The Matrix

John Wick's 'Gun-Fu' Action Style Was Originally Designed For A Jason Statham Movie [Exclusive]
Image
When "John Wick" blasted into theaters on October 24, 2014, moviegoers lost their minds over the film's inventive amalgam of hand-to-hand combat and gunplay. It was doubly impressive due to Keanu Reeves' seemingly effortless facility for performing many of his own stunts. Obviously, no one was surprised that the star of "The Matrix" franchise could brawl and shoot convincingly, but the degree of difficulty appeared to be off the charts. Just when you think you've seen every possible iteration of martial arts combat on screen, along comes stuntman-turned-director Chad Stahelski to show action junkies that there's still plenty of room for throwdown innovation.

If you're a hardcore fan of the genre, you know that filmmakers have blended these gunplay and hand-to-hand combat before. The Wachowskis first introduced the idea in "The Matrix," which inspired Kurt Wimmer to go utterly gonzo by inventing "gun kata" in his ludicrously entertaining "Equilibrium." Wimmer was so...

Hayao Miyazaki Had a Very Important Lesson for ‘John Wick’ Director That He “Tried to steal from anime”
Image
Hayao Miyazaki has been an inspiration for countless creators. Ever since he debuted as a feature film director, praises have been poured over his creations, both in Japan and overseas. The list of his admirers is long, and among them is also John Wick‘s director, Chad Stahelski.

Stahelski directed the 2014 John Wick movie as well as its three sequels. He began his career as a stuntman, but then proceeded to become a director. He is also the director of the fourth installment of The Matrix, and one of his latest works includes being the action director of Shinichiro Watanabe’s Lazarus anime.

John Wick‘s director is a Hayao Miyazaki fan

In an interview with Polygon, Chad Stahelski had the opportunity to geek out about everything he has learned from Shinichiro Watanabe and Hayao Miyazaki. The John Wick director confessed that it was Watanabe’s authorship that made every work of his stand out.

10 Things I Hate About You: The film’s director is developing a sequel trilogy, which will also feature a nod to Heath Ledger
Andrew Keegan, Heath Ledger, Julia Stiles, Gabrielle Union, Susan May Pratt, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, David Krumholtz, and Larisa Oleynik in 10 Things I Hate About You (1999)
The 1999 high school comedy, 10 Things I Hate About You, helped usher in Heath Ledger as a new breakout star on American shores. The movie was a modern day retelling of the Shakespeare play The Taming of the Shrew and featured an ensemble cast that also included Julia Stiles, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Larisa Oleynik, Andrew Keegan, Allison Janney and Larry Miller. The teen romance film would also become a hit as it opened second at the box office (having gone up against The Matrix) and grossed over $50 million worldwide on a $30 million budget. It would also spawn a TV show adaptation on ABC Family in 2009. Deadline is reporting that the director of the original film, Gil Junger, is now planning to make a sequel trilogy to the 1999 comedy.

The sequel trilogy will also have a nod to the late star, Heath Ledger, who played the school’s rebellious student, Patrick Verona.

The Heartbreaking True Story About Keanu Reeves’ Girlfriend and Daughter
Image
Keanu Reeves is one of Hollywood’s most humble and honorable actors. He isn’t just any favorite action star; he’s the internet’s ultimate soft-spoken legend. From dodging bullets in The Matrix to taking down armies in John Wick, he’s the guy who can save the world and still give up his subway seat. But beyond the world of stardom, fan edits, memes, and breathtaking quotes lies a tragic story.

Reeves’ life journey through love and unimaginable loss isn’t just heartbreaking, it’s honestly haunting. His real-life romance with Jennifer Syme was pure magic until it shattered with the stillbirth of their daughter, followed by Jennifer’s tragic death just a year later.

And through it all, he never turned bitter, only quieter, kinder, and more grounded. It’s the kind of pain most people never recover from, yet Reeves carries it with humility and grace.

Aaron Paul to Lead Psychological Thriller ‘The Midnight Pool’ for ‘V for Vendetta’ Director James McTeigue (Exclusive)
Image
“Breaking Bad” star Aaron Paul has signed on to star in psychological thriller “The Midnight Pool” for James McTeigue.

The film — which comes from producers Traction, McTeigue and Gramercy Park Media, which is also financing — is heading to Cannes, where it’s being introduced by newly-launched company Stoic alongside CAA Media Finance and UTA Independent Film Group.

