Thunderbolts* Holds On To No. 1 Spot As Sinners Passes $200M At Domestic Box Office
Image
Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts* held on to the No. 1 spot at the domestic box office, taking in $33.1 million in its second weekend of release.

This marks a 55% drop from its debut, which is a better hold than other recent MCU movies Captain America: Brave New World (down 68%), Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (down 70%), The Marvels (down 78%) and Thor: Love and Thunder (down 67%).

"The New Avengers" now sits at $128.5 million in North America and $272 million globally. The movie had a reported production budget of $180 million before marketing costs, and will need to clear $400 million worldwide to turn a profit.

Black Panther director Ryan Coogler's Sinners also continues to perform very well, and has now passed the $200 million milestone at the U.S. box office, becoming just the sixth horror movie to do so in history after The Exorcist, Jaws, The Sixth Sense, It, and It Chapter 2.

Image
Who controlled the Elder Wand? ( Photo Credit – Facebook )

In the wizarding world, no object is surrounded by as much awe, bloodshed, and mythology as the Elder Wand. Crafted from elder wood with a core of Thestral tail hair, the wand is one of the three Deathly Hallows and is said to be unbeatable in combat. But unlike ordinary magical tools, the Elder Wand does not simply pass from one wizard to another—it must be won. Its allegiance lies not in ownership by possession but by conquest.

Over the centuries, the Elder Wand passed through many hands, often leaving a trail of betrayal, duels, and murder in its wake. Some wielded it in secret, others in arrogance. A few barely understood its true power. But each owner, no matter how brief or fated, became part of the wand’s volatile legacy.

Remain: Nicholas Sparks, M. Night Shyamalan supernatural romantic thriller gets a Halloween 2026 release
Haley Joel Osment in The Sixth Sense (1999)
A few months ago, it was announced that The Sixth Sense director M. Night Shyamalan and The Notebook author Nicholas Sparks were teaming up for a supernatural romantic thriller called Remain. Shyamalan and Sparks created the original story together, with Shyamalan going off to write a screenplay based on the story while Sparks turned the idea into a novel. As was said at the time, “Both will be based on the same concept and set of characters but designed for their individual mediums.” The Sparks novel is scheduled to reach store shelves this year, on October 7th, and Amazon is already accepting pre-orders for the 352 page book at This Link. Now, Deadline has revealed that the Shyamalan film will reach theatres one year later, just in time for Halloween, as Warner Bros. Pictures has given it an October 23, 2026 release date.

M. Night Shyamalan Thriller 'Remain' With Jake Gyllenhaal Sets 2026 Release Date
Image
The next film from M. Night Shyamalan is bound to be another exciting entry in the acclaimed director's filmography. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Remain will be a psychological thriller based on an upcoming Nicholas Sparks novel, which Shyamalan also worked on. The director's next project after Trap won't be following another serial killer (that we know of), but expect the same signature twists from a Shyamalan film.

Warner Bros. has set an Oct. 23, 2026, release date for Remain, directed by Shyamalan and starring Gyllenhaal alongside Phoebe Dynevor (Fair Play) and Ashley Walters (Adolescence). It will compete against Jordan Peele's next film, which is set up at Universal Pictures. Shyamalan's return to WB was previously assumed due to his first-look deal with the studio. Remain will hit theaters next year after Trapmade over $86 million at the box office for WB on a $30 million production budget in 2024. With a release date confirmed, expect...

Why Marissa Cooper Actor Mischa Barton Left ‘The O.C.’ After Three Seasons: Explained
Image
Mischa Barton had that early-2000s glow—fresh, trendy, and suddenly everywhere. We first saw her as the spooky little girl in The Sixth Sense, but it was The O.C. that truly made her a star. As Marissa Cooper, she became the teen drama royalty. She had the perfect look, amazing style, and unforgettable moments on the show.

But not everything was as shiny as it seemed. By 2006, just three seasons into the hit show, Barton made a surprising exit. It felt sudden, like the story stopped mid-sentence. Fans were left wondering why. Behind the glam and red carpets, she was under real pressure. Her quiet departure hinted that life behind the camera was a lot more complicated than anyone knew. Fame looked fun, but for Barton, it came with a storm she hadn’t signed up for.

You Season 5 Almost Rehashed M. Night Shyamalan's Most Iconic Horror Movie Twist for Series Finale
Image
Spoilers ahead for Season 5 of You.

