Rick Baker, a longtime colleague and frequent collaborator, announced the news yesterday on Instagram, writing, “I just heard the sad news of the passing of one of the great make up artists. Greg Cannom. Greg started with me in the 70’s; his first job with me was the sequel to It’s Alive where he not only assisted me in making the baby but also played one of the baby monsters. When I moved out of my first garage workshop Greg moved in. When I out grew my first industrial unit Greg took that over. His work will be remembered long after his passing. Sad news indeed. Rip Greg, you and your work will be missed.”

Greg Cannom, the masterful prosthetics and makeup specialist who received Oscars for his work on Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Mrs. Doubtfire, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Vice, has died. He was 73.

Cannom worked often with makeup maestro Rick Baker early in his career, and Baker on Friday reported his death in an Instagram post. “His work will be remembered long after his passing,” he wrote. No details were immediately available.

In March 2023, a GoFundMe page was set up to help Cannom with expenses as he battled diabetes and a staph infection that led to one of his legs being amputated below his knee.

In addition to his four wins, Cannom received six other Oscar makeup noms: for Hook (1991), Hoffa (1992), Roommates (1995), Titanic (1997), Bicentennial Man (1999) and A Beautiful Mind (2001).

After facing multiple delays since its 2022 announcement, it seems that people’s greatest fear about the sequel has manifested itself—Matt Reeves has reportedly withdrawn from the director’s chair.

Matt Reeves’ position as director first came into question in mid-April, after an insider mentioned that The Batman 2 is facing delays since the filmmaker had been dealing with personal issues. Thereafter, even Jeff Sneider speculated that Warner Bros. might be forcing Reeves out of the project. And now it seems both rumors may have been true.

The streamer has announced that Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is now available to watch on its platform. Tubi has officially added three of the most iconic films in The Dark Knight's history to its ever-expanding content library. These include 1989's Batman and its sequel, Batman Returns, both starring Michael Keaton. Rounding out the list is 1995's Batman Forever, starring Val Kilmer. The three features made their debut on the platform on May 1.

Directed by Tim Burton from a screenplay by Sam Hamm and Warren Skaaren, 1989's Batman introduced Michael Keaton's instantly iconic take on Bruce Wayne and the titular Caped Crusader. Michael Keaton famously starred as the Dark Knight in both of Tim Burton's Batman movies, and his performance remains a favorite for many fans of the DC character. The role could have gone to the actor's Beetlejuice co-star, Alec Baldwin, but Burton didn't feel he was right for the role.

Baldwin discussed the subject during a recent interview for his brother Stephen Baldwin's podcast One Bad Movie. He noted how his ex-wife, Kim Basinger, has a role as Vicki Vale in the original Batman film by Burton. Baldwin then explained that Basinger told him that she'd spoken with Burton about why he wound up casting Keaton as Bruce Wayne. This was said to be because Burton was looking for someone who'd make a more believable Bruce Wayne than Batman, and the director was having trouble imagining Baldwin such a troubled character.

There are tons of films celebrating milestone anniversaries in 2025. When it comes to the superhero genre, 1995’s Batman Forever is at the top of that list. The Val Kilmer-starring film from director Joel Schumacher turns 30 years old and DC is going all out to celebrate the character’s second 90s big-screen adventure. This included new nostalgic action figures from Spin Master earlier this year, but now Lego is joining the Bat-Mania with a new set sure to have fans racing out of the Batcave.

The 909-piece set is the Batman Forever Batmobile. This version of The Dark Knight’s famous car has a molded windshield, rotatable wheels, authentic decorations and an opening cockpit. Before the Avengers assembled or the Multiverse cracked open, there were mutants rocking leather suits and serious angst. The X-Men franchise practically invented the modern superhero blockbuster formula back in 2000, long before capes became the go-to box office currency.

From mind-bending timelines to Magneto flipping stadiums like pancakes, the mutant saga has delivered everything, telepathy, time travel, sass, Sentinels, and enough Wolverine growls to last a lifetime. But while some entries were cinematic gold (Days of Future Past), others were, well, Dark Phoenix. Still, there’s no denying the franchise’s longevity or star power.

And just when the claws seemed dulled, Deadpool & Wolverine came charging in like a fourth-wall-breaking fever dream, injecting fresh life into the X-gene. With Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman finally sharing proper R-rated chaos, this dynamic duo is poised to break box office record, and possibly the internet.

Suits LA has sincerely struggled since its debut back in late February 2025, with the show earning poor critical and audience reception and simply quivering under the impressive shadow of the original Suits series. However, with just a handful of episodes in the first season left, the spinoff is proving quite the underdog, turning around audience opinion with many now fully immersed in the heady heights of entertainment law in LA.

Stephen Amell leads the show as Ted Black, an iteration of Macht's Harvey, and while the show's ratings seem to be lagging, there is some potential there. Harvey Specter is heading back to Suits LA. After making an appearance earlier in the season, Gabriel Macht will have a larger role as the fan-favorite Suits lawyer in the next two episodes of the Los Angeles-set spinoff series.

The official YouTube channel for the Suits franchise has shared a new 30-second promo for Macht's return as Harvey Specter, which is being billed as a two-week event for Suits LA. In the upcoming episode, "Acapulco," which airs on NBC this Sunday, Apr. 13, Stephen Amell's Ted Black will reach out to his colleague/friend Harvey in the 2010 flashbacks for help with the Pellegrini case. While DeVito is known for being a great worker on set, the Batman Returns star reportedly scared co-star Mary Elizabeth Willis, who played The Waitress in the show. The actress mentioned that when she approached him on day one of filming, he did some nasty things to get into character, which initially put her off.

Last night, the news broke that Robert Pattinson is in talks to play the main villain, Scytale, in Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Messiah adaptation. With so much uncertainly surrounding Matt Reeves' The Batman sequel, this development understandably led to speculation that our return to Gotham City could be hit with another delay.

Though Nexus Point News believes that Pattinson's Dune commitment - should be sign on for the role, that is - would mean cameras wouldn't start rolling on The Batman 2 until 2026 at the earliest, Deadline's Justin Kroll does not expect production to be impacted.

Of course, this doesn't mean filming will definitely commence in 2025.
