Ryan Gosling is not a dumbass; heh heh, heh, heh heh heh, heh! Thanks in large part to a “Beavis and Butt-Head” sketch that went viral, Gosling’s “Saturday Night Live” episode is the most-watched “SNL” since late 2021.
Counting one week’s worth of delayed viewing (which is fine and normal but really helps when something goes viral) and all platforms, the April 13, 2024 telecast of “SNL” drew 8.9 million total viewers, according to NBC. That’s the most since Billie Eilish hosted the program on December 11, 2021.
The Gosling episode, for which he was promoting film “The Fall Guy,” is the most-watched “SNL” episode ever on Peacock. Gosling’s musical guest was Chris Stapleton.
On YouTube, 46 million users have “viewed a portion of the episode,” NBC said, the most since 2020. That’s an important specificity given the viral nature of the “Beavis and Butt-Head” sketch. In all, there were 170 million social-video views...

"I believe you have my stapler." Odds are, the majority of people who enjoy comedy films would be able to tell you that quote is from "Office Space." Directed by "Beavis and Butthead" creator Mike Judge, it was his first live-action feature and would probably rank near the top of any list of things he's made if one were to conduct an informal survey of his fans. That's the way it is now. In 1999 when the film first hit theaters? Not so much. "Office Space" majorly disappointed against high expectations and, at least at first, seemed like it was going to be forgotten to time. Then a straight-up cult developed around the workplace comedy and it's now a part of the fabric of popular culture.

Three decades after they were first introduced in the short film “Frog Baseball” and almost a dozen years after the first revival of their eponymous MTV show concluded, cartoon characters Beavis and Butt-Head returned for a Paramount Plus reboot series in August 2022. Whether it will continue past its first two seasons has yet to be decided, but it certainly has been well-received, as was the 2022 TV movie “Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe.” At this point in the “Beavis and Butt-Head” franchise’s existence, no entry has ever attracted the attention of Emmy voters, but the time is right for that to change.
“Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe,” which dropped on Paramount Plus six weeks before the new series premiered, serves as a sequel to the 1996 theatrical film “Beavis and Butt-Head Do America.” The plot revolves around the titular teenage dullards traveling through time and coming into contact with...

With its list of new releases for May 2023, Amazon Prime Video is increasing its global reach.
The streamer’s biggest original offering this month is a German series. Hohlbeins’ – The Gryphon, based on the works of Wolfgang Holhlbein, will present a sprawling fantasy tale about three teens discovering a fantastical world called The Black Tower where “the Gryphon, a world-devouring monster, mercilessly subjugates all living creatures.”
The only other original title of note in May is Freevee comedy Primo on the 19th. Written by author and journalist Shea Serrano and produced by Michael Schur (The Good Place), this coming-of-age series will follow a teenager balancing “college aspirations, societal expectations, and a hectic home life on the south side of San Antonio.”

The first two episodes will premiere April 20 in the U.S. and Canada, and in Australia and the U.K. on Friday, April 21, with further international markets to follow.
In the second season, Beavis and Butt-Head return as, natch, two guys who like things that are cool and hate things that suck.
Created and voiced by writer, producer and director Mike Judge, the characters originated in Judge’s 1992 short film Frog Baseball, which was broadcast by MTV’s animation showcase “Liquid Television.” After MTV commissioned a full series around the characters, Beavis and Butt-Head ran for seven seasons from 1993 to 1997. If you weren’t alive in the nineties, it’s hard to do justice to just how popular Beavis and Butt-Head were. Their MTV show was cutting-edge stuff, notably, because the two Mike Judges creations often mocked the very same artists the network had only years earlier played to great success (just ask Kip Winger).
In the show, Beavis and Butt-Head’s adventures were intermingled with them providing commentary on music videos, something which would eventually be phased out as the brand grew in popularity beyond MTV. It was all part of MTV’s strategy to branch out beyond music videos, with its launch coinciding with The Real World and the start of MTV Films. The latter, of course, wanted to turn the teenaged animated phenomenon into a movie. After years of prodding, Mike Judge finally agreed to make Beavis and Butt-Head Do America. A Christmas of 1996 release, the film was a sizeable hit,...

