Julianne Moore and Sydney Sweeney in Echo Valley (2025)
Sydney Sweeney and Julianne Moore know where the bodies are buried in the trailer for Apple TV+’s Echo Valley
Julianne Moore and Sydney Sweeney in Echo Valley (2025)
Parents often say they’d do anything for their children. Would they help them hide a body? What if the situation spirals out of control and the truth threatens to bubble to the surface? Would they remain the dutiful parent or start to see the problem for what (or who) it truly is? Today, Apple TV+ is debuting a trailer for Echo Valley, a chilling thriller directed by Michael Pearce, starring Sydney Sweeney, Julianne Moore, and Fiona Shaw.

In Echo Valley, Moore plays Kate Garrett, a woman recovering from a personal tragedy while boarding and training horses at Echo Valley Farm, twenty-two remote, Bob Ross painting-worthy acres in Southeastern Pennsylvania. In the middle of the night, Kate’s recalcitrant daughter, Claire (Sweeney), is covered in blood at her doorstep beside herself. As an unexpected guest shatters Kate’s quiet recovery, things quickly spiral out of control.

Scott Free’s Ridley Scott produces Echo Valley,...

Smurfs (2025): Release Date, Cast, Plot, and All You Need to Know
Image
The Smurfs are back, but whether that’s a good thing or not, we’re not quite sure. These blue creatures have been a pop culture staple for decades, and now they’re making a comeback in Smurfs, a reboot set for release in 2025. Unlike previous adaptations, however, this one will be a musical, with, perhaps, more surprises along the way.

PG movies are making a box office comeback, even outperforming PG-13 films last year. Paul Dergarabedian from Comscore says they’re becoming a real summer force. And while streaming is always there, filmmakers like Dean Fleischer Camp (Lilo & Stitch) believe nothing beats the magic of a movie theater, especially for kids.

With an all-star cast and an attempt to break down the Smurf mythology, this could either be a delightful trip down memory lane or yet another miss for the franchise. Let’s break it all down, and what we know about the project.

Cinespia Announces June Screenings at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, Including ‘Showgirls’ for Pride
Image
Is it really even summer without a few movies under the stars? Sure, there are plenty of places in Los Angeles to catch your favorite classic films, but there’s no where quite like the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Between the spirits accompanying each viewing, the cool dew of the nighttime grass, and the overall atmosphere of cinematic community, Cinespia knows a thing or two about honoring the theatrical experience. And they don’t even need a theater to do so.

In partnership with Amazon MGM Studios, Cinespia kicks of their 2025 summer run with a bevy of fan favorites includes the Coen Bros.’ stoner noir “The Big Lebowski” on May 24, a 30th anniversary screening of “Clueless” on May 25, and an homage to the late David Lynch on May 31 with “Blue Velvet.” Fans of Lynch can drop some night blooming jasmine by his grave should they wish to, as the beloved surrealist...

Taylor Sheridan’s 78% Netflix Show Has Cast ‘Yellowstone’ Actor Who Delivered the Best Spinoff of the Franchise
Image
Taylor Sheridan’s latest streaming gamble pulled a big-time power move, roping in a familiar face from his TV empire. And not just any face, but the one responsible for headlining the most talked-about spinoff in the entire franchise.

With a solid 78% score backing the new series, this casting twist feels like Sheridan doubling down on what works. If there were any doubts about this show’s pedigree, that casting choice just shut them down hard. Sheridan knows how to play his aces.

Yellowstone Franchise Star Playing Series Regular in Landman Season 2 Marks an Exciting Tombstone Reunion
Image
Fans are getting more excited about the return of Landman after the addition of Sam Elliott to the cast. The news has gotten even better as it's now been reported that Elliott will have a substantial role as one of the show's new stars, making his involvement much more than a brief guest role.

Last month, there had been reports that Elliott was in talks for a role in Landman Season 2. Landman star Billy Bob Thornton would later mention in an interview that Elliott, who he goes "back to the '80s with," would be in Season 2, seemingly confirming the casting. Now, a new report by Variety has revealed that Elliott's role is as a series regular. Additional details about his role haven't yet been revealed, though Elliott joins Thornton, Demi Moore, Ali Larter, Andy Garcia, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan, and Colm Feore.