The season finale of Netflix’s You saw the end of Joe Goldberg’s story, and while many critics say it concluded the story perfectly in a well-rounded manner, the showrunners had some other ideas about the finale. One idea was so out there that it would take the series well out of the thriller genre and plant it right into the realm of the supernatural.

Season 5 of You saw Penn Badgley’s Joe face the consequences of his actions, with the killer ending up behind bars. And whilst the producers were always going to “put him in a veritable cage,” the nature of that imprisonment was still in play for a while until they settled on a definitive ending.

Showrunners Michael Foley and Justin Lo spoke to The New York Post about one of the series' alternative endings. The series ends with Joe...

The Scariest Movie You’ve Never Heard of is Now Free to Watch And It’s Hyper Bizarre
Image
I love bad movies. I don’t think they’re bad—they are very beautiful to me—but I am aware that many of my favorites were absolute flops with both critics and general audiences. I’m convinced I’m one of three people who earnestly enjoyed The Turning. There’s something profound about so-called bad cinema, especially bad cinema made with earnest intentions. A bad thing made with love will always resonate more with me than an okay or even good thing made to simply sell tickets.

Often, those bad movies have a smattering of fans, though little revisionism. I’m not going to sit here and sing the high praises of the Amanda Seyfried vehicle Gone, even if I do think it boasts one of the most chilling final acts of the century. So, it’s always fascinating to me when a certified dumpster fire is contended to...

The Underrated Ben Stiller Sci-Fi Flop That Should Have Spawned A Franchise
Image
After more than 25 years, it truly feels like one of Ben Stiller's best films, "Mystery Men," could have been the band of underdogs that surpassed even the likes of "The Suicide Squad" or "Guardians of the Galaxy." Riffing on comic book superheroes before "Deadpool" made it cool, "Mystery Men" is adapted from a team of misfit heroes that debuted in "Flaming Carrot" #16 and showcases an array of comedic talent. These low-level and incredibly odd crimefighters consist of Mr. Furious (Ben Stiller), The Shoveller (William H. Macy), fork-throwing Blue Raja (Hank Azaria), the superhuman fart factory The Spleen (Paul Reubens), Invisible Boy, who can only disappear when no one is looking (Kel Mitchell), and The Bowler (Janeane Garofalo), whose weapon of choice is a bowling ball containing the skull of her late father.

Fighting the good fight for laughs, the film received a mixed reception both critically and financially, having...

‘The Crown’ Actress Olivia Williams Opens Up About Why She’ll Never Be Cancer-Free
Image
Olivia Williams is opening up about her cancer journey and that she’ll never be cancer-free because of a delayed diagnosis.

The actress, who has starred in The Crown, The Sixth Sense, Dune: Prophecy and The Ghost Writer, among dozens of other projects, got candid in a recent interview with The Times.

Williams recalled visiting 10 doctors over four years, trying to figure out what was causing her symptoms, including aching limbs, fatigue and chronic diarrhea. After she was initially misdiagnosed with lupus and perimenopause, a doctor finally found a rare cancerous tumor in her pancreas.

“If someone had fucking well diagnosed me in the four years I’d been saying I was ill, when they told me I was menopausal or had irritable bowel syndrome or [was] crazy — I used that word advisedly because one doctor referred me for a psychiatric assessment — then one operation possibly could have cleared the whole...

Olivia Williams Details Harrowing Pancreatic Cancer Journey Where She Was Called “Crazy” Amid Misdiagnoses
Image
Olivia Williams opened up about her harrowing journey with pancreatic cancer, revealing she experienced years of misdiagnoses and dismissals by doctors. The professionally trained British actress is now supporting the upcoming Tcs London Marathon‘s charity of the year, Pancreatic Cancer UK, calling for a cheap test that would lead to earlier detection of the disease.

Speaking to The Times U.K. in a new interview, The Crown star discussed her experience with VIPoma (vasoactive intestinal peptide-secreting tumor), a rare neuroendocrine tumor of the pancreas that is detected in 1 out of 1 million people yearly. Notoriously difficult to diagnose early, pancreatic cancer is among the deadliest of the common cancers.

Williams said she first experienced symptoms a decade ago, eventually embarking on a four-year journey where she visited 10 doctors in three countries to get to the root of her illness. She recalled being misdiagnosed with lupus, perimenopause and other forms of cancer.

