Vince Vaughn's New Comedy Movie With 81% Rt Score Becomes Netflix Global Hit Just Days After Release

Vince Vaughn has been working in the industry for over three decades, but in the mid to late '90s, his career really took off. He made his feature film debut playing a supporting character in the underdog sports film Rudy. From there, he became better known in the comedy genre for his role in the 1996 movie Swingers. Vaughn then acted in a series of other comedies throughout the end of that decade and the early 2000s, including Zoolander, Old School, Starsky & Hutch, and more.
Since his debut, Vaughn's career has had some genre fluctuations over the years. While he still does comedy, the 2010s saw him act in more dramatic work, including Brawl in Cell Block 99 and Seberg. Last year, he swung back to comedy when he had another notable role as the lead in the Apple TV+ crime comedy series Bad Monkey, which was well-received and wound...

Alexander Skarsgard would like to play a "very polite" James Bond. The 48-year-old actor explained how he undertook national service in Sweden as a teenager because he liked the idea of being like the suave spy, and with no successor yet appointed to take over the role from Daniel Craig, he pitched the idea he could take the part - but with "no violence at all".He told The Times newspaper of his national service: "I did it because I was 19, I didn’t know what I wanted to do and I wanted to be James Bond for 18 months.”Asked about taking the character to the big screen, he added: “I could be a very polite, diplomatic Swedish James Bond, who negotiates. There’ll be no violence at all. It’ll just be boardroom meetings where people try to find consensus, everyone’s stressed out and desperately tries to avoid an argument or complications,...

The future of James Bond remains undecided, with the sale of the franchise by owners Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson to Amazon and producers scratching their heads as to how to reintroduce 007 following the character’s demise in Daniel Craig’s final outing in No Time to Die.
All stakeholders could do worse than consider Alexander Skarsgard’s offering of a Swedish James Bond, a superspy with all the requisite Bond trappings – tuxedo, licence to kill, way with the ladies – but with a particularly Scandinavian flair.
The subject came up in an interview with The Times of London in which the Big Little Lies actor explained he previously joined his country’s national service: “I did it because I was 19, I didn’t know what I wanted to do and I wanted to be James Bond for 18 months.”

Alexander SKARSGÅRD has always been drawn towards anarchy: disruptive characters who turn worlds upside down. Now, as he plays a rogue android in Murderbot, we meet him to discover what pushes his buttons
“Is there blood in my hair?”, asked Alexander Skarsgård’s Eric Northman, having just killed, dismembered and feasted upon some unlucky soul in HBO’s vampire saga True Blood. For many, the show was their first exposure to Skarsgård, who was starting as he meant to go on: anarchic, provocative, and unafraid to play characters with an unhealthy moral compass.
True Blood wasn’t *quite* the start. The son of Stellan Skarsgård, he acted in a few things as a child in Sweden before jacking it in, then appeared in 2001’s Zoolander, playing a model, Meekus, who gets blown up in a petrol station. A Delaware bankruptcy court judge today set a May 16 deadline for bidders interested in making a run at Village Roadshow, and a May 20 auction date if more than one party shows up.
The number to top is $416.5 million offered by Alcon Entertainment, which was approved by Judge Thomas Horan today as a so-called stalking horse bidder. Alcon topped an earlier $353 million stalking horse bid from Content Partners when the producer and financier of a string of big film titles filed for bankruptcy a month ago. The stalking horse sets a floor for others and, in this case increases “the likelihood that, given the circumstances, the best possible price for the Library Assets will be received,” the judge wrote in a filing approving the sale process.
The company must file notice within one day after the bid deadline on whether it will hold an auction or sell to Alcon. The judge...

Careful where you crack a joke—sometimes the joke cracks you back! This line has stuck in our heads ever since we saw Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., and Jack Black try to set the internet on fire with their viral spoof for Tropic Thunder. But when Stiller cracked wise about Downey Jr.’s darker past with addiction and jail time, things didn’t just get awkward; they got radioactive. We mean, what was he thinking?
Honestly, watching that sketch felt like eating cotton candy laced with gunpowder. It started all chuckles and slapstick until Stiller decided to drop the Vegas-hooker-cocaine line like it was some edgy inside joke. Spoiler alert: it backfired hard. Let’s unpack how an attempt at viral gold turned into a full-blown cringe-fest!

