Image
Thunderbolts* North America Box Office Day 11 Update(Photo Credit –Facebook)

The latest Marvel movie, Thunderbolts*, is maintaining a steady hold at the US box office and has earned a decent number on Day 11. The film surpassed The Marvels a few days back and is set to surpass another MCU flop at the North American box office. However, The New Avengers has already beaten this film’s worldwide haul. Keep scrolling for more.

The New Avengers movie has earned more than the last MCU release, Captain America: Brave New World, on its second Monday. It is also performing better than The Incredible Hulk, Eternals, and Ant-Man 3. The MCU movies have been struggling since after Avengers: Endgame, failing to create the same connection as the previous movies. But this Florence Pugh and Sebastian Stan connected with the fans owing to its strong theme accompanied by good writing.

‘Top Gun’ vs ‘F1’: Brad Pitt May Be Tom Cruise’s Rival But It’s Hard to Beat What Maverick Achieved for 3 Reasons
Image
Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise have been reported to be rivals for as long as one can remember, with both of them deemed competitive while striving for the top spot in the entertainment industry. The former’s upcoming movie F1 is expected to take this very rivalry to the next level, especially since it is being compared to the latter’s Top Gun film series.

But while this soon-to-be-released sports-action movie is expected to put up a fair competition to Cruise’s action-adventure aviation sequel, Top Gun: Maverick, it already seems to be lagging behind in comparison. To say the least, Pitt’s flick might not be able to beat what the 2022 masterpiece achieved, for these three understandable reasons.

Brad Pitt’s F1 lacks heroism, while Tom Cruise’s Top Gun depicts that perfectly Tom Cruise in Top Gun: Maverick | Credits: Paramount Pictures.

Top Gun 3 Will Be So Damn Expensive If Tom Cruise Wants to Bring Back These 3 Stars From Top Gun: Maverick
Image
Reports have confirmed the development of Top Gun 3, with Tom Cruise returning to his role as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell. The previous film, Top Gun: Maverick, turned out to be the highest-grossing film in Cruise’s career. The film featured a bunch of young stars, many of whom went on to build a reputable career since the 2022 film.

A third film in the series would probably be incomplete without these young stars returning to their roles. However, bringing them would make the movie a very expensive affair, given their current star value. Cruise’s salary alone would be a massive cost for the film, as his reported salary for the second film was $100 million (via Variety).

While it took 36 years for the second movie to materialize, the third movie is expected to arrive very soon, offering a fitting conclusion to Cruise’s iconic character.

3 stars who will blow up the...

F1 Vs Top Gun: Maverick North America Box Office: Will Brad Pitt’s Film Be Able To Defeat Tom Cruise Starrer’s Opening Weekend?
Image
F1 vs. Top Gun: Maverick North America Box Office( Photo Credit – YouTube )

Brad Pitt’s F1, the movie’s main trailer, has been released and is filled with thrills owing to the fast cars and the fantastic music by Hans Zimmer. It surely has a lot of adrenaline rush. Still, the main question remains: Will it beat the opening weekend of Joseph Kosinski and Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick’s debut with its opening weekend collection? Cruise’s film holds the record for the biggest Memorial Day weekend, grossing more than $1 billion globally. Keep scrolling for more.

For the uninitiated, Joseph Kosinski and Cruise worked together in Oblivion, but Maverick is the biggest success in both careers. The film collected $718.73 million in its domestic run and $776.9 million overseas, and thus, the 2022 movie’s worldwide haul is a staggering $1.49 billion. It was made on a reported budget between $170-$177 million...

“It’s Exhilarating”: Tom Cruise Pays Tribute to Late ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ Co-Star Val Kilmer
Image
Maverick and Iceman may have clashed in the skies, but off-screen, Tom Cruise had nothing but admiration for his Top Gun costar Val Kilmer. In a new cover story with Sight and Sound magazine, Cruise opened up about Kilmer’s unforgettable performance as Lt. Tom "Iceman" Kazansky in both the original 1986 film and its 2022 sequel Top Gun: Maverick, describing the experience of working with him as “exhilarating.”

