“Oh! Darling” was released in 1969 on Abbey Road, the last album The Beatles recorded. Written and sung by Paul McCartney, the song was a nod to a more ‘50s sound, despite all the experimental, futuristic work the band had produced in recent years. It’s one of McCartney’s best-performed songs. But John felt he could have done it better.

McCartney actually first presented “Oh! Darling” during what eventually came to be known as the “Get Back” sessions. McCartney shared the rock-n-roll ballad he’d written, and it was well-received. “The chord structure is very nice,” said George Harrison of the song. “It’s typical of a 1955-type song.”

Hulu has picked up to series two pilots, femme fatale thriller Reprisal and Elle Fanning-fronted period drama The Great. The digital platform announced the orders at TCA.
Reprisal comes from The Handmaid’s Tale exec producer Warren Littlefield. Written by Josh Corbin (StartUp), the show is a hyper-kinetic revenge tale following a relentless femme fatale who, after being left for dead, leads a vengeful campaign against a bombastic gang of gearheads.
The drama stars Abigail Spencer in the lead role alongside Rodrigo Santoro, Mena Massoud, Madison Davenport, Rhys Wakefield, David Dastmalchian, W. Earl Brown and Gilbert Owuor. The pilot was directed by Jonathan Van Tulleken (Off Season), who will exec produce the series, which is produced by A+E Studios and The Littlefield Company. Ann Johnson and Graham Littlefield serve as co-executive producers.
The series order comes after production on the pilot stalled in September as a result of Hurricane Florence.

Shameless is getting serious about Fiona and Ford’s relationship: The Showtime series has promoted Richard Flood, who plays Fi’s Irish carpenter boyfriend, to series regular for Season 9, our sister site Deadline reports.
At the close of Season 8, Fiona confronted Ford about the state of their romance, after which he told her that he doesn’t fall in love like a teenager. When that happens, “you actually take space and time to get to know somebody for who they are, as opposed to what they represent for you,” showrunner Nancy Pimental told TVLine. “So it’s really good for her.

Rafe Spall (The Big Short), Mad Men alum John Slattery and Fargo standout Allison Tolman are set as the leads in Hulu’s political, dystopian half-hour comedy pilot Kansas City, from Amblin TV and Sony Pictures TV.
Set in Kansas City, the single-camera project, which has yet to get a formal pilot greenlight but already is in production, was written by Zev Borow (Lethal Weapon), with Rhys Thomas (Comrade Detective) set to direct.
Kansas City is set in a future where the city is separated by a wall between liberals and conservatives. Absurd misinformation and enmity rage as the two cities aim to undermine each other. In West Kansas City, political heavyweight Ellis Brookmeyer (Slattery) holds sway. His former son-in-law, Ben Graham (Spall), lives in East K.C. and yearns to be reunited with his daughter Clarissa (who lives in West K.C.). To accomplish this Ben gets involved with an East K.

Hulu is looking to find comedy in a politically divided world.
The streamer is near a deal for the comedy pilot Kansas City and, ahead of its official pickup, has locked in John Slattery, Allison Tolman and Rafe Spall to star.
From writer Zev Borow (Chuck), Kansas City is set in a modern U.S. riven by cultural and political divisions, so much so that it has chosen to split itself into two nations. One Missouri city, however, was too evenly divided to align with either side, so Kansas City split in two: the liberal East K.C. and conservative ...