“Life’s not about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain,” says the proverb. David Duchovny, however, might argue that sometimes, when the storm’s too fierce, you pack your bags and head for safer ground. After all, when a company cheats you out of millions, it’s hard to keep dancing in that rain.
Have you ever wondered if Mulder and Scully could solve the mysteries of Hollywood’s tangled financial web? Well, Duchovny found himself right in the middle of the mess, claiming that 20th Century Fox was involved in a shady game of hiding the show’s syndication profits. Yet, The X-Files legacy is larger than any contract dispute. Now, with Ryan Coogler reportedly at the helm of a reboot, will Duchovny return to don Mulder’s hat once again, or will the past continue to shadow any possible reunion?...

"Severance" has made a habit of casting actors who made their names in the comedy world, which makes sense given that the popular Apple TV+ sci-fi series is in part a dark comedy itself -- especially in season 1. That blending of comedic chops with grounded drama and high-concept science fiction ideas is at the core of what makes the show so fascinating, and the comedy pedigree extends behind the camera too, with Ben Stiller serving as one of the series' key creatives from the jump.
Stiller has worked as a director for many years, so it wasn't too surprising to see him attached to the show back when it began. But viewers likely missed that the former "Zoolander" star also has an on-screen cameo in "Severance" season 1.
The scene in question occurs in season 1, episode 8, "What's for Dinner?", directed by Stiller. Helly R. (Britt Lower) finally completes her first Mdr file,...

Ben Stiller has an appreciation for the “pretty crazy” fanbase that follows every second of the Apple TV series “Severance” — and the show’s executive producer and frequent director is hoping that every single member will eventually love him.
During an interview on “Chicken Shop Date” released Friday, Stiller told host Amelia Dimoldenberg of the show’s fans, “I think I enjoy how deeply people get into the, you know, into the theorizing of what means what and how every little thing. I mean, it’s pretty crazy.”
“And I also like the people who will then say, like, I have no idea what the hell is going on and what are the goats, and, you know, just have an actual thing happen in the show, please,” he also said.
After Dimoldenberg described the response as “very diplomatic” Stiller conceded, “I am trying to make everybody love me.”

TV dramas like Black Mirror have gone mainstream, proving there's a wider audience for dystopian horror. Series creator Charlie Brooker said he's now jealous of Severance because he keeps hearing that it’s a "much better" show.
Charlie Brooker said he's not watching Severance; he's heard enough people asserting that's a better show. "There's certainly a show I haven't watched that's made me jealous. People keep telling me to watch Severance, and I haven't let myself do it because they also say to me, "Oh, you'll love it. It's a bit Black Mirror-y, but it's much better,'" he told THR. It's been 13 years since Brooker delved deep into dystopian horror; Black Mirror Season 1 instantly gained a cult following as an unapologetically dark TV show. Severance gained its fan base similarly, but quickly broke into the mainstream in Season 2.
Black Mirror and Severance have one more thing in common.

Did Alexander Skarsgård Find It Difficult To Bag Good Roles? ( Photo Credit – YouTube )
Alexander Skarsgård once revealed that he lost several roles due to his appearance. “I was on a stupid s*xy hunky hot list.” And according to the actor, it wasn’t exactly a career boost. While some actors thrived on their hunky status, Skarsgård believed it put him in a box – one he had to fight his way out of.
The Swedish actor, son of Stellan Skarsgård, spent over 20 years building a career beyond just looking good. His Hollywood debut came in Zoolander, but True Blood made him a star. As Eric Northman, the thousand-year-old vampire with undeniable swagger, he gained a massive fanbase and a reputation.
That reputation, however, came with a cost. In an interview with The Times, Skarsgård admitted, “Starting out in Sweden, there was stuff about being tall and blond. But most people here are tall and blond.