Stan Lee at an event for Hulk (2003)
Jeff Bridges supports fan theory that Donny wasn’t real in The Big Lebowski
Stan Lee at an event for Hulk (2003)
Every now and then, directors and stars will confirm a popular fan theory, as when Stan Lee turned out to be a Watcher in the MCU and that the peddler in Aladdin was actually Genie. (And we’re not entirely unconvinced that the dad from Home Alone wasn’t a mobster…) Well we can add Jeff Bridges to the list, as he’s a firm believer in the circulated fan theory that Donny wasn’t real in The Big Lebowski. He even has the evidence to really tie it together.

As part of his tour with The Big Lebowski, Bridges said that Donny (Steve Buscemi) was never really there. And for whatever argument you have against it, Bridges has a counter that he thinks holds weight. “He’s a figment of Walter’s imagination… And the last few times I’ve seen the movie, I’ve run that theme and it kind of works,...

Jeff Bridges would do The Big Lebowski sequel if the Coen Bros. abide
Image
Oh, you know how sequels go: strikes and gutters, ups and downs. The Big Lebowski has been a bonafide classic — and not just of the cult variety — for so long now that it’s become inevitable that sequel talk would come up. So where does it stand? Well, it might come down to — I won’t say “heroes”… — brothers who would be the ones to get it going. But The Dude himself and Maude Lebowski are on board…

Jeff Bridges recently spoke (as part of his “An Evening with The Dude” tour) about how the idea of a sequel to The Big Lebowski gets brought up quite a bit, and although he’s sure it will never happen, Joel and Ethan Coen have surprised him before. “Julianne [Moore] and I would fantasize about that. We did another movie together, Seventh Son, she played a witch in that movie. And we would often say,...

David Lynch Tribute, ‘The Big Lebowski,’ and ‘Clueless’ Lead Cinespia Summer Lineup at Hollywood Forever Cemetery (Exclusive)
Image
Cinespia is back for a 24th season at L.A.’s Hollywood Forever Cemetery, and this year’s lineup of outdoor movie screenings includes a tribute to the late auteur David Lynch at the site of his final resting place.

The summer season kicks off over Memorial Day weekend with the presentation of two L.A. stories: the Coen Brothers’ “The Big Lebowski” on Saturday, May 24, followed by a 30th anniversary screening of Amy Heckerling’s “Clueless” on Sunday, May 25.

Then, on Saturday, May 31, Cinespia will present “Blue Velvet,” Lynch’s 1986 masterpiece starring Isabella Rossellini, Kyle MacLachlan, Dennis Hopper and Laura Dern. “Cinespia has always been a love letter to Los Angeles and to the movies that shaped us,” said Cinespia founder John Wyatt.

Jeff Bridges Wants a 'Big Lebowski' Sequel, But Doesn't Think The Coen Brothers Will Make One
Image
Jeff Bridges has been teasing a possible return to one of his most iconic roles: The Dude in the Coen Brothers movie, The Big Lebowski. At a time when everyone wants to dip back into popular movies of their past and bring out an unexpected and potentially unwanted sequel, prequel, or spinoff, Bridges has been part of a couple of late franchise returns already, thanks to his involvement in the Tron franchise. Now, it seems, he would be more than happy to have another run out as The Dude, and added that one of his costars often “fantasized” about it happening with him.

The Big Lebowski was not a runaway success when it was originally released over 25 years ago, but still made $46.7 million from its $15 million budget. Over time, though, it has become the perfect embodiment of a cult classic and is often cited as one of the most influential and quoted comedies of all-time.

Jeff Bridges Would 'Absolutely' Do a Sequel to The Big Lebowski, but There Remains 1 Major Hurdle
Image
Jeff Bridges has had an illustrious career. He's worked with some of Hollywood's greatest directors and has been nominated for seven Academy Awards. However, for many people, he'll always be associated with the 1998 comedy classic, The Big Lebowski, which, if the legendary actor had his way, would be receiving a sequel.

Per Deadline, Bridges attended a screening for The Big Lebowski in Los Angeles and was asked whether he'd be interested in reprising his iconic role of The Dude in a potential sequel. The acclaimed actor would confirm that not only would he be more than willing to return, but that his The Big Lebowski co-star Julianne Moore would as well. "Of course," Bridges said. "Julianne and I would fantasize about that. We did another movie together, Seventh Son, she played a witch in that movie. And we would often say, ‘Gee it’s all set up for a sequel.

