Although no nudity is shown, an orgy-like, drug-fuelled party does occur quite randomly during this film.
With wrenches in his hand, a character chases after a woman to tighten the "bolts" (buttons) that are strategically placed on the front of her jacket on her breasts. This is played for laughs, and nothing actually happens except for chasing.

Chaplin smokes cigarettes and cigars on several occasions. He is accidentally intoxicated when a cask of rum is punctured with bullets, spraying him with liquor. He also has an accidental run-in with "nose powder" (cocaine) smuggled in by a fellow prisoner, who hides it in a salt shaker. Chaplin unknowingly sprinkles the "salt" all over his food, making him a bit tipsy or high.