The video game adaptation genre is one Milla Jovovich is plenty familiar with, and one of her movies is now climbing the streaming charts. The Fifth Element is widely regarded as one of the best sci-fi action films ever made, due in no small part to the amazing performances from stars Bruce Willis and Milla Jovovich. Their on-screen chemistry was off the charts, and though Willis was already an established actor by 1997, the film helped make Jovovich a global superstar early on in her career. Now, the In the Lost Lands actress has revealed which specific scene it was in Luc Besson's movie that completely changed her life.
Speaking with GQ about her more than three-decade career, Jovovich fondly looked back on The Fifth Element to recall that it was the scene where her character of Leeloo is encased in glass and being hounded by government officials that sent her career on a trajectory she never could have imagined. The reason, she said, is because it really taught her about what it meant to truly be an actress.

Milla Jovovich explains why one Leeloo scene in The Fifth Element had a profound impact on her as a performer. Released in 1997 and directed by Luc Besson, the sci-fi adventure film stars Bruce Willis as Korben Dallas, a cab driver who becomes wrapped up in a quest to find a legendary cosmic weapon. The Fifth Element, which marks one of Jovovich's first major acting roles, features Jovovich's Leeloo in a prominent role as the titular element, and she comes to team up with Korben to defeat a great evil that threatens Earth.
In a recent interview with GQ in which she breaks down her most iconic characters, Jovovich looks back on The Fifth Element, singling out her first big scene as Leeloo as the one that she found particularly powerful. Start spreading the news – James Marsden wants to play Ol’ Blue Eyes himself, Frank Sinatra. So, would Marsden have the world of a string in the role or would he get under our skin?
Speaking with The Post, Marsden said the inspiration he gets from the ring-a-ding-ding era of singers has drawn him to such a project. “I’ve always loved emulating some of the old crooners, like Bobby Darin and Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. I always thought there were so many interesting stories of Frank Sinatra’s life that could be played. And for whatever reason, you’ve never really seen a movie about him.”
That’s not entirely accurate, as Frank Sinatra has been portrayed on screens both small and big a handful of times. First there was Philip Casnoff in 1992’s TV movie Sinatra (earning a Golden Globe nomination), which seems like a risky movie considering...

As a director, Ben Stiller is a wily one. After skimming the surface of Gen-x disillusionment with his debut feature "Reality Bites," the son of comedians Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara made his name helming silly-smart films whose zany exteriors belie their depth. Take his 1996 comedy "The Cable Guy." Though it initially proved to be something of a divisively dark curiosity (Roger Ebert actually listed it among his picks for the worst movies of its year), it's since undergone a reevaluation and is now regarded as being prescient in its satirization of the public's true crime obsession. Stiller's 2001 fashion industry burlesque "Zoolander" has likewise become a full-fledged cult classic, while his edgy takedown of Hollywood ego and excess, "Tropic Thunder," is just as audacious now as it was when it first arrived in 2008.
In contrast to their barbed social commentary, these films are pretty broad when it comes to their humor and characterization.

Raunchy rom-com There's Something About Mary is climbing the streaming chart, currently sitting at number six on Hulu. Starring Ben Stiller and Cameron Diaz, the comedy was directed by the Farrelly Brothers (Peter and Bobby), and became a massive smash hit when it premiered in July 1998. The film went on to earn nearly $370 million at the global box office against a $23 million production budget. It currently sits at a positive 84% critical and, surprisingly, only 61% audience on Rotten Tomatoes.
Following the success of Dumb and Dumber in 1994, and, to a lesser extent, Kingpin in 1996, the Farrelly Brothers went to work on There's Something About Mary, which starred Stiller as Ted, Diaz as Mary, and Matt Dillon as Healy. Years after a disastrous high school date with his crush Mary (you have to see it to believe it), Ted gets another chance years later when his best friend Dom (Chris Elliott) suggests he find her.

Someone needs to get Nathan Fillion a catwalk because there’s no chance a football field is long enough for the strut he’s rockin’ while showing off the best look yet at his Green Lantern character for James Gunn’s Superman movie. Despite not showing much in the way of advertising for DC Studios’s Superman, Fillion’s Guy Gardner managed to infiltrate the big game to mug for audiences. Few actors portray smugness like Nathan Fillion, precisely the type of energy Guy Gardner puts out in DC’s Green Lantern series.