Haley Joel Osment, known for his role in The Sixth Sense, has publicly apologized after being arrested on April 8 in Mammoth Lakes, California, for alleged public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance.

During the arrest, bodycam footage captured Osment using an antisemitic slur directed at the arresting officer. The Mono County District Attorney’s office has charged Osment with possession of cocaine and disorderly conduct. His arraignment is scheduled for June 7.

Haley Joel Osment Was (Allegedly) So Drunk He Got Arrested at a Ski Resort at 2 pm

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Ski resorts are like country club golf courses and exclusive airport lounges, in that it’s generally pretty safe for well-heeled folks to get completely hammered there at any hour of the day.

So when Haley Joel Osment got arrested at the Mammoth Mountain Ski Area in eastern California earlier this month, it’s safe to assume that there had been quite a spectacle.

Now, Haley — who was reportedly cuffed and taken into custody on April 8 — has not been convicted of anything, and details of his arrest are scarce at the moment.

Image
Directors are the unsung maestros of moviemaking—the ones pulling the strings while the stars soak up the spotlight. Sure, actors get the glory, but it’s the person behind the lens who orchestrates every frame, decides every shot, and shapes whether a movie becomes a masterpiece or a mess.

But every now and then, the minds behind the magic step out from behind the camera and into the spotlight. Sometimes it’s a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo, other times they go full Clint Eastwood and headline their own films. In this list, we are diving into 15 directors who not only brought their vision to life but even sneaked in a little screen time of their own,...

Why ‘SNL’s Dirtiest Digital Short Was Allowed to Air Uncensored
Image
While many of Saturday Night Live’s Digital Shorts involved innocent boat trips and The Chronicles of Narnia, some were quite risqué, such as “Dick in a Box,” the recent “Sushi Glory Hole,” and the one in which Tom Hanks begged people not to mutilate his testicles through song.

But the filthiest Digital Short of all time may have been 2008’s “Jizz in My Pants,” the music video starring The Lonely Island’s Andy Samberg and Jorma Taccone as two suave guys who can’t help but prematurely ejaculate — whether it’s because they’re making out with a hot stranger at a club, or simply finding out that Bruce Willis was a ghost at the end of The Sixth Sense.

If you’re surprised that this bodily fluid-filled sketch made it to the air, well, so are the guys who made it.

Bruce Willis is a good guy. He is a good fucking guy. He was a good friend."

How Agatha Christie Inspired One Of M. Night Shyamalan's Strangest Thrillers
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

M. Night Shyamalan doesn't always make great movies, but let it never be said that he makes boring movies. From the stone-cold classic that is "The Sixth Sense" to the wackadoo nature of "The Happening," the man certainly knows how to keep things interesting. Of all Shyamalan's output in recent years, "Old" stands out as perhaps his biggest swing. It's also, at least in part, inspired by the works of Agatha Christie.

While Christie and Shyamalan don't seem like a natural pairing, the director was inspired by her while making "Old." For those who may need a refresher, the film centers on a family taking a tropical holiday. They discover a secluded beach where they decide to relax in peace for a few hours. However, they soon discover the beach is making them age rapidly, distilling their entire lives into a single day.

Bruce Willis Gave 'Die Hard' Costar Samuel L Jackson the Best Advice of His Career
Image
It's safe to say that Hollywood star Samuel L. Jackson has more than a handful of memorable roles. From playing a very unlucky member of Hammond's crew in Jurassic Park to giving life to the Bible verse-spewing villain Jules Winnfield in Pulp Fiction. His career speaks for itself, but that doesn't mean he hasn't had a fair share of less successful roles. Nevertheless, the MCU star revealed that a long time ago, he got a key piece of advice from his colleagueBruce Willis that prepared him for whenever his movies were bad, and he lacked money to pay the bills.

Willis turned 70 a few days ago, and his friends and colleagues celebrated his birthday. Jackson, his co-star in movies like Unbreakable, and Bonnie Bedelia, his romantic counterpart in the first two Die Hard movies, took to Vanity Fair to honor the action star. Jackson and Willis appeared together in four...

M. Night Shyamalan's 'Trap' Is the Best Thriller of 2024
Image
Trap was one of my favorite movies of last year. Every moment of the film was riveting, watching as a serial killer and his daughter tried to escape a sting operation. Unfortunately, not everyone agreed, with some people finding it too off-putting and the Academy members not having any room in their hearts to nominate it for their precious Oscars.