Jeff ‘The Dude’ Bridges Teases ‘The Big Lebowski’ Sequel, Says Julianne Moore Fantasizes About It
Image
Jeff Bridges has shared that he’d be up for making a sequel to The Big Lebowski – which brought him one of the most beloved roles of his career.

Bridges, who played “The Dude” in the 1998 Cohen Brothers thriller, spoke to the audience after a screening of the original film at the Orpheum Theatre in LA.

The Daily Mail newspaper reports that Bridges was asked about the prospect of returning to the role that helped make him a star, and replied that he and original co-star Julianne Moore were of the same mind:

“Of course. Julianne and I would fantasize about that. We did another movie together, Seventh Son, she played a witch in that movie. And we would often say, ‘Gee it’s all set up for a sequel.’”

He added, though, he thought the prospect of the Coens wanting to return to the subject matter was unlikely:

Oscar-Winning ‘No Other Land’ Documentary Available for Digital Rental to Benefit Masafer Yatta Communities – Film News in Brief
Image
Oscar-winning documentary “No Other Land” has been made newly available for digital rent in North America in an effort to fundraise for Masafer Yatta communities.

The three-week fundraiser, which starts Friday and lasts through May 9, allows individuals and organizations to rent the film and hold their own screenings. Proceeds will go to the Masafer Yatta communities that are depicted in the film.

“We decided to independently make our film accessible online in the U.S. because, despite winning the Oscar, our community is still being destroyed and we urgently need help. All the money we get from this fundraiser will go directly to the community, physical and psychological support to help families recover after settler attacks, a local sheep fodder factory to create employment, and English classes so the younger generation has more tools to tell our stories,” Basel Adra, one of the filmmakers, who worked alongside Hamdan Ballal, Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor,...

Landman lead Billy Bob Thornton has teased the arrival of a Yellowstone and Western staple in the Taylor Sheridan drama series. Per the synopsis, the movie concerns “the most powerful man in the world [who] embarks on a frantic mission to prove he is humanity’s savior before the disaster he’s unleashed destroys everything.”

González Iñárritu is once again collaborating with his Birdman co-writers Alexander Dinelaris and Nicolas Giacobone, with Sabina Bierman also sharing a screenwriting credit.

First Details Emerge About Brad Pitt's Once Upon A Time In Hollywood Sequel For Netflix
Image
We have some fresh details regarding the upcoming "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" sequel that is currently being put together by Netflix. For those who may have missed it, yes, we are apparently getting a follow-up to director Quentin Tarantino's Oscar-winning 2019 smash hit. Brad Pitt is returning as Cliff Booth, with David Fincher on board to direct, working from a script by Tarantino. While we don't have a plot synopsis or anything like that, we do have some sense of what the movie is going to be now.

During a recent episode of the "Big Picture" podcast, hosts Sean Fennessey and Amanda Dobbins discussed the surprise sequel and shared what they've learned about the project. Fennessey revealed that it's actually probably best to not think of the film as a sequel. Rather, it's more akin to the "further adventures of Cliff Booth." Here's what he had to say...

“You’ll hate me at the end of this thing”: Taylor Sheridan Warned Sam Elliott Before ‘1883’ and I’m Glad It Never Got a Season 2
Image
Look, I know I’m about to ruffle some cowboy hats, but hear me out — 1883 never needed a second season, and I’ll die on this dusty prairie of an opinion. Taylor Sheridan warned Sam Elliott, “You’ll hate me at the end of this thing,” and that’s Exactly why it worked.

Rugged, harrowing, and perfectly self-contained, why mess with that, no? Some shows deserve a ride off into the sunset, not a dragged-out sequel that overstays its welcome. So yeah, I’m glad it ended where it did. And if that makes me the villain, do hand me the black hat, and let’s ride.

With crime sagas like “Power” and blockbuster films, Starz packs a surprising punch.

I recently wrote about how Starz absolutely crushes gritty crime dramas like “Power”, “Bmf,” and “Hightown,” (you can check that article here). But the truth is, there’s way more to Starz than just street-level thrills and crime sagas. The streamer’s also got a huge lineup of original hits, fan-favorite movies, and plenty of content you might not even realize is included – all at a very competitive price for a premium streamer. Everything you need to know about Starz

What is Starz?

