Hollywood actor, artist, director, and screenwriter Daniel Stern has bagged a ton of hilariously iconic roles in comedies throughout his career and has managed to land a spectacular performance in nearly every single one of them. As fans must have already understood after watching him in the Home Alone film series, he is immensely dedicated to his work to the core.

Chiney Ogwumike has big plans after striking a new deal with ESPN that extends her stay there and is certain to expand her presence.

Aaron Judge just made history during the Yankees game against the Toronto Blue Jays. Officially, he tied the all-time American League (and New York Yankees) record for most home runs in a season, held by Roger Maris since 1961. But for baseball purists (like my editor who forced me to write that headline), Judge tied the record for all-time home runs in a season league-wide.
During the 7th inning against the Toronto Blue Jays, the California native hit the ball over the bullpen and against the left field wall, marking his 61st home run this season.

With its list of new releases for September 2022, Prime Video is finally unveiling the most anticipated (and expensive) series in the streamer’s history.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will arrive to Prime Video’s servers on Sept. 2, 2022. This Lord of the Rings prequel, set in J.R.R. Tolkien’s Second Age, is in many ways the kind of TV property that Prime Video must have always wanted. It’s certainly the TV property most fitting with the company’s largesse and riches. The Rings of Power will cover the creation of the titular rings and many important events from Tolkien’s lore (condensed into a more TV-appropriate timeframe).
Middle-earth is going to be the happening spot on Amazon and the streaming world at large this month, but Prime Video does have a handful of other originals for the fantasy-phobic. Flight/Risk, a documentary about the Boeing 737 Max design disasters,...

Exclusive: Daniel Stern has joined the cast of the Apple TV+ series For All Mankind for Season 4 as a series regular.
Stern will play Eli Hobson, the new administrator at NASA. A former auto industry CEO, he’s been tasked with bringing the agency into the 21st century, a challenge much bigger than he anticipated.
For All Mankind explores what would have happened if the global space race had never ended. The series presents an aspirational world where NASA astronauts, engineers, and their families find themselves in the center of extraordinary events seen through the prism of an alternate history timeline — a world in which the Ussr beats the US to the moon.
The propulsive third season of the alternate reality series, which premiered to rave reviews, took viewers to a new decade, moving into the early ’90s with a high-octane race to a new planetary frontier: Mars. The Red...

This article contains spoilers for “Winning Time” Episodes 9 and 10.
After nine episodes of ups and downs, the season finale of “Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty” finally showed us what the title is all about. The show began with the Lakers drafting Earvin “Magic” Johnson (Quincy Isaiah) before the start of the 1979 season, so it’s only natural that it ends with the 1980 NBA championships.
With the coaching drama between Jack McKinney (Tracy Letts), Paul Westhead (Jason Segel) and Pat Riley (Adrien Brody) resolved at last (for now – “Winning Time” has already been renewed for a second season), the focus of the final episode rests on the Lakers’ last two games against the Philadelphia 76ers.
While “Winning Time” has been always been liberal with dramatic license, the season finale reflects just how theatrical Games 5 and 6 actually were. Like Magic said after winning the championship, “It’s unbelievable” – at least it would be,...

Tonight’s tenth and final episode of HBO’s Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty begins with the kind of adversity the team and owner Jerry Buss have overcome all through this charmed ’79-’80 NBA season. In the final moments of Game 5 of the finals, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar launches his patented sky hook, only to land wrong and severely sprain his ankle. The Hof center, dominant to this point, shrugs off the pain and wills the Lakers to being a win away from the NBA title. Magic Johnson, meanwhile, learns he has lost Rookie of the Year to his rival Larry Bird, who materializes in Magic’s apartment in a vision, meant to tear away at the Laker star’s confidence.

Every sports dynasty starts with one championship, but Winning Time‘s L.A. Lakers will have to win one without their star player.
Sunday’s season finale finds the Lakers tied 2 games to 2 with Dr. J’s Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA Finals (sorry, the “World Championships”), with Kareem dominating the Sixers in Game 5… until he jumps up for a skyhook and we hear his ankle crunch as he lands. He’s risking serious injury if he keeps playing, but he tells the team doctor to tape up his ankle and gets back on the court, leading the Lakers to a win.

