Actress Dakota Johnson is not making headlines this time around for her role in a romantic drama or a gripping thriller. Instead, it is due to her disappointment with the cast of the recently released superhero film, Madame Web. The actress, 34, participated in extensive driving stunt training for Sony’s film, but she was not permitted to do any “crazy things” while working on the film.
During her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Johnson was asked if she was excited to be doing her own stunts in Madame Web, helmed by the British director S. J. Clarkson. The film is based on the same-named character from Marvel Comics. Johnson plays Cassandra Webb, better known as Madame Webb, a clairvoyant with the ability to foresee future occurrences in the ‘spider world’.

Much like Drew Barrymore, Kate Hudson, and Jane Fonda before her, Dakota Johnson comes from an impressive (and talented) Hollywood lineage. Her grandparents are Tippi Hedren, Hitchcock muse and star of The Birds, and Peter Griffith, a Broadway actor. Her parents, of course, are actors Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, and her former stepfather is Antonio Banderas. Dakota made her big-screen debut alongside her mother in 1999's Crazy in Alabama, but her big break came when she was cast as Anastasia "Ana" Steele in the movie adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey (she's currently filming the second film adaptation of the series with Jamie Dornan). She's also starred in Black Mass and the romantic comedy How to Be Single with Leslie Mann and Rebel Wilson. Aside from showing off her acting chops, Dakota has also blossomed into a breakout style star and made us laugh with her off-the-cuff remarks and...

Dakota Johnson comes from a rich background of actors and actresses and is now starting to truly flourish as one herself. Born on October 4th 1989, the 25-year-old star of Fifty Shades of Grey is the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, while her stepfather’s from her mother’s later relationships include Steven Bauer and Antonio Banderas.
Having started her acting career in 1999’s Crazy In Alabama, Johnson has gone on to appear in a number of big movies, such as The Social Network, 21 Jump Street and Need For Speed, but had gone largely under the radar prior to her (somewhat surprising) casting as Anastasia Steele in this year’s adaptation of E. Antonio Banderas has been tearing it up in front of the camera lately. This year alone he's poised to hit theaters in five films, including Pedro Almodovàr's high-flying musical comedy I'm So Excited, Terrence Malick's mysterious Knight of Cups, and the recently wrapped Robert Rodriguez action flick Machete Kills. Perhaps needing a break from performing, or maybe inspired by all the big name filmmakers he's been working with over the past year, Banderas is looking to move behind the camera. And he's taking his long-time wife Melanie Griffith along for the ride. Variety reports Banderas is prepping for production on Akil, a love story he's written, and will direct and produce. This will mark his third directorial effort, following the 1999 dramedy Crazy in Alabama and the 2006 Spanish-language romantic drama Summer Rain. And as she did in the former, Griffith will front her husband's film. Named for its title character,...

Antonio Banderas has confirmed he will be returning to the director’s chair for his upcoming psychological thriller Solo. The project is based on an original screenplay written by Erik Jendersen.
The sci-fi thriller centers on a Spanish colonel (played by Banderas) who suffers from post-conflict trauma. Erik Jendersen’s top writing credit to date is the excellent Band of Brothers, which further implies this could have several combat sequences.
This film will make Antonio’s third time directing, the first being 1999’s Crazy in Alabama and the second 2006’s Summer Rain but neither were anything more then average. Maybe a project with a bit more to say for itself will do Banderas’ dwindling career the world good in a similar vein to Ben Affleck.
The film will be produced by Antonio Banderas’ company Green Moon Label and will use an almost exclusively Spanish cast although the movie will be shot in English.

There isn't any further details on the project and I've never seen Antonio Banderas other directed films. Does Banderas' "Solo" film project sound interesting to you?Source: Variety...

Antonio Banderas can do many things. Besides his acting and powers of seduction, Banderas also directs. You're probably not surprised. Especially if you've ever seen Crazy In Alabama with his wife Melanie Griffith in the lead. That kid from Sling Blade is in it, as well as Meatloaf. The movie wasn't terrible, it just wasn't memorable. Not that a movie has to be, but it's just one of those that you'd forget unless you were writing an article about its director. He also did a...

Written by Erik Jendresen ("The Big Bang," "Band Of Brothers") the film will focus on "a Spanish colonel (Banderas) suffering post-conflict trauma." No word yet on where the "sci-fi" comes into play, but Banderas says the plot eventually "turns on solitude" as the title…...

We'll soon see if acting is indeed in Dakota Johnson's blood. Her patriarch entourage includes Antonio Banderas and if she ever wants to do television she can ask her father Don Johnson for cues, but when your grandmother is named Tippi Hedren, your mother is Melanie Griffith, I guess your choice in career paths is predestined. After playing alongside her mother in 1999's Crazy in Alabama and not touching film for a good decade, now she is taking on a range of supporting and lead parts that could push her towards an indie actress career with the occasional paycheck roles on the side. Commencing in October, we'll see her in David Fincher's The Social Network and 2011 becomes her break out year. The filmography for Dakota includes the tween friendly part in Daniel Barnz's Beastly, with a better range of parts to be found in So Yong Kim...

Antonio Banderas cut his teeth in a wild, new wave of Spanish films. Now he is returning to his untamed roots
Antonio Banderas has done some strange things in the past for the Oscar-winning director and fellow Spaniard Pedro Almodóvar. But then he went to Hollywood. The two men have not worked together for 20 years.
Now Banderas is to transform himself into the evil, psychopathic protagonist of an Almodóvar terror film as he returns to his roots and to the genre-bending director whose off-beat 1980s films launched him on the path to stardom.
"It is the harshest film I have written and Banderas's character is brutal," Almodóvar explained last week after the actor had announced he was to star in the film The Skin I Live In, inspired by Thierry Jonquet's novel Tarantula.
"He is a man who represents the most absolute abuse of power, a man with no scruples at all,...

Banderas giving back with 'El Camino'
MADRID -- Antonio Banderas confessed Friday that he "felt guilty" about not doing more for Spanish cinema in the past. He was speaking at a press conference in Madrid to publicize the 6.3 million ($7.4 million) movie, El Camino de Los Ingleses. El Camino (The Road of the English) is Banderas' second directorial effort after the 1999 Crazy in Alabama. The film, which will shoot for almost 11 weeks on location in Malaga and London, will be one of the first productions to use the new state-of-the-art film studio City of Lights in Alicante. "For the past few years, I've felt guilty for not giving back to Spanish cinema. I've been working for 16 years in the United States and I'm excited to be back and come back in a story based in my home town Malaga and set in the '70s, which is when I left for Madrid," Banderas said.
