If you are a Marvel fan, it is common knowledge that Mark Ruffalo is not to be trusted when it comes to promotional stuff. Only slightly better than the ‘mega spoiler’ Tom Holland, Ruffalo has had a history of spoiling MCU films during press tours and more.
If the DC faction has somebody equivalent to Ruffalo, it is the legend Michael Keaton, who starred in the 1989 film Batman. The actor infamously committed a Ruffalo-level mistake when he spoiled the plot of the film a night before the film’s premiere.

Rick Baker, a longtime colleague and frequent collaborator, announced the news yesterday on Instagram, writing, “I just heard the sad news of the passing of one of the great make up artists. Greg Cannom. Greg started with me in the 70’s; his first job with me was the sequel to It’s Alive where he not only assisted me in making the baby but also played one of the baby monsters. When I moved out of my first garage workshop Greg moved in. When I out grew my first industrial unit Greg took that over. His work will be remembered long after his passing. Sad news indeed. Greg Cannom, Oscar-Winning Makeup Artist on ‘Bram Stoker’s Dracula’ and ‘Mrs. Doubtfire,’ Dies at 73

Greg Cannom, the masterful prosthetics and makeup specialist who received Oscars for his work on Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Mrs. Doubtfire, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Vice, has died. He was 73.
Cannom worked often with makeup maestro Rick Baker early in his career, and Baker on Friday reported his death in an Instagram post. “His work will be remembered long after his passing,” he wrote. No details were immediately available.
In March 2023, a GoFundMe page was set up to help Cannom with expenses as he battled diabetes and a staph infection that led to one of his legs being amputated below his knee.
In addition to his four wins, Cannom received six other Oscar makeup noms: for Hook (1991), Hoffa (1992), Roommates (1995), Titanic (1997), Bicentennial Man (1999) and A Beautiful Mind (2001).

If you thought that the production delay and shift in release date for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman 2 was bad, then buckle up for worse news. After facing multiple delays since its 2022 announcement, it seems that people’s greatest fear about the sequel has manifested itself—Matt Reeves has reportedly withdrawn from the director’s chair.
Matt Reeves’ position as director first came into question in mid-April, after an insider mentioned that The Batman 2 is facing delays since the filmmaker had been dealing with personal issues. Thereafter, even Jeff Sneider speculated that Warner Bros. might be forcing Reeves out of the project. And now it seems both rumors may have been true.
However, John Campea noted that despite Reeves’ absence from Robert Pattinson’s sequel, it’s not the end of the world. Let’s see why.

Michael Keaton famously starred as the Dark Knight in both of Tim Burton's Batman movies, and his performance remains a favorite for many fans of the DC character. The role could have gone to the actor's Beetlejuice co-star, Alec Baldwin, but Burton didn't feel he was right for the role.
Baldwin discussed the subject during a recent interview for his brother Stephen Baldwin's podcast One Bad Movie. He noted how his ex-wife, Kim Basinger, has a role as Vicki Vale in the original Batman film by Burton. Baldwin then explained that Basinger told him that she'd spoken with Burton about why he wound up casting Keaton as Bruce Wayne. This was said to be because Burton was looking for someone who'd make a more believable Bruce Wayne than Batman, and the director was having trouble imagining Baldwin such a troubled character.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has, for the better part of its existence, been so mired in groundbreaking worldbuilding that it has reoriented and restructured the entire format of storytelling for major Hollywood franchises. Kevin Feige, the godfather of this new revisionist format, has reigned over the MCU with a keen eye for nearly 2 decades now, but with time comes change.

Twenty-five years ago I experienced Robert Zemeckis’ bone-chilling ghost story What Lies Beneath in theaters. I was thirteen at the time and remember being blown away by it in the moment. At the time, I was ecstatic about X-Men, which I’d seen the week prior. I distinctly remember walking out of the small theater in my home town and declaring, “That was better than X-Men!” I hadn’t seen What Lies Beneath since the early 2000s, and while I no longer think it’s better than Bryan Singer’s original entry in the long running Marvel franchise, it still holds up as a well-crafted ghost story featuring strong performances from two Hollywood icons.