“First of all, I felt so grateful that he decided to make the film,” Cruise said. "We did a lot to get him in the movie. Originally, he just didn't want to make the movie: ‘I don't want to be a supporting, I want to star in films.’ I was calling his agent, and [director] Tony Scott was hunting him down and meeting in an elevator with Val, and he was like, ‘Please, Val, please.’”

Kilmer eventually came around and joined the film as Iceman – a cold,...

Tom Cruise Talks Emotional Reunion With Late Val Kilmer for ‘Top Gun: Maverick’: ‘It Was Joyous’
Image
Maverick and Iceman had a bond on screen, and Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer had one off, as Cruise detailed in a new interview in which he praised his late costar. In a career retrospective for Sight and Sound, Cruise said it was “amazing” that he got to reconnect with Kilmer for the 2022 action drama Top Gun: Maverick, the sequel to 1986’s Top Gun. In Maverick, as Cruise once again played Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, Kilmer had a cameo as Maverick’s rival-turned friend, Tom “Iceman” Kazansky. It was Kilmer’s final onscreen role before his death from pneumonia at age 65 this April. “It was like time had not passed,” Cruise told the magazine as he recalled filming Maverick scenes with Kilmer (per Deadline). “We were laughing, and it was joyous. And then we started acting, and it’s just, you see it… he became Iceman.” Kilmer’s role in Maverick was largely silent,...

Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning North America Box Office Projection: Compared To His Last Memorial Day Film, Top Gun Maverick ( Photo Credit – YouTube )

Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning, aka Mission Impossible 8, will be released over Memorial Day weekend, clashing with Disney’s live-action movie Lilo & Stitch. However, they have separate target audiences, so the box office collections are less likely to get hampered. However, as the latest projection goes, it will be less than his last Memorial Day release, Top Gun: Maverick. Keep scrolling for more.

Top Gun 2 was released in 2022, and it was the sequel to Cruise’s breakthrough movie Top Gun, which came out three decades ago. Damson Idris Was Scared for Life Before Auditioning to Work With Brad Pitt in F1
Image
Damson Idris is revving up for his biggest role yet. However, his road to co-starring with Brad Pitt in the upcoming F1 movie was anything but smooth. The British star isn’t afraid of challenges, but nothing could have prepared him for this. For most actors, an audition means memorizing lines, but for Idris, it meant surviving a real-life trial on a slick Formula 1 track.

The actor shared about the nerve-wracking audition that pushed him to the edge. Fast forward to 2025, he is now on the red carpet of the biggest fashion event, the Met Gala, in a Tommy Hilfiger suit and dramatic look.

Damson Idris faced “absolute fear” to land a role in Brad Pitt’s F1 racing movie Damon Idris and Brad Pitt in a still from the F1 trailer | Credit: Warner Bros.

Clint Eastwood And Steven Spielberg Once Teamed Up For A Classic, Influential TV Show
Image
Steven Spielberg is often regarded for his invaluable contributions to cinema, but there's an argument to be made for his place in television. After his short film "Amblin'" made waves with Sid Sheinberg, the former head of Universal, Spielberg spent the late '60s and early '70s directing a number of shows including "Columbo" and "Night Gallery." Though his focus would cater toward the glamour of big screen adventures, he never lost sight of the medium that gave him the opportunities to flex his chops. Most of Spielberg's later television career consisted of executive producer credits, but there were some shows that he had an active hand in developing, with one that made a considerable splash in the mid '80s.

"Amazing Stories" was Spielberg's foray into the world of anthology television, as each episode spanned the genre-scope of fantasy, science fiction and horror. Invoking the series will undoubtedly...

The Sentry's Creator Gives Us His Honest Review of Lewis Pullman's Performance in Thunderbolts
Image
The MCU is now back with another film, Thunderbolts*. The movie is a team-up of multiple fan-favorite characters, with Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes/ The Winter Soldier making yet another return, and teaming up with other characters from Black Widow, The Falcon the Winter Soldier, and Ant-Man and the Wasp.

