- When aired on the USA Network, the show's title card is removed, along with the first couple minutes. When aired on Fox Family (now Freeform), there were numerous commercial breaks and a large section of the title sequence was removed.
- Some of the rerun episodes from the first two seasons have Dave Coulier and Kath Soucie voices as Peter Venkman and Janine Melnitz instead of Lorenzo Music and Laura Summer's original voices.
- The german dubbed version has a slightly different audio-track for the opening sequence. While the theme song and the sound effects have been kept intact, reactions for the main characters have been added (e.g. Venkman yells when falling off his chair; Janine utters a disgusted "Eww!" when being kissed by Slimer). At the end of the sequence, when the Ghostbusters are charging their proton guns, they say "We ain't afraid of no ghosts!", and at the very end, Venkman says "I ain't afraid of no ghosts." when the title is shown.
- Several episodes have different music used in different scenes, either a pop song by Tahiti or standard series music. These episodes sometimes appear on home video or different TV airings. For example, in the episode "Knock, Knock", when the Ghostbusters are on the train, sometimes you'll "The Bogeyman" by Tahiti, and sometimes you'll hear a remix of the theme song. The long-running Ghostbusters' website Spook Central (SpookCentral.tk) has a detailed list of these Alternate Episodes.
