It's strange to think that one of the best characters in "Hawaii Five-o" didn't actually show up until season 4, and didn't become a main character until season 5. Jorge Garcia's Jerry Ortega debuted in "Ka 'oia'i'o ma lok," introduced as a childhood friend of Chin Ho Kelly (Daniel Dae Kim). Ortega is a conspiracy theorist, but luckily, he's the fun kind of conspiracy theorist. He's someone with an earnest curiosity about the world who approaches his theories with a sense of childlike wonder.
In season 5, Ortega is hired to help the Five-o team on a regular basis. By season 6, he's got his own office and by season 7, he's got an official badge. It seemed like Ortega was here to stay, but in the season 10 premiere, he left the show for good. So, what's up with that? Why would Ortega leave the Five-o team? And more importantly, why would Jorge Garcia...

“The Night Agent” has returned with many new faces. Now that Peter Sutherland is officially a night agent, he must take on a new conspiracy mission with a new team.
Gabriel Basso will pick up the action, starring as Peter, and Luciane Buchanan will return as Rose. Though the couple ended their relationship at the end of Season 1, when Rose hears Peter is in trouble, she jumps at the opportunity to rekindle their relationship.
Because this season follows Peter on a new mission, several members of the original cast will not be back for Season 2, though, including Hong Chau and Robert Patrick.

“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another, ‘What! You too? I thought I was the only one.’” – C.S. Lewis. This sentiment once echoed loudly in the bond between Kanye West and P Diddy. From shared ambitions in music and fashion to unforgettable moments at major events, the pair seemed inseparable.

But as we all know, relationships are fragile, and even the closest of bonds can fray under the weight of personal beliefs, differences, and public pressure. For West and Diddy, the spark that ignited their feud came in October 2022, when the former donned his infamous White Lives Matter T-shirt. Diddy, who had previously defended West’s eccentricities, could no longer turn a blind eye.

Over the years, we’ve welcomed and then lost a bunch of sci-fi and fantasy shows. Some of them were canceled way too soon, leaving us with a lot of questions. A lot of these deserve to make a comeback in some sort of way.
Sometimes shows actually do come back. Series like Night Court and Dexter are getting revivals (and prequels) while shows like Matlock and Hawaii Five-o are getting or have had reboots happen. It’s rare that the sci-fi and fantasy genres get the same treatment, though, and this is the genre with some of the best storytelling.
Here are five such series that deserve to make a comeback, and one of them is from 2024.
Quantum Leap

Grace Park and Hawaii Five-0 are practically synonymous for fans of the hit crime drama. Portraying Kono Kalakaua, Grace wasn’t just another character on the team, she was the heart and soul that gave the show its edge.
From the very first season, Kono stood out displaying a rookie cop with killer instincts and fierce loyalty that made her a fan favorite. And let’s not forget her insane surf skills that added to her badass persona. Whether she was chasing down bad guys or navigating personal challenges, Kono brought depth and relatability to the otherwise action-packed procedural.

For Park, Hawaii Five-o was more than just a career milestone. It was her role as Kono that catapulted her into success and solidified her as a household name. Over seven seasons and 168 episodes, she was an integral part of the show’s ensemble.

Both P. Diddy and Kanye West have long been associated with each other, initially as friends and later for their feud over the latter’s controversial White Lives Matter T-shirts. And it appears that the rapper had started keeping his distance from the disgraced music mogul after their friendship turned sour, likely after experiencing the consequences of Diddy’s influence in his life.

These days, fans are familiar with seeing reboots of successful old series. Even shows that fans hold sacred have been plucked from the dusty shadows to see new life.
The Matlock approach turned out to be a very different way of handling a series that has been done before — a show that we might file under legendary status.
Understandably, most fans were skeptical, maybe even protective, when they heard the news that CBS was rebooting a classic.
(Courtesy of CBS Studios)
Is nothing sacred?
In the last decade, we’ve seen more reboots, spinoffs, and book-to-film adaptations than unique original works. Where did the creativity go?
Most reboots don’t fare well. Look at Magnum, P.I., Hawaii Five-o, Saved by the Bell, and the similarly mystery-themed Perry Mason.

