Every ‘Final Destination’ Movie Ranked, Including ‘Final Destination Bloodlines’
Image
Death always finds a way.

This was the central conceit of “Final Destination,” a 2000 horror movie, released just past the slasher movie renaissance that began with “Scream” in 1995, that went on to have a uniquely satisfying run all its own. Each movie starts with a group of strangers narrowly avoiding calamity, with the rest of the runtime filled with death eagerly hunting them through ingenious accidents. The latest film, “Final Destination Bloodlines,” was originally earmarked for a streaming debut but has mercifully shifted into a theatrical event – the kind of movie that you laugh and scream along with a packed auditorium full of similarly anxious strangers.

In honor of “Final Destination Bloodlines” and in celebration of one of the most creative horror franchises of all time, we’re going through the entire series – ranking the movies from the worst to the bloody best.

New Line Cinema 6. “The Final Destination” (2009)

Everything Coming to Hulu and Disney+ in June
Image
While the Max rebrand back to HBO Max has the streaming world in a tizzy, it’s worth remembering the significance of keeping diverse subscriptions. While “Hacks” and “The Last of Us” wrap up over on that side of your library, the Hulu and Disney bundle is essential for maximizing this summer’s offerings.

Disney+ continues to be the go-to streamer for family friendly viewing options; this month, they’ll add the official “Frozen” Broadway musical to that library, along with Marvel’s “Ironheart,” about Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) who was introduced in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”

Hulu has everything you need for an “Alien” movie marathon, all to gear up for FX’s “Alien: Earth” which premieres in August. You could also do a “Mamma Mia!” marathon or “Bachelor” binge — we’re not here to judge.

Top Pick: “The Bear” Season 4 (Available on Hulu)

This Made-for-Television Remake Is a Hidden Horror Gem, and Now It’s Streaming For Free
Image
Kids are kind of dumb. Remember when you and your friends thought it was funny to prank call the police, not realizing they could see the number and easily call you back? That’s mostly innocuous, but it was also a rite of passage. I’m not sure the adolescent phase of prank calling still endures or not, but since the advent of home telephones, kids and teens loved picking up the phone and pranking friends and foes alike. The entire Scream franchise is basically the most terrifying prank call in history (except it’s no joke).

The phenomenon wasn’t just limited to the 1980s and 1990s, either. Way back in 1965, William Castle directed Joan Crawford in I Saw What You Did, a cheap yet fantastic thriller about two young girls pranking random numbers, calling and saying, “I saw what you did, and I know who you are.” Unfortunately,...

2022 Mystery Movie Taylor Swift Wrote A Song For Is Now A Hit On Streaming
Image
A 2022 biographical mystery film featuring a moody Taylor Swift song is now a hit on streaming. The pop superstar conquered the world of cinema when her 2023 performance documentary The Eras Tour soared at the box office, becoming the highest-grossing concert film of all-time with $261 million in worldwide grosses.

The unstoppable Swift may indeed bring in moviegoers with films of her blockbuster concerts, but her proper acting performances have been notably less successful in boosting ticket sales. The all-star Valentine’s Day did well enough, grossing $216 million, but Swift's supporting role in The Giver failed to supercharge that film’s box office ($67 million), and Cats and Amsterdam were outright flops ($75.5 million and $31 million respectively). Swift’s presence on a soundtrack may indeed be worth more to a film than her actual on-screen contributions, as demonstrated by a 2022 mystery movie for which she contributed a song.

Swift’s Song Carolina Graces Where The Crawdads Sing,...

Jenna Ortega’s Polarizing New Thriller Debuts To Drastically Different Critics & Audience Scores On Rotten Tomatoes
Image
Jenna Ortega has been in the film and TV industry since she was a young child, but her career has taken off in the last few years. On the TV side, this was through her starring role in the Netflix Addams Familyseries Wednesday, which debuted in 2022 and is getting season 2 later this year. On the film side, a significant part of her career has been spent acting in horror films, as Scream, Scream VI, and X have solidified her screamqueen status.

Ortega has acted in her fair share of non-horror dramas over the years. She delivered a stirring performance as a high school student living through the aftermath of a tragic event in The Fallout. She was also in the movie Miller's Girl, which made waves (many negative) upon its release due to the portrayal of an age-gap relationship. Movies like these help show off Ortega's depth as an actor,...