The 2022 Black List script comes from Jonathan Easley (“Red Right Hand”) and centers on Johnny Black (Paul), a jaded journalist whom, after a personal tragedy, is lured into the shadows of an elite, exclusive society, where the pursuit of a career-defining story becomes a descent into illusion, manipulation and altered realities.

“The moment Midnight Pool landed on my desk I knew I had to sit down with James,” said Paul. “The world created by Jonathan Easley really stayed with me long after I put the script down. The idea of James holding the...

Ballerina Stills Spotlight Intense Flamethrower Sequence That Shocked Ana de Armas
Image
Ballerina opens in just about a month, and as the marketing campaign ramps up, we've received a handful of new stills from the actioner, featuring Ana de Armas as Eve Macarro, a young new Ruska Roma assassin that is out for revenge.

Like with any John Wick film, this one will also showcase extensive stunt work and larger than life action set pieces, none bigger than a sequence that will see the film's Academy Award-nominated star wield a flamethrower to take on a horde of baddies.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, de Armas detailed her rehearsal for the flamethrower sequence and how the whole experince absolutely shook her to her core. "I remember the first day the stunt team was practicing with the fire, and they told me to go do it before the shoot, and I said, 'No, no, no, I'll be fine,' and they got the main fire guy that gets burned,...

6 Iconic Roles Almost Played by Nicolas Cage
Image
Nicolas Cage has always followed his own unique rhythm when it comes to picking roles. Cage never quite plays it safe—and that’s exactly why audiences can’t take their eyes off him. Over the years, he’s become a magnet for internet memes, a favorite for offbeat roles, and a total legend in cult cinema circles. But beyond all the films he did take on, there’s a handful of iconic roles that were this close to landing in his lap.

Due to timing, travel hesitations, or just gut decisions, Cage had to pass them up, leaving those parts to other stars who, to be fair, did a pretty incredible job. Still, it’s a fun “what if” game to picture Cage stepping into these beloved characters. Here’s a look at five iconic roles that Nicolas Cage almost played—and how things might’ve looked very different if he had said yes.

10 Best-Selling Games Developed by Rockstar Games

There are not many gaming studios that have made a global impact as strong as Rockstar Games. The studio was founded in 1999 by Sam and Dan Houser, and since then, it has been trying to perfect its storytelling. Their Grand Theft Auto series alone has changed the perception of what video games can be, sometimes sparking debates, but mostly breaking records and, most importantly, keeping us glued to screens.

Besides the technicalities, what makes Rockstar Games special is their cultural impact. How many developers can claim that their games have caused congressional hearings, influenced fashion trends, inspired movies, and cemented themselves so deeply in pop culture? Now with such a huge impact, it is obvious that the studio has raked in huge amounts of money with each of its installments. Let’s explore their 10 best-selling games so far.

The Best American Martial Arts Movies
Image
It can’t be denied that as far as martial arts movies go, the best ones come from Asia, particularly Hong Kong during their action heyday, which was arguably the 70s, 80s and first half of the ’90s. It’s tough to compete with the likes of the Shaw Brothers and the drunken master known as Jackie Chan. That said, martial arts movies were also making a foothold in the States decades ago, thanks mainly to Bruce Lee-mania following the release of Enter the Dragon. Before that movie, very few actors in Hollywood seemed like they were credible martial artists, except maybe James Coburn, a student of Lee’s, who pulled off some pretty good-looking moves in the otherwise silly Our Man Flint movies. Steve McQueen also had training but didn’t use martial arts on screen. Up to then, though, the most notable uses of martial arts in movies usually revolved around Judo,...

Snatch: How The Misfits In Guy Ritchie’s Crime Comedy Turns Mayhem Into Masterpiece!
Image
Exploring The Misfits At The Heart Of Guy Ritchie’s Snatch ( Photo Credit – Amazon Prime Video )

Guy Ritchie never really hit the brakes. He’s been working so steadily, it’s almost easy to forget how jarring and electric his early films felt. When most crime thrillers were still echoing the Quentin Tarantino boom of the 90s—full of pop-culture chatter, and over-the-top gore, Ritchie came swinging with his own distinctly British chaos.

The London underworld had been explored before, but not quite like this. His stories weren’t just blood-soaked or cheeky. They were riddled with misdirection and a kind of street-smart slapstick. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels got his foot in the door, but Snatch cemented his place as a master of mayhem with a pen dipped in grit and wit.

Meet Turkish & Tommy

Snatch doesn’t really care about leading men or tidy resolutions. It throws together a patchwork of thugs,...