However, Thunderbolts* also introduced a new character to the MCU: Sentry. Played by Lewis Pullman (Top Gun: Maverick), the character joined the group of anti-heroes in his film debut. The superhero/ supervillain appeared for the first time in 2000 in The Sentry #1, and was created by Paul Jenkins, with art by Jae Lee. In a new exclusive interview with Cbr, Jenkins shared his honest review of Pullman's performance.

In Thunderbolts*, Pullman's Sentry doesn't use his full name, Robert Reynolds, but goes by Bob. Senty also has a supervillain alter ego, The Void. Speaking about his opinion on the film and Sentry's debut,...

Brad Pitt’s Driving in the Apple TV+’s F1 Movie Is So Good He Got Lewis Hamilton’s Seal of Approval
Image
Apple TV+ has been on a roll, dropping some incredible movies and shows that are starting to turn heads worldwide. Their latest addition to the library is the Apple Original movie F1, previously known as Apex — a film about a washed-up driver and a rookie paired in a team that’s used to finishing at the bottom of the grid.

If you were to find the similarities between an F1 car and a fighter jet, it would probably be the inhuman g-force and attention of Jerry Bruckheimer and Joseph Kosinski.

The producer and director’s love for the sense of speed that cannot be achieved without putting someone in the cockpit who knows what they are doing. Tom Cruise, who is also a pilot, killed it with his role in Maverick, and now Brad Pitt getting into an F1 seat has left the F1 legend Lewis Hamilton in awe.

Jodie Foster, Mel Gibson, and James Garner in Maverick (1994)
Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski is set to direct a Miami Vice remake for Universal Pictures. Nightcrawler scribe Dan Gilroy will write the script for the big screen project, an adaptation of the classic ’80s TV series starring Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas as undercover cops. Bring on the pastels!

Kosinski will also produce the project through Monolith, and Dylan Clark will also produce through Dylan Clark Productions. This won’t be the first time Crockett and Tubbs have made their way to the big screen. Michael Mann directed a remake in 2006, which starred Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx. Although the film received mixed reviews at the time, not to mention a lackluster box office, it has since become a cult favourite.

Paramount Slammed For Trying To “Scapegoat” ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ Writer’s Cousin & Infringement Action; Studio Disses “Completely Without Merit” Screenplay Suit
Image
As regulatory approval of Paramount’s sale to Skydance looms, the still Shari Redstone-owned studio now finds itself in a family dogfight over who wrote what on blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick.

Filed last night in federal court in New York, a copyright infringement suit from the cousin of the Oscar nominated Eric Warren Singer claims plaintiff Shaun Gray “wrote key scenes for the screenplay that became the Film’s central edge-of-your-seat dramatic action sequences that made it a smash hit.” The complaint is fueled to the hilt with exhibits that place Gray’s alleged work next to what showed up in the script and on-screen of the 2022 Tom Cruise flick, With a bevy of file creation timelines too, the Marc Toberoff represented Gray wants a court declaration for a credit on Maverick as well as some of the nearly $1.5 billion in box office the Joseph Kosinski helmed movie made worldwide.

‘Top Gun: Maverick’ Script at the Center of New Lawsuit
Image
Three years after “Top Gun: Maverick” was released, and its script is now at the center of a lawsuit. Visual effects artist Shaun Gray, who has collaborated with “Top Gun: Maverick” screenwriter and cousin Eric Singer on two other films according to his IMDb profile, has sued Paramount Pictures claiming he wrote at least a dozen “Maverick” action scenes without credit or compensation.

Gray alleged that he worked on the script for five months with Singer and director Joseph Kosinski. Singer, Christopher McQuarrie, and Ehren Kruger have writing credits for the feature (and have recently reunited for Apple film “F1”), with Peter Craig and Justin Marks listed with a “story by” credit. “Top Gun: Maverick” was Oscar-nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay after being released in 2022.