There are tons of films celebrating milestone anniversaries in 2025. When it comes to the superhero genre, 1995’s Batman Forever is at the top of that list. The Val Kilmer-starring film from director Joel Schumacher turns 30 years old and DC is going all out to celebrate the character’s second 90s big-screen adventure. This included new nostalgic action figures from Spin Master earlier this year, but now Lego is joining the Bat-Mania with a new set sure to have fans racing out of the Batcave.
The 909-piece set is the Batman Forever Batmobile. This version of The Dark Knight’s famous car has a molded windshield, rotatable wheels, authentic decorations and an opening cockpit. Like the Batmobile in the film, the car appears to feature blue lights throughout to make it as screen accurate as possible.

Whether it was as Bruce Wayne or the Dark Knight himself, Michael Keaton owned the cape and cowl in Tim Burton’s Batman and Batman Returns. Even today, decades later, fans still argue in dimly lit forums about who the best Batman is. Sure, Affleck looked like he could bench press a bus, but let’s be completely honest—he was no Michael Keaton. But now, a recent interview has fans wondering if Alec Baldwin could have done a better job as Batman instead of Keaton. What many don’t realise is that Keaton almost didn’t get the gig. Warner Bros. was basically playing a game of Batman Tinder, swiping right on names like Mel Gibson, Kevin Costner, Charlie Sheen, Tom Selleck, Bill Murray, Harrison Ford, and Dennis Quaid before director Tim Burton swiped left on everyone and doubled down on Keaton as Batman. But guess who else wanted the role?...

"Batman: The Animated Series" is beloved for how accurately it adapted the "Batman" comics. Many consider the series to be the definitive depiction of Gotham City. Yet "Batman" also colored in the margins, where the creators left their own thumbprints.
The series didn't only adapt existing Batman comics and characters. The "Batman" team also introduced a handful of original characters, spicing up the stories they could tell. Some of these original characters were such successes that the comics started adapting them from the show.
Take Gotham police officer Renee Montoya, one of Commissioner Gordon's (Bob Hastings) inner circle. Or Nora Fries, terminally ill wife of the villainous Mr. Freeze. Nora's admittedly more of a plot device, but her presence casts a cloud over Freeze and is the foundation of his brilliant recharacterization.
Some of the other original characters were more sinister. The many illustrious villains of "Batman: The Animated Series...

1989's "Batman" made Tim Burton a box office hero, exposed mass audiences to a truly dark interpretation of the Dark Knight, and ensured Joker actor Jack Nicholson never ran out of money for the rest of his life. The movie was a major success, changing how Hollywood marketed blockbuster movies going forward and influencing every single superhero movie that came in its wake. Burton himself is a big part of why the movie worked as well as it did, holding fast to his artistic vision for the character even as Warner Bros. tried to steer him away from it at multiple turns. But we also wouldn't have that vision without Sam Hamm and Warren Skaaren's script, which contains some of the most memorable lines in superhero movie history, from Joker's "Where does he get those wonderful toys?" to Michael Keaton's legendary "I'm Batman."

Actor James Spader became a household name in the early 2000s thanks to his performance as Alan Shore in Boston Legal. However, Spader later reinvented himself on the small screen with his critically acclaimed run on the crime-drama series The Blacklist, which lasted for an impressive ten seasons.
Despite being a part of the MCU, Spader’s performance as the enigmatic Raymond “Red” Reddington in the series makes him suitable for one DC villain role. With The Batman 2 yet to start production, it might be worth looking at Spader for this DC character, who would easily fit into Matt Reeves’ Gotham. Here is why James Spader is perfect for one DC villain.

If you look at a lot of the best films in the superhero genre, a common denominator is Batman. The Caped Crusader's 80+ year legacy makes him one of the comic book heroes most open for interpretation. Different filmmakers have produced widely different, yet equally excellent, Batman movies. 1966's "Batman: The Movie" is a camp classic. "Batman Returns" is a gothic German Expressionist melodrama only Tim Burton could have made. Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight" and Matt Reeves' "The Batman" are both fantastic crime dramas with big ideas most superhero movies don't even reach for.
But it'd be a big mistake to leave animation out of this conversation. "Batman: The Animated Series" is generally considered the finest Batman adaptation ever, proof positive the Dark Knight can excel on film no matter the medium. There are also many more animated Batman movies than live-action ones at this point. Many of them...