‘Hurry Up Tomorrow’ Cast and Storyline: This is Jenna Ortega’s Worst Movie, Barry Keoghan Hits Major Setback After Saltburn
Image
When Hurry Up Tomorrow was originally announced, entertainment geeks were pumped for one major reason: The star-studded cast that this flick was reported to be sporting. This was especially true since it included the likes of celebrities who are currently riding high tides of fame and success, like Jenna Ortega, Barry Keoghan, and even The Weeknd, aka Abel Tesfaye.

As iconic as that cast looks, one might expect the thriller to be something of a masterpiece itself. However, that was hardly the case, as the flick recently debuted on the big screens with a brutally critical score, proving to be Ortega’s worst movie and Keoghan’s major setback after Saltburn. Here’s all you need to know about the cast and storyline of the same.

Hurry Up Tomorrow reactions paint it as egomaniacal vanity project for The Weeknd
Everybody’s workin’ for the weekend – and some, like The Weeknd, are in overdrive, with the singer at the forefront of Hurry Up Tomorrow, a movie tie-in to his album of the same name. So what are people saying about the movie ahead of its wide release this week?

For starters, our own editor-in-chief Chris Bumbray has labeled Hurry Up Tomorrow a shameless vanity project for The Weeknd, although he might want to give Guinness a call…As he put it after a recent screening, the movie “sets a record for the amount of times a lead actor cries in a movie. The Weeknd literally cries a gallon of tears. I laughed uncontrollably during the climax. And he has the audacity to play himself. No one loves The Weeknd as much as The Weeknd!”

Final Destination Bloodlines Review — Gory, Twisted, and Thoroughly Entertaining
Image
Plenty of legacy sequels have attempted to bring back past franchises with a more modern sensibility, but only a few have had more than one “second chance,” and it’s pretty fitting that Final Destination is one of those series that keeps cheating death. Final Destination Bloodlines, the second revival of the 2000s horror franchise, is a glorious return to form, offering plenty of laughs and a ton of twisted mayhem — precisely what audiences want from these films.

Final Destination Bloodlines Review

With a story by Jon Watts (the Tom Holland Spider-Man trilogy), Guy Busick (the new Scream movies), and Lori Evans Taylor, Final Destination Bloodlines offers an interesting twist on the familiar formula — after a group of people “cheated Death” by surviving a would-be tragic accident when someone has a premonition, they find themselves dying in increasingly peculiar ways. But this time, it’s not just the survivors that...

This popular horror game just got a disappointing update
Image
If you've enjoyed running from Leatherface (or playing as him) in the tense multiplayer survival horror game The Texas Chain Saw Massacre developed by Sumo Nottingham and later Black Tower Studios, you might be saddened to learn that after the next update, there won't be any new content coming to the game.

On May 13, game publisher Gun Interactive shared a post confirming that the game will not receive any further support or content, specifically there will not be anymore "Dlc, balance updates, or bug fixes, after our upcoming May patch."

Why this decision? According to the post, the publishers feel that the game has reached its final stages and is now "fully realized."

But if you still enjoy playing the game and aren't ready to say goodbye yet, don't worry. It will still be playable for the foreeable future. Gun Interactive says it is not being delisted and will still be playable.

Final Destination | The slasher franchise where God is the murderer
Image
With its latest sequel in cinemas, we look back at the dark concept that has turned Final Destination into a 25-year-old franchise.

Nb: The following contains spoilers for Final Destination (2000).

There’s a scene early in Final Destination where protagonist Alex (Devon Sawa) gets on a busy plane to Paris, and his best friend Todd (Chad Donella) looks around at the other passengers. In a misguided attempt to ease Alex’s fear of flying, Todd nods to a baby and says something to the effect of, “That’s a good sign – the younger the better. It’d be a fucked-up God to take down this plane.”

It’s a disposable-sounding line that, in retrospect, sums up the terrifying universe that Final Destination has built up over its 25 years as a film franchise. From the earliest scenes in director James Wong’s horror, released in 2000, it establishes a plane of existence...

'Scream' Star Neve Campbell Cast in X-Men '97' as Magneto's Daughter Polaris
Image
After a day of rumors involving Neve Campbell joining the X-Men franchise, it has finally been confirmed that she is joining the cast of X-Men '97. On May 12, 2025, rumors began to circulate that Scream star Neve Campbell had been cast as the mutant Polaris, in either Avengers: Doomsday or the upcoming X-Men reboot Marvel Studios is planning. However, with the X-Men reboot only now hiring a director, that felt unlikely. Meanwhile, others questioned why Avengers: Doomsday would introduce a new character in what already looks like a stacked cast.