“This action seeks justice for Gray, a talented screenwriter, manipulated and exploited by Hollywood power players, and demands accountability from Defendants that profited prodigiously by misappropriating Gray’s creative work,...

‘Top Gun: Maverick’ Writer’s Cousin Sues Paramount, Says Studio Manipulated Him Out of Credit for Key Scenes
Image
Shaun Gray, cousin of credited “Top Gun: Maverick” screenwriter Eric Singer, sued Paramount Global on Sunday, saying the studio manipulated and exploited him out of credit and compensation for portions of the script he claims to have written.

Gray claimed in his suit, filed in New York, that he not only participated in story meetings with Singer and “Maverick” director Joseph Kosinski but also wrote “key scenes” in the film’s screenplay that “became the film’s central edge-of-your-seat dramatic action sequences.”

Gray alleged that he was “manipulated and exploited by Hollywood power players” and, therefore, not properly credited or compensated for his work on the 2022 blockbuster.

While Gray has worked primarily as a visual effects artist in Hollywood, he was credited as a writing consultant to Singer on 2017’s “Only the Brave,” which Kosinski also directed, and as Singer’s writer’s assistant on the 2009 thriller “The International.” Gray...

Will Hutchins Dies: ‘Sugarfoot’, ‘Blondie’ Actor Was 94
Image
Will Hutchins, the star of ABC’s Sugarfoot, thought to be a contender for TV’s first comedy western series, died Monday, April 21, at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York. He was 94.

His death was announced by Western film and TV historian Boyd Magers.

Running on ABC for 69 episodes from 1957 to 1961, Sugarfoot starred Hutchins as Tom Brewster, an Easterner who comes to the Wild West of the Oklahoma Territory to become a lawyer. His lack of cowboy skills, which the show played for laughs, earned him the nickname Sugarfoot. The show’s lighthearted approach to the TV western genre preceded that of Maverick starring James Garner, which debuted five days after Sugarfoot.

Born Marshall Lowell Hutchason in Los Angeles on May 5, 1930, Hutchins served in the United States Army Signal Corps during the Korean War, and subsequently enrolled as a graduate student at UCLA to study cinema arts. His...

Any time any publication or site puts out a new list of what they consider the best action movies of all time, it can’t help but generate a ton of controversy. Nevertheless, we here at JoBlo have decided to throw our hats into the ring with a list we really hope generates some nostalgia among our viewers but also encourages them to seek out the movies on this list that they may not have seen. But first, some may wonder where superhero movies are on this list. Given how broad that genre is, we decided to stick to old-school action, so we have left them off the list, as they deserve their own ranking. There are also a few absences from the list, notably some Jackie Chan Hong Kong films (like Police Story...

James Garner movies: 12 greatest films ranked worst to best
Image
Emmy-winning actor James Garner always did things a little differently. In an era where Western shootouts were all the rage, Garner brought a touch of light comedy to "Maverick" and redefined what a TV Western could be. When a successful lawsuit ended his involvement in "Maverick," Garner turned to films and defied yet another tradition. It was thought for years that TV actors simply did not cross over into films -- "Why pay to see an actor in a movie while you can stay home and see him for free?" said the smart money in Hollywood. Yet Garner did just that, going on to co-star in hit after hit -- from romantic comedies ("The Thrill of It All") and action classics ("The Great Escape") to wide-screen spectacles ("Grand Prix") and, yes, more Westerns ("Support Your Local Sheriff!").

When Garner did return to television, he enjoyed perhaps his biggest hit ever...

10 Greatest Val Kilmer Roles
Image
The passing of Val Kilmer is a great loss for the world of cinema. While cancer took away his voice many years ago, it’s hard to look at the 90s without seeing his massive impact. Just look at all the tributes that his colleagues have made for him. He was clearly a very special person. It’s always tough when any iconic actor passes away, as their long and storied careers are a presence in our lives, giving us a seemingly deep connection. We get to know them through their craft and attach to their roles. And there are few actors I’ve attached to more than Mr. Val Kilmer.

