15 Best Movies Like Fifty Shades Of Grey
Image
A best-selling smash before being adapted into a trilogy of similarly successful movies, author E.L James' "Fifty Shades of Grey" is a strong reminder that sex sells. The novels and their cinematic adaptations explored a central romance that dealt heavily in eroticism and uninhibited sexual passion. The story occasionally broached on darker themes, bordering on the thriller genre, but maintained its key narrative focus on the sensuality between its lead characters. Fortunately, for those looking for similar steamy stories or dark explorations into sexuality, there are a number of acclaimed movies to follow up the "Fifty Shades of Grey" trilogy.

Whether it's the ultimate in cinematic bad romances or neo-noir thrillers that have a decidedly erotic tinge, plenty of movies provide unflinching on-screen sensuality. To be clear, this isn't just a collection of movies that would make your parents blush but rather well-crafted films that happen to be linked by frank sexual themes.

Hawkeye actor Jeremy Renner is switching out his bow and arrow for a little cloak and dagger, as he is starring in Netflix's Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, the third Benoit Blanc whodunnit from Rian Johnson. There are very few details about the central case that Daniel Craig's renowned detective will be investigating, leaving audiences to search for clues and breadcrumbs of information — but it's all very hush-hush, even for the cast, as Renner recently compared the project to being "like a Marvel movie" due to its secrecy.

During an appearance on Josh Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused podcast, Renner was quizzed about whether he would be starring as himself in the third Knives Out mystery after he technically made an appearance in Glass Onion (by way of a fictional bottle of hot sauce named "Renning hot" that had his face plastered on the label...

Don’t Miss This Mindmelting Michael Douglas Thriller on Prime Video: “An absolute masterpiece”
Image
Do you need more Michael Douglas in your life? I’m sure you do. His films are endlessly watchable and he’s got a perpetual charm that transcends time and space. Douglas has played more iconic characters than I have time or space (see what I did?) to list here. Gordon Gekko from Wall Street, Hank Pym from the MCU, Dan Gallagher from Fatal Attraction, and many, many more. One of my favorite pictures from Douglas’ storied filmography is currently streaming on Prime Video. And that’s all the more encouragement I need to gush about my undying appreciation for the title in question. What is the title in question? Well, I’m glad you asked, dear reader. I’m talking about David Fincher’s The Game.

Few films have blown my mind like The Game. The winding narrative, the show-stopping performances from a gifted cast, and the insane twist...