Screen Media announced today the acquisition of all rights to the documentary film Vince Carter: Legacy, which will premiere on the Crackle Plus Networks as an original title in October.
“Air Canada,” “Flying Man” and “Half-Man/Half-Amazing” were just a few nicknames attached to NBA star Vince Carter in his time with the Toronto Raptors, where he won Rookie of the Year honors with his high-flying game. Carter went on to become a Slam-Dunk Contest champion, an eight-time All Star, an Olympic gold medalist and one of the handful of players to score 51 points in a single game. He also may be the only player to ever to dunk on a 7’2″ defender by literally jumping over him.
What might be even more impressive, however, is Carter’s durability. High fly acts generally burn fast and bright, but Carter managed to play an NBA-record 22 seasons and, as his career wound down,...

It’s summer, everyone! And with its relatively sparse list of new releases for July 2021, Hulu seems to be subtlety imploring its subscribers to go outside.
Don’t get us wrong: Hulu’s library offerings get a big upgrade this month. July 1 sees the arrival of great films like Galaxy Quest, Fargo, and Caddyshack. Bill and Ted Face the Music premieres on July 2 and its followed by Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar on July 9. Not bad stuff! It’s just that, outside of the library titles, there isn’t much to go off of.
Hulu’s only major original release this month is the FX on Hulu production American Horror Stories on July 15. As its name implies, the show is a spinoff of American Horror Story and will feature self-contained horror episodes rather than a season-long arc. MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said in a statement: “Tommy Lasorda was one of the finest managers our game has ever known. He loved life as a Dodger. His career began as a pitcher in 1949 but he is, of course, best known as the manager of two World Series champions and four pennant-winning clubs. His passion, success, charisma and sense of humor turned him into an international celebrity, a stature that he used to grow our sport. ESPN has signed eight-time NBA All-Star Vince Carter to a multi-year contract. The 2000 NBA Slam-Dunk Contest champion will serve as an NBA and college basketball analyst.
Carter, who is the only player in NBA history to play 22 seasons, will do all of the studio shows in addition to providing analysis during NBA and Acc men’s basketball games.
Why the Acc? If you can remember way back to the 1990s, Carter was a standout on the University of North Carolina Tar Heels, which play in that conference.
Carter attended Unc for three years after playing like a man among boys at Mainland High School in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Prior to his retirement from the NBA, Carter provided guest analysis on ESPN platforms. Now he’s officially on the/yet another team.
Carter was drafted in 1998 by the Toronto Raptors. There, he was named Rookie of the Year in 1999. Carter made...

Every game in the decades-old NBA 2K series has hit consoles between September and November in time for the leadup to the next NBA season. Makes sense, right? But what happens when, come early September, the pros are still trying to complete the previous campaign because of, oh, I don’t know, a global pandemic that has disrupted just about everything in the world in one way or another? You get NBA 2K21, a game that feels too much like last year’s model.
The game actually makes for a great metaphor for the 2019-20 NBA season. The on-court action is as good as ever, both in the league’s bubble at Disney’s Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Florida and in 2K21. The virtual basketball is just as smooth as the real thing. Quality simulation gameplay has always been the hallmark of the franchise, and that’s no different this year.

Streaming services have been doing an excellent job of keeping everyone busy as we all continue quarantining, and Disney Plus has been no exception. June was a particularly strong month for the platform with the additions of huge titles like Tarzan, Tarzan 2 and Avengers: Infinity War.
Meanwhile, July is already shaping up to be fantastic, too, with upcoming drops like the musical Hamilton, animated film Ice Age: Collision Course and classic sports movies like The Mighty Ducks and The Big Green. Of course, when Disney Plus giveth, Disney Plus taketh away, and the start of July means we’ve lost a few awesome films as well that some fans are sure to miss.
One of the biggest losses is Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Johnny Depp reprises his signature role as Jack Sparrow in this fourth installment of the popular franchise that acts as a standalone followup to 2007’s At World’s End.