From the smarts and coolness of Chris Knight, to the quick-witted Gay Perry, all the way to what may be one of the greatest characters in all of cinema in Doc Holliday. Kilmer just knew how to give us intriguing performances,...

Tom Cruise Pays Tribute To Val Kilmer, Asks CinemaCon For Moment Of Silence
Image
At the start of a surprise appearance at CinemaCon this morning, Tom Cruise took a moment to honor his Top Gun co-star, the late Val Kilmer. Kilmer passed away earlier this week at age 65, after battling pneumonia.

Before asking the audience to “take a moment,” Cruise, hand on heart, said, “I’d like to honor a dear friend of mine, Val Kilmer. I really can’t tell you how much I admire his work, how much I thought of him as a human being, how honored I was when he joined Top Gun and came back for Top Gun: Maverick. I think it would be great if we could all just take a moment and think about all the wonderful times we had with him. Would you all mind doing that? Let’s just take a moment.” With that, the Colosseum went silent as Cruise bowed his head. He concluded,...

“I Wish You Well on Your Next Journey”: Tom Cruise Honors ‘Top Gun’ Co-Star Val Kilmer at CinemaCon
Image
CinemaCon is no stranger to standing ovations, but this one was silent — and deeply moving. During Paramount Pictures’ presentation in Las Vegas, Tom Cruise paused his appearance to honour a friend, co-star, and longtime collaborator: the late Val Kilmer. Kilmer, who passed away after complications due to pneumonia on April 1, at the age of 65, famously played Tom "Iceman" Kazansky opposite Cruise’s Maverick in Top Gun, and made an emotional return in Top Gun: Maverick in 2022 — a moment that brought audiences and cast members alike to tears.

On stage to present new footage from Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, Cruise became visibly emotional when speaking about Kilmer’s contribution to both films and the bond they shared on and off screen, as reported by Collider's Britta DeVore.

Tom Cruise Returns To CinemaCon To Show Off ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’

It’s been a long time, Tom Cruise. As CinemaCon heads into its final day, attendees were treated to a visit from one of global exhibition’s most beloved stars. Post Covid, it’s the first time that Cruise has stepped on stage at Caesars Palace at the Colosseum. Even during the year when Top Gun: Maverick was shown off to exhibs, he wasn’t in attendance because he was shooting Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning and Final Reckoning. In those years, Cruise has sent video messages to CinemaCon attendees. That said, Cruise has made surprise appearances at CineEurope in Barcelona post-pandemic.

Before showing off a piece of footage, Cruise asked the room to take a moment and remember his dear friend and Top Gun 2 Ice Man — Val Kilmer, who died two days ago.

What Happened To The Cast Of The Willow Movie?
Image
It seems odd to refer to 1988's "Willow" as "the Willow movie," but that's because every nostalgic intellectual property is ripe for refreshing in the modern franchise era, and "Willow" finally got a sequel streaming series on Disney+, also called "Willow." Over 30 years passed between the two, and that's a lot of time for actors to change or even pass away. Warwick Davis' passion for his biggest lead role without special effects makeup never waned, and his enthusiasm is palpable still as he struggles to get the series reclaimed from the Disney vault into which it quickly vanished (and we know the annoying reason why).

The original movie, written by George Lucas and directed by Ron Howard, was an attempt to do for fantasy what "Star Wars" had done for science fiction, and it even featured groundbreaking special effects, like the first use of digital morphing. It was a box office disappointment in its day,...

His passing has inspired an outpouring of tributes from those who worked with him throughout his career and those who simply admired him from afar, and it is easy to see why. In his wake, Kilmer has left behind a one-of-a-kind filmography the likes of which most actors can only dream of compiling, as well as a number of performances that have already stood the test of time and will continue to do so in the years to come.

In honor of Kilmer, here are the five best movies starring the actor that are available to stream right now.

“The Doors,” director Oliver Stone’s 1991 film about its eponymous rock band and legendary singer Jim Morrison, is not without its flaws. It must be seen, though, just for Kilmer’s central performance as Morrison. The...

