    Seeing 'things'

Watchable family film from Full Moon youngsters label 'Pulsepounders'. This one has an irritating lead (Bryan Neal) as Andy, a teenager who is tasked by Aliens with helping them complete a mission to collect a 'crash-landed probe' before it self destructs. There is a bad guy (played by 'Saved By the Bell's' Mr Balding - Dennis Haskins) and a pair of X-ray glasses everybody wants (though the X-ray seems to be in-fa-red and not the seeing through clothes type that so many movies have covered). Rising star Eric Jungmann as Andy's friend Sam is not a great actor and Timothy Bottoms isn't in it much. The script is rubbish, example "I'm not just a loser, I'm a big suck loser". Director Jeff Burr made many Full Moon films and appears briefly in this one. Dedicated to deceased Kirk Edward Hansen.

With X-Ray Eyes I Can See A Bright Future

I saw an advanced screening of this straight to video family film, which I might add is fun. The story centers around a family moving to Washington from Chicago. The father (Timothy Bottoms)is a scientist who is working on a top-secret experiment. The son, Andy (Bryan Neal)is trying to settle in an awkward environment filled with bully teenagers and kids who are vanishing in thin air. One day the school takes a trip to a science lab to learn about some new technology. Andy and two friends wander off and discover a room with a pair of wild glasses lying about. Andy tries them on and soon discovers that he can see through clothes and walls. The security enters the room and catches the teens, but they are let go due to Andy's father working at the lab. An evil scientist, Boyd, puts the glasses into Andy's shoulder bag, so later on outside he can capture Andy and retrieve the goods. You see he is working for a group of Russian spies. Meanwhile Andy finds out that the glasses are in his bag and decides to have some fun with them. Boyd soon catches up to Andy and the chase is on. Andy and his friends get captured and brought to the leader of the group of spies. I won't give away the fun ending. All in all for a family film, the kids will enjoy it, those under 14. Timothy Bottoms is not in it much, it's a new-comer to the entertainment industry, by the name of Bryan Neal. Keep an eye on this kid, he's destined to go somewhere. The director Jeff Burr takes a break from his horror movie days (Stepfather 2) to bring some fresh fun to this film.
