Some episodes contain implied sex scenes, typically depicting couples undressing and kissing passionately, followed by a scene of the couple lying in bed together. Some characters are notorious for their sexual promscuity, including one who conceived a child with her son-in-law.

Some episodes contain moderate violence and threat, which may include stabbings and shootings, accompanied with blood and injury detail, as well as characters coughing up blood. Many characters sustain seemingly fatal injuries but survive, in traditional soap opera fashion. One storyline depicted implied sexual violence of a female character. Milder depictions of violence, such as cat fights, are more common.

While generally infrequent, some episodes contain mild coarse language, such as "bitch" and "slut", and/or milder terms such as "bastard" and "whore".

Contains occasional alcohol consumption and drunken behaviour.

Scenes of moderate violence and threat, as well as scenes of emotional upset (including bereavement) may be distressing for younger viewers.