Remembering Val Kilmer, a Powerful Actor Who Remained a Reluctant Movie Star
Image
The 1980s marked the return of a lot of things. They were called “the greed decade,” which really meant that materialism was coming back with a vengeance. So was a new kind of traditionalism. We were going back to the future. And that required a new kind of movie star. He needed a certain vibe: clean and handsome and a bit square. He had to look like he could fit into a 1950s frat house. Tom Cruise, who became the biggest star of his time, was that to a T. And so, in a slightly shaggier way, was his rival and compatriot in “Top Gun,” Val Kilmer.

Kilmer was a classic camera object in an old-fashioned way. He had a sensual scowl and burning eyes that were very Brando. In “Top Gun,” where he played Iceman, whose job was to bust the chops of Cruise’s Maverick, he was like a malevolent beach bum,...

Val Kilmer, Remembered Through His Very Best Performances
Image
Val Kilmer is gone. It’s strange to say, since he was such an important part of the fabric of movies – and of pop culture, really – for decades. And if it wasn’t movies, it was something else.

He hosted “Saturday Night Live.” He appeared in an endlessly touring stage show as Mark Twain. He had a reputation for being prickly, maybe difficult, but for turning in brilliant performances that only he could.

And then, starting in 2015, he began battling cancer. In 2017, he announced that he had experienced a “healing of cancer,” but he was still struggling. As a lifelong Christian Scientist, he didn’t want to accept medical treatment. Eventually he did, having throat cancer removed and leaving him without the ability to speak and being forced to eat via a feeding tube. In recent years, he had experimented with AI to replicate his voice. “Val,” a 2021 documentary produced...

Real Reason Why Val Kilmer Quit Playing Batman After ‘Batman Forever’
Image
Val Kilmer suiting up as Batman in Batman Forever (1995) should’ve been the start of something legendary. The movie was a massive hit; Kilmer had the perfect mix of brooding and blockbuster charm, and Gotham had a new Dark Knight to root for. But when Batman & Robin (1997) hit theaters, fans were stunned to see George Clooney under the mask instead. Just like that, he was out. No sequel, no farewell, just a sudden switch that left fans asking: what really happened?

Rumors of behind-the-scenes drama, creative clashes, and studio politics spread like wildfire, but the real story? It’s way more layered than that. Image
Val Kilmer, the celebrated actor known for intensely committing to his performances and for starring roles in films like “Tombstone,” “Top Gun,” “The Doors” and more, died Tuesday from complications of pneumonia. He was 65.

His daughter, Mercedes Kilmer, made the news public.

A Los Angeles native born in 1959, Kilmer grew up in the San Fernando Valley and as a teenager set a record as the youngest student to be accepted into the Julliard school of Drama (the record was broken by Seth Numrich.)

Kilmer pursued a stage career when he started acting professionally in the early 80s, but launched his film career with “Top Secret!” a parody of both World War II dramas and musical comedies starring Elvis Presley directed by Jim Abrahams, David Zucker and Jerry Zucker, the team behind “Airplane!”

The film, though considered a bomb, showcased Kilmer’s matinee idol looks, impeccable comic timing but also his versatile singing voice,...

Extended look at Brad Pitt’s F1 blows audiences away at CinemaCon, plus DiCaprio clip for One Battle After Another
Image
CinemaCon is in full swing in Las Vegas, and the Warner Bros. presentation is underway. The audience got an extended look at Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another as Leonardo DiCaprio, Regina Hall, and Teyana Taylor took the stage.

During the presentation, DiCaprio said he’s wanted to work with Paul Thomas Anderson for 20 years. He praises the movie, saying it’s epic in scope and scale but allows the actors to improvise and dictate where the story goes. The crowd also got an extended sneak peek at the film highlighting the score by Jonny Greenwood, which is tense. The clip shows more of DiCaprio unable to remember the passphrase he needs to contact his old gang. He doesn’t remember the passphrase because his drugs and alcohol have fried his brain for 30 years. DiCaprio comes off like Rick Dalton in these scenes.