Now, Comic Book Movie is reporting that Neve Campbell has, in fact, been cast as Polaris, but instead of playing the character in live-action, she will voice her in X-Men '97. Former X-Men '97 showrunner Beau DeMayo confirmed this news on X, saying he cast her for Season 2 while still on the series. Despite DeMayo being fired from X-Men '97 for inappropriate workplace behavior,...

‘Final Destination Bloodlines’ Review – Death’s New Cycle Favors Fun Over Suspense
Image
Death begins a new cycle in Final Destination Bloodlines, the sixth entry of the film series that’s known for its elaborate Rube Goldberg machine-style deaths. The catch here is that Death may be more ambitious than ever, aiming to snuff out an entire family’s bloodline after its matriarch evaded its grasp decades prior.

That presents clear shifts in the Final Destination formula, including an emphasis on its family theme and a dedication to lighthearted fun over palpable, drawn-out suspense. Death’s daunting ambition is more impressive in scope than in execution, though.

Bloodlines kicks off with the requisite inciting catastrophe that sees one woman, Iris (Brec Bassinger), embarking on an exciting new chapter of her life at the opening of the Skyview Restaurant Tower. What should be the happiest day of her life instead turns into a brutal nightmare when a chain of events, beginning with a small,...

Jack Quaid Couldn’t Really Hide His Swollen Nose While Working With Jennifer Lawrence in ‘The Hunger Games’
Image
Jack Quaid is making waves in Hollywood these days. Be it his stellar performance in movies like Oppenheimer, Companion, Scream, or blockbuster series like The Boys, the 33-year-old actor has been the talk of the town recently.

His new movie, Novocaine, too, has only added to his magnificent repertoire due to the mastery he has shown over his acting skills, even while presented with such a unique premise. Interestingly though, this wasn’t the first time the actor had to get bloody for his role in a movie.

While Novocaine and even The Boys had plenty of sequences where Jack Quaid looked battered on camera, his first movie, The Hunger Games, with Jennifer Lawrence, left him with an injury that even the heavy special effects couldn’t hide it from fans.

Neve Campbell Confirmed To Voice Polaris In X-men '97 Season 2
Image
Yesterday, we reported on a rumor that Scream star Neve Campbell had been cast as Polaris in an upcoming Marvel project. We didn't have much more to go on initially, but it was assumed that she would wither play the character in Marvel Studios' X-Men reboot, or appear in Avengers: Doomsday alongside the returning 20th Century Fox era actors.

A trusted source later reached out to tell us that Campbell would actually be voicing Polaris in season 2 of the X-Men '97 animated series, which former showrunner Beau DeMayo has now confirmed.

Incorrect. I cast her as Polaris in Season 2 of #xmen97. She does amazing work bringing something new, and felt right to have a 90s icon pick up where Lorna’s story was left in “Cold Comfort.”

She’s got some thoughts on Genosha. https://t.co/WKrSbghWsu

Matthew Lillard, the star of films like 1996's Scream and Five Nights at Freddy's, is seeing a much-deserved resurgence in his career, especially in the horror sphere. The Lillard resurgence continues in 2026, as he will reprise his role as Stu Macher in the upcoming Scream 7, and then he will dive deep into the world of Stephen King. Lillard has been cast in the upcoming adaptation of King's debut novel, Carrie, and the actor has shared a few details about this TV version helmed by none other than modern horror master Mike Flanagan.

Currently promoting his line of spirit drinks, Lillard spoke to Comic Book, and he found an opportunity to talk about his involvement in Carrie in a role that still hasn't been revealed. Tony Todd's Incredible Final Destination Bloodlines Monologue Has A Deeper Meaning Than You Realized
Image
As a baby bat growing up, my mother loved introducing me to horror movies, especially slashers. The first time I watched "A Nightmare on Elm Street," she couldn't wait to tell me about seeing it with her best friend in their 20s and being scared out of their wits walking home from the theater on a foggy night. When my babysitter bought a Chucky doll, my mom used that as the launchpad to introduce me to the "Child's Play" films. Even as I was haunted by commercials as a kid for the at-the-time new slasher flick "Scream," my introduction to so many staple horror franchises wasn't by my own discovery but something cool my mom showed me. That all changed when I first saw "Final Destination," a suggestion from the teenager who worked behind the counter at my local video store and knew I was a fiend for horror movies.

