk about documentary production in Canada, we are increasingly talking about series,” Doc’s executive director Sarah Spring said in a statement as the seventh Get Real report was released.
Canadian filmmakers have long burnished their image with award-winning theatrical documentaries like Daniel Roher’s Oscar-winning Navalny. But the Doc report argues that, going forward, Canadian broadcasters have less appetite for one-off feature documentaries with points-of-view and sophisticated storylines, as they increasingly push for glorified reality TV series via docu-series.

Sharpen your knives, “Dexter” fans. Showtime has ordered a limited series revival of the beloved serial killer drama with Michael C. Hall set to return.
The premium cabler has ordered 10 episodes, with production set to begin in 2021 for a fall debut. Former series showrunner Clyde Phillips is also set to return. Much like Dexter’s many victims, plot details for the series are being kept under wraps.
“’Dexter’ is such a special series, both for its millions of fans and for Showtime, as this breakthrough show helped put our network on the map many years ago,” said Gary Levine, co-president of entertainment for Showtime. “We would only revisit this unique character if we could find a creative take that was truly worthy of the brilliant, original series. The unit will be headed by Joel Chiodi, SVP, Strategic Development, who will oversee the content development and production. Chiodi, who was part of the team that rebooted Queer Eye, will report to Rob Eric, Scout’s Chief Creative Officer.
It comes after the production company won documentary orders including Equal, a four-part series chronicling the fight for LGBTQ rights pre-Stonewall, for HBO Max, and Get Real, a doc series about the history of reality television, for Quibi.
On the development slate are a music project from McQueen director Ian Bonhote, his producing partner Andee Ryder, Peter Ettedgui and the team at Misfits Entertainment, a “tongue in cheek” look at the candy industry, a deep-dive into the self-help world with investigative journalist Nile Cappello and a project from director Tommy Avallone (The Bill Murray Stories...

Scout Productions is extending its unscripted programming slate with the launch of a new documentary division.
Joel Chiodi, Scout Productions’ senior vice president of strategic development, will oversee day to day development and production of the division. He will report to Scout’s chief creative officer, Rob Eric.
Scout has already set two documentary projects under the new division. The first is “Equal” at HBO Max, a four-part docuseries chronicling the fight for LGBTQ rights pre-Stonewall. The other is “Get Real” at Quibi, a series that examines the 30-year history of reality television.
“Digging into the legacy and history of ‘Equal’ has inspired us to return to our roots,” said Scout co-founder Michael Williams. “Scout’s authentic, point-of-view storytelling is a perfect fit for the documentary space whether we are talking about the world of music or taking a closer look at the history of our collective obsession with reality TV.

Exclusive: The last 30 years of reality television is to be the subject of a documentary series for Quibi. How’s that for meta?
The short-form platform, launched by Jeffrey Katzenberg and Meg Whitman, is developing Get Real from Queer Eye producer Scout Productions and Brian Graden Media, the company behind YouTube’s Joseph Gordon-Levitt-fronted Create Together.
The doc series will highlight the good, the bad, the ugly, and the infamous across the 30-year history of reality television.
Get Real will explore the many ways reality television has impacted our real life, and vice versa, while hearing from culture critics, the producers, and the participants who brought it to the screen in the first place.
Graden knows a thing or two about reality television, having worked at MTV during the days of The Osbournes, Punk’d and Jersey Shore.

“Dexter” and “Nurse Jackie” producer Clyde Phillips has signed an overall deal with Showtime and CBS Television Studios.
As part of the deal, Phillips will develop projects for both entities that can air on platforms within or outside the ViacomCBS fold. The deal was jointly announced by Showtime president of entertainment Gary Levine and CBS Television Studios president David Stapf.
“Securing the talents of a gifted writer/producer/showrunner like Clyde is a huge bonus for the Studio,” said Stapf in a statement. “There are few creators out there that have successfully crossed so many genres, and we’re fortunate to have him join our team. I’m looking forward to discovering where his fertile imagination goes next.”

Clyde Phillips is getting back in business with Showtime. The former Dexter and Nurse Jackie showrunner has signed a joint overall deal with the premium cable network and CBS Television Studios. Under the pact, Phillips will develop projects for both entities that can air on platforms within or outside the ViacomCBS umbrella.
This marks the first joint overall deal for siblings Showtime and CBS TV Studios, both overseen by David Nevins, which have increased their creative collaborations over the past couple of years. The pact will also likely provide fuel for the never-ending speculation about a potential Dexter follow-up at Showtime.
“Clyde is a world-class showrunner and filmmaker who brings intelligence, depth, maturity and style to both drama and comedy series,” said Gary Levine, President of Entertainment, Showtime Networks. “Our many collaborations in the past have been deeply gratifying, and I am thrilled that we will be working together again.

