    A poor and shameless belch

A rude, sexist and stupid movie like few others, which doesn't mean that one can also laugh a lot with it, due to its crazy comedy. In fact, its first few minutes, in which we witness a hilarious parody of The Godfather, by Abe Vigoda, the unforgettable Tesio from the Francis Ford Coppola saga, are very promising. We will also see in that prologue a funny parody of JFK's love story with Marilyn Monroe. And even another one from Forest Gump. The problem is that once, after this prologue, the nice credits appear and, by the way, shortly Vigoda disappear of screen, the film slips without shame or subtlety down the slope of coarse salt, the plot incoherence and the denigrating display of stunning women, but almost always presented like stupid And the presence of people like Pat Morita or Lou Ferrigno doesn't make it much better. Not even the exuberance and good work of Debbe Dunning, nor some funny musical interludes it has, since the film soon becomes a bad mix of Dumb and Dumber (Peter and Bob Farrelly,1994) and Supervixens (Russ Meyer, 1975). Thus, for example, the entire final sequence of the trial, with the jury made up of playboy girls, is truly embarrassing. Sure, you do get a laugh sometimes, but sometimes it's not so much because of the gags themselves as because of how horrible they are. And it is that, as its own soundtrack makes clear when the word end appears, and it is something that should be thanked to its director for making things clear, the entire film is a misery and shameless belch.

    Yuck!@!

I hope I never stumble upon another one of this guys movies..ever EVER again. It was a pointless, and truly unfunny piece of work...this guy should really think about his career...I'm sure this movie was plenty damaging. The movie was dry and quite shallow...and really didn't offer up many laughs...If this was the last movie on earth...you couldn't pay me a million to watch it. Maybe he should rethink the genre of film he should direct...comedy is definitely not one of them. It's quite sad that there were a few actors/actresses in the cast that have made quite the names for themselves, and I hate to say it..but doing a movie of this caliber is surely not positive for the career. I give this one two thumbs down...way down.

    Unwatchable. Grade: F-

Even Pat Morita (who I thought was funny in such low-grade films as "Night Patrol") can't save this piece of trash from being anything but utter unwatchable garbage. I can't believe I watched the entire thing. I believe there's a sequel to this debacle but there's no way I'm checking it out after seeing this wretched mess. It's not even funny for bad movie buffs. Achingly Bad

This film is truly horrendous. From the painfully unfunny opening credits to the exceedingly ridiculous courtroom finale, "Misery Brothers" never manages to be anything but a cringe worthy, cinematic car crash.

As a huge fan of bad movies, I usually revel in paper thin plotting, appalling acting and general tastelessness. This film has all of those characteristics in spades but still manages to be as enjoyable as genital herpes. The main reason for this is the film's obvious desperation to find a cult following. Misery Brothers does everything but hire David Hasselhoff to achieve this aim. There are musical interludes, a wrestling match and more bikini clad women than you can poke a stick at. The film's general craziness comes across as forced and ultimately, downright pathetic.

My second grudge with Misery Brothers is the shocking waste of a veritable cornucopia of Z-grade favourites. I'm sure it requires a special talent to make a dull film when you have the likes of Rowdy Rod Piper, Lou Ferrigno, Mother Love and Debbe Dunning in your movie. Poor Lou Ferrigno fares the worst, playing a toothless butler who walks around at one point in a black G-string.

Despite the overwhelmingly dire nature of this film, there are still two reasons to see it (hence the two star rating): Appearances by two amazing, and sorely missed, actors - Pat Morita and Nell Carter. Pat Morita glides through the thankless role of a knife throwing judge with his usual grace. Nell Carter, strangely not credited on IMDb, has a minor cameo as a maid but does get to perform a brief song, which was an unexpected joy until Nell is almost completely obscured by a chorus line of bikini clad bimbos.

    Wasn't that bad.

Compared to the films that shot up over the last 20 years with those "(insert word here) Movie" that have murdered parody films forever, this one wasn't all that bad. Sure, it could have used the likes of Leslie Neilson to spruce it up, but for the cast it has it hasn't done the atrocious job the other reviewers here said about it.

It does star a couple of nobodies, least that im familuer with, and they can get a tad annoying, but it was bareable to get through the whole film without being bored or cringed out. A few gags hit, a few miss, but name me a parody film that hits its shot every time? It does have a much stronger start that falls a bit flat in the middle but it does finds a bit better pace in the final act.

There are a few too many musical numbers for my liking, but they're not boring I guess. The film parodies a few films such as Forrest Gump, The Godfather... and ummm.... I forget. Hey, i didn't say this was a great spoof film, I'm just saying it's at least ok, and if spoof parody slapstick films are your thing, it's worth maybe one viewing, if you're curious? No, I'm not recommending it to anyone else as a must see, and it's no Mel Brooks or Zucker Abraham's Zucker quality of parody entertainment, but it's far better the likes of the two guys who had something to do with Scary Movie 1 and 2 and went on to just stupidly show visuals of two pop culture things standing side by side with no joke other than they're there next to each other in all those terrible parody films that have killed the genre.
