TV executive and womanizer Benjamin Kane (Rob Lowe) stumbles upon a public access TV show called Wayne's World and decides to buy the rights to the TV show and so wealthy video arcade owner Noah Vanderhoff (Brian Doyle Murray) can be the sponsor of the TV show. With the hosts of Wayne's World Wayne Campbell (Mike Myers) and his co-host and best friend Garth Algar (Dana Carvey) accepting Benjamin Kane's offer to buy the show and put Wayne's World on his TV network, Wayne and Garth hit it big time. But, Benjamin fires Wayne from the TV show, when Wayne humiliates Vanderhoff during an interview on the show and Wayne begins to suspect Benjamin wants to steal his beautiful new girlfriend heavy metal band lead singer Cassandra Wong (Tia Carrere), by producing a music video featuring Cassandra and her band Crucial Taunt. Wayne, with help from Garth, set out to get back the show and hack into a satellite, so they can transmit a live broadcast of Wayne's World into the TV set in the limo of record company producer Frankie Sharp (Frank DiLeo) so he can watch Cassandra and her band perform live on the show and help Cassandra to hit big time and to achieve fame and success.