Network television is entering a very interesting era. Audiences are starting to get fatigued with the huge array of streaming services on offer. What's more, they are looking for long-form storytelling that matches the traditional formula they are used to from TV programming. While the likes of Disney+ and Netflix are still popular, those limited, single-season runs, with 6 to 8 shorter episodes, are growing tiresome. Fans are hoping to see something more procedural, or at least for more variety to be on offer. They are thus turning back to cable and network TV in the hope of getting back to the old ways of production. That provides these studios with an incredible opportunity, and audiences should not be surprised to see more reboots, spinoffs, and original ideas in the works as these companies fight for this ever-growing section of the audience.
For CBS, NCIS has always been a particularly prominent franchise to rely upon.

Canadian actor William Shatner began his professional career in the early 1950s, appearing in an obscure film called "The Butler's Night Off." He worked in theaters, both as a manager and as an actor, in Montreal and Ottawa, and acted in the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in the mid-1950s. He moved to the United States shortly thereafter to pursue a Broadway career, and made ends meet by appearing on an episode of the Canadian version of "The Howdy Doody Show." Shatner racked up dozens of credits in film and on TV throughout the '50s and '60s, appearing in adaptations of "The Brother Karamazov" and "Judgment at Nuremberg" and on notable programs like "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" and "The Twilight Zone." In 1965, Shatner starred in "Incubus," the only feature film ever made in Esperanto.
Then, in 1966, Shatner landed the lead role in a new science fiction series called "Star Trek.

We’re inching closer to the highly anticipated return of one of CBS’s top shows, and things are getting hotter than ever.
Jared Padalecki joining Fire Country has us geeking out because why wouldn’t we love a Thieriot-Padalecki bromance on our favorite surviving firefighter series? His character, Camden, will appear in three episodes of the third season with a significant purpose.
Many fans are wary of the staff addition, given that it’s a set-up for a third “Country” series, which is currently in the planning stage.

Fire Country struggled through its second season, so news of slate of spinoffs isn’t as exciting as it should be.
What’s going to happen when that universe divides into new entities?
Despite our reservations about the spinoff news, most of us are loving the dreamy possibilities of Padalecki and Thieriot as sweaty, filthy firefighter buddies.

“Star Trek” and “Transformers” screenwriter and producer Roberto Orci was accused of “repeatedly” physically and sexually assaulting his wife, actress Adele Heather Taylor, in a lawsuit filed Monday.
The filing, a countersuit to Orci’s June suit against Taylor claiming she assaulted him with a Taser and pepper spray, graphically details years of abuse dating back to a March 2018 incident that saw Taylor fleeing a taxi after Orci struck her three times in the face. It characterizes the producer as a bipolar alcoholic who “seldom takes his medication” — one who would belittle his wife with insults like “whore,” “slut” and “other derogatory, sexist slurs.”
Other instances of assault detailed in the countersuit include a pair of May 2022 and June 2022 incidents where Orci beat Taylor to the ground and raped her in their garden, proclaiming in the former case that he “can do whatever I want to you” and in the...

Cheng Pei-pei, the Chinese-born action film icon who starred in Ang Lee’s Oscar-nominated “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” and King Hu’s seminal wuxia feature “Come Drink With Me,” has died. She was 78.
Cheng, considered a pioneer of martial arts roles for female actors, died in the San Francisco Bay Area on Wednesday. She had long suffered from a degenerative brain disease and has donated her brain to medical research.
Born in Shanghai on Jan. 6, 1946, Cheng moved to Hong Kong in 1962. With her ballet and dance training, she was soon working with the iconic Shaw Brothers studio. While her feature debut was drama film “Lovers’ Rock,” she became a major star in martial arts, action and swordplay movies following her breakout role in 1966’s “Come Drink With Me,” directed by King Hu. The film set the tone for a sequel (“Golden Swallow” in 1968), an unrealized remake by Quentin Tarantino and...