Why Did Natalie Portman Leave The Thor Franchise Before Love & Thunder? Here’s What We Know

Here’s Why Natalie Portman Decided To Exit From Thor Franchise!(Photo Credit –Instagram)

Natalie Portman’s exit from the Thor franchise after The Dark World had fans scratching their heads. The actress, who played Jane Foster, had been a key part of the Asgardian saga until she mysteriously disappeared in Thor: Ragnarok. While some thought it was just a cosmic shift or creative differences, the truth is a little juicier. The real reason?

It all boils down to a behind-the-scenes drama involving a director shake-up. Portman was initially on board for the sequel due to Patty Jenkins’ direction, but when Jenkins was replaced, Portman felt slighted and, well, decided to take a step back. However, don’t fret, Mighty Thor made a triumphant return in Love and Thunder! Talk about a comeback!

Thunderbolts Breaks Records: Highest-Rated MCU Phase 5 Film On Rotten Tomatoes

Thunderbolts Triumphs In MCU Phase 5 Films ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

The MCU might’ve finally found its Phase 5 saving grace, and it comes wrapped in betrayal, anti-heroes, and more trust issues than a reality show finale. Thunderbolts brings together a ragtag team of misfits who’d rather punch each other than save the world—but somehow, it works. With Jake Schreier steering the chaos and the cast dishing out some of the most morally questionable team-ups we’ve seen, this finale to Phase 5 delivers sharp action, darker themes, and a much-needed edge. Fans were skeptical, critics were cautious, but Rotten Tomatoes just handed Thunderbolts the unexpected badge of honor: it’s officially the highest-rated MCU movie of Phase 5. (via Screenrant)

When Keanu Reeves’ The Matrix Co-Star Took This Extreme Measure To Transform His Physique—But The Studio Let Him Down
Image
What Extreme Measure Did Keanu Reeves’ The Matrix Co-Star Take For His Role? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

In 1999, The Matrix reshaped more than just reality. It reshaped bodies. While Keanu Reeves and the gang trained like martial arts machines, one of their co-stars took a more… surgical approach. Joe Pantoliano, who played the slippery Cypher, went under the knife to get in shape for the role. But the real twist: Warner Bros. never paid him back.

Pantoliano had worked with the studio before – Risky Business, The Goonies, U.S. Marshals – so he thought he had some goodwill built up. And when the Matrix team demanded he be in top-tier shape, he took them seriously. Very seriously. “They wanted me to be in the best shape of my life,” he told author Brian Raftery in Best. Movie. Year. Ever: How 1999 Blew Up the Big Screen (via Cheat Sheet). “No drinking, eating steamed vegetables,...

Margot Robbie and James Gunn Ditched Harley Quinn’s Most Hated Tattoo In The Suicide Squad– Here’s Why That ‘Rotten’ Ink Had To Go
Image
Margot Robbie and James Gunn – The Suicide Squad ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

When The Suicide Squad hit theaters on August 5, fans noticed something was off, and for once, it wasn’t Harley Quinn’s chaotic behavior. Margot Robbie’s Harley showed up without her infamous “Rotten” tattoo scrawled across her jawline. And no, it wasn’t a makeup mishap. It was a choice—a loud and clear one.

Director James Gunn and Robbie both agreed: the ink had to go. While answering fan questions on Instagram, Gunn spilled the tea (via Screenrant), saying, “Margot didn’t like it and found out I also didn’t like it, so we just decided to remove it. No, it’s not addressed.” Clean and simple. And honestly, long overdue.

Was The Matrix’s Iconic Green Code Inspired By This Popular Japanese Dish? Here’s What We Know
Image
The Matrix Iconic Green Digital Rain Visual (Photo Credit – Prime Video)

The 1999 sci-fi action film, ‘The Matrix’, is still regarded as one of the best and most visually stunning movies of all time. If you remember, the film featured a cascading green code that rained down the screen.

Source of The Matrix’s Digital Rain

That code has a surprising, rather weird, origin story behind it. It’s not anything remotely related to a cryptic computer program, encrypted data, alien language, or some text with a deeper philosophical meaning. In fact, they were not real codes at all. On the contrary, it was sushi, the Japanese dish. Can you believe it?

In an earlier interview with CNET, Simon Whitely, the production designer of The Matrix, said, “I like to tell everybody that The Matrix’s code is made out of Japanese sushi recipes.” The source of the digital rain was...