Back in 1999, a young—and eager—Anne Hathaway landed her first gig on the short-lived drama series, Get Real. But rather than celebrate, she was subtly told to focus on her body. "At 16 years old, it was 'Congratulations, you have the part. I'm not saying you need to lose weight. I'm just saying don't gain weight,'" the Oscar winner recalled to Allure for their September issue. "Which, of course, means you need to lose weight." Now, two decades later, the 36-year-old is still thinking about her figure albeit in a more positive light. Take, for example, her experience on set of her latest...

Love, Simon isn't the first film to be made about Lgbtq teens. There's Beautiful Thing, But I'm a Cheerleader, Camp, Edge of Seventeen (not the Hailee Steinfeld one), Get Real... the list goes on and on. It certainly won't be the last film to be made about Lgbtq teens, either. But it is the first one produced and distributed in wide release by a major Hollywood studio. Because of that, yes, there is an air of polished mediocrity and safety to the whole enterprise. And yet, it's hard to deny the film's effectiveness.
I don't know if, when I was a teenager, I would have had the courage to buy a ticket to see Love, Simon by myself. I do know, however, that if I had, it would have made my teenage years that much better.

Though she kicked off her career on TV with short-lived comedy drama Get Real, Anne Hathaway doesn’t usually show up much on the small screen these days, and that’s usually for talk shows or voicing characters on animated series. Chemistry is a strange thing to nail in Hollywood. How do you put two people together and hope there will be sizzling romantic sparks? Now, there’s a wave of actors who are pulling double duty in the chemistry department. On-screen pairs like Godzilla‘s Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen and The Fault In Our Stars‘ Ansel Elgort and Shailene Woodley aren’t just selling the sex, but they’re selling the idea that they’re siblings in their other big onscreen roles.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen are about to fight Godzilla as man and wife on the big screen, but they’ll both be crossing over into the A-list when they play Marvel’s most famous super siblings, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, in next year’s Avengers sequel. Meanwhile, Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort might be due to make us cry our hearts out...

We open on Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) and Olivia (Kerry Washington) doing what they do best … bitterly arguing in between bouts of boinking. The sheets aren’t even dry following some hotel room romp and they’re already making with the bickering. The gist … she’s still upset he made Jake Command, and he’s all jealous about her making Jake her beard.
And it doesn’t help matters that everything out of Fitz’s mouth is some offensively derogatory term, as he calls Liv a “Hen” and “Prize” (not to mention “Sweetie,” “Honey,” “Doll,” “Tootsie,” and “Toots”). Hey, Liv, don’t be so upset! He also uses those terms of endearment with waitresses, lap dancers, and the Israeli Prime Minister.
They exit the room and promptly wipe their feet all over the doormat outside — the doormat being Jake (Scott Foley) who is stationed there waiting to escort Liv home in fake boyfriend mode.

Clearly, TNT loves Jon Tenney.
And the feeling is mutual, since the actor has worked for the cable network for the better part of the past decade. After his long run as FBI Special Agent Fritz Howard -- longtime friend and eventual husband of Kyra Sedgwick's Brenda Leigh Johnson on "The Closer," a role he's occasionally reprised on the spinoff "Major Crimes" -- Tenney launches a new TNT crime drama as "King & Maxwell" premieres Monday (June 10).
He and Rebecca Romijn play Sean King and Michelle Maxwell, former Secret Service agents now partnered as private detectives. The characters originated in best sellers by David Baldacci ("Absolute Power"), and they're odd-couple opposites: He's more refined while she's the street-wise one.
Michael O'Keefe ("Caddyshack") and Chris Butler co-star as FBI operatives in the show that includes Shane Brennan ("NCIS," "NCIS: Los Angeles") among its executive producers.

I'm excited about the premiere of Season 2 of Stevie TV tonight at 10 pm on VH1! This season, star Stevie Ryan will be impersonating such celebs as Kim Richards, Kristen Stewart, Brad Goreski, Zooey Deschanel, and Justin Bieber. In addition to the previews looking awesomely unhinged, many of the sketches will star bisexual comic Nicol Paone. Check out this one, about a twerking intervention (Paone plays the therapist).
I, too, wish I could back time's ass up!
The peeps over at Lez Get Real posted an article entitled "Arrested Development Fans Questioning de Rossi’s Face." Her face looks fine to me.