Deadpool Wolverine Box Office ( Photo Credit – Facebook )
Before the Avengers assembled or the Multiverse cracked open, there were mutants rocking leather suits and serious angst. The X-Men franchise practically invented the modern superhero blockbuster formula back in 2000, long before capes became the go-to box office currency.
From mind-bending timelines to Magneto flipping stadiums like pancakes, the mutant saga has delivered everything, telepathy, time travel, sass, Sentinels, and enough Wolverine growls to last a lifetime. But while some entries were cinematic gold (Days of Future Past), others were, well, Dark Phoenix. Still, there’s no denying the franchise’s longevity or star power.
And just when the claws seemed dulled, Deadpool & Wolverine came charging in like a fourth-wall-breaking fever dream, injecting fresh life into the X-gene. With Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman finally sharing proper R-rated chaos, this dynamic duo is poised to break box office record, and possibly the internet.

Suits LA has sincerely struggled since its debut back in late February 2025, with the show earning poor critical and audience reception and simply quivering under the impressive shadow of the original Suits series. However, with just a handful of episodes in the first season left, the spinoff is proving quite the underdog, turning around audience opinion with many now fully immersed in the heady heights of entertainment law in LA.
At the halfway point of the season, Suits LA's audience rating on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes had plummeted even lower than its debut rating with 39%, shockingly, 48% lower than the original series' comparative figure. Despite original Suits creator Aaron Korsh back at the helm and big stars such as Stephen Amell and Maggie Grace involved, there seemed to be no way back for the spinoff. That's where fan-favorite Gabriel Macht steps in, with the original series star appearing in Episode 4, "Batman Returns,...

The first season of Suits LA has offered some bright sparks since the show premiered, the biggest being the return of Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) in Episode 4, "Batman Returns." Macht, who starred in the original 2011 drama, Suits, has been one of the spinoff's greatest weapons as it seeks to establish itself. Harvey returns to Suits LA this coming Sunday in the episode titled, "Acapulco." While Macht's Harvey was the golden child in the original drama, that role is occupied by Stephen Amell's Ted Black, with the show confirming the pair were friends back in New York. Ahead of Harvey's return, a newly released clip captures an exchange between the pair which is not exactly friendly.
The clip comes courtesy of Suits LA's now trademark flashbacks to New York 2010. Harvey meets up with Ted at the bar after the Da prosecutor hits a "speed bump," as Harvey describes it,...

Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers head writer Tony Oliver recently appeared on Dark Side of the Power Rangers, the latest episode of Hollywood Demons, to say it was a “mistake” to cast Black and Asian actors as the Black and Yellow Rangers due to cultural stereotypes. However, Power Rangers star Walter Emanuel Jones disagrees.
“I’ve always believed in focusing on the positive,” Jones wrote on Instagram. “I understand the impulse to address what might be seen as cultural insensitivity, but calling it a ‘mistake’ would dismiss the impact it had on countless people around the world who found inspiration and representation in TV’s first Black superhero — morphin’ into none other than the Black Power Ranger! It wasn’t a mistake; it was a milestone. It was an honor.“

While Robert Pattinson waits to finally don his Batman suit again in The Batman Part 2, the acclaimed actor keeps stockpiling roles in feature-length projects to bide his time. Though his reported casting in Dune: Messiah adds to an increasingly busy schedule, fans shouldn't worry about this latest news causing further delays to the long-gestating The Batman sequel.
Per Deadline's Justin Kroll (via X), Pattinson is in talks for a leading role in Denis Villeneuve's Dune threequel, which looks set to begin principal photography this summer. Given Pattinson's potential commitments to Messiah, along with him being overseas filming Christopher Nolan's fantasy-action thriller, The Odyssey, fans instantly speculated whether this meant Part II could incur further delays, with its release date already pushed back twice. However, Kroll eased fan anxiety, insisting that the production schedules for Messiah and The Odyssey would allow him to shoot them "in reasonable time," and...

Much of the cred associated with the Aaron Korsh 2011 legal dramedy, Suits, can be attributed to the performance of Gabriel Macht as Harvey Specter. After a resurgence of the original series on Netflix in recent years, Korsh returns for another rodeo, this time moving the franchise to California with Suits LA. Stephen Amell leads the show as Ted Black, an iteration of Macht's Harvey, and while the show's ratings seem to be lagging, there is some potential there. Macht has already made an appearance in Suits LASeason 1, Episode 4, "Batman Returns." His appearance schedule for Season 1 is a three-episode arc that resumes with next Sunday's episode, titled "Acapulco."
Ahead of the episode's premiere, a new clip has been released to herald Harvey's return, and it teases a "2-week Suits event," which involves "doing some bad things." A conversation kicks off the clip: "Suit up. Winners don't greet the day in sweatpants,...

