Beyond the Darkness (1979)

Goofs

Beyond the Darkness

Edit

Continuity

When Anna's body falls out of the closet, she falls face-down, but in the next shot, she is lying on her back.
The intruder takes pictures of Anna after her body falls out of the closet, but the position of the body doesn't correspond with the position in the photograph: in the photograph, her left hand touches her robe, but in "reality" her left arm wasn't near her robe. Her right arm is resting on her belly in the photograph; in reality it is next to her body.
Anna can be seen breathing when Francesco is done injecting her.
Francesco confronts Iris and she cuts his leg, but the knife was up in the air and not down close to the leg.
When Francesco is driving Anna's corpse from the graveyard, her left hand is up, but it was down in the previous shot of her.

Revealing mistakes

The pale white color of Anna's face occasionally contrasts differently to the rest of her corpse, including the hands and neck, which are flesh colored.
Anna's chest is moving as she breathes in the casket; this should not happen as she's supposed to be dead.
When Francesco is cutting Anna open, her eyes can be seen moving.
Anna's legs can be seen moving in the background when Iris comes and sees Francesco with a dead girl.
Teodora arrives at the house during the night, but when she is stumbling through a dark house with a lighter, windows are shown and it's clearly daytime outside.

Miscellaneous

According to the title sequence, the score was produced by "The Goblins." This was a mistake. The widely-known Italian band is called "Goblin."

Audio/visual unsynchronised

When Iris tells Eleanor "Come In", her lips don't move. Likewise when Mr. Kale tells the priest "That'll be enough" about the money Anna's parents left for her burial.

Character error

When Anna's body falls out of the closet, it's obvious that her eyes are fixed on one point, thus moving her eyeballs upwards as she falls. After she was exhumed, her eyes were replaced by prosthetic ones that were fixed, thus preventing movement. She obviously couldn't keep her real eyes still.