In the world of constantly developing and evolving technology and artificial intelligence, it seems like even Hollywood’s entertainment industry doesn’t seem to be exempt from inching closer and closer to becoming heavily invested in it. This comes amidst the latest reports about Russian Doll actress Natasha Lyonne’s upcoming directorial project.

While there is still a lot of skepticism around the use of AI in these entertainment pieces, the actress, writer, director, and producer all in one is reportedly not hesitating to take the leap and allow artificial intelligence to dominate greater parts of filmmaking. This is because her next directorial flick is reportedly set to be made with the heavy use of AI.

Uncanny Valley | Natasha Lyonne is making a sci-fi film which uses AI
Natasha Lyonne in Poker Face (2023)
Poker Face star Natasha Lyonne is to direct and star in Uncanny Valley, a sci-fi film which uses generative AI for its virtual world.

Days before the return of hit murder mystery series Poker Face, its star, Natasha Lyonne, has announced a separate project. The actor and filmmaker plans to make a science fiction film that will – in part – be made using generative AI.

Called Uncanny Valley, it’s said to be about a teenager named Mila, who begins to play an augmented reality game that begins to have some sort of disturbing impact on the real world. The script was co-written by Lyonne and Brit Marling, best known for her work as an actor in such cult items as Another Earth and TV’s The Oa, and both will star in their movie in undisclosed roles.

The potentially sensitive bit is the way it’s going to be created:...

When Shah Rukh Spoke On 2004’s Main Hoon Na and the Indo-Pak Relations Storyline

Subhash K Jha turns the focus once again on the Farah Khan directed Main Hoon Na, which released in 2004 and is now considered a cult classic. As a bonus, there is a throwback interview with the star Shah Rukh Khan that is not to be missed!

Hefty hints and wacky whispers harking back to the ‘golden’ era of masala cinema, carpet this perky piece of pop-art, buoyed and held aloft by the defiance of every law of gravity.

And how can you stay grave when Shah Rukh Khan as Ram Prasad Sharma (giggle!), in his most politically correct role ever( ahem!), goes back to college to protect his army- boss Kabir Bedi’s rebellious daughter Amrita Rao from harm? How can you stay serious as (chuckle!) Why Laurence Fishburne Didn't Return As Morpheus In The Matrix Resurrections
Image
When the first two sequels to the Wachowskis' "The Matrix," titled "The Matrix Reloaded" and "The Matrix Revolutions," both released in theaters in 2003, it set a strange precedent for Hollywood blockbuster filmmaking. Certain 2000s-era hits, rather than getting a single expected sequel, were granted a gigantic, outsize, super-sequel finale that was released in two parts. In addition to "The Matrix," major studios also took a "mega-sequel finale" approach to "Pirates of the Caribbean," "Harry Potter," "Twilight," and "The Hunger Games." Indeed, "Mission: Impossible" has since done the same thing with "Dead Reckoning" and "The Final Reckoning." Heck, even Marvel Studios made an "Avengers" mega-sequel-finale with "Infinity War" and "Endgame."

"The Matrix," however, also proved that the mega-sequel approach doesn't always work well. While "Reloaded" and "Revolutions" were hugely ambitious and exciting hits, they were also overstuffed, clunky, and wrestled with too many ideas. The mythology also became far too complicated for its own good.

In one of the more unusual creative collaborations to come along in a while, The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Jaron Lanier — the longtime technology innovator and sometime-skeptic — is teaming with Natasha Lyonne and Brit Marling for a new feature film that will be set in the world of immersive video games and make abundant use of AI.

Uncanny Valley, as the project is called, is backed by Asteria, the new AI-based studio founded by Lyonne and Los Angeles-based filmmaker and entrepreneur Bryn Mooser. Lyonne will direct from a script she wrote with Marling; both will star.

Centered on a teenage girl who becomes unmoored by a hugely popular Ar video game in a parallel present, the movie will blend traditional live-action and game elements. The latter will be created by Lanier as well as Lyonne and Marling.

Spencer explained that when he originally sold the series, he shot and edited everything before a big production company took over and changed his role.

“If I could go back in time, I would’ve known what was happening to me. I was getting hijacked,” Spencer explained. “I had my own walkie-talkie, it said Executive Producer Spencer. Every The Matrix Movie, Ranked From Worst To Best
Image
Short of "Star Wars" and "Star Trek," you'd be hard-pressed to find a science fiction franchise of the modern era more influential than "The Matrix." Did the Wachowskis' 1999 magnum opus take major inspiration from prominent anime and cyberpunk stories? Yes, but it blended those with a distinct philosophical angle, strong style choices, and an approach to action that completely revolutionized the Hollywood blockbuster.