Having completed two months in theaters worldwide, Marvel's Captain America: Brave New World is nearing the end of its run. It'll soon debut on digital, where new audiences will hopefully be able to check it out. Not too many people, relatively speaking, showed up to watch the film in theaters. Brave New World remains one of the lowest-grossing installments of the Marvel Cinematic Universe — the biggest film franchise in global box office history. That being said, it passed a couple of landmark superhero movies on its way out.
With $413 million in the bank so far at the global box office, Brave New World has now overtaken the $412 million lifetime global haul of Tim Burton's Batman, which set records during its original run in 1989. The movie has also overtaken the $406 million lifetime global haul of X-2: X-Men United, often considered one of the greatest comic book movies ever made. Brave New World...

Is Shawn Levy Making A Star Wars Movie With Ryan Gosling? (Photo Credit – Wikipedia)
There’s a quiet but growing buzz around Shawn Levy’s Star Wars project, one that’s starting to sound more like a countdown than a question mark. While most fans have fixed their eyes on The Mandalorian and Grogu, currently locked in for a May 2026 release, another contender might just sneak in faster than expected. It is Levy’s mysterious Star Wars entry, potentially starring Ryan Gosling.
Jonathan Tropper Teases A Quicker Arrival
In an interview with ScreenRant, Jonathan Tropper, penning Levy’s galactic venture, recently dropped a subtle but significant hint that things are moving faster than we thought. While he was tight-lipped, which is unsurprising for a Star Wars project, his comments carried the tone of someone who knows the engine is already humming in the hangar.

Is Robert Pattinson’s The Batman 2 Still Happening? (Photo Credit – Netflix)
Gotham’s been eerily quiet lately, and it’s not just because Batman’s off brooding on a rooftop somewhere. Rumors have been circling like bats around a bell tower—Is The Batman 2 even happening? Or has it vanished into the cinematic shadows forever? Since Robert Pattinson first slipped into the cowl and eyeliner in Matt Reeves’ noir-soaked The Batman, fans have been clamoring for more.
The film was a hit; the vibes were dark and moody in all the right ways, and everyone assumed a sequel would glide in soon after. But instead of Bat-signals, we’ve been getting radio silence and a few panic-inducing headlines.
With updates moving slower than a Riddler confession, fans wondered: is this Bat project still alive or already six feet under in the Warner Bros. vault? Toss in some spinoffs...

Henry Cavill is widely considered one of the best Supermans to date by DC fans. From his looks to his physicality, the British star embodied the superhero with a grounded and more complex approach, adding depth to the character.
While Cavill might have been the perfect Superman on the big screen, Tyler Hoechlin played one of the best versions of the DC character on the small screen. In the drama Superman & Lois, Hoechlin not only gave a strong and compelling take on the character but also gave us a chilling Superman-Lex Luthor fight that Cavill failed to do.

Director Matt Reeves' version of The Batman hit theaters in 2022 and jump-started the post-covid box office with a dynamic $369 million domestic and $772 million worldwide. Critics were enraptured by Robert Pattinson's darker, grittier, noir-style caped crusader, giving the DC Studios movie an 85 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and a 72 score on Metacritic — not too shabby for a comic-book character who's been skulking around Gotham City since 1939.

FX’s It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia added Danny DeVito to the main cast in its second season after the show’s producer suggested that the Gang get a famous actor into the series. The gamble played out well as DeVito loved the series and blended in perfectly with the weird, dark humor of the sitcom.
While DeVito is known for being a great worker on set, the Batman Returns star reportedly scared co-star Mary Elizabeth Willis, who played The Waitress in the show. The actress mentioned that when she approached him on day one of filming, he did some nasty things to get into character, which initially put her off.

Last night, the news broke that Robert Pattinson is in talks to play the main villain, Scytale, in Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Messiah adaptation. With so much uncertainly surrounding Matt Reeves' The Batman sequel, this development understandably led to speculation that our return to Gotham City could be hit with another delay.
Though Nexus Point News believes that Pattinson's Dune commitment - should be sign on for the role, that is - would mean cameras wouldn't start rolling on The Batman 2 until 2026 at the earliest, Deadline's Justin Kroll does not expect production to be impacted.
Of course, this doesn't mean filming will definitely commence in 2025.
Last we heard, Reeves was planning to shoot The Batman sequel before the end of the year, but it doesn't sound like anything is set in stone just yet.
Little clarity as there seems to be some confusion. This film will shoot this summer and like The Odyssey,...