10 Actors You Didn’t Know Have Made a Cameo Appearance in ‘Modern Family’
Image
Few television shows have captured the hearts of fans the way Modern Family has. Running for over 11 successful seasons from 2009 to 2020, the show has garnered critical reviews and has had a huge cultural impact through its unique mockumentary style.

A 22-time Emmy-winning sitcom, Modern Family not only redefined family-based comedy but also became a favorite for its witty storyline, relatable characters, and heartwarming moments.

A still from Modern Family | Credits: ABC

While the Pritchett-Dunphy-Tucker did a good job at keeping the audience entertained with their unusual, hilarious antics, what makes the show even more special is the countless surprise guest stars who popped in every now and then for unforgettable cameos. Throughout its run, there have been multiple actors and celebrities who have made an appearance, becoming a hit among fans. However, there have also been plenty of blink-and-you-miss-it cameos that perhaps even die-hard fans would have a hard time remembering.

Jeff Bridges at an event for The 82nd Annual Academy Awards (2010)
‘Emotions? They’re no big thing, man!’ Jeff Bridges on satisfaction, silver linings – and his secret life in music
Jeff Bridges at an event for The 82nd Annual Academy Awards (2010)
As his lost 70s songs emerge, the Oscar-winner and musician explains how the magic of art keeps him upbeat even after losing homes to LA fires

A rainy day in Santa Barbara, and Jeff Bridges sits in his garage, wondering where his favourite spectacles have got to. We are in the middle of a rangy conversation on a video call, meandering our way from Bob Dylan to the anthropomorphism of bees, via Crazy Heart, Cutter’s Way and The Big Lebowski. There are sidetracks and double-backs and loose threads. Intermittently, an unseen assistant hands the actor pairs of glasses seemingly identical to the ones he is already wearing. Bridges, in a soft brown cardigan, inspects each pair and dismisses them. “Where was I?” he asks.

The garage here serves as Bridges’ jam space and ceramics workshop. He has drums set up for his grandson, and a picture of Captain Beefheart on the wall.

Steve Buscemi Starring In Sam Rockwell's Star-Studded New Movie From Martin McDonagh
Image
Steve Buscemi joins Sam Rockwell in the cast of Martin McDonagh's upcoming movie Wild Horse Nine. One of the most prominent character actors in Hollywood, Buscemi has an impressive filmography, first shooting to fame with a supporting role in Quentin Tarantino's debut Reservoir Dogs. He later appeared in several hit movies, including Pulp Fiction, Con Air, The Big Lebowski, and Ghost World. Steve Buscemi Joins Sam Rockwell in Martin McDonagh’s ‘Wild Horse Nine’ (Exclusive)
Image
Steve Buscemi has joined the high-flying cast of Wild Horse Nine, a Searchlight feature being directed by Martin McDonagh. It is the filmmaker’s first feature since his acclaimed The Banshees of Inisherin.

Sam Rockwell, who starred in McDonagh’s Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, as well as John Malkovich and Parker Posey are already in the saddle for the dark comedic drama that begins shooting later this month in Rapa Nui, also known as Easter Island.

Plot and character details are being kept under wraps, but it is extremely rare that a production, let alone an American or British one, shoots on the island, which lies 3,700 kilometers off the coast of Chile and is one of the most remote, inhabited islands on Earth. It is also one of the rare areas not overrun by modern conveniences, as it is run by the Rapa Nui National Park.

Buscemi is stepping...

Oscars 2025: The Good, The Bad & The Fugly
Image
Whether it was Zoe Saldaña calling out her husband’s beautiful hair during her acceptance speech or June Squibb claiming that she’s really Bill Skarsgård in drag, the 97th Oscars on Sunday were chock-full of good, bag and fugly moments.

Here are all the moments that made us go hmmm.

So Good: Oscar gave a collective hug to fire victims by opening the show with a chill-inducing ode to our beloved L.A. with iconic moments from Rocky III, La La Land, Grand Canyon, La Bamba and The Big Lebowski, followed with gorgeous performances by Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.

So bad it was good: It felt a little strange to transition out of such a sentimental opener to the image of “four-time Oscar viewer” Conan O’Brien crawling out of Demi Moore’s corpse.