Meanwhile, Benicio del Toro’s character,...

Who Is Top Gun: Maverick’s Penny and Is She in the First Film?
Image
Kelly McGillis' Charlie was one of the big reasons the 1986 blockbuster Top Gun worked so well. A smart, capable woman in an era of token girlfriends, the Top Gun actress brought a surprising sense of equality to her relationship with Tom Cruise's Maverick. She dictated the terms of their romance, she was presented as the more emotionally mature of the two, and, at the end of the film, he came to her rather than staying out with the boys and their shirtless volleyball games. Her status as an instructor keeps her in Maverick's orbit without much effort, and she was a shoo-in for Top Gun: Maverick, the 2022 sequel that turned into an even bigger hit than the first film.

Yet McGillis didn't appear as part of the cast of Maverick, citing ageism as the cause. Her absence left Maverick without one of the key ingredients to its predecessor's success.

When Tom Cruise Revealed The Truth Behind Henry Cavill’s Mid-Scene Beard Growth In Mission: Impossible – Fallout
Image
Did Henry Cavill have a weird beard moment in Mission: Impossible Fallout?(Photo Credit –Facebook)

The now-legendary bathroom fight scene had Henry Cavill throwing punches in the air, prepping for the brawl. But eagle-eyed fans noticed something strange – his beard looked fuller in an instant. Not only that, but his shirt mysteriously gained a pocket. Social media lit up with theories. Lighting trick? Editing flub? Pure movie magic? Even Tom Cruise didn’t have an answer for this one.

BBC Radio 1 put the question directly to him during a Top Gun: Maverick interview. Cruise, ever the professional, admitted he was completely baffled.

“It is, I’m telling you, we looked at that over and over in rushes,” Tom Cruise said. “The editing room were going, ‘How did you do that, Henry?’ Ok, he is so talented that he can do that. I remember the time I saw the take and he did that,...

When Oscar Isaac Took 24 Slaps From Carrie Fisher While Filming The Last Jedi: “That Was One Of The First Things We Shot”
Image
Oscar Isaac Slapped By Carrie(Photo Credit –Wikimedia)

Oscar Isaac didn’t just step into the Star Wars universe; he took 24 slaps to the face for it. When filming The Last Jedi, the actor endured repeated hits from Carrie Fisher to perfect one pivotal scene. That’s right. Twenty-four takes. Twenty-four slaps. And a surreal moment Isaac would never forget.

Poe Dameron (Isaac), was one of General Leia Organa’s most trusted pilots. But trust only went so far. In The Last Jedi, Dameron’s recklessness cost lives, forcing Leia to put him in his place – literally. The scene had Fisher’s Leia slapping Dameron across the face before demoting him, and Fisher didn’t hold back.

“That was one of the first things we shot, and I think we did 24 takes,” Isaac recalled (via Starwars.com). “That was very surreal to be slapped by Princess Leia repeatedly.” Fisher, on the other hand,...

When Meryl Streep Mastered This One Skill For Her Oscar-Winning Role In Sophie’s Choice

Did Meryl Streep work hard to learn Polish for Sophie’s Choice role?(Photo Credit –Wikimedia)

Streep captivated as Sophie, a Polish immigrant with a haunting past. Sophie’s Choice (1982) followed her life in Brooklyn, but its most gut-wrenching moments came through flashbacks to her time in a Nazi camp.

To truly embody Sophie, Meryl Streep had to learn Polish. She initially assumed it would be as easy as picking up Italian or French. “I thought it would be a piece of cake, like picking up Italian or French or something—but it’s not,” Streep said in an interview. “It’s a lot like Latin because there are seven cases, I think—my teacher will kill me if I don’t get this right—grammar wasn’t my strong point, I can get the accent.”

Streep continued: “Anyway, because of that it was real hard to learn, you have to...

