Robin Hood

Edit

Edited from

    • Cinderella (1950)

Uses same animation and sound for bells at the end
    • The Jungle Book (1967)

In the early 70s, the Disney studio was undergoing a cost-cutting exercise with their film Robin Hood. To help save money, they recycled several elements from The Jungle Book, including using the design of Baloo for Little John and the dance sequence between Baloo and King Louie which was rotoscoped and used again for Little John and Lady Cluck's dance.

Edited into

    • "The Magical World of Disney" Robin Hood (TV Episode 1986)

Episode was edited from this film.

References

    • Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)

Some of Maid Marian's dance moves are reused from Snow White's during the "Silly Song".
    • The Wizard of Oz (1939)

    • Becket (1964)

Prince John's crown is modeled after King Henry's crown in Becket. Henry was John's historical father.
    • The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour (TV Series 1967–1993)

Prince John's comment "Mother always did like Richard best" is a riff on a running gag from the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, and would have been understood at the time.
    • The Jungle Book (1967)

Many similarities between Baloo and Little John: Both are bears, both are voiced by Phil Harris, and both even dance in much the same fashion. Sir Hiss resembles Kaa, and there are similar vultures in both movies.