Though the films that followed were more controversial, don't believe the lie that "The Matrix" is the only part of the franchise worth watching. Each piece brings new ideas, memorable moments, and serves a key role in the larger ideological narrative of "The Matrix." They may be less straightforward than the original, but in some ways, that only makes them more intriguing.

Today, we're ranking all of the "Matrix" movies, including the 2003 animated anthology film "The Animatrix." Each is a success in its own right, but some stand taller than others.

Before Scooby-Doo, Matthew Lillard & Freddie Prinze Jr. Starred In A Forgotten Sci-Fi War Movie
Image
A generation of kids grew up watching Raja Gosnell's 2002 live-action comedy flick "Scooby-Doo," an adaptation of Hanna-Barbera's long-running Scooby-Doo cartoon shows from the 1970s. In the film, Freddy, originally voiced by Frank Welker, was played by Freddie Prinze, Jr., and Shaggy, originally voiced by Casey Kasem, was played by Matthew Lillard. Prinze was squarely in the public eye after starring in hit films like "She's All That" and "I Know What You Did Last Summer," while Lillard was famous for his turns in "Hackers," "Scream," and "Slc Punk!" Lillard, incidentally, was also in "She's All That." Both actors were very much their generation's "It" boys, and the decade proved to be very lucrative for them both.

Well, "Wing Commander" notwithstanding.

"Wing Commander" is not well-remembered by too many people. It was based on a series of 1990s "Wing Commander" video games created by Chris Roberts, who also directed the film.

Michael B. Jordan And Keanu Reeves Crossed Paths In This Forgotten But Inspiring Sports Movie
Image
Sports movies come in all flavors. Take Luca Guadagnino's "Challengers," which draws a stylish, frenetic parallel between the athletes involved in its story's central love triangle and their passionate love for the game of tennis. Guadagnino understands how to enliven a drama that thrives on this complex dynamic, resulting in a sports movie that feels fresh and exciting. On the flip side, we have intensely dramatic sports movies like "The Iron Claw," which dramatizes the real-life tragedy of the Von Erich family while still thriving as a cinematic experience. Then there are stories that don't explore the nuances of a sport or delve too deeply into the drama but still make for a decent, enjoyable genre movie, albeit one that's easy to overlook. This brings us to Brian Robbins' "Hardball," a film about a morally grey protagonist who struggles to find salvation in coaching a baseball team full of rising talents.

Landmvrks' Florent Salfati: Anime and Manga are a Big Part of Who I Am
Image
With the release of The Darkest Place I’ve Ever Been , French nu-metalcore giants Landmvrks have firmly planted their flag as one of the most powerful creative forces in all of heavy music. The album blends elements of metal, hardcore, and hip-hop flows, while also telling a riveting, terrifying story. This is the genre at its peak. So of course, there has to be anime involved somewhere, right? I had the chance to speak with Landmvrks frontman Florent Salfati about pushing the limits of their sound, anime fandom in France, and the ways that anime has affixed itself into his creative mind. To start things off, it’s been about four years since your last album! It seems like your fanbase has grown a lot since then, so how does it feel to have such a sense of anticipation for a new release of yours from fans around the world?...

Ballerina: Ana de Armas Is Out For Revenge In Killer New Character Posters
Image
Hot on the heels of those awesome Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning posters, Lionsgate has debuted twelve kickass new character posters of their own for their upcoming actioner Ballerina, which stars Academy Award-nominee Ana de Armas as Eve Macarro, a young new Ruska Roma assassin that is out for blood as she attempts to avenge her fallen family.

Standing in her way, however, will be an entire horde of top-level killers, none bigger than the legendary Baba Yaga himself, John Wick (Keanu Reeves), who it seems will be tasked with dissuading her conquest or taking her out... permanently.

While you'll have to wait until June to find out what ultimately happens when the two square off, the film is easily one of this summer's most anticipated offerings as Ana de Armas tackles the most physically demanding role of her career - and her deadliest role since playing the fan-favorite...

Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Joe Pantoliano, and Carrie-Anne Moss in The Matrix (1999)
The Matrix production company Village Roadshow’s film library to sell for at least $417.5m
Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Joe Pantoliano, and Carrie-Anne Moss in The Matrix (1999)
The bankrupted production company Village Roadshow, which financed The Matrix, has a catalogue of films worth a minimum of $417.5m, a judge has ruled.

