When Caroline is getting ready to meet her boyfriend at the beginning of the movie, we see her sweep a bunch of makeup off of her dressing table and into her purse, then she walks off the screen to the right. When she comes back, the makeup is back on the dressing table.
When Caroline's brother has the car, she tells him to pick her up at 2am and he complains that he has to get up for school. Then, when he fails to get her, Adam walks her home. She tells him that the next day is Christmas Eve, but kids in Minnesota do not have school on Christmas Eve.
On Caroline's first day back to work after she was attacked, she tells her brother to pick her up at 2a.m. Yet later that night she tells Adam that she always knows she got good tips if come 3a.m. her sugar jars are empty.
When Caroline enters Adam's house the first time, she unties her scarf twice.
At the end, when Caroline and Adam reach his house, she goes to get out of the car and unlocks the door twice.
The scar shown on Adam's chest is on an angle, from top right to bottom left. Heart surgery requires the sternum to be split, leaving a 7-10 inch vertical scar from top center, just below the collar bone, to middle center, just above the abdomen.
When Caroline watches Adam put his sweater on he has nothing on underneath it. When she goes in to talk to him moments later, he has an undershirt sticking out from underneath the sweater, but as he was putting it on you could see he put both the sweater and undershirt on together.
The story is set in the winter around Christmas time but trees in the background are full of leaves and the snow is gathered in an unnatural way.
The story takes place in Minnesota. The movie was released in Feb 1993. The Minnesota North Stars first game as the Dallas Stars was in Oct 1993. So the movie's hockey scene would be part of the final year for the franchise in the north. The team had already been denied relocation twice. Instead the NHL awarded two new franchises in those cities. The San Jose Sharks and the Anaheim MIghty Ducks. Why would a team on th verge of bankruptcy have a packed arena that night ? Because they are probably in Detroit not Minneapolis. (The dark Stars uniform indicates "away" not "home".) Why did the couple drive 10 hours to see a hockey game when they could have seen them locally ?
