Of all the actors who played Frank and Carol's children, only Christine Lakin (Al Lambert) had a substantial acting career after the show ended. Staci Keanan, Angela Watson, and Emily Mae Young acted intermittently in some movies and TV shows following the show's cancellation, but the other actors largely retired from acting.
Many sets used in scenes inside the house were also used in Valerie (1986) and Family Matters (1989).
With the exception of a season 4 flashback episode, Patrika Darbo and Peggy Rea (Carol's sister and mother respectively) are only featured in season 1 and are never seen nor mentioned again for the rest of the series.
Sasha Mitchell was fired from the show during season 5 after being convicted of domestic violence against his then-wife, Jeanette Robbins. He was eventually given his job back, and appeared in the second-to-last episode of Season 7. However, his return was short-lived after CBS permanently canceled the series.
During Season 6, Josh Byrne quit acting and left the show. His character, Brendan Lambert, was then never seen or mentioned at all for the remainder of the series.