Aldis Hodge Had No Clue About Superman’s Cameo In Black Adam Until Days Before The Premiere: “It Just Doesn’t Get Any Better”
Image
Aldis Hodge Black Adam(Photo Credit –Instagram)

It just didn’t get any better for Aldis Hodge, because he had no clue Henry Cavill was suiting up in Black Adam until the last possible moment. Imagine being in a movie and not knowing its biggest surprise. That’s exactly what happened to the Black Adam star, who played Hawkman in the DC flick.

Hodge only found out about Superman’s cameo “pretty close to the premiere.” That’s right. While fans had been speculating for months, the actor had zero idea the Man of Steel was making a grand return. “They kept that all the way under wraps, and I didn’t know until maybe a day or two before the premiere,” he revealed in an interview with THR. “So they kept it that close.”

That level of secrecy was next-level. Not even a whisper on set. No subtle nods from The Rock.

'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' Reboot Rumored to Have Drawn the Interest of Glen Powell
Image
There might be a whole new meaning to Glen Powell's Twisters character Tyler Owens's catchphrase, "If you feel it, chase it," as the actor is reportedly interested in leading The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise in a new reboot. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is the franchise nobody saw coming; starting out as a low-budget horror film from director Tobe Hopper that didn't even get an official Hollywood premiere until 2024. One film launched one of the most beloved horror series ever with an icon in the form of the villain Leatherface. The 1974 Texas Chainsaw Massacre was followed by three sequels: a reboot, a prequel to that reboot, a retcon sequel to the original film, a prequel to the original film, and a legacy sequel. Now, a new film version appears to be in the works.

As per a report by Deadline, Verve, the company that has held the rights to...

Jack Lilley, ‘Little House on the Prairie’ Stuntman and Actor, Dies at 91
Image
Jack Lilley, the stunt performer and actor who made a home for himself on Little House on the Prairie by working on every one of the beloved NBC drama’s nine seasons, has died. He was 91.

Lilley had Alzheimer’s disease and died Wednesday at the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital in Woodland Hills, his granddaughter Savanah Lilley told The Signal, a news outlet in Santa Clarita.

In Blazing Saddles (1974), Lilley played one of the outlaws who loots the town of Rock Ridge, and in one scene, he and his horse slide into a pool of mud and are submerged. It was an accident, but director Mel Brooks liked it so much, he kept it in the movie.

The mustachioed Lilley had worked with Michael Landon on Bonanza for years starting in 1961, and that led to Landon hiring him for Little House in 1974. (Landon, of course, starred in,...

F1 Sounds Like It Had One Of Most Difficult Film Shoots Of All Time
Image
After spending so much time in the Danger Zone, "Top Gun: Maverick" director Joseph Kosinski should be able to handle the switch from wings to wheels with his new film "F1," which looked like "Top Gun: Maverick" but in a car. The upcoming movie sees Brad Pitt as a down and out racer who teams up with "Snowfall" star Damson Idris' hot shot driver to win a race against the titans of the sport, which demanded that the actors spent a lot of the film on the track as a result. In this case, that meant a live racetrack with real racers and a roaring audience watching it unfold.

/Film attended a trailer preview for the new film earlier this week, where the director revealed how every second counted getting his stars on and off the track while filming the fast-paced sequences shown in the new footage. "We couldn't just...

F1 Trailer: Brad Pitt's New Racing Movie Looks Unbelievably Cool
Image
I won't beat around the bush: "F1" looks rad as hell. Director Joseph Kosinski has reunited with producer Jerry Bruckheimer and screenwriter Ehren Kruger after working with them on the fantastic "Top Gun: Maverick," and it's obvious that they're looking to create something similar here set in the world of Formula 1 racing.

There are recognizable archetypes and familiar rhythms to films like this -- charming leading man playing a guy whose best days are ostensibly behind him, hot love interest to inspire him on the sidelines, young up-and-comer representing the modern way of doing things, etc. -- and credit where it's due, Bruckheimer has built an incredible career making movies that are slight variations on that formula. When it's firing on all cylinders, there's a cathartic, satisfying, pump-your-fist quality to this type of moviemaking that feels like a throwback to a different era.

But was the monster success of...