Rumor: Scream Star Neve Campbell Has Been Cast As Polaris In MCU X-men Reboot
Image
Following the recent news that Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier is in early talks to helm Marvel Studios' X-Men, we have a casting rumor relating to a popular mutant character who has yet to appear on the big screen.

According to scooper Mttsh, Scream star Neve Campbell has been cast as Polaris.

There have been numerous rumors claiming that certain actors are being eyed for specific roles in the movie, but this is the first time we've heard that someone has actually been cast.

Dr. Lorna Sally Dane, aka Polaris, was introduced in the late '60s, before being revealed to be Magneto's daughter many years later. She has similar powers to her father, and suffers from mental health issues which frequently lead to her losing control and turning on her fellow mutant heroes. She has also been known as Malice, and one of Apocalypse's Four Horsemen, Pestilence.

'Tucker & Dale vs. Evil' Director Says David Zaslav Killed Spin-off TV Series
Image
Tucker & Dale vs. Evildirector Eli Craig has admitted that the kill count is extremely high when it comes to making a follow-up to his 2010 cult horror comedy. There have been several attempts to bring Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine's backwoods buddies back to the screen, but he says every idea has been killed off "for one reason or another." Among the projects was a spin-off TV series that was canceled ahead of production by Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav.

In an interview with SlashFilm, Craig revealed that Tucker & Dale vs. Evil nearly spawned a TV series that would have turned the movie's titular hillbillies into a pair of affable detectives, "trying to figure out what's happening in a world where they're always getting it wrong and people are dying around them." The project made significant strides towards production, but was canned by Zaslav, who has been involved...

'Scream' Star Jamie Kennedy Says Melissa Barrera Should Not Have Been Fired for Her Beliefs
Image
Jamie Kennedy, the star who played Randy Meeks in the Scream franchise, says that Melissa Barrera, the actor who played Sam Carpenter in 2022's Scream and Scream VI, should never have been fired during pre-production of Scream 7. Barrera was removed from her lead role in the film after she made social media posts denouncing Israel's actions in the Gaza war, and the studio backing the project decided to part ways with her.

Kennedy appeared on Fox News Digital to talk about cancel culture: "I think the whole idea, the term 'cancel'...Think how insane that term is. Like, 'Hey, you know what? We don't like what you said. Canceled.' Like, you talk about inclusive. That's like the most uninclusive thing of all time." It was there that he addressed the issue with Barrera’' removal from the upcoming horror sequel Scream 7:

"She should have never been fired.

'100% Cancel Culture': Scream Legacy Star Condemns Melissa Barrera's Controversial Firing
Image
Though Scream 7 is closer to its anticipated release after being knee-deep into production, the fallout from the firing of Melissa Barrera still lingers over the titular slasher franchise. One of Scream's legacy stars is the latest to voice his displeasure with the handling of Barrera's exit, chalking up the decision to "100%...cancel culture."

Speaking with Fox News Digital, Kennedy expressed his anger with Barrera's 2023 firing from the Scream film series after her social media posts about the Israel-Hamas conflict. Kennedy, who portrayed Sidney Prescott's (Neve Campbell) admirer, Randy Meeks, in the first two Scream movies, echoed previous sentiments that firing Barrera from Scream 7 was a bad move, believing she was harshly judged for speaking up on a significant social issue.

“She should have never been fired. She has her beliefs, Ok? She’s allowed to have her beliefs. Other people on set have other beliefs. This is,...

Image
It's a fantastic day for horror enthusiasts, particularly fans of the slasher genre. Today, one of the most iconic horror franchises of all time celebrates an impressive milestone. Friday the 13th has terrified and thrilled audiences for 45 years! It's the franchise's 45th anniversary, meaning it's been 45 years since the original 1980 movie first introduced us to Camp Crystal Lake and the unforgettable horror legend, Jason Voorhees.

What started as a modest, low-budget slasher quickly exploded into a full-blown pop culture juggernaut, spanning 12 films, inspiring countless Halloween costumes, video games, comic books, merchandise, and giving rise to one of the most iconic figures in horror movie history. There wouldn't be slashers like Scream or even Terrifier without the blood-soaked trail Friday the 13th blazed through the genre. Its legacy shaped the slasher blueprint that filmmakers still follow today, where isolated settings, masked killers, and shocking and brutal kills became genre staples.

Friday the 13th...

