Male dancers in the opening music number wear outfits and bowlers like the droogons in Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange (1971), which was a great success few months before, even if in Spain it only premiered in 1975, after general Franco's dictatorship ended. For sure it had been seen by the team. Another slight reference and within the same year is the photo of Don Florencio's mother on his table: it portraits the same actor José Luis López Vázquez dressed as an old classic lady, just as he plays in My Dearest Senorita (1972) a film that also premiered in early 1972 and where he plays the role of a lady who discovers to be a man. Surely is a wink by the director to a film that became a major success in Spain, getting an Oscar nomination and several other prizes.
