As the final credits fade, there is the sound of an alien egg opening.
As was the case with the first film in which the title of the film is revealed slowly, piece by piece, the ALIENS title forms slowly during the opening credits but in a different way. The word begins dark and out of focus, like a blue light or a gas flame seen through a grille before becoming clear. Once the full title appears, the "I" expands horizontally and burns brightly, whiting out the screen before fading to a shot of deep space.