The collapse of Village Roadshow in March 2025 brought to an end a production company whose history stretched back to the late 80s. In the wake of its bankruptcy, the LA-based firm’s back catalogue of films is going up for sale at auction – and the winning bidder will now have to pay a minimum of $417.5m to get it.

The ruling was made on the 22nd April according to The Hollywood Reporter, with Alcon Media Group – the production company behind Blade Runner 2049 and TV’s The Expanse – putting in an offer for Village Roadshow’s rights for that above-mentioned sum. The bid was approved by a bankruptcy judge, which means that it’s now the minimum the film rights will sell for – a competitor could...

Judge Sets May Deadline For Bids On Bankrupt Village Roadshow
Image
A Delaware bankruptcy court judge today set a May 16 deadline for bidders interested in making a run at Village Roadshow, and a May 20 auction date if more than one party shows up.

The number to top is $416.5 million offered by Alcon Entertainment, which was approved by Judge Thomas Horan today as a so-called stalking horse bidder. Alcon topped an earlier $353 million stalking horse bid from Content Partners when the producer and financier of a string of big film titles filed for bankruptcy a month ago. The stalking horse sets a floor for others and, in this case increases “the likelihood that, given the circumstances, the best possible price for the Library Assets will be received,” the judge wrote in a filing approving the sale process.

The company must file notice within one day after the bid deadline on whether it will hold an auction or sell to Alcon. The judge...

Want to Buy Village Roadshow’s Stake in ‘The Matrix’? It’ll Cost at Least $417.5M
Image
Village Roadshow Entertainment Group’s film library will sell for at least $417.5 million.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Thomas Horan on Tuesday approved an offer from Alcon Media Group for Village Roadshow’s collection of 108 feature films, including stakes in The Matrix and Ocean’s franchises, its fledgling studio business and ownership of various copyrights that’ll give the buyer the rights to co-produce proven tentpoles. The stalking horse bid, which sets a price floor for the assets, will be tested at auction. Rival offers, including from Warner Bros. Discovery and investment firm Content Partners, may still surface.

Last month, Village Roadshow — once one of the most prolific behind-the-scenes financiers in Hollywood — filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. It pointed to a costly endeavor aimed at creating content in-house and the souring of its longtime partnership with Warner Bros.

Blade Runner 2049 coproducer Alcon Entertainment outbid Content Partners, which offered $365 million. The...

The Witcher star Laurence Fishburne advises fans to "be patient" waiting for final season
Image
We may still be reeling from the season finale of The Wheel of Time, but don't worry, there's plenty more good fantasy television on the way this year. One of the biggest fantasy shows still to come down the pike in 2025 is The Witcher, which will be releasing its fourth season on Netflix. We don't have an exact release date yet, but unless there's a serious shake-up at Netflix, it will come sometime between now and December 31.

This is an important season for the series, since it will be the first time that the white-haired witcher Geralt of Rivia is played by Liam Hemsworth, after previous Geralt actor Henry Cavill stepped down following season 3. Changing a lead actor is always a challenge, and doubly so when they're as central to the series as Cavill's Geralt. Can The Witcher survive this change?

We shall see. Beyond Hemsworth's Geralt, The Witcher...

The Underrated Ben Stiller Sci-Fi Flop That Should Have Spawned A Franchise
Image
After more than 25 years, it truly feels like one of Ben Stiller's best films, "Mystery Men," could have been the band of underdogs that surpassed even the likes of "The Suicide Squad" or "Guardians of the Galaxy." Riffing on comic book superheroes before "Deadpool" made it cool, "Mystery Men" is adapted from a team of misfit heroes that debuted in "Flaming Carrot" #16 and showcases an array of comedic talent. These low-level and incredibly odd crimefighters consist of Mr. Furious (Ben Stiller), The Shoveller (William H. Macy), fork-throwing Blue Raja (Hank Azaria), the superhuman fart factory The Spleen (Paul Reubens), Invisible Boy, who can only disappear when no one is looking (Kel Mitchell), and The Bowler (Janeane Garofalo), whose weapon of choice is a bowling ball containing the skull of her late father.

Fighting the good fight for laughs, the film received a mixed reception both critically and financially, having...

1. James Cameron

One of Christopher Nolan‘s most ambitious films, Inception, has received honest appreciation from James Cameron. Cameron is well-known for his visual epics like Avatar and Titanic. Cameron thought Inception was one of the best movies of 2010 and even suggested that director Christopher Nolan should have been nominated for an Academy Award that year.