“She Should Have Never Been Fired”: A ‘Scream’ Legacy Actor Jumps To Melissa Barrera’s Defense
Image
For the first time since Melissa Barrera’s firing from Scream 7, a legacy actor is stepping forward to show her some support. Swinging by Fox News Digital, comedian and Scream alum, Jamie Kennedy, was eager to speak out about the actress’ political views, which got her canned from the upcoming installment of the slasher franchise. Referring to the studio’s decision as “100%... cancel culture,” the actor continued,

“She should have never been fired. She has her beliefs, Ok? She’s allowed to have her beliefs. Other people on set have other beliefs. This is, you know, it’s the most difficult subject — one of the most difficult subjects to discuss right now in modern times. And she’s brave enough to put her beliefs out there. If you don’t like them, call her up. Talk to her… I had never seen that in terms of like a star so hot,...

We know that Scream VII is set to be released on February 27, 2026 and is now being filmed, with many former starts, including Neve Campbell, returning. But the upcoming film might not be the last one with Campbell in the main role.

This Modern Classic Monster Movie is Now Streaming: “Tight, fun, vicious, and brimming with practical FX”
Image
You know what movie fans love doing? They love demanding more original movies yet failing to show up to auditoriums whenever those original movies do release. Why is Heart Eyes, the freshest slasher this side of Scream released in years, sitting at a worldwide gross of just $32 million? How did Cuckoo, a “bold, stylish, exquisitely fun” Neon release, only manage $6.7 million? M3GAN 2.0 is gonna make bank, I guarantee it, and I guess that’s just the world we live in. Not that I’m begrudging that loveable little robot her acclaim, but I’d love to see more original titles cross that threshold into uber-profitability. After all, the more original horror performs well, the more original horror we get.

I’m not really that mad. To each their own, but you’ll forgive me for getting in my feelings. After all, this past weekend, I watched arguably the greatest monster movie released this century.

This Classic 90s Slasher Is Now Streaming on Netflix!
Image
The horror scene post-1996 was really just every studio under the sun trying to recapture the lightning-in-a-bottle success of Scream. It wasn’t enough to be scary anymore—there needed to be an undercurrent of cleverness to ground the horror. The Faculty, Urban Legend, and franchise favorite Halloween H20 were all Scream riffs, and several of those boasted the involvement Scream scribe Kevin Williamson himself.

Of course, his most famous post-Scream writing credit was actually written long before he sold the spec script for what would become a legacy horror franchise. I’m talking about I Know What You Did Last Summer, an adaptation of Lois Duncan’s novel of the same name, though the source author famously (and reasonably) rejects the adaptation. With a new trailer for the forthcoming legacy sequel, also titled I Know What You Did Last Summer (Halloween (2018) really was influential, huh), why not revisit...

The Long Walk trailer: Stephen King adaptation reaches theatres in September
Image
Last year, an adaptation of the Stephen King novel The Long Walk (which was, like The Running Man and Thinner, published under the pen name Richard Bachman) went into production, with director Francis Lawrence, whose previous credits include Constantine, I Am Legend, Water for Elephants, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Parts 1 and 2, Red Sparrow, Slumberland, and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, at the helm. Lionsgate will be releasing the film on September 12th – and today, the first trailer for The Long Walk has dropped online! You can check it out in the embed above.

An adaptation of The Long Walk has been trudging through development hell for decades. At one point, the rights were in the hands of Frank Darabont, who made the King adaptations The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, and The Mist. Then the rights passed over to New Line Cinema,...

‘Clown in a Cornfield’ Review: An Old-Fashioned Slasher That Doesn’t Take Itself Seriously
Image
In the three decades since the kids in Scream sat around explaining the rules of slasher movies, the genre has been deconstructed to the point where it can feel like there isn’t a whole lot left to subvert or satirize. And while some filmmakers are still finding fresh ways to reinvent it—most recently Jt Mollner’s Strange Darling and Chris Nash’s In a Violent Nature—there’s also a lot to be said for not getting too cute about this stuff. Eli Craig’s Clown in a Cornfield works precisely because it plays things straight, offering a nod and a wink to the genre’s rules while adhering to them in order to deliver a simple, satisfying slasher.

Based on Adam Cesare’s 2020 young-adult horror novel, the film begins with Quinn (Katie Douglas) and her father, Dr. Maybrook (Aaron Abrams), moving to Kettle Springs, Missouri. She quickly...