The early 2000s were known for a number of outlandish comedy films. With creative minds like Judd Apatow and Adam McKay in the director and producer's seat and hilarious actors like Seth Rogen and Will Ferrell bringing their films to life, many of the films that emerged during this period shaped how modern audiences perceive comedy.
Today, the comedy genre can feel distant from this pivotal period, although more diverse voices are making a name for themselves in the comedic field. It's fun to revisit the past and remember the films that reflected a time that was truly like no other.

Ben Stiller just took a trip down memory lane, and he brought Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible madness with him. The comedy icon cracked a joke about Cruise’s death-defying stunt, and it had serious Tropic Thunder energy. Fans instantly remembered Stiller’s legendary MTV Movie Awards skit, where he played Cruise’s “stunt double” with zero actual skills.

Benedict Cumberbatch recently reflected on his most controversial movie role to date, and revealed he has apologized profusely to audiences and fans for what was described by many as a transphobic performance. As well as bringing Sherlock Holmes to the 21st Century in the aptly titled Sherlock, and playing another eponymous hero in the McU's Doctor Strange, Cumberbatch has occasionally made some questionable project choices. Easily the worst of them all was to take on a small "satirical" role in the panned 2016 sequel, Zoolander 2, which saw Ben Stiller return as Derek Zoolander and Owen Wilson reprise the role of Hansel. Cumberbatch played a non-binary model, named All, and audiences hated the character.
During a recent interview with Variety, Cumberbatch recounted the controversial role and revealed that he repeatedly apologizes to audiences and fans when it is brought up, saying he will never play another character like that again. "I...

Marvel Cinematic Universe star Benedict Cumberbatch has drawn some high acclaim for his performances, though there's one role he's taken on he's not quite so fond of these days. Looking back at his role in the 2016 film Zoolander 2, Cumberbatch now feels he "probably" wouldn't play a non-binary character after learning that his performance had been offensive to some viewers.
Cumberbatch, who is expected to appear in at least one of the upcoming Avengers films as Doctor Strange, spoke about his Zoolander 2 role in a new interview for Variety's "Know Their Lives" video series. He confirmed that he's had to apologize many times for taking on the role, having siince become more aware of how upsetting it could be to some people watching. Benedict Cumberbatch recently participated in Variety’s “Know Their Lives” video series and shared some regret over his controversial role in Ben Stiller’s “Zoolander 2.” The “Doctor Strange” actor played a non-binary fashion model named All in the comedy sequel, which was an infamous box office flop in 2016 with just $28 million at the domestic box office.
“I’ve had to apologize for that quite a lot. It’s a difficult one to talk about,” Cumberbatch said about playing a non-binary role. “I love that group of people and it was the chance to sort of be part of something that the first time around was iconic and I was a huge fan of. Combining a VH1 Fashion Awards character with the plot of a paranoia-inducing 1960s political thriller may not seem like the most obvious idea for a mainstream movie comedy. But Ben Stiller’s Zoolander did exactly that, resulting in a film that is broad and silly, but also occasionally quite grim.
And there’s perhaps no more morbid scene in the entire movie than when Derek and his male model pals stop for gas. The beautiful dummies begin playfully fighting with squeegee water, before transitioning to spraying each other with gasoline in slow motion. And it all seems like good fun thanks to “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” by Wham!
But then tragedy strikes when one of the models lights up a cigarette and the whole car explodes in yet another “freak gasoline fight accident.”

Ben Stiller's return to acting after his seven-year break was exciting, but his work behind the scenes on a sci-fi TV show with 96% on Rotten Tomatoes - Severance - is arguably even more thrilling. When it was revealed that Stiller would be developing a TV show for AppleTV+, many assumed it would be as one of the leads in Severance's cast of characters. This would have marked a return to lead acting for Stiller for the first time in many years, but Severance season 1 saw Stiller absent from the cameras and spotlights.

When curious viewers hit play on the first episode of Severance back in 2022, they could be forgiven for being a bit surprised by the director credit. “I remember opening up the L.A. Times, and there was this writer who wrote a letter: ‘Dear God, stop putting Ben Stiller in comedies,'” he recounted. “I was just like, I don’t know, I’m here, I love doing what I do.”