It has been a week since Val Kilmer passed away at the age of 65, and his fans, along with Hollywood, are still mourning his death but also looking back at his body of work. Drew Barrymore took the time on her talk show to look back at a special time in her life when she shared the screen with the actor in 1995's Batman Forever, and it's a memory that the actress is very fond of because of how much of a gentleman Kilmer was on the set.

Where would superhero movies be without Tim Burton's "Batman?" Well, for one thing, we wouldn't have the memory of witnessing Michael Keaton's Batman being shoehorned into the superheroic bomb that was 2022's "The Flash." More seriously, Burton's 1989 mega-hit not only directly influenced the trajectory of superhero movie evolution, it changed the way studios marketed their blockbusters and re-established Batman in the public consciousness as the dark avenger first introduced in 1939's "Detective Comics" #27.
The fact the movie exists in the first place is nothing short of miraculous. "Batman" was a major risk in 1989. Aside from the fact the Christopher Reeve-led "Superman" films had gone out with a whimper in 1987 with "Superman IV: The Quest for Peace," the Dark Knight just wasn't a reliable blockbuster IP at that stage. Still very much seen by the public as the clownish figure from Adam West's 1960s TV series,...

From where audiences saw the end of The Penguin Season 1, Oz Cobb was set to take over as the kingpin of Gotham’s underworld, having removed some of the strongest criminals from Gotham’s hierarchy of gangs.
With seemingly nothing to stand in his way, one character might actually not only prove to be a worthy opponent to Cobb but also salvage a character that the Dceu ruined. Matt Reeves’ version of The Penguin has put him in the Hall of Fame for villains, right alongside Heath Ledger’s The Joker.

It is clear that for The Penguin Season 2 to have some stakes, Matt Reeves is going to have to introduce another gangster in the scenario to make the Penguin’s life a little difficult. And there is one character that could give The Penguin a run for his money.
Black Mask would be perfect...

Val Kilmer was a truly unique actor, movie star, and personality, as his uncompromising approach to the craft of acting resulted in a great deal of versatility. Although Kilmer emerged as a heartthrob when his performance in “Real Genius” (1985) came at the tail end of the “Brat Pack” era, he quickly began showing signs of greater ambition, as he would often challenge himself with dramatic physical and emotional transformations. Kilmer was incredibly well read and cared deeply about the history of storytelling. As a former theater star, he dedicated a good portion of his career to the works of Mark Twain.
Kilmer’s health struggles resulted in him taking a backseat from the spotlight in recent years, but that doesn’t mean that he failed to keep working. The powerful 2021 documentary “Val” offered an intimate look at his life and career, examining how he was at odds with the perception attached to him.

It has been six years since Chuck Lorre’s The Big Bang Theory concluded with its 12th season, but this hasn’t stopped the IP from expanding, especially with the success of its spin-off. As for the main show itself, several actors have entertained the prospect of a return, and interestingly, the network and Lorre himself were adamant about continuing the show post-12 season.

Val Kilmer has sadly passed away at the age of 65. A staple of Hollywood in the '80s and '90s, he was a leading man through and through who delivered performances full of charisma and charm, never failing to captivate whenever he was on the silver screen.
Among those many performances were Iceman in Top Gun, Madmartigan in Willow, and Jim Morrison in The Doors. He also portrayed Batman in 1995's Batman Forever, the third film in Hollywood's Caped Crusader movie series of the '80s and '90s.
The Joel Schumacher movie is a divisive one, particularly because it opened the door for the franchise to produce the infamous sequel Batman and Robin, but as the years go on, Forever is getting more appreciation. Kilmer's performance as Bruce Wayne is one of the many aspects initially overlooked in the midst of the film's noisiness that is slowly...

Suits LA has run half of its first season, and while the show might still be suffering a bit of a setback in terms of its popularity, the show remains one that has the potential to kick on eventually. The spinoff features Lex Scott Davis as the female lead, Erica Rollins. The 2011 legal drama was a brilliant hit for the USA Network, and with its resurgence on Netflix a few years later, the spinoff was launched.