Thirty years ago, an obscure Texas filmmaker named Mike Judge created the animated short Frog Baseball, in which two heavy metal-obsessed teenagers named Beavis and Butt-Head brutalize an amphibian with a baseball bat. It didn’t seem like anything especially brilliant at the time, especially since it ends with them viciously attacking a poodle, but it somehow gave birth to one of the most beloved shows in MTV history.

Cue the chuckling. Cue classic ’90s theme. And, of course, cue the fire because Beavis and Butt-Head are back with an all-new series.
The first look at Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head on Paramount+ has arrived, and it starts with a bang — or should that be flame?
Introduced at San Diego Comic-Con during the series’ panel Thursday night, the story in the clip from the episode titled “The Special One,” revolves around Beavis happening upon a dumpster fire, which transforms into an entity that gives the bonehead teen orders. But instead of telling him to destroy or wreak havoc, the flame entity has him do positive activities, like run a mile for some exercise and then clean up the alleyway. The final ask is just too much for Beavis, and he finally has to turn his back on his obsession.

Created and voiced by Mike Judge in 1992 for the MTV animated anthology series “Liquid Television,” Beavis and Butt-Head are two teenage slackers who share an extreme libido and complete inability to attract women. The characters proved popular enough to launch their own spinoff series, which ran for 200 episodes across seven seasons. The show sees the pair embark on various half-baked schemes, as well as mock contemporary music videos that aired on MTV. The series launched another popular spin-off series “Daria,” starring the character voiced by Tracy Grandstaff, and was revived for an extra season on MTV in 2011.

The show sees the pair embark on various half-baked schemes, as well as mock contemporary music videos that aired on MTV. The series launched another popular spin-off series “Daria,” starring the character voiced by Tracy Grandstaff, and was revived for an extra season on MTV in 2011.
The news of the revival comes shortly after the...

It’s been 26 years since “Beavis and Butt-Head Do America” landed in theaters at the peak of the animated idiots’ popularity. Of course, it was a box office hit. If you were around at the time, then you know what a big deal it was. A lot has changed since then, but, in some ways, very little has changed. “Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe,” the puerile pairing’s second full-length feature, premieres on Paramount+ ahead of a new series that will land on the streamer this fall.

“Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe” is only the second Beavis and Butt-Head movie — after “Beavis and Butt-Head Do America,” which came out (are you ready to feel old?) in 1996. That’s a long time to put a franchise about the world’s dumbest, horniest, and most meta teenage metal-heads on hold. But I’m not sure that the world was clamoring for another Beavis and Butt-Head movie, and this one isn’t exactly the “Top Gun: Maverick” of B & B-Head sequels. It is, however, a shaggy, snark-infused lark that’s likable enough to get by. The first movie, amusing as some of it was, never found the cultural foothold that “South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut” did, and the reason is that Beavis and Butt-Head were most at home on their MTV series, a form that mirrored their fractured attention spans — and that allowed them, of course, to critique music videos,...

I’m old enough to remember when Beavis and Butt-Head premiered on MTV back in 1993 and certain pundits greeted the misadventures of these two fire-loving, TV-obsessed juvenile delinquents as a sign of the pending cultural apocalypse. The characters were either a warning cry about a generation raised and desensitized by music videos or, worse, they were a potential inspiration for impressionable young viewers.
Those pundits didn’t understand the satirical edge of Mike Judge’s animated comedy, but if we’re being perfectly honest, neither did a lot of the show’s fans.
Nearly 30 years later, Beavis and Butt-Head are returning for a new run of episodes on Paramount+, preceded by the feature-length Beavis and Butt-head Do the Universe and one thing is shockingly clear: Beavis and Butt-Head may be puerile to a dangerous degree, but as alienated loners — at least they have...

Since his breakthrough in the early 1990s, Mike Judge has been responsible for some of the most beloved projects in pop culture history. The man has given the world a multitude of gifts, including the films "Office Space," "Idiocracy," and "Extract," in addition to the series "Silicon Valley," and "King of the Hill." However, it's Judge's landmark series "Beavis and Butt-Head" that he is perhaps most synonymous with creating. For eight seasons, 222 episodes, and the feature film "Beavis and Butt-Head Do America" the titular teens served as idiotic arbiters of pop culture, and provided a perfectly vulgar satire...