M. Night Shyamalan, director of Trap, was shut out of Hollywood for a while. He had to fund Split himself after backlash from an admittedly disappointing streak of films, which included The Last Airbender. However, Trap is one of his best, and I think it's time to admit that.

'Trap' Is the Greatest Thriller of 2024

There were certainly some exciting thrillers in 2024. It was interesting watching Naomi Ackie escape rich male abusers in Blink Twice, or Taron Egerton channel John McClane in Carry-On. That being said, I easily...

Toni Collette movies: 14 greatest films ranked worst to best
Image
Toni Collette is an Oscar-nominated actress who has become a favorite of both the art house and mainstream crowd, ably hopping back-and-forth between small scale indie fare and big budget crowdpleasers. Let's take a look back at 14 of her greatest films, ranked worst to best.

Born in 1972 in Sydney, Australia, Collette came to the attentions of American audiences with a star-making turn in "Muriel's Wedding" (1995), which brought her a Golden Globe nomination as Best Comedy/Musical Actress. She reaped her first Oscar bid in Best Supporting Actress just four years later for "The Sixth Sense" (1999), a supernatural horror flick that scared up massive box office receipts and critical acclaim.

In addition to her Oscar success, Collette earned Golden Globe and BAFTA nominations for "Little Miss Sunshine" (2006), for which she won the SAG Awards prize for top ensemble. She contended once more at BAFTA for "About a Boy" (2002) and again with...

Universal Music Says Drake “Lost a Rap Battle” and It Shouldn’t Be Held Liable for Hyperbole
Image
In “Family Matters,” Drake’s penultimate diss track in his feud with Kendrick Lamar, the Toronto rapper says that his West Coast adversary abuses his wife and isn’t the father to his son. “When you put your hands on your girl, Is it self-defense ‘cause she bigger than you?” Drake sings. “They hired a crisis management team. To clean up the fact that you beat on your queen.”

Universal Music Group, in a bid on Monday to dismiss a defamation lawsuit filed by Drake, points to that accusation in arguments that diss tracks regularly advance personal, vitriolic assertions that listeners don’t take seriously. Context matters, Umg says, claiming that “Not Like Us” conveys opinion through exaggeration in a way that can’t be understood as defamatory.

Drake “lost a rap battle that he provoked and in which he willingly participated,” states Umg in the filing. “Instead of accepting...

Joe Russo Says Harvey Weinstein’s Campaign Playbook “Vilified Mainstream Movies To Champion The Art Films” He Pushed For Academy Recognition
Image
Joe Russo, one-half of the sibling powerhouse producing/directing team known as the Russo Brothers, posited that today’s blockbuster versus indie discourse is in large part to Harvey Weinstein’s Oscars campaign playbook.

In a new interview with the U.K.’s The Sunday Times, Russo lamented that popular films’ success at the box office and disproportional losses at the Academy Awards is due to a trend started by the disgraced mogul.

“This trend was started by Harvey Weinstein,” he said. “He vilified mainstream movies to champion the art films he pushed for Oscar campaigns. Popular films were winning Oscars before the mid-Nineties, then Weinstein started mudslinging campaigns … It affected how audiences view the Oscars, because they’ve not seen most of the movies. We’re in a complicated place. Things we should all enjoying collectively we instead punch each other in the face over.”

The Avengers: Endgame co-director added,...

'Voices Carry' Review: Don't Set Foot on the Lake
Image
Buried somewhere within the 90 stolid minutes of Abby Brenker and Ellyn Vander Wyden’s Voices Carry, there’s a decent Twilight Zone episode. Not from Rod Serling’s iconic original, mind you, but one of the long-forgotten reboots hosted by Forest Whittaker or Burgess Meredith. Voices Carry, which premiered at Cinequest 2025, takes a germ of an idea about generational trauma and then steadfastly refuses to develop it, preferring an M. Night Shyamalan-style approach that turns the screws so lightly and with so little technique that the ending — which felt like it was conceived first and everything else was written to get us there — generates neither sympathy nor catharsis.

Such a slow-moving and uninvolving story needs a star-making lead performance to keep us in the game. But top-billed Gia Crovatin, while holding the film together nicely as a suburban woman who uncovers centuries-old secrets while staying in her family’s lakeside cottage,...

