The song being played at Alana's party is Sí Bheag, Sí Mhór (variant spellings Sí Beag, Sí Mór and Sheebeg, Sheemore), a traditional Irish tune often attributed to blind harpist and singer Turlough O'Carolan (1670-1738) as his first composition. The harpist in the group is playing a Celtic, or lever, harp.
Although Morgan Fairchild's character in this claims to be 62 years old, Fairchild was actually born in 1950, making her closer to 42 at the time this was made.
Polly Bergen, who plays the CEO of Morgan Fairchild's cosmetic company here, was also a make-up manufacturer in real life. Bergen was a founder of (and a celebrity spokesperson for) Oil of the Turtle, whose product line included anti-aging cremes and products similar to the one that plays a pivotal role in this film.
Dedicated to the memory of Charlie Helms.