Paramount has revealed an official trailer for Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe, the surprise Beavis & Butt-Head revival from Mike Judge. Written & directed by Judge, the creator of the duo and director of the last Beavis and Butt-Head Do America movie from 1996, this one will be landing on Paramount+'s streaming service later this month. It has been 26 years since we last saw these idiots on the big screen! What have they been up to?? After a "creative" judge sentences them to Space Camp, a black hole sends our adolescent heroes 24 years into the modern future where the duo misuse Iphones, embark on a quest to score, and become targets of the Deep State. Starring Judge as the voices of the duo, with a few guests including Gary Cole, Chris Diamantopoulos, Nat Faxon, David Herman, Chi McBride,...

It has been 26 years since “Beavis and Butt-Head Do America” hit theaters, and 11 have gone by since the eighth season of “Beavis and Butt-Head” aired on MTV. But nothing is ever truly dead in the age of streaming, and Mike Judge’s slacker cartoon characters are about to come back in a big way.
In addition to the planned revival of the television series, which has already been given a two-season order, Paramount+ is gearing up to release a second movie, “Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe.” The film was written, directed, and produced by Judge, who also voices the eponymous characters. While the initial film was a road trip comedy that spanned the United States of America, Judge’s sequel has even bigger aims, taking the characters to outer space and beyond.

Earth's two biggest giggling cartoon morons are about to go where no two-dimensional doofus has gone before, because Paramount+ has released a trailer for "Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe." While there has been talk of a sequel to the 1996 film "Beavis and Butt-Head Do America" for awhile now, the trailer presents something wildly different than anything we've heard before. Previously, creator Mike Judge had shared some drawings of an older Beavis and Butt-Head, and there was talk of a live-action version, but now the boys are simply ... heading to outer space?! “Beavis and Butthead” are ready to make their comeback, in a big way.
Paramount announced the title for the new “Beavis and Butthead” movie, along with an official synopsis and a release date. Get ready for some nonsensical chuckling later this year.
The new movie, coming later in 2022, will be called “Beavis and Butthead Do the Universe.” (The last movie was 1996’s underrated “Beavis and Butthead Do America.”) Officially described as “perhaps the dumbest space movie ever made,” the new movie finds Beavis and Butthead “sentenced to Space Camp by a ‘creative’ judge in 1998.” They wind up on the Space Shuttle, and after traveling through a black home, reemerge in our time. In the new movie they “look for love, misuse iPhones, and are hunted by the Deep State.”

Heh-heh. Mike Judge said Beavis and Butt-Head will be returning this year with a brand new movie for Paramount+.
Judge tweeted the information, but didn’t give an exact date for the return, indicating it will be “soon.” The reason for the delay? “They need some time to get back in shape,” he said of the duo, who are now at least in early adulthood chronologically, if not mentally. For the uninitiated, the adult animated comedy series follows teenaged Beavis and Butt-Head, both voiced by Judge. Lowbrow humor, some surprising self-awareness, but ultimate failure marks the show’s oeuvre. The characters debuted in the 1992 short film Frog Baseball, and MTV shortly thereafter commissioned a full series. Beavis and Butt-Head ran for seven seasons on MTV from March 8, 1993, to November 28, 1997. It was revived for an eighth season airing on MTV from October 27, 2011, to December 29, 2011, then canceled a second time. The duo also had a theatrical film,...

A “Beavis and Butt-Head” feature film reboot will make its way to Paramount+ this year. And Mike Judge, the creator of the classic 1990s animated MTV series, teased on Tuesday night that it will feature the two lead characters in an advanced age bracket.

The tweet included mock-ups of older versions of Beavis and Butt-Head.

With Lovecraft Country still providing HBO and HBO Max with its horror content through October, the streamer is looking elsewhere for its spooky season offerings. HBO Max’s new releases for October 2020 feature some truly awesome horror library titles.
Jordan Peele’s Us, John Carpenter’s The Thing, and David Fincher’s Se7en all arrive on Oct. 1. That alone should be enough to last you through spooky season. And if it doesn’t, It: Chapter Two is right there as well. October is also a big month for Batman and Superman with Man of Steel arriving on Oct. 1 along with a whole of animated specials dropping that same day.
In relation to the library titles, this isn’t HBO Max’s strongest month from an original perspective. But there is still plenty to like here. The West Wing election special arrives on Oct. 15. That will be followed by David Byrne...