10 Iconic Mind-Boggling Shows You Have to Watch Twice

It seems there are few things in the wheelhouse of storytelling and visual entertainment that are as ensnaring and alluring as a great mind-bender. Many feature films have proven exactly this, with the likes of The Sixth Sense and Fight Clubbecoming renowned for their twisty tales that necessitate repeat viewings to be grasped in their entirety. While it is somewhat rare to see such a story transpire on the small screen, television entertainment is far from bereft of great head-scratching stories.

M. Night Shyamalan's New Romantic Thriller Recasts Main Role After Alicia Vikander's Exit
Image
A surprising collaboration between Nicholas Sparks and M. Night Shyamalan has taken a new twist. Two weeks ago, we learned that Alicia Vikander would join Jake Gyllenhaal in the film, but she has now exited the project. According to Deadline, Bridgerton's Phoebe Dynevor is now in negotiations to replace Vikander. Described as a "supernatural romantic thriller," the project will be adapted into a film helmed by Shyamalan and a novel written by Sparks.

Vikander is an Academy Award-winning actress who rose to prominence with roles in 2012's Anna Karenina and A Royal Affair. She went on to appear in movies including Ex Machina and The Danish Girl, with the latter earning her an Oscar in the Best Supporting Actress category. Dynevor, meanwhile, is one of Hollywood's rising stars, best known for her portrayal of Daphne Bridgerton in Netflix's hit Bridgerton, which gained her international recognition. Bridgerton Star Joins Jake Gyllenhaal in M. Night Shyamalan's Next Film

A new film from director M. Night Shyamalan and romance novelist Nicholas Sparks recently cast Jake Gyllenhaal to star, and it has been revealed who will co-star with him in the yet-untitled film. One Of Josh Hartnett's Best & Creepiest Movies Is Dominating Netlfix's Top Charts
Image
To call M. Night Shyamalan's filmography a "mixed bag" is an understatement — for every "The Sixth Sense," you get "The Happening" — but I'm beyond pleased to say that the Philadelphia-loving writer, director, and producer really knocked it out of the park with his 2024 film "Trap." Apparently, people on Netflix are noticing, because according to FlixPatrol, it's crushing it on the streamer.

If you're unfamiliar with "Trap," first of all, I'm so sorry. Second of all, you should go and watch "Trap," because it rules ... and again, it's easy to do if you have a Netflix subscription. As Shyamalan himself described it, "Trap" is what you would get if you mixed Jonathan Demme's Oscar-winning crime drama "Silence of the Lambs" with Taylor Swift's billion-dollar grossing, culture-commanding Eras Tour, and the result is incredible; as if that wasn't a good enough elevator pitch, the movie is also based on a real sting operation,...

Quick LinksKnock at the Cabin Focuses on SacrificeKnock at the Cabin Has Plenty of SymbolismWhat Knock at the Cabin's Ending Truly MeansKnock at the Cabin Addresses Recurring Themes from Shyamalan's CareerKnock at the Cabin's Twist Differs from Other Shyamalan Movies

M. Night Shyamalan's Trap was released in August 2024, earning mediocre reviews from critics. However, more than two years after the release ofKnock at the Cabin, the film is still igniting heated debates. There's no doubt about Shyamalan's fascinating legacy as a director. He directed The Sixth Sense, which is beloved by many fans of the horror and thriller genres. Shyamalan is also known for The Last Airbender and After Earth, both of which were widely despised by critics and audiences alike. Needless to say, Shyamalan is the epitome of the phrase "hit or miss." He also has a habit of inserting twists into his films, some of which work while others don't.

Image
Trap, the controversial 2024 thrillerstarring Josh Hartnett, has just arrived on a new streaming platform. The film was surprisingly added to Netflix's catalog, and subscribers can already stream one of the most divisive thrillers of last year and M. At the time of writing, Trap sits on the second spot in Netflix's top 10 list of most popular films. Other titles currently on the list include two Friday films, Denis Villeneuve's Sicario, Despicable Me 4, and Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

Christopher Nolan’s obsession with the perception of time has always helped create fantastical, character-driven modern-day epics that feel like rewatchable instant classics. But while all of his films garner a certain degree of respect from the fans, The Prestige, starring Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale, often gets left behind in collective memory.

The 2006 film, adapted from the 1995 novel of the same name, was one of Nolan’s first films that set him apart from the rest of Hollywood filmmakers.
