James Gunn Debunks Wonder Woman Casting Rumors About This Is Going To Replace Gal Gadot In The Dcu ( Photo Credit – Wikimedia; IMDb )
After taking over the DC Studios, James Gunn and Peter Safran made many changes. Some of the major ones included not signing back the existing actors—most notably Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot as Superman and Wonder Woman, respectively. However, the co-heads did announce the TV show Paradise Lost, and Diana Prince had a significant role in that.
There had been a rumor that Gunn wants this The Crown star to play the role of the Amazonian princess in the new DC Universe, taking over Gal Gadot. The Israeli actress received a lot of love and admiration as Wonder Woman in the former Dcu. She made her first appearance in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. She then got her solo film, which did well at the theatres.

In his first single since his chart-topping fourth studio album A Gift & a Curse, Gunna lays his latest hopes and fears bare. “Bittersweet” is pensive and stripped back, with the Atlanta Mc laying stream-of-consciousness raps down over sentimental guitar and subtle percussion from producers Dystinkt Beats and 1Srael, the latter of the the popular Philadelphia beat-smiths Working on Dying.

Justine Triet’s acclaimed French courtroom drama Anatomy of a Fall has won best film at the 2023 European Film Awards, held Saturday evening, Dec. 9 in Berlin.
Sandra Hüller, a double nominee in the best actress category, won for her barnstorming turn in Anatomy of a Fall as a writer who may have killed her husband.
Accepting her prize, Hüller, speaking to the various conflicts raging in and around Europe at the moment, called for a moment of silence from the audience to “silently, strongly, vividly, imagine peace.”
Justine Triet took the best directing honor for Anatomy and shared the best screenplay honor with Arthur Harari for their joint script to the twisty murder mystery. A couple in real life, Triet and Harari said writing the script, which is a piercing dissection of a marriage in crisis, “put our relationship to the test but thankfully we survived.”

As cute and understuffed as the plushies alluded to by its title, Kristin Gore and Damian Kulash, Jr.’s “The Beanie Bubble” is a dramatic comedy born from the collision between two different fads: The Beanie Baby mania of the late ’90s, and the corporate biopic craze of the early 2020s.
Like “Air,” “Barbie,” “Blackberry,” and “Tetris” before it (remember when they made a movie about the thrilling race to patent “Tetris?”), this Apple TV+ original uses a footnote in the recent history of North American capitalism as the backdrop for a character-driven saga about the nature of success. And like several of those aforementioned stories of riches gained and/or lost, “The Beanie Bubble” ultimately says more about the state of the film business than it does any other. It says that we used to tell stories about people, but now we’d rather tell stories about products — even...

Barack Obama: Studios “Wouldn’t Be Around If It Weren’t for Writers,” Says He’s “Hopeful” About Deal
Former President Barack Obama said he was “hopeful” that writers would get “a fair share of the fruits of their labor” as a result of the ongoing writers strike.
During a live-streamed interview with Ira Glass in Washington, D.C., to promote his Netflix docuseries, Working, Obama opened up the conversation by sharing his support for the writers on strike.
“I know there are many studios and streamers who feel a little bit embattled and there’s been a little bit too much of a glut of product and they’re looking at their bottom line and their experiencing shareholder pressure,” Obama said, “but the fact is, is that they wouldn’t be around if it weren’t for writers creating the stories that matter. My hope is that as somebody who’s really supportive of the Writers Guild and as someone who just believes in storytelling and the craft of it,...

While the U.K. is set to shed the last of its pandemic restrictions — including the requirement to self-isolate if testing positive for Covid-19 — the film and TV industry will continue to abide by Covid protocols for now, Variety has confirmed.
Part of the reason for this is because the end to pandemic restrictions will not be universally implemented across all four nations of the U.K. While the rules on self-isolation lift in England and Northern Ireland from Thursday (Feb. 24), in Scotland and Wales it remains enshrined in law that anyone testing positive for Covid-19 must self-isolate.
The British Film Commission (Bfc) says that while it plans to update its “Working Safely During Covid-19 in Film and High-end TV Drama Production” from Thursday to incorporate the changes to self-isolation rules, it will include the government’s guidance that anyone testing positive in England and Northern Ireland is still “advised” to self-isolate,...

Heretic, the Athens-based boutique production company and sales agent, has acquired world sales rights for “Working Class Heroes,” by director Miloš Pušić, which will have its premiere in the Berlin Film Festival’s Panorama strand. Variety has also been given exclusive access to the film’s trailer.
Starring award-winning Serbian actress Jasna Đuričić, who played the lead role in Jasmila Žbanić’s Oscar-nominated “Quo Vadis, Aida?,” “Working Class Heroes” follows a cold-hearted businesswoman working for a construction investor of dubious morals. Her main task is to oversee the illegal workers on the construction site and protect the image of the company at all costs.
But as they are brought face to face with the brutal reality of capitalism, the unpaid and exhausted workers have to take their fate in their own hands. When they decide to stand up for their rights, the construction site becomes the setting for a clash of social classes and morals.

Talks are set to begin on Monday between the Writers Guild of America West and Constantin Film over a residuals dispute that led to union leaders calling on members to boycott the company, the German mini-major says.

Exclusive: “The film talks about an end of days…in a way, it’s a companion piece to The Irishman,” Luca Guadagnino says about Sundance documentary The Truffle Hunters, on which he is an executive producer.
Martin Scorsese’s $150m mob epic wasn’t the first movie that came to mind after watching the intimate documentary about elderly Truffle hunters in northern Italy. My thoughts went to Michelangelo Frammartino’s Le Quattro Volte and Cosima Spender’s Palio. But Guadagnino is right in a sense.
“The Truffle Hunters is about a group at the end of their lives who see their world fading and their place in reality increasingly on the boundaries,” the filmmaker observes. “At the same time, the aggression of the new goes over their heads. It’s about mortality and approaching death. The image of the hunter who doesn’t want to hunt any more reminds me...

When the term character actor is used in film discourse, Willem Dafoe is one of the most common actors to come to the collective mind of cinephiles. However, he is, and always has been, a leading man who simply isn’t deterred by the size, or lack thereof, of a given role to which he connects. […]

Janelle Monáe doesn’t “live [her] life in a binary way.” Therefore, she doesn’t look at her body of work as being a musician first and an actor second, or vice versa. Instead, she just wants to “tell stories that need to be told,” she said at the Television Critics Assn. press tour panel for her upcoming season of “Homecoming” on Amazon Prime Video.
“I consider myself a storyteller and when I saw Season 1 and I listened to the podcast, I was a fan,” Monáe said of her new gig. “I’ve always tried to get rid of all of those things — any labels — and work on my journey, wherever that may be. I do feel like I am an experience, I am on self-discovery, and I just want to continue to show love to everyone who continues to live outside of the binary.”

Joe Pantoliano, affectionately known as “Joey Pants” to many, wears his roles like few others from his generation. His breakout role was in 1983’s Risky Business, with the indelible role of “Guido the Pimp”, and from there he consistently made films and shows better with his very appearance. He often plays wise-cracking, quick-to anger characters […]