Yesterday, Comedy Central announced that Beavis and Butt-Head is getting a reboot. The animated series from the early 90s originally ran for eight seasons and across that time, the show amassed a loyal following, one that turned into a cult after the program entered syndication. Are they happy with the news, though? Well, the answer may surprise you.
Facts first. In their statement, Comedy Central said the reboot will be directed by Mike Judge, who was the creator and showrunner of the original series. “Beavis and Butt-Head” is coming back. Heh heh heh.
Comedy Central has announced a new deal with original series creator Mike Judge to reimagine MTV’s classic animated comedy. The network has ordered two seasons of the new series, which promises “meta-themes relatable to both new and old fans – Gen X parents and their Gen Z kids.” The deal also includes additional spin-offs and specials but specifics about those projects — as well as the release date for the upcoming two-season revival — are still under wraps
As with the original series, Judge will write and produce the series as well as voice the two dim-witted protagonists.

Beavis and Butt-Head are back, moving from Gen X to Gen Z and from MTV to Comedy Central. An expansive deal Comedy Central has inked with Beavis and Butt-Head creator Mike Judge and 3 Arts Entertainment calls for a reimagined version of MTV’s seminal, Gen X-defining adult animated sitcom, which has received a two-season order, as well as additional spin-offs and specials. Under the pact, Judge will write, produce and provide voice-over for both famous characters.
The deal with Judge is part of a major programming shift at Comedy Central toward ramping up adult animated content and building an original animated slate around South Park. Beavis and Butt-Head will join recently ordered animated series Jodie, a spinoff of MTV’s iconic Daria, with Tracee Ellis Ross voicing the main character and executive producing.
Beavis and Butt-Head and Jodie are part of the same animated universe as Daria was a spinoff from Beavis and Butt-Head.

Paris and Los Angeles-based Cyber Group Studios and WarnerMedia’s Boomerang International have given the green light to Season 2 of “Taffy,” an original 2D HD animated comedy made in the spirit of “Looney Tunes” and “Tom & Jerry” but targeting modern audiences.
Based on an original creation by Cyber Group Studios and developed with Boomerang, Season 2’s 78 new seven-minute episodes will be aired by Boomerang in international markets and in France on the M6 Group-owned Gulli channel. The renewal, which expands “Taffy” to a total 156 episodes, comes in the run-up to this year’s 2020 Annecy Intl. Animation Film Festival where “Taffy” competes in official selection in the TV-film category.
Drinking deep at the well of classic 2D knockabout comedy of feral rivalry, “Taffy” turns on Bentley, a loyal hound dog living in pampered luxury with billionaire lady owner Mrs Muchmore, and his endless and spectacularly unsuccessful attempts to out and oust raccoon Taffy,...

Ask people what they remember about Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street and they’ll usually tell you about moments from the biopic where the cast utterly committed to their parts, whether it’s Matthew McConaughey endlessly punching his chest over brunch as Mark Hanna, or Leonardo DiCaprio’s Jordan Belfort crawling along the floor after taking expired Quaaludes. Somehow on another plane of existence, however, is Jonah Hill’s version of Donnie Azoff aka former stockbroker Danny Porush. If it seemed at the time as though no one quite pushed the envelope in terms of swearing like DiCaprio and Hill in The Wolf of Wall Street, you weren’t imagining it.
A new study from BuzzBingo (uh) examined 3,500 movie scripts to find out which actor curses the most on the big screen, and Hill ended up taking the crown, boosted by his performance in The Wolf of Wall Street.

A new study has found that Jonah Hill has spewed the most swear words in the movies he’s starred in, based on a Buzz Bingo survey of more than 3,500 film scripts. According to the survey, the actor has uttered 376 swear words throughout his films, with many of them belonging to Hill’s character Seth in “Superbad” and, of course, his character Donnie Azoff in “The Wolf of Wall Street.” According to Buzz Bingo, Martin Scorsese’s Jordan Belfort biopic is the “sweariest” movie of all time, at 715 words.
Hill’s new record means he’s now bested both his “Wolf of Wall Street” costar Leonardo DiCaprio, and Samuel L. Jackson, whose “Pulp Fiction” surprisingly isn’t on the surveys list of the most foul-mouthed movies of all time. Jackson’s most swearing character is, the study finds, actually Ordell in Quentin Tarantino’s “Jackie Brown.”
